First Look at The New LEGO Technic Rough Terrain Crane (42082)

As early as December last year, we already reported a bunch of new LEGO Technic sets that will soon hit toy shelves this summer. These were eventually unveiled at this year’s New York Toy Fair but during which, photography was strictly prohibited with particular instructions to media not to post any of them in their sites or any other similar medium. This time around, LEGO may seemed to relax the embargo a little bit, and we’re now getting our first look at one particular set from this summer wave of LEGO Technic set.

Thanks to Zusammengebaut, we now have our first glimpse of the LEGO Technic Rough Terrain Crane (42082) which is now on display at the trade floor of a Russian toy fair, with no explicit photography restrictions this time. The following images eventually made their rounds over social media networks, particularly via Instagram.

The LEGO Technic Rough Terrain Crane (42082) set comes in at 4,057 pieces which is a sort of a re-make of 2007’s Rough Terrain Crane (8270), but in an obviously grander scale. In fact, the current Rough Terrain Crane is now by far the largest Technic set in terms of piece count, dethroning the Bucket Wheel Excavator (42055) from 2016 by 128 pieces. This upcoming set features a striking red color scheme and will also come with LEGO’s new set of Power Functions which is the XL Motor System.

It is expected to retail for 299.99 Euros, and is now listed for pre-order via Amazon France. According to the website, it is has an expected release date of August 1.
