It’s Good To Be Bad With The LEGO DC Super-Villains NYCC Panel

New York Comic Con is fast approaching, and we can expect LEGO to make a huge splash in this year’s NYCC celebrations. Similar to last year’s LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2 panel at NYCC 2017, we can also expect Warner Bros Interactive and TT Games to be actively involved in the celebrations at the Javits Center starting this Thursday, October 4. We know that this latest LEGO video game title from WB and TT Games will have a stellar voice cast and a huge roster of playable DC villains, and this time around the LEGO DC Super-Villains NYCC panel will go out in sharing more details about this exciting, DC baddies inspired game.

According to a previous press release, the LEGO DC Super-Villains NYCC panel will give comic con attendees an inside look at the very first “villain-centric” video game that WB and TT Games collaborated on. Members of the panel will include Phill Ring (Executive Producer, TT Games), Ames Kirshen (Vice President, Interactive & Animation, DC Entertainment), Nyambi Nyambi (voice of Green Lantern), Grey Griffin (voice of Catwoman & Lashina) and Dee Bradley Baker (voice of Clock King & Desaad). If you’re all set to go to NYCC 2018, be sure to add this event to your Comic Con itinerary. The panel will be convening on Main Stage 1D of the Javits Center on October 4 at 12:45PM.

Additionally, NYCC attendees will also have the chance to be one of the very first fans to try this latest video game title. For a hands-on, try-before-you-buy experience, you may visit the DC Entertainment Booth (#SC01) during normal show hours of NYCC’s weekend events.

LEGO DC Super-Villains will be available on October 16, 2018 for PlayStation4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One X, Nintendo Switch and PC. Pre-ordering the Deluxe Edition entitles you to a free, early access to the game’s Season Pass plus an exclusive, Lex Luthor physical minifigure.

New LEGO DC Super-Villains Clip Reveals Darkseid Gameplay

Just in time before the New York Comic Con kicks in next week, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has just released a new LEGO DC Super-Villains gameplay video clip that highlights some of the things that you can expect from DC’s greatest baddie. Adding to the huge roster of playable characters that were revealed recently, we now have a glimpse of how the ruler of Apokolips will be like in this latest LEGO-inspired video game.

In this clip, you’ll see some of Darkseid’s in-game abilities such as flight, super strength, energy projection and use of alien technology. Brought to life by the haunting voice of Michael Ironside, Darkseid is bent in conquering the world using the nefarious Anti-Life Equation. The only question is how will our villainous heroes will be able to stop him.

Other than Ironside, the LEGO DC Super-Villains features a stellar voice-over cast, including Mark Hamill (The Joker), Kevin Conroy (Batman), Fred Tatasciore (Clayface, Doomsday, Killer Croc), Gina Torres (Superwoman), Brandon Routh (Shazam), Gilbert Gottfried (Mister Mxyzptlk), Mark Rolston (Deathstroke), and Scott Porter (Aquaman), among many others. And if you will be attending the New York Comic Con next week from October 4 to 7, be sure to drop by the DC Booth (#SC01) to have a firsthand experience on playing the LEGO DC Super-Villains. This latest LEGO video game offering from TT Games will be available across major gaming platforms (Playstation, Xbox, Switch and PC) starting October 16. Be sure to pre-order the Deluxe Edition to have early access to the game’s Season Pass and an exclusive Lex Luthor minifigure.

All LEGO DC Super-Villains Characters Revealed!

Yes, September’s almost over and then, WB Interactive and Traveller’s Tales can finally unleash their upcoming videogame title LEGO DC Super-Villains. This adventure on the other side of the DC character alignment promises a veritable load of playable characters both villain and hero. How many? Apparently, somebody just found out how to take a peek at all LEGO DC Super-Villains characters slated to appear in the video game.

YouTube gamer TheHiddenBlade01 has just uploaded a video that might have spoiled the who’s who of characters available in the upcoming LEGO DC Super-Villains. Footage includes a screenshot of the rumored complete character roster in what seems to be the select screen; the photo for Reverse Flash is enlarged as if the cursor was on him.

TheHiddenBlade01 also zooms in on the image several times to pick out details on the villain (and hero) characters that the LDCSV player will have access to. Villains like Catwoman, Clayface and Gorilla Grodd are obvious since they were featured in previous trailers, but why are the heroes included too?

Possible theories for having the DC superheroes on-board among the villains include being a bonus for completing the story campaign, or acquired from there being a secret scenario with them involved. “Enemy mine” team-up and (shock!) brainwashing are also offered as possibilities.

It seems authentic, but for now we’ll consider this screenshot a rumor and we’ll wait until LEGO DC Super-Villains is out before we pass judgment. Anyway, the game is available for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, and will be released October 16.

Edit: The character screen image was taken from a livestream of EGX 2018 in the UK, so it’s all but official and authentic. The Brick Fan has compiled a list of all LEGO DC Super-Villains characters shown in this footage as you can see below.

WATCH: LEGO DC Super Villains Extended Gameplay Video

Gamescom 2018 is now in full swing in Germany, where LEGO and Warner Bros Interactive took the stage to share an extended gameplay video (worth 19 minutes) in showcasing some of the things to be expected in their latest video game offering, LEGO DC Super Villains. We already know that the  game will feature a good deal of character customizations where players will get to take the role of Rookie – the player’s avatar that eventually evolves and upgrades as you go through the game’s overarching story. The video, which you can see below, is courtesy of IGN who is currently covering the events of Gamescom 2018 as they happen. Watch this.

The game starts with Commissioner Gordon paying the mastermind criminal extraordinaire Lex Luthor (who is now serving time in prison) in asking for help in defeating the current threat that Gotham City is facing. The player’s character simply called as Rookie, enters the game and the player is given five preset characters to choose from. Each preset character is further customizable in terms of its looks, costume, abilities, and weapons.

You can even determine the color of Rookie’s weapons using the game’s highly varied color palette. Once the player finalizes his/her selection, the game gives us a glimpse of the myriad of DC super villain characters that can be unlocked throughout the course of the game.  How many characters do you think are there?

As the story progresses, Lex Luthor does a daring escape from prison with the help of her loyal assistant and secretary Mercy Graves, bringing Rookie along with him. From there on, it’s a prison break mission and Rookie must find a way to the outside world while learning and absorbing new super powers at the same time. Furthermore, it looks like the first villains to be available at the player’s disposal (other than Luthor) will be Cheetarah and Solomon Grundy as Rookie help these baddies to escape. Typical of other LEGO video games, the LEGO DC Super Villains also features tons of breaking and re-creating LEGO sets and builds to progress in the game. Players can also change to up to 3 characters in-game depending on the challenge or task at hand.

The LEGO DC Super Villains video game is now available for pre-order, with the Deluxe Edition retailing for $75. It is slated to be released on October 16, 2018 and will be available across major gaming platforms (Playstation, Xbox, Switch, and PC).
