Following the rumor train regarding the upcoming LEGO Speed Champions 2021 sets scheduled to be released this summer, we now have our first look at one of these new brick-built speedsters in the form of the LEGO Speed Champions Mopar Dodge/SRT Top Fuel Dragster and 1970 Dodge Challenger (76904) set.

LEGO Speed Champions 2021 Set

Shared by Reddit user Samurai_Happy, this first look at set 76904 confirms the rumored list of LEGO Speed Champions 2021 2H sets that went around a couple of months ago. According to the eagle-eyed LEGO fan, he spotted this set on display at a Target store in Washington but was eventually prohibited from purchasing it since it was marked for release in August. Personally, it is kind of absurd to have restrictions like this considering that this set was already placed on display. However, August could be a release date specifically for other retailers and we can still expect this new LEGO Speed Champions 2021 set to be released in June just in time for summer.

The LEGO Speed Champions Mopar Dodge/SRT Top Fuel Dragster and 1970 Dodge Challenger (76904) set clocks in at 627 pieces and is expected to retail for $49.99. It’s basically a dual-pack that features a pair of Dodge’s iconic vehicles highlighting its past and present legacies on the race track. As a fan of classic muscle cars, I am personally looking forward to this brick version of the 1970 Dodge Challenger. And though the LEGO Speed Champions has produced a great line of brick speedsters throughout the years, there is only a handful of brick-built classic muscle cars that were added to its theme. We have 2017’s 1966 Ford GT40 from set 75881, the LEGO Speed Champions 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback (75884), and 2019’s 1970 Dodge Charger R/T from set 75893. I just hope that the LEGO Group will eventually develop a subtheme for the LEGO Speed Champions line that is dedicated to this beloved genre of classic cars.
