San Diego Comic-Con 2019 is almost upon us and with roughly 24 hours left before the gates of the San Diego Convention Center open its gates to the throng of the SDCC faithful, LEGO has revealed another brick statue that will be on display at the LEGO Booth #2829. Just in time with the Dark Knight’s 80th anniversary this 2019, LEGO revealed a brick-built, life-sized LEGO DC Batman statue that will be put on display together with the previously reported LEGO Star Wars Sith Trooper and LEGO Marvel Endgame Iron-Man statues, making this LEGOlized version of the Dark Knight the third brick statue that will welcome guests at the LEGO Booth.

What’s even more impressive is the fact that this LEGO DC Batman statue will be displayed alongside a massive LEGO mosaic that features a variant cover of DC Comic’s Detective Comics Issue #1000. The Batman statue weighs in at 225 pounds with 44,051 LEGO bricks used to build the Dark Knight at this life-sized scale. The mosaic, on the other hand, is built using more than twice the number of LEGO pieces clocking in at 96,768 pieces.

As mentioned, this year’s San Diego Comic-Con is particularly significant to our Dark Knight since 2019 marks his 80th year anniversary of being one of DC’s superhero icons. Other than this statue, LEGO pays its tribute to Batman through its various exclusive SDCC 2019 merchandise such as the LEGO DC Comics The Dark Knight of Gotham City (77903) set and the LEGO DC Comics Zebra Batman minifig, both of which will be available to Comic-Con attendees via electronic raffle.
