LEGO Wizarding World Minisite in LEGO.com Now Up (and Under Development)

With so many entertainment franchises around us, branding has become an essential means of standing out. Warner Bros. had a brilliant idea going when with the impending release of the next installment for the Fantastic Beasts spinoff of the Harry Potter films they’d group the two together under one banner.

That’s why The Crimes of Grindelwald is now prefaced in its trailer with the “Wizarding World” label, covering the movie adaptations of the Harry Potter books by JK Rowling and the Fantastic Beasts films which have the British author as screenwriter. Companies making Potter-verse tie-in merchandise are now following suit.

Of course, that also includes LEGO. Already the official website has begun work on a Harry Potter mini-section to be branded after “JK Rowling’s Wizarding World™”. This of course is in line with both the impending premiere of The Crimes of Gridelwald and the wave of upcoming LEGO Potter sets.

Said LEGO merchandise is roughly divided into tie-ins for Harry Potter and for Fantastic Beasts. For the latter, we have the “Grindelwald’s Escape” set (yet unnumbered) that captures a scene from the film hinted at in its first trailer; for the former, we have the magnificent Hogwarts Great Hall (75954).

And the deluge will not be stopping there. Other products such as Harry Potter minifigure collections and BrickHeadz sets are still waiting in the wings for releasing later this year. It’s a sure bet that these items will be populating the Wizarding World section of LEGO.com once it’s fully operational.
