Life Size LEGO Star Wars Sith Trooper Statue to Debut at SDCC 2019

Sith Trooper Statue

San Diego Comic-Con 2019 is fast approaching and with the recent reveal of the LEGO Star Wars Sith Trooper Bust (77901), LEGO and Lucasfilms have lifted the veil for yet another evolution of the terrifyingly efficient footsoldier of the Star Wars franchise. And just in time for next week’s SDCC’s celebration, LEGO pays tribute to this new Star Wars character in the most glorious way possible: in LEGO bricks of course. This life-sized LEGO Star Wars Sith Trooper statue will be displayed at the LEGO Booth during SDCC to greet the throngs of fans who will flock grandest comic book convention on the face of the planet.

This brick-built, Sith Trooper statue is a life-sized creation made up of 34,307 LEGO pieces, weighs almost 80 kilos and stands at 6 feet 2 inches tall. With a total of 250 hours of design and building time under its belt, this recent LEGO masterpiece is a sight to behold. This new version of the First Order Stormtrooper comes in a very intimidating red color scheme which reminds me of the Elite Praetorian Guards seen in The Last Jedi.

If you recall from last year’s SDCC and those prior to it, it has been a tradition for LEGO to release such brick-built statues which also acts as a marketing tool to promote upcoming films and TV series. We saw the magnificent brick statue of Thanos striking a pose while wielding the Infinity Gauntlet.  The latest incarnation of Doctor Who that also received the LEGO treatment in last year’s SDCC with her very own brick-built statue and Ultrakatty which looks surprisingly intimidating in her battle mode just in time for The LEGO Movie 2 promotions.

Since LEGO usually reveals two or three brick statues of this kind during San Diego Comic-Con, we can somehow expect that there are still more to come as we count the days before SDCC.
