More LEGO Batman Movie Rumored Sets That We Picked Up.

We recently featured a load of rumored LEGO sets – more than a hundred fifty to be exact – that are expected to debut in 2017 and covered almost all of LEGO’s active themes and upcoming movies as well. Two of these sets have been unveiled already with the announcement of the LEGO Batman Movie: The Batmobile (70905) and The Joker’s Notorious Lowrider (70906), and if we will take these reported rumors as true, then we can expect plenty more sets to arrive considering that there is a total of 15 expected sets that LEGO will release that will surely make the Caped Crusader beaming with smiles.

Other than the 2 confirmed sets mentioned above, LEGO is still understandably mum on the rest of the LEGO Batman Movie sets. However, LEGO insider Delta Customs may give us some hints on the shape of things to come. He shared several descriptions of these sets over at his Instagram account and credits them to a certain ‘Captain Unicorn’ (now, that’s something that you don’t hear everyday).

First off, is a possible LEGO Batman Movie Arkham Asylum that is expected to retail at around $100. According to Delta Customs, the size of this revamped ‘treatment center’ for Gotham’s criminally deranged villains will be almost as that of its predecessor, the LEGO DC Universe Superheroes Batman: Arkham Asylum Breakout (10937) released in 2013. However, this newer version will be based primarily on how the Asylum will be portrayed in the LEGO Batman Movie. What is interesting about the set is its sheer number of villains rendered in their minifigure forms. The rumored LEGO Batman Movie Arkham Asylum will feature a total of 12 minifigures: Batman, Barbara Gordon, Aaron Cash, 2 Arkham Guards, Harleen Quinzel (presumably in her professional outfit), Joker, Two-Face, the Riddler, and three more unnamed villains. The villains in this set are said to be in garbed in Arkham’s jumpsuits.

Next is a newer rendition of the Batcave as we saw it featured in the trailers. The supposedly new LEGO Batman Movie Batcave will particularly boast of with tons details such as the various Bat costumes of the Caped Crusader, a walkway leading to the Batcomputer similar to how it was shown in the official trailer, and an Alfred minifigure. Other highlights of the set include the Batboat and a brick-built duck ride for the Penguin and several of his arctic bird minions similar to that of the Wildlife Photographer as seen from LEGO’s CMF Series 16. The little penguins are seen carrying some attachments on their back.

In addition to this, we’ll be seeing the LEGO Batman Movie Batwing, though this one is different from the one seen in the trailer and is shaped more like a bat. The plane’s cockpit is the head of the bat, and a Poison Ivy minifigure will be included in the set.

Killer Croc is slated to be featured in the movie and he will also have a set dedicated to him. The LEGO Batman Movie Killer Croc Swamp set will feature a big fig version of the reptilian powerhouse, and it is rumored that this bigfig rendition will be as big as that of the Rancor as seen in LEGO Star Wars Rancor Pit 75005. That will be a huge plus point for this set in case this rumor turns out to be true. The Killer Croc Swamp set also comes with a buildable red pick up truck, swamp like builds, including a unique animal skull, and minifigures of Batman, Zebra Man, and Tarantula.

Other tidbits of info that Delta Customs shared about some of the sets also include:

  • A Mr. Freeze minifig in an exo-suit, Batman, and a hostage belonging to one of the smaller sets.
  • The Penguin will also get ‘a really cool car’, one that will rival Joker’s Notorious Lowrider.
  • Plenty of new, random minifigures: Tarantula, Zebra Man, Kite Man, Calendar Man.
  • Plenty of vehicles to go around for villains.

It will certainly be great to see these vehicles have their own sets.

In similar news, several sources over at Eurobricks also mention that a Catwoman bike set will also make its appearance and the one which most of us are waiting for, is a complete line up of collectible minifigures dedicated to the LEGO Batman Movie. It is reported to comprise of 20 minifigures instead of the usual 16.

Like any other rumor, we always everyone to bear in mind that these are all predictions and speculations unless the LEGO Group releases their official announcement. However, knowing that there are some folks who usually turn out to be 99% accurate in their predictions surely gives us something to look forward to.

Be sure to keep tabs with the LEGO Batman Movie’s official website for official announcements and other cool stuff. So what do you think about these rumors and predictions? What are you most excited about all of these? Share us your thoughts in the comments section below. Thanks to the Brick Fan for the tip.

LEGO Star Wars Rogue One TIE Striker 75154 Now Up At Target.

Following the ‘unintended’ reveal of Amazon Italy regarding LEGO’s latest Rogue Sets (sorry guys, we have to remove our previous post on this, including the pictures that goes with as per request of The LEGO Group), Target USA Online has just listed one of the elusive sets under the Rogue One banner: the LEGO Star Wars Rogue One TIE Striker 75154. The set comes in 543 pieces and includes 4 minifigures namely, a TIE Pilot, an Imperial Ground Crew, Imperial Shoretrooper, and an Endor Rebel Trooper. Again, we’re posting this under the assumption that Target, like Amazon, is one of LEGO’s legit partners so we don’t see anything wrong if we will repost their official listings here. Unless they left another curious Gungan to toy around with their database and cause havoc, then we will keep this post up here on our site.

With that being said, here’s Target’s official product description for the 75154, followed by some pretty neat high-res images. Thanks to Toys N Bricks for the heads up.

Whistle Along With Mickey With This LEGO Ideas Disney Classic Steamboat Willie.

‘A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step’. I can just imagine in my head how much Walt Disney would have nodded his head in agreement with this piece of oriental wisdom. In the case of LEGO builder szabomate90, the journey may well begin aboard a steamboat – the LEGO Ideas Disney Steamboat Willie, that is. We’ve featured several LEGO Ideas project, and Disney-themed MOCs here on our site, and this brick-built Steamboat Willie stands out not just because of the historic animation in which it represents, but also the build’s impressive monochromatic color scheme. Here’s how szabomate90 describes his LEGO Ideas Steamboat Willie.

Steamboat Willie is the first fully synchronized sound cartoon directed by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks. It was the debut of Mickey Mouse in a cartoon the first to be distributed and the third to be produced. So as an animator and a Lego fan I’d like to pay my respect to that marvelous production, which since was created then inspired a lot of talented artists.

Because Disney Minifigures arrived, I have the luck to create a Mickey Mouse related set with him as well. In addition, I repaint the figure to match the original 1928’s appearance. The model designed to be tiny, easy to build and playable. You can put Mickey Mouse inside the boat also you can play with the cranes. The set includes 156 bricks.

The customized black and white Mickey Mouse minifigure is absolutely gorgeous and accurate, giving the set a true vintage feel. It’s a fitting tribute to one of the pillars of Walt Disney Animations, especially that the landmark animated film will be celebrating its 90th year two years from now. It’s a perfect commemorative LEGO set that also celebrates the longstanding partnership between Disney and LEGO. If you wish to give two thumbs up for this LEGO Ideas Steamboat Willie and help it achieve its 10K mark, just head over to its project page and hit the Support button. You may also visit szabomate90’s Flickr page for more of his LEGO MOCs and builds.

More Than 150 New LEGO Sets Rumored To Debut In 2017.

We’re now halfway through year, and as expected, this is usually the time where we can hear reports of how the LEGO landscape will look once 2017 kicks in. Discussions are very much alive across LEGO fan forums, especially at Eurobricks, on what The LEGO Group has to offer by next year. We already had a glimpse of these through some of TLG’s initial reveals like the LEGO Batman Movie The Batmobile (70905) and LEGO Batman Movie The Joker’s Notorious Lowrider (70906) , LEGO Marvel Superheroes Hulk VS Red Hulk, the latest addition to the Mighty Micros series both from DC Comics and Marvel Superheroes lines, and a brick-built set of LEGO Ideas Adventure Time (21308).

Thanks to an excellent summary provided by the Brick Fan, we now have an overview of what to expect from LEGO with some of these sets now appearing in Brickset’s database with most of it coming from the LEGO Ninjago Movie slated to hit theaters sometime in September next year.  Again, be wary that some of these names and set numbers are not final, and were gathered from multiple sources across Eurobricks forums. With that out of the way, let’s now take a look at our list.

The LEGO Batman Movie

batmanlegologo-175512

There is a total of 15 reported sets that LEGO will release in line with the movie: 10 of it is slated to be released in the first half of 2017, while 5 of it for the latter half.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie

the-lego-ninjago-movie-logo

LEGO is fond of using code names for their later-to-be-revealed sets. Rumor has it that there will be a total of 13 sets that TLG will offer on the second half of 2017 just in time of the film’s theatrical debut in September 22, 2017.  Can you guess what these codes mean?

70614 Ninjago Movie JJ

And there we have it. If we counted it right that is a total of 153, all-new sets that LEGO is rumored to have in store for us in 2017. Again, as exciting as it may sound, we ought to grab the salt shaker and take these things with a grain of salt, and we don’t want to chase another cloud of smoke so to speak. Here’s How To Make Your Own Disney Mickey Mouse Tsum Tsum LEGO Mosaic.

A few months ago, we featured 8-Bit Hero’s interesting versions of our favorite Marvel loudmouth Deadpool, and one of DC’s formidable supervillain, Bane. Recreated in a LEGO mosaic that boasts of a classic 8-bit retro look, these mosaics have proven to be a hit with our fans and viewers.

Our thanks once again to Joshua Hesselgrave of 8-Bit Hero for providing us with yet another pretty neat pixilated masterpiece pattern that we bet you’ll enjoy. Fans of the adorable plush collection of Disney Tsum Tsums will be glad to know that they can now come up with their very own Disney Mickey Mouse Tsum Tsum LEGO mosaic with just a few simple bricks.

This is how our final build should look like after we’re done (look at the image below). For this, we’ll need the following 1×1 LEGO pieces, totalling to 330 pieces.

New LEGO Star Wars The Force Awakens – Phantom Limb Level Pack Now Available.

The Phantom Limb

PlayStation owners can now have access to an exclusive LEGO Star Wars The Force Awakens Level Pack entitled The Phantom Limb. The said Level Pack follows the story of C-3PO and his posse of droids as their ship crashes on the planet Taul, with its acid rain environment and droid-eating spiders. It is not exactly what you can call a vacation, especially for a protocol droid.

The Phantom Limb 02 The Phantom Limb 07

The story may well be considered as part of Star Wars canon as announced by the Lucasfilm story group last year, so it’s definitely an interesting take on the backstory of how C-3PO got his red arm, which was widely talked about since the debut of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.  Here’s WB Games UK’s description of this very intriguing Level Pack.

The Phantom Limb 06

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announced the release of The Phantom Limb Level Pack for LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, along with a new video showcasing this exciting downloadable (DLC) content, which is available today as a FREE download exclusively for players on PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system.

The Phantom Limb Level Pack extends the LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens experience, continuing the story from the Trouble Over Taul Level — one of the New Adventures set in the time leading up to the film — after C-3PO’s ship crash lands on the barren planet of Taul, allowing players to discover the thrilling events that led to his new red arm and reunion with the Resistance. This add-on content includes The Phantom Limb (Level), C-3PO (Taul), 2MED2, CO-34, GNK-189, MSE-Y, O-MR1 (Taul), PZ-99 (Taul), VL-44 (Taul), CR90 Corvette (Full-size Vehicle) and CR90 Corvette (Microfighter Vehicle).

The Phantom Limb Level Pack is only available via PS3 and PS4 consoles as a free download, however it expected that it will be available on other major gaming platforms later in the year. For the timing and release of all other DLC content, keep an eye on the LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Twitter,  Facebook,  Instagram and YouTube channels, and official website for details

This Is What A LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz and Funko Pop! Mash-Up Looks Like.

He left us ecstatic with his brick-built minifigures of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, and this time LegoJalex (aka Johan Alexanderson) is at it again with a cool line up custom-built LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz, with a wobble head twist. Even at first glance, his MOC was already impressive as it is, taking hints from LEGO’s recent line of BrickHeadz figures.

As adorable as it is with all of its chibi goodness, LegoJalex decided to add more fun into the mix by throwing in a bit of Funko Pop! magic. With a brilliantly simple mechanism, an antenna piece to be exact, he was able to transform a static build to a wobbly, bobble head figure. I suddenly want one on my desk. Take a look at how he did it.

What’s even better is that LegoJalex has just submitted his brick-built bobble head figures as a LEGO Ideas Project, similar to his Donald Duck’s Car – The 313. Here’s his thoughts on his Star Wars Bobbleheads project.

A bobblehead is a toy figure with an oversized head that is connected to the body with a spring. When you lightly tap on its head it wobbles (or bobbles) back and forth for a while. The first modern bobbleheads appeared in the 1950s.

I was thinking about how a bobblehead could be made by LEGO bricks, and how the wobbling effect could be built. There is no real LEGO spring that can be used for this purpose, so I had to think of something else to use. After some trial and error I found a simple technique using a LEGO antenna piece which creates a wobbling effect that works really well.

I decided to recreate six characters from the original Star Wars movie into LEGO bobbleheads – Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Boba Fett, Darth Vader and a Stormtrooper. Each character consists of between 80 to 100 pieces.

The LEGO bobblehead can, compared to the traditional bobbleheads, easily be rebuilt and the head can be detached and swapped with other bobblehead figures. The head can also be turned in all directions.

This is one project that is definitely getting my support. If you want to do the same, just head over at LEGO Ideas and  let your vote be counted!

Thanks to BrickNerd for the heads up.
