A design ahead of its time

The LEGO Technic Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 embodies the unmistakable power and stunning looks of the Lamborghini Sián both in design and style. The super sports car’s futuristic features are recreated in elaborate and authentic detail, bringing proud owners closer to the real model than they could ever imagine. These immersive touches include a replica of the Lamborghini Sián’s incomparable V12 engine, a rear spoiler that pops up like the real thing, front and rear suspension, and steering powered by a wheel adorned with the Automobili Lamborghini emblem.

In true Lamborghini style, the model also boasts scissor doors which open to reveal the perfectly recreated cockpit. Inside, the car’s luxurious interior has been intricately recreated with a fully-functioning 8-speed sequential gearbox triggered by a movable paddle gearshift.

Speaking about the visionary design, Niels. B. Christiansen, LEGO Group CEO, said: “This new model truly encapsulates the pursuit of excellence embedded in the DNA of both Automobili Lamborghini and the LEGO Group. Both the 1:8 model and the reveal itself are feats of engineering innovation, pulled off by incredibly talented teams from across our two businesses. The LEGO Technic Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 is a true testament that with LEGO® Technic, you can build anything your heart desires. I can’t wait to build this authentic replica of this futuristic super sports car for real.”

“The LEGO brick is an icon in the same way as a Lamborghini super sports car,” said Stefano Domenicali, CEO and Chairman of Automobili Lamborghini. “They both embody the pursuit of design perfection through constant research and development, create different emotions with every interaction, and are valued by generations. Each Lamborghini super sports car can be unique thanks to our Ad Personam personalization program and the specific driving style of each owner, just as LEGO bricks provide builders of all ages with endless possibilities for creation. This outstanding replica of the Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 from the LEGO Group presents a brilliant new building experience  for both super sports car fans and LEGO enthusiasts and Lamborghini is privileged to share in this opportunity with the LEGO Group.”

To make the building experience as thrilling and immersive as a spin behind the wheel of the real car, proud owners can also pop open the front hood to discover a stylish Lamborghini overnight bag and a unique serial number that unlocks special content at www.LEGO.com/lamborghini-sian.

An exclusive series of 13 videocasts featuring Automobili Lamborghini and LEGO experts can also be accessed through QR codes in two ‘coffee-table’ style collectors’ booklets that accompany the model. As fans work through the comprehensive building instructions, these videocasts delve deep into the inspiration behind different stages of the design. However, it is not just the building experience that is totally unique: the LEGO Technic Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 comes shrouded in a unique box inspired by the iconic lines, signature headlight silhouette and eye-catching colour of the original Lamborghini Sián.

LEGO Technic Lamborghini Sián (42115) Reveal Coming Soon

Earlier this year, LEGO has announced its first-ever collaboration with the Lamborghini company to offer the first LEGO Technic set centered on its latest flagship product. After several teasers on its social media sites, there’s strong reason to believe that this next big reveal will be the LEGO Technic Lamborghini Sián (42115).

According to LEGO’s latest tweet, the full reveal of this set will happen tomorrow on May 28.

Following the tradition of other LEGO partnerships with world-class automotive companies such as Porsche and Bugatti, LEGO has now teamed up with Automobili Lamborghini to create a brick-rendition of the latter’s Sián FKP 37. The Sián is the company’s first hybrid super sports car powered by a V12 engine, and running on hybrid technology using supercapacitors.

Lamborghini Sián (42115)
The inspiration behind LEGO’s latest flagship Technic set is the super sports car Lamborghini Sián

If you will look closely at LEGO’s most recent tweet, the headlights of its upcoming flagship LEGO Technic set bears a very close resemblance to that of the Lamborghini Sián. Its sides also match that of the super sportscar which comes in an olive-green color theme. As such, the LEGO Technic Lamborghini Sián (42115) is the third set in the line of the LEGO Technic Ultimate Series following the Porsche 911 GT3 RS (42056) in 2016 and Bugatti Chiron (42083) in 2018.

Here’s what Niels Henrik Horsted, LEGO Technic Marketing Director, has to say about this new partnership with Automobili Lamborghini:

“Following the success of the former Ultimate models, both the Porsche and the Bugatti, it was crucial for us to find a new partner with an iconic vehicle, an unmistakable design DNA and ground breaking use of technology.”

Lamborghini Sián (42115)

The LEGO Technic Lamborghini Sián will be available in LEGO brand stores and at LEGO Shop@Home starting June 1, 2020, with the grand unveiling to be done tomorrow. Be sure to keep tabs with LEGO’s official web and social media channels to catch this big reveal, or you may bookmark our blogsite to keep you notified.

New Film-Inspired Licensed LEGO Sets Now Available at LEGO Shop@Home

LEGO Shop@Home has updated its listing to now include several tie-in sets based on upcoming films. Universal Pictures’ Minions The Rise of Gru, and Warner Bros’ Wonder Woman 1984 may have been rescheduled unfortunately due to the coronavirus pandemic, but this has not derailed LEGO from its plans of releasing their respective LEGO sets this April, including a LEGO Technic set devoted to the Fast & Furious film franchise. These latest film-inspired licensed LEGO sets are now up at LEGO’s online shopping portal, all of which can be conveniently ordered online now that LEGO Stores are temporarily closed in compliance with the government’s stay-at-home guidelines.

However, please take note that in the case of the LEGO Minions sets, not all of them are available for the time being. If you recall, LEGO initially listed five sets under this theme last February but has to eventually remove three of them from their current line-up probably due to the eventual rescheduling of its tie-in film. I understand that some of these sets may offer a potential spoiler for the film so we might have to wait until July of next year when the movie is set to be released.

The LEGO DC Superheroes Wonder Woman vs Cheetah (76157) set, on the other hand, is now released months ahead of the theatrical debut of the DCEU sequel Wonder Woman 1984. Initially considered to be a Target store exclusive, its good to see that it will also be available directly from LEGO. The set itself does not spill any major plot points, except showing us how a version of Cheetah may look like in minifig form and the confrontation between them at the transmitter tower.

Finally, LEGO motorheads will be glad to know that the LEGO Technic Dom’s Dodge Charger (42111) from the Fast & Furious films is now also up LEGO Shop@Home. Based on the classic 1970s Dodge Charger R/T, the set is an authentic replication of the iconic muscle car.

LEGO Technic Dom’s Dodge Charger (42111) Set Images Released

A while ago, I mentioned about the upcoming LEGO Technic set that takes inspiration from the high-octane film franchise, Fast & Furious. We had a glimpse of this set thanks to an official LEGO brand store flyer from China. And knowing that the official release date of the set is slated for April 27, we can also expect more info to come in as we go through the week. However, it seems that 3rd-party LEGO retailers are also eager to share the news. Thanks to Brickshop, we now have a closer look at the LEGO Technic Dom’s Dodge Charger (42111).

LEGO Technic Dom's Dodge Charger

Coming in at 1,077 pieces, this latest brick collaboration between LEGO and Universal Pictures brings to life one of the most iconic muscle cars featured in the Fast & Furious films. The LEGO Technic Dom’s Dodge Charger is a tribute to the vehicle of choice of Vin Diesel’s Dominic Torreto. The set is based on the 1970 Dodge Charger R/T, modified to include an oversized V8 engine block for that extra horsepower. Additionally, Brickshop also included what seems to be the set’s official LEGO description published in Dutch. Here’s a rough Google translation in case you need to know.

A Glimpse at the new LEGO Technic Dodge Charger (42111)

When news came out that LEGO will be working on a new LEGO Technic set to commemorate the long-running Fast & Furious franchise, there have been well-grounded speculations that this new set might be based on a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS from the first film. However, this turns out to be false now that we have our first look at the upcoming LEGO Technic Dodge Charger (42111).

lego store calendar china
A flyer from a LEGO Store in China gives us a glimpse of the upcoming LEGO Technic Dodge Charger (42111).

The said image above, courtesy of Leganerd, was taken from a LEGO Store flyer in China. The said store calendar specifically states that the new LEGO Technic Dodge Charge (42111) will be available beginning April 27, consistent with The LEGO Group’s official press release, while LEGO shopping portal Pricevortex lists the set for 99.99 Euros.

On a personal level, I prefer this choice for a LEGO Technic Dodge Charger over the Mitsubishi  Eclipse, being a fan of classic muscle cars. If you recall, this Dodge Charger was the vehicle of choice for Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto throughout the Fast & Furious franchise. It is based on a modified 1970 Dodge Charger R/T with its signature engine block prominently sticking out of its hood. There have been several modifications of this muscle car throughout the film series, but I think this particular LEGO Technic set pays homage to the vehicle that Dom first used in the original film back in 2001.

The original 1970 Dodge Charger used in the first The Fast & The Furious film in 2001.

There are no further details regarding the LEGO Technic Dodge Charger (42111) as of the moment save for its release date and expected retail price. And given that it will retail for 99.99 Euros, we can somehow assume that it will be on the same scale as that of the LEGO Technic Rally Car (42077), slightly smaller to that of the LEGO Creator Expert Ford Mustang (10265). As a side note, this is not the first time that LEGO will be offering a brick-built Dodge Charger. In fact, it will be nice to see this upcoming LEGO Technic set alongside last year’s LEGO Speed Champions 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon and 1970 Dodge Charger R/T (75893).

75893 alt2
LEGO’s first model of the classic Dodge Charger in this LEGO Speed Champions 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon and 1970 Dodge Charger R/T (75893) set.

Since the release date is set for April 27, and LEGO has been actively marketing this in the Asian region, then we can expect some official news or press release from LEGO anytime soon. Thanks again to Leganerd for the heads up, with additional info from Promobricks.

More LEGO Technic 2020 Sets On Display at the Nuremberg Toy Fair

As it seems, there is more to LEGO’s lineup of LEGO Technic 2020 sets other than the officially revealed LEGO Technic Lamborghini and Fast & Furious sets. As shared by Zusammengebaut over at the International Toy Fair in Nuremberg, Germany, there are more of these series of sets to be expected in the latter half of the year.

Since photography is not allowed, let’s try to make sense out of everything that was reported at Nuremberg. For starters, the following are the confirmed LEGO Technic 2020 sets as they were put on display.

LEGO Technic 2020 Sets
  • Ducati Panigale V4R Motorrad (42107) – €59.99
  • Concrete Mixer Truck (42112) – 99.99
  • Bell Osprey Boeing Helicopter (42113) – 129.99
  • Volvo 6X6 Loader (42114) – 249.99

Right off the bat, the Ducati Panigale V4R Motorrad (42107) features a predominantly red Ducati motorbike which includes a new LEGO piece used for the brake pad. At 59.99 Euros, we can expect this to be on the same level as to that of the LEGO Technic BMW R 1200 GS Adventure (42063) released in 2017. This latest LEGO Technic motorbike is expected to arrive in stores sometime in June.

The Concrete Mixer Truck (42112) comes in with a dark blue color scheme, and consisting of both Technic and System pieces. Like other sets in this new series, the Concrete Mixer Truck has new LEGO pieces offered, particularly in interesting dark blue cast parts made specifically for this set.

The Bell Osprey Boeing Helicopter (42113) features a black and orange color scheme and sports a dual-propellers similar to its actual counterpart. These propellers do not include the new Powered Up motor functions unlike the flagship set of this series.

bell boeing v22 osprey
The massive dual-propeller Bell Bell Osprey Boeing Helicopter will now have an official LEGO Technic set.

Speaking of a flagship set, the Volvo 6X6 Loader (42114) is the cream of the crop of this series and comes in with an impressive 2,193 pieces, Control+ features such as two L-motors, two XL-motors, and one horizontal motor. It will also come with articulated steering together with other functions such as tilt, forward and backward motion. Expect this set to be the priciest in this wave, retailing for 249.99 Euros.

These are all new and exciting LEGO Technic sets considering that there has been none like these that were previously released under the Technic theme. And with other upcoming sets based on high-end sports cars, this particular wave of LEGO Technic 2020 sets will be kind of difficult to give a pass.

LEGO Confirms A New LEGO Technic Fast & Furious Set

Towards the end of 2019, there was a rumor that went rounds within the LEGO fan community that speaks of a partnership between LEGO and Universal Pictures to specifically promote the Fast & Furious film franchise. And this time, along with many other set reveals that went out recently, LEGO has finally confirmed that an upcoming LEGO Technic Fast & Furious set is now in order.

Further information about the LEGO Technic Fast & Furious set, which is for ages 10 years and above, will be revealed later this year and will be in stores globally from April 27, 2020.

1995 mitsubishi eclipse
Will this new LEGO Technic Fast & Furious set be based on Brian O’Conner’s 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS? We’ll soon find out.

It looks like LEGO is further expanding its portfolio of sets that specifically caters to AFOLs, all based from mainstream film and TV franchises. A few months ago, LEGO has also entered into a partnership with BBC in coming up with a LEGO Technic App-Controlled Top Gear Rally Car (42109). There was also the highly in-demand LEGO Ideas Central Perk (21319) based on highly popular FRIENDS TV series.  Now that we’re looking forward to a LEGO Technic Fast & Furious set, is this a sign of things to come for more LEGO sets geared towards adult fans? 2020 is certainly an exciting year.

We’re Getting our Very First LEGO Technic Lamborghini In June 2020

This week has seen a slew of LEGO news – from the official reveal of LEGO DOTS, to the new LEGO sets being introduced at Nuremberg Toy Fair in Germany, and now to one that caters to older LEGO fans. LEGO has just announced that starting June this year, fans of the Technic theme have something to look forward to, the first-ever LEGO Technic Lamborghini set.

scaled Teaser Poster
A teaser poster for the LEGO Technic Lamborghini (42115)

Based on their press release, this LEGO Technic Lamborghini set will be part of what the LEGO Group dubs as the LEGO Technic Ultimate Series which began with the Porsche 911 GT3 RS (42056) from 2016, and Bugatti Chiron (42083) from 2018. Based on its predecessors, this upcoming Lamborghini-inspired Technic set will similarly follow a 1:8 scale, featuring a highly sophisticated build, designed to imitate its real-life counterpart.

The new 1:8 scale set will launch in summer 2020 and will be the third model in the LEGO Technic Ultimate series, following on from its hugely popular predecessors, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS in 2016 and Bugatti Chiron in 2018. For fifty years, Automobili Lamborghini has produced beautifully designed, iconic super sports cars that are instantly recognisable. This new partnership will see Lamborghini and LEGO Technic joining forces to deliver the engineering excellence and design flair that both companies have become famous for. With the possibility of constructing transmissions, differentials and gearing systems, LEGO Technic is an advanced building experience that many fans find challenging yet rewarding. When you build with LEGO Technic, you learn how to Build for Real.

We have no further info or images available about this set, save for the teaser poster above. It’s really hard to figure out what particular Lamborghini model this is. It can be based on the existing Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO, or it can be an entirely new model. We just have to wait and see.

Brickset has also listed this as LEGO Technic Lamborghini (42115), and we can expect this to have an early VIP release on June 1.  So what do you think this new LEGO Technic Lamborghini will look like? Shout out your comments below.
