MOC Spotlight: Modififed Hulkbuster Ultron Edition (76105) By chubbybots Addresses Articulation Issues

MOCs we feature here at The Brick Show run the gamut from wholly original builds (some of which might be entries on LEGO Ideas), to alterations of official sets. The latter might be like turning a diner into a car showroom or replacing the ship model inside a bottle display.

And then there are “MOCs” that are simply “improvements” on official sets and models without drastically changing them beyond recognition. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes’ recently released Hulkbuster Ultron Edition (76105) was highly praised, but certain builders felt its range of articulation left some things to be desired, like the knees.

This is where LEGO Builder chubbybots comes in. He managed to cook up some little modifications to remedy the stiff articulation of the LMSH Hulkbuster Ultron Edition (76105) knees, and further refine that of its shoulders. How he did the alterations is (sort of) covered in his modification video.

Chubbybots didn’t make a list of what specific alternative elements he used to improve the range of motion for the Hulkbuster’s limbs, but the video does illustrate him rebuilding the model’s limbs to his ideal mod. The result is a more poseable model, and the replacement shoulder pieces are sweet.

If you’re interested in more humanoid LEGO model builds, be they alternate fixes or original creations, you can check out chubbybot’s YouTube channel for more videos in that vein. If he can solve the stiff knees the Hulkbuster Ultron Edition (76105) had, just imagine what more wonders he could do.
