Pentatonix, the American a cappella group known for their rendition of hit songs such as Somebody That I Used to Know and We Are Young (whose YouTube videos also went viral), is now immortalized in LEGO form through a charmingly hilarious music video just in time for Christmas. Showing their child-like and fun-loving side, they’ve teamed up with LEGO to create a music video for their latest upbeat Christmas song Up On The Housetop. Rendered in minifigure forms, the group’s music video offers a 360-degree view that is also watchable in VR. Watch this.
LEGO seems to be showing interest in VR technology, following the announcement of its upcoming LEGO BrickHeadz VR Builder for the Android system last week. The virtual reality game allows players to enter a colorful virtual room where they take on the role of a particular BrickHeadz and interact with the environment using Google’s proprietary VR headset. If you recall, LEGO launched its Brickheadz theme during July’s San Diego Comic Con, focusing on both DC and Marvel superheroes.

Needless to say the LEGO Batman Movie has teased on sets that are too wonderful to ignore, and thanks to Sophie from LCC Builders, we now have an idea of who made it in the A-list of its much anticipated Collectible Minifigure Series. There are twenty figures to collect which are expected to reach stores by January 2017 – just in time for the LEGO Batman Movie to hit the big screen in February. Tagged as set number 71017, the characters under this collection includes lesser known villains and some of Batman’s crazier outfits. There are no official images yet so we’ll have to leave it to our imaginations to figure out how these minifigures may look like. For one thing, we can safely assume that all these figures are unique in themselves, and none of them will be appearing exactly the same in standard LEGO Batman Movie sets similar to what LEGO did in the LEGO Movie.

The LEGO Batman CMF’s packaging will also have the same black and yellow color scheme similar to the theme’s larger sets. We don’t have any information yet about its box distribution, which is also important so collectors can understand the odds of finding the minifigure that they want. Like what Sophie said, I guess the Lobster-Lovin Batman will be a good catch.

Just a quick reminder to add this to your calendar. The Toys R Us Toy Book 2016 has already been released and with it the announcement of another LEGO promotional. A LEGO Nexo Knights Building Event is slated to take place on November 12 next Saturday from 12PM to 2PM at all TRU stores nationwide. The said building event allows children 6 years old and above to build and take home a FREE LEGO Nexo Knights monster and a chance gather several Nexo Powers inside the store through the Merlok 2.0 app.
If you recall, a similar promotional happened across TRU stores in Germany, where we saw the polybag’s pretty neat building instructions in its booklet form. The TRU LEGO Nexo Knights monster comes in at 58 pieces and its build bears close resemblance to a battle-ready LEGO Mixels Infernite that may easily pass as Burnzie’s smaller cousin.
Remember, like any other promotional, this free LEGO Nexo Knights monster set is only available while supplies last. Plus the fact that this TRU build and take home event is only for 2 hours, expect that this set will immediately be out of stock.
