LEGO Star Wars fans may find this as a welcome treat. TRU in the US will run an in-store event this Saturday, November 19, with a FREE LEGO Star Wars Stormtrooper minifigure up for grabs for store visitors and patrons. Not much has been said in their promotional ad as you can see below, except that it is a sort of a ‘scavenger hunt’ running only for two hours from 12PM to 2PM. There also seems to be no qualifying purchase so expect TRU stores to be jam-packed on this date and time.
What we can also assume from this ad is that the minifigure to be given away is the LEGO Star Wars Stormtrooper minifigure as he is seen from the LEGO Star Wars Rebels set from 2015 – the Imperial Troop Transport battlepack (75078).
It is interesting to note that this set features two variants of the said Stormtrooper: the one with a more determined look on its face, and the other with a smiling, more welcoming print. If the TRU giveaway up for grabs will be the latter, then this is one unique minifig that you can only find together with the Imperial Troop Transport. Watch’s Stephen’s review of the Imperial Troop Transport battlepack from 2014 to have a better look at this version of the TRU LEGO Star Wars Stormtrooper giveaway.
In similar news, if you happen to fancy yourself for a new set this weekend, then it is nice to know that TRU is still running its LEGO polybag promotional for a minimum purchase of $30 or more of any LEGO Star Wars or Friends set. As we shared in our previous post, it seems that the LEGO Star Wars Rebel A-Wing Pilot (5004408) and LEGO Friends Bowling Alley (30399) polybags are still available.
However, these are only available in-stores and are in limited quantities so expect that these polybags may no longer be available in some store branches. So if you have plans of visiting your local TRU store this Saturday for some new LEGO sets, be sure to be there before 12noon to get a chance to bring home some great minifigure finds.
