After a series of amusing misdirects from its cast, Marvel Studios have finally dropped the real, working title of its next film in Jon Watt’s Spider-Man trilogy. The Spider-Man: No Way Home is confirmed to be arriving in cinemas this Christmas. Watch the teaser trailer below.

If you recall, there was some kind of hype-building going on these past few days coming from Tom Holland (playing Peter Parker), Zendaya (MJ), and Jacob Batalon (Ned Leeds). Each of them gave their “take” on what could be the working title on this next Spider-Man film. However, it was immediately clear that these are just their way of playing with words, hinting at the idea of an impending title reveal anytime soon. And like clockwork, Marvel Studios has just released the film’s official title, delivered through a short skit about the trio’s predisposition for spoilers.

The title is definitely something to think about, and many Marvel fans took it to the internet on what this could reveal about the movie’s plot. One key element in the reveal teaser is the cryptic whiteboard found in the hallway. The board seems to reflect a brainstorming session for the film’s possible titles, riddled with enigmatic symbols and phrases that somehow relate to the film’s title. Like a trail of bread crumbs, these pieces of clues may eventually lead to what Peter Parker has thought since the previous films – the existence of the MCU multiverse. And considering that the Spider-Man: No Way Home evokes a certain feeling of frustration and despair for not finding one’s way back home, we can somehow theorize that our friendly neighborhood web-crawler has to traverse so many “worlds” (or alternate realities, perhaps) to find his very own.

With more than 4 million views as of this posting, the hype for this film is continuously building. We can also expect that the months leading to its premiere will be riddled with other promotions and tie-in merchandise to build on its publicity. LEGO for one has consistently released tie-in sets for the two previous Spider-Man installments in the form of the ATM Heist Battle (76082) and Beware the Vulture (76083) sets from Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Molten Man Battle (76128), Hydro-Man Attack (76129) and Stark Jet and the Drone Attack (76130) sets from Spider-Man: Far From Home. And given a December theatrical screening for Spider-Man: No Way Home, then we can assume that any LEGO-related sets will be revealed sometime in the third quarter of this year.

Whatever is the case, these upcoming LEGO tie-in sets will surely reveal some aspects of the film’s storyline and hopefully give us a glimpse of what to expect from this third installment. For now, let’s just see where the trail of bread crumbs and whiteboard clues will lead us.

So what do you think will this third Spider-Man film be all about? Does it really point us to the MCU multiverse moving forward? And what new LEGO Spider-Man sets can we possibly expect from this film franchise?
