Next month also marks the release of the much-awaited, and long overdue LEGO Creator Expert Roller Coaster (10261) starting June 1, with early VIP access beginning May 16. Other exciting sets slated to be released by next month are the LEGO City Artic sets and the sophisticated LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron (42083).

Release Countdown Clock for LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron (42083) Now Up

Good things come to those who wait; and LEGO builders who are also aficionados for quality automobiles can soon count the days towards the release of a collaboration effort with Bugatti towards recreating their TRON-like Chiron sports car in LEGO Technic (42083). LEGO in fact, will help keep count.

If one were to take a look at the dedicated mini-page for the LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron (42083) on LEGO.com, they’ll find that the company has installed a countdown timer for the release of the set. You read it right; it’s only about a month or so away before hitting stores.

lego timer 42083

LEGO’s well aware of the interest and demand from Technic builders and car nuts for the Chiron (42083), so they’ve been kind enough to move it several times to earlier dates. Officially it becomes available starting June 1, but LEGO VIP members might get it as early as May 16.

That said, the countdown clock’s been the only significant update on the status of the LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron (42083). It would’ve been nice if they had another teaser to show, but fret not; check the previous one instead. It’s coming in one more month so mark your event calendars.

LEGO Creative Storybook (40291) – First Seen on LEGO Germany Promo Flyer

It’s starting to look like Germany may be trying to pull a turnaround where it comes to the trend of decreasing popularity (and sales) for LEGO in that country lately. They’ve already set up a “Make & Take” event there at local Toys R Us stores (German ones still operating).

Now, LEGO Germany is getting the drop on most other major markets around the world with the release of their promo flyer for May-June 2018. One of these items is a limited-time giveaway set that might look familiar to those who’ve been keeping up with LEGO Ideas’ currently-running Reviews Stage.

Said giveaway is from the LEGO Creative Storybook (40291), featuring Denmark’s eternally remembered author of fairy tales, Han Christian Andersen. The design is a diorama shaped like a pop-up storybook, with Hans writing a story on one page while the other side depicts a scene from The Ugly Duckling.

There’s been no word yet on when the Creative Storybook (40291) will be made available for sale or promo giveaway outside of Germany. For now, the set is available to LEGO Shop customers in that country for every total purchase of at least €65. The promo also runs from June 4-24.

Meanwhile, the ongoing LEGO Ideas 2017 Third Review Stage also includes a submission called Pop-Up Book by JK Brickworks. It looks like a larger take on the LEGO Creative Storybook set. One must wonder if the similarity might preclude Pop-Up book from passing now, but the final decision’s still a ways off.

More Images of the LEGO Ninjago Movie Ninjago City Docks (70657) Released

A couple of days ago, Italian online retailer Radio Kontrol gave us our first look of the LEGO Ninjago Movie Ninjago City Docks (70657). Though the site only gave us a glimpse by posting the set’s box art, this time thanks to Alternate, we now have our first batch of official set images.  The Ninjago City Docks (70657) is expected to hit store shelves by June 1, retailing for 244 Euros in France and 230 Euros in Germany. As a sort of expansion set for your ever growing LEGO Ninjago City, the Ninjago City Docks acts like a modular add on to the Ninjago City (70620) set using several Technic pins. However, it is still a complete set all on its own.

Amazon France also posted a brief description of the Ninjago City Docks (70657), and here’s a copy of that in English via Google Translate, followed by additional images.

“Lloyd, Cole and his friends had a great time in The LEGO NINJAGO MOVIE ™ 70657 The NINJAGO Docks and defends against the attacks of Garmadon. This richly detailed complex includes a port with a functional crane, a boat, as well as 2 levels of Old World locations, including a grocery store with a flip-flop and rotating rotisserie, a house with a card room, a kitchen/bedroom, a sculptor’s workshop and a dojo Discovery of the life of a citizen of NINJAGO city including a tea room and an arcade room with interchangeable billboards, arcades to build, a functional distributor and a “balloon” in pig shape attached to the roof. Finally – A LEGO City Hospital (60204) Set That Is Long Overdue!

I say that any LEGO City is obviously lacking without this one, and it looks like LEGO has finally heard our cries for a proper City hospital. Thanks to The Brothers Brick, we now have our first images of the LEGO City Hospital (60204). Those who are into the LEGO City theme and MOCs by heart, knows very well that a LEGO City Hospital set is way long overdue. Though the Friends theme managed to have the Heartlake Hospital (41318) from last year, it is was 6 years ago since we had our first hospital-inspired City build with LEGO City Helicopter Rescue (4429), which in all honesty, looks more like a typical clinic rather than a complete hospital.

The LEGO City Hospital (60204) features a three-storey building, an ambulance, an emergency helicopter, and a dozen minifigures including a baby minifig. It also has some pretty interesting accessories such as a wheelchair, a baby stroller, and a light brick. A like the clever use of the light brick to act like a sort of projector for an x-ray machine. It is said to come in at 861 pieces and is expected to retail for 80 Euros. We have no info yet on its exact release date but we’ll update you as soon as more news comes in. For now, let’s enjoy these images.

Official Images of LEGO City Outdoor Adventures (60202) Revealed

It was like only just this weekend when LEGO gave a lot of (freezing) cool love to its City lineup when it released the official images for a subtheme in the Arctic. You might recall there were seven LEGO City Arctic sets there (60190-60196) to build a polar base.

60202 9

But if you happen to like any other location than the freezing topmost north for your LEGO City-building, then perhaps this alternative will be to your liking. There’s another LEGO City set coming our way that trades the frigid Arctic for the Outdoors: LEGO City People Pack – Outdoor Adventures (60202).

60202 3

60202 2

As with most of the reveals that happened over the weekend, this news came from another outside source, a Sarajevo store certified for LEGO. For only 164 pieces and 13 (plus one baby) minifigures, you can recreate a sweet nature park with a variety of activities with some video documentation.

60202 7 60202 6

By that we mean Outdoor Adventures (60202) comes with a sports camera and a mobile phone with selfie stick. That’s not to mention some new additions like a differently-colored mountain bike and redesigned optional life jackets. Oh, and who can resist a little LEGO tile that depicts a fried egg?

60202 1

60202 5

Now, aside from the knowledge that LEGO City 60202 exists, we have yet no idea when it’ll be announced for anywhere outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the moment. Hopefully we’ll get more international updates on this LEGO City People Pack, so it won’t be left behind by the Arctic.

A Closer Look At The LEGO Creator Pirate Roller Coaster (31084)

After last week’s reveal by Amazon France of the latest LEGO Creator sets to watch out for this summer, we finally had a glance of one of the most anticipated LEGO Creator 3-in-1 set around. We first knew that this set is happening since December of last year when we first spotted some preliminary set images of the LEGO Creator Pirate Roller Coaster (31084). This time, Promobricks has just shared our first batch of high-res images for us to look closer, and appreciate this awesome 3-in-1 set around, perhaps even better than the groundbreaking LEGO Batman Movie The Joker Manor (70922).

Obviously, the main selling point of the set is its roller coaster assembly using LEGO’s latest track pieces. However, LEGO pushes the envelope further by offering it as a 3-in-1 set.  The LEGO Creator Pirate Roller Coaster can be modified to suit your fancy and LEGO has even three particular suggestions on how you can do this. As it is, there are three variant models in which you can build various Pirate themed park rides.

The first and main set is the Pirate Roller Coaster itself that measures 26 inches long and 13 inches wide, which is already considerably large as compared to other Creator sets in the same line. The visual feast and vibrant color scheme of this set is simply superb.

31084 6 31084 5

The second variant allows you to build a sort of Pirate Ship Swing using two track pieces, complete with a ticket booth and a shooting gallery. I find it kind of hilarious that LEGO opted to use a cannon for that matter – a bit of an overkill, but still funny.

31084 4 1 31084 2 1

The final variant which is the smallest of the three is a Pirate Carousel which uses two semi-circular track pieces to make a complete circle. Though the Carousel is relatively small as compared to the Swing, I’m impressed on how designers came up with the mechanism to turn this Pirate ride around. As the image suggest, turning the brown tub piece will also spin the skull-themed carousel.

31084 3 1 31084 7

The LEGO Creator Pirate Roller Coaster (31084) comes in at 923 pieces and will retail for 79.99 Euros. Are you excited to pick this up once it comes out in June? Let us know in the comments below.
