It seems that LEGO intends its new LEGO Hidden Side theme to have a tie-in TV series as well. This piece of info came from an unlikely source – a still yet to be released LEGO-themed book, the LEGO Hidden Side Guide to Ghost Hunting Book. The idea of having a dedicated TV series to help promote a newly launched LEGO theme is not entirely new to LEGO. We saw how LEGO came up with original content in the likes of Ninjago, Nexo Knights, and LEGO City just to name a few. And if you recall during SDCC 2019, LEGO animation producer Tommy Andreasen revealed a LEGO Hidden Side trailer that could easily pass as an introduction of sorts for a larger, wider TV series.
The LEGO Hidden Side Guide to Ghost Hunting Book is yet to appear at Amazon US, but here’s a quick blurb about the book as listed by Amazon UK and some of the interesting things that it reveals as well.
The LEGO Hidden Side Guide to Ghost Hunting Book
Step into the haunted town of Newbury and become an expert ghost hunter in this in-world guide based on LEGO Hidden Side toys and TV show! Plus, it includes a Hidden Side minifigure!
The LEGO Group’s newest IP, LEGO Hidden Side hits stores in fall 2019 with eight toy sets, followed by a TV series and even more toys in 2020! Kids can interact with these building sets using an augmented reality app that brings the models to life, using a smartphone or tablet camera to reveal a hidden world of interactive mysteries and challenges to solve. It’s a whole new world of play!
Welcome to the haunted town of Newbury, home of the LEGO Group’s newest original IP. In this new series of adventures, kids will join brother-and-sister duo Jack and Parker as they work to track down and reveal ghosts in order to turn their haunted town back to normal, one ghost at a time. This guide will be narrated by the main characters of the toys and TV show, and work with the LEGO app for an interactive reading experience all about finding and capturing ghosts! Plus, it comes with a LEGO minifigure!
Other than the announcement of the tie-in TV series, the book will also include an exclusive LEGO Hidden Side minifig. Though the book is slated to be launched in August next year, we can expect the series to air on an earlier date. The way I see it, a LEGO Hidden Side TV series is a great way to explore the many backstories in Newbury, and how our junior ghost hunters can bring back their ghost-riddled town back to normal.
The LEGO Hidden Side sets are now available at LEGO Shop@Home, featuring a new, AR-powered interactive play that kids will find fun and challenging. If you’re still holding back on purchasing these sets, then you might be interested to know that the LEGO Hidden Side Paranormal Intercept Bus 3000 (70423) and Newbury Haunted High School (70425) both comes with Double VIP points throughout the month of September. This is a great opportunity to stack up on those VIP points and take advantage of LEGO’s new VIP Rewards Program.
