Cartoon Network Announces “Unikitty” Animated Series Premiere Dates.

Remember back in October when Cartoon Network showed special previews of a new LEGO (2D) animated series starring Princess Unikitty, the Master Builder unicorn-cat-thingy from The LEGO Movie of 2014? As we reported before, they were but a taste of a full cartoon series about Unikitty and her friends that’s slated to premiere next year.

That was all the information given back then. No specific date as to when Cartoon Network will start up the Unikitty! series in 2018; but not anymore. CN just issued a statement revealing the premiere of the “fun-fun-fun” LEGO animated cartoon series. They mean to have it kick off with another special airing on the first day of the year, January 1 itself.

What’s more, this special Unikitty! showing is not just one, but six new episodes, aired every hour starting 6AM (ET/PT). The episode titles released thus far are: “Action Forest,” “Kaijuu Kitty,” “Fire & Nice,” “Rock Friend,” “Kitchen Chaos” and “Crushing Defeat.” Here are brief descriptions of each episode as mentioned in Turner Broadcasting’s official press release via BrickFanz.

6:00 a.m. (ET/PT): “Action Forest” – Hawkodile is the toughest action hero in the land, until his old rival shows up to take vengeance on him. Defeated and in need of help, Hawkodile must train Unikitty and the others into super muscle?y tough bros. And there’s only one place unstoppable warriors are made, the Action Forest.

7:00 a.m. (ET/PT): “Kaiju Kitty” – When a giant monster attacks the Unikingdom, the gang fights back with Dr. Fox’s awesome new secret weapon: a massive mega robot!

8:00 a.m. (ET/PT): “Fire & Nice” – When Master Frown causes Unikitty to have an angry outburst that gets a little too destructive, she wishes her Rage Kitty side wasn’t part of her anymore. Thanks to a new Dr. Fox invention, she gets her wish.

9:00 a.m. (ET/PT): “Rock Friend” – Unikitty discovers Puppycorn’s only other friend is a boring old rock. Encouraged to “make more friends,” Puppycorn takes her advice and decides to literally make a new friend out of the best parts of his friends.

10:00 a.m. (ET/PT): “Kitchen Chaos” – After a workplace injury, Richard is unable to do his servant work. Unikitty and the others take on the task of one simple chore, clean the kitchen. This incredibly boring task taxes our heroes as they find every way possible to not do it.

11:00 a.m. (ET/PT): “Crushing Defeat” – When Hawkodile develops a secret crush on Dr. Fox, he finds himself actually crushing down in size! Unikitty and the gang become his love gurus to help him confess his feelings before he shrinks away into nothing.

Once the special January 1 airing is done with, the Unikitty! series starts off for real on Friday, January 5. More new episodes of the show will air on Cartoon Network every Friday afterwards, at 6:30PM (ET/PT).

Unikitty! chronicles the adventures of the titular Princess Unikitty (Tara Strong) of Cloud Cuckoo Land, first seen in The LEGO Movie. Here’s the title theme again (performed by Babymetal) so you can get into it.

The series focuses on her everyday life and challenges in running her kingdom, looking after her brother Puppycorn (Grey Griffin), and venting her hidden rage at anybody messing with the positive vibes in her land – like villain Master Frown (Eric Bauza) – with the help of her allies Dr. Fox (Kate Miccuci), Hawkodile and Richard (both Roger Craig Smith).

First Look at New Seasonal LEGO BrickHeadz Valentine’s Bee (40270) Set.

LEGO could always be counted on to have some set or other ready to be released or made available throughout the various seasons of the year. For the coming New Year however, they appear to be expanding from the expected general minifigure collections, play sets and models, and expanding into some of their more recent product lines.

One such theme that has begun showing seasonal trappings is LEGO BrickHeadz, the line featuring super-deformed depictions of numerous franchise characters from various brands. I need not remind you of the BrickHeadz sets coming out for Rey and Kylo Ren (41489), and the Justice League, and Darth Vader (also for next year).

Well, here comes the first – and likely not the last – seasonal BrickHeadz set to be released by LEGO, this one being for Valentine’s Day 2018. It’s the Valentine’s Bee (40270), a black-and-yellow bee with antennae, beady eyes, rosy cheeks, white wings, and carrying a honeycomb and heart.

BrickHeadz set 40270 has 140 pieces in all, assembling not only the Valentine’s Bee and its handheld accessories, but also its platform which can be decorated by LEGO-brick rose bushes, sunflowers and white buds. It will come out next year, naturally, and will likely cause about $9.99, the same as other BrickHeadz sets. That’s something to look forward to for a cute Valentine’s gift.

A First Look at the LEGO Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina (75205).

We already know who shot first, so the only question is, how will the most wretched hive of scum and villainy fare in LEGO’s latest brick-built iteration? A few days ago, we reported on a certain rumor that has been making rounds over the Internet for quite some time already, and since we ran that article, we have to clarify some points that were raised about it. The Mos Eisley Cantina certainly ranks as one of the most iconic locations in Star Wars lore – so much so that LEGO has already released two versions of this fateful encounter between Han Solo and Greedo.

The first LEGO Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina (4501) was released back in 2003, coming in at 193 pieces. The second version of the Cantina came in 2014, with set 75052 and having a total number of 615 pieces. The latter features a different take on the Cantina by adding several details that are not included in the first set such as the Bith Musicians, and the thick-skinned reptilian Dewbacks. Now it seems that the rumors might as well be set in stone. Instagram user Maru just recently shared a thumbnail of an image of how LEGO’s latest version of the Mos Eisley Cantina will be like. Apparently, it seems that this particular image is taken from a page of a toy catalogue, and since it doesn’t have a confidential watermark, then I guess LEGO will not hound us upon posting this (I hope).

Rebelscum also mentioned that given how this latest Cantina looks like, the set will come in at 376 pieces. If you noticed each brick-built version of the Mos Eisley Cantina somehow builds upon each other, particularly to the variety of minifigure offerings on each set. The second set, 75052, boasts as the largest LEGO Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina set, with a total number of 615 pieces used to create it. However, what is unique to this latest version of the Cantina in set 75205 is the introduction of new minifigure character – Wuher the Bartender. I am re-posting the above image here just in case this Instagram post silently disappears.

The LEGO Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina (75205) is expected to retail in the US for $39.99, made of 376 pieces. It has four minifigures, namely: Han Solo, Greedo, Stormtrooper (without the pauldron), and the latest addition, the bar keeper, Wuher. Here’s another closer image of the minifigures in this set courtesy of Rebelscum.

So what do you think of this latest LEGO Star Wars sets? Do you think it was nice of LEGO to offer another Mos Eisley Cantina, or do you have something else in mind? Let us know in the comments below.

Marvel HQ Presents All Episodes of LEGO Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Thanos Threat

Watch the LEGO Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Thanos Threat right here!

Back in May, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 came out in cinemas courtesy of Marvel Studios, engaging fans anew in another adventure with the intergalactic mercenaries set to awesome oldie music.

A couple of months later, at July’s D23 Expo, Marvel announced another collaboration with LEGO for a special animated miniseries in the form of the LEGO Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Thanos Threat. The two companies are old hands in this sort of cross-promotion after all, like below.

LEGO Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Thanos Threat is the Newest Collaboration Between LEGO and Marvel Studios

Said special was to be entitled LEGO Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Thanos Threat. A few months after that, apparently, no word has come out on whether or not the miniseries has already started showing. As it turns out, The Thanos Threat actually is showing now.

That’s because the LEGO Marvel miniseries is currently uploaded as videos on the Marvel HQ channel on YouTube. The first episode was actually put up last month, November 24. And the reason we’re covering this now is because the fifth and final episode of The Thanos Threat was uploaded last Saturday, December 9.

Now fans of Marvel and LEGO can enjoy this awesome yet quirky animation in the LEGO style online because apparently Marvel isn’t putting these up on actual TV channels like Disney XD anytime soon.

Do note however that LEGO Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Thanos Threat has not been made available in all countries around the world. If you can watch the videos below, then have fun!

2018 LEGO Catalogue Reveals Latest LEGO Elves Sets.

Though we still have a couple of weeks to go before the 2018 LEGO Catalogue is released in the US, LEGO fans in the Ukraine had an early glimpse of what we can expect from the said catalogue. They may not have the same prominence like those enjoyed by more popular themes such as City, Superheroes, or Star Wars, nevertheless LEGO Elves have produced some of the most visually stunning sets that I have ever seen. Now, thanks to the Ukrainian 2018 LEGO Catalogue (which you can download here), we now have a glimpse on the next magically colorful Elves sets that LEGO has to offer.

As of Brickset’s listing, we have five LEGO Elves sets slated for 2018, namely:

  • Emily Jones’ Eagle Escape (41190)
  • Naida and the Sea Turtle (41191)
  • Azari and the Capture of the Pound Lion (41192)
  • Aira and the Wind Song Dragon (41193)
  • The Noctura Tower and the Rescue of the Earth Fox (41194)

We still yet to see the official images for these abovementioned sets, but for the meantime, check out these sets as revealed in the 2018 LEGO Catalogue. These next wave of LEGO Elves sets are expected to be released in April.

Ukraine’s LEGO Catalog Reveals LEGO Star Wars Han Solo and LEGO Marvel Superheroes Avengers: Infinity War Logos and Much More!

A particular user via the Discord forum has shared what seems to be the latest LEGO Catalogue set to be released in the Ukraine. Now just to be clear before the LEGO cops comes crashing on our doorsteps, the LEGO December Store Calendar has specifically mentioned that LEGO fans in the US will start receiving the 2018 LEGO Catalogue beginning December 26. However it should also be noted that there are countries where LEGO opt to deliver these catalogues quite earlier, and naturally, fans may choose to share them online as well. Now with that out of the way, you may download the 2018 LEGO Catalogue right here. Of course, you may want to have your Google Translate app (or any translation app of your choice) ready if you want to have an idea on what these means from Ukrainian.

With that out of the way, you may want to check out some of these pages, the most noticeable for me, are those that gives us an idea on how the logo might look like in the next series of box arts for LEGO’s upcoming Star Wars and Marvel sets. We already saw the next MCU-inspired sets with the release of the official images of the LEGO Marvel Superheroes Black Panther sets. They are now listed for pre-order over at Amazon, slated to be released on January 1. Now the good part is, just after two months, we can expect the LEGO Marvel Superheroes Avengers: Infinity War sets to be out in the market by then, as suggested by this 1-page ad.

2018 LEGO Catalogue Ukrainian 75

A quick Google Translate says that sale or availability of the LEGO Marvel Avengers: Infinity War sets will be sometime in March. That being the case, then we can roughly assume that images of these sets will eventually pop up as early as February.

Another interesting page in this 2018 LEGO Catalogue from Ukraine is the mention of the next series of LEGO Star Wars sets based on the next Star Wars Anthology. We saw what LEGO has to offer with the LEGO Star Wars Rogue One sets, and this time, just after a month before the release of the Avengers: Infinity War sets, we will have the LEGO Star Wars Solo sets slated to be released in April. Do take note that the Ukrainian words mentioned in the image below roughly translates that LEGO sets based on the subtheme will be available in April, while mentioning Solo’s theatrical release on May 25.

2018 LEGO Catalogue Ukrainian 100

I know these pages don’t say much on what kind of sets we can expect from these two highly anticipated films. As of now, we can expect at least six sets under the LEGO Marvel Superheroes Avengers: Infinity War subtheme, while we can expect at least five for the LEGO Star Wars Solo sets. But considering the timing on how LEGO intends to reveal its most exciting sets to date, then we can expect a great deal of reveals once Spring break arrives.

Good News! The LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon (75192) is now Available at shop.LEGO.com in Europe.

This is a welcome (though not that much expected) surprise. Now that this year is about to come to a close, LEGO seems to have been gradually keeping up with its promise of making the largest and most elusive LEGO set on the face planet available once more. As tipped to us by Brickset, it seems that the LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon (75192) is now available once more at most of Europe’s shop.LEGO.com websites. However, the caveat is that this Falcon is still only available for LEGO VIP members. It also seems that LEGO is still struggling to meet its long list of back orders before the year ends, especially for those who are still expecting to receive the set with its accompanying exclusive LEGO VIP Card.

Now, we should also take note that supplies of the LEGO Star Wars UCS Falcon sets are still yet to be replenished in the US. Nevertheless, this piece of good news is still a good indication that LEGO is doing everything that it can to keep up with the demand – though I can’t help but feel that such endeavor of meeting all the demands created by LEGO’s marketing hype, is still very much like moving a mountain, you still have to give LEGO a pat on the back for making this happen.

If you’re in Europe right now as you are reading this, then I hope you better act fast before the brick-built ship that “made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs”, disappears once again before you can say Chewbacca. Just follow the links below, depending on your geographical location. Remember to login using LEGO VIP account to see if set 75192 is still available.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Official Trailer Is Finally Out – New Dinos Introduced.

True to their promise, Universal Pictures has released its first official trailer of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom last Friday after a brief, baby Blue teaser earlier last month. The official trailer gives us a glimpse of the back story between our dino heroes and advocates, Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) and Owen (Chris Pratt), and the length that the their team will go through to save the remaining dinosaurs in Isla Nublar. In case you missed it, here’s the film’s official trailer which is currently trending over at YouTube.

Last October, we also published some insider info on what LEGO has in store for this latest sequel, and judging from the official trailer of Fallen Kingdom, it will not be a long shot to consider that we might get some new dinosaur bigfigs under this theme. As per Brickset’s listing, we can expect five new sets under the Fallen Kingdom theme, and the official trailer of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom gives us a glimpse on two new dinos that will look pretty nice in their LEGO bigfig forms.

First off, we have the Baryonyx. Though this predator was referred to several times in the Jurassic Park franchise, it was only now that we actually see it in living, breathing form. The Baryonyx is a crocodile-looking dino  known to feed on fish and other smaller dinosaurs, while not minding having humans on the list of its menu.

baryonyx Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom New Dinosaur Photo
Baryonyx detail header

The Baryonyx is also significantly larger than the usual Raptor based on this particular scene from the trailer where Claire and Justice Smith’s yet to be named character is trapped behind a curtain of lava together with the beast. If ever this particular scene is eventually rendered in a LEGO bricks, then having the Baryonyx as a new LEGO dinosar bigfig will be a welcome inclusion. Other than the last set in the series (set 75930), the other two sets – 75927 and 75928 – are most likely candidates where we can see the Baryonyx as an actual LEGO dino character.

Other than the Baryonyx, we also saw the “meat-eating bull”, the Carnotaurus, made its debut in the big screen. Mentioned only in the first film as a hybrid of some sorts, we now see the bull-horned dino as it is in the wild. Suitable for running, it will not come as a surprise if the Carnotaurus is seen in several of the film’s chase scenes. It seems that this particular Carnotaurus is not that friendly with its saviors.

Screenshot 2017 12 07 at 6.16.38 PM CarnotaurusJPI

Similar to the set where the Baryonyx may be likely seen, we can also predict that either of sets 75927 and 75928 will be the most likely candidate to include the Carnotaurus. Bear in mind that the descriptions mentioned in our previous post only mentions of sets that MAY include Raptors, and is not quite certain of what particular dinosaurs are actually included in them, not to mention that we don’t have the slightest idea yet on what set 75930 is as of this moment.

Again, bear in mind that these are just predictions on what I believe how the LEGO Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom sets will be like once they are officially revealed hopefully a month before the film debuts on June 22 next year. Do you think LEGO has a new dino big fig in the works? Let’s just keep our fingers crossed until then.
