Are We Going to Have a LEGO Disney Cinderella Castle Anytime Soon?

That’s what folks over at the Eurobricks forum were frenzied about when reliable source CM4Sci dropped the bomb with his announcement of a new direct-to-consumer offering: the LEGO Disney Cinderella Castle 71040. CM4Sci seems to be very confident about his source, with some forum members reflecting on the possibility that the LEGO Disney CMF 71012 is just a prelude to the said D2C, following the footsteps of the Simpsons minifigures first released in 2014.

CM4Sci didn’t say much except the assurance that the said LEGO Disney Cinderella Castle 71040 will not have minidolls but standard minifigures. A Goofy or Pluto minifigure, a Tinkerbell minifig plus Cinderella herself will be a great addition to this set to compliment the LEGO Disney CMF. There has been a debate regarding what particular Disney castle will be rendered in brick form – whether it’s the actual Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World or the one from the classic 1950 Disney animated film Cinderella. However, given that 71040 is rumored to be released sometime in September, a month before the 45th Anniversary of Disney World’s opening, it is most likely that it might take its cue from the castle at Walt Disney World.

Minifigure Price Guide offered their take on the possible number of pieces and pricing for LEGO Disney Cinderella Castle 71040 including a rough mock-up of how it may look like.

71040 Disneyland Cinderlla’s Castle – I am expecting (guess) 1800-2500 pieces and some (probably 5-6) of the following minifigures.  Goofy, Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald Duck, Tinker Bell and Cinderella.  We are also hearing standard minifigures with this set and not mini dolls like in the Friends sets. I am also expecting a US $199 – $299 price.  I think that they will want to keep this cheap enough to sell in the parks.

[]

There’s still a lot that we don’t know about this set, but we are sure excited about this. How about you? How do you feel about a LEGO Disney Cinderella Castle?

Latest LEGO Batman Movie Teaser Exclusive to CinemaCon 2016 Reveals the Origin of Robin

Darren Franich of Entertainment Weekly reported a very interesting plot twist in the upcoming LEGO Batman Movie during this year’s CinemaCon at the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Hot from the heels of LEGO Batman’s second movie teaser, Warner Bros Animation Group (WAG) has prepared another teaser that sheds light to the origins of Batman’s unsung sidekick. Will Arnett himself – the voice behind LEGO’s Batman – took it on stage together with producers Chris Miller and Phil Lord as they revealed an exclusive teaser that further shed light on the Caped Crusader’s life and one particular character with the most unlikely connection to the lonesome hero. All told of course, through LEGO’s cinematic brand of humor.

In the teaser footage, Alfred commented on Batman’s lack of attention on what is important at this stage of his life. “You need to take responsibility for your life,” the butler says. “And it starts by raising your son.”

I can just imagine a lot of gaping mouths and raised eyebrows right now…

[]

Anyways, moving on a little bit, it was later revealed that Bruce Wayne accidentally adopted a little ‘nerdy kid’ named Dick Grayson at a gala event that he attended. Dick Grayson (voiced by Michael Cera) immediately geeks out upon seeing the Batcave and Batman’s various gadgets. It didn’t take long before he finally convinced Batman to let him join in his crime-busting escapades.

[]

Like any sidekick, Dick wished to have a costume and identity of his own. He frantically donned every Bat costume that he can grab his hands on from Batman’s suit collection: a “Night Terror”, a “Festive Bat” suit, a “Winged Avenger” suit, and dozens of other LEGO Bat-costumes that every LEGO Batman minifigure fan would love to have.

When Dick Grayson finally stepped in front of an all-too-familiar red and green suit with a big letter R on the chest, Batman commented, “It’s called the Reggae Man from a Jamaica caper.” Dick tried it on but later decided to rip the pants off complaining that it was a little tight, leaving only his green undies underneath.

[]

[]

So, ladies and gentlemen, we give you the Boy Wonder! Well, at least that is how the LEGO Batman Movie puts it. The pics above were from the LEGO Classic TV Series Batcave (76052) –the closest that we can think of how Robin will look in the film.

We hope to see the teaser anytime soon as it makes its way on YouTube. So be sure to stay tuned here at the Brick Show for more LEGO Batman Movie updates.

LEGO DISNEY COLLECTIBLE MINIFIGURES 71012 HAS BEEN RELEASED EARLIER AT SOME PARTS OF THE WORLD

It was just barely a week ago when LEGO finally revealed its much-awaited LEGO Disney Collectible Minifigures  (71012), Together with some pretty up-close high-resolution images, and the promise that it will hit stores on May 1. However, some brick fans may have enjoyed an early treat by getting their hands on what could be the most wanted CMFs in the minifig scene today.

A few days ago, Minifig Price Guide reported that the LEGO Disney CMF was spotted for an early public release over at Legoland Billund in Denmark. Citing the Legends Brick Group via their Facebook page, it seems that the legit photos are a far cry from an April Fool’s Day joke since it was posted last April 1. Photo credit goes to Facebook user Wai Tam for letting us know of his awesome find.

[]

[]

[]

[]

On a similar note, Spanish site Hispabrick Magazine also gave a preview of what the actual Disney CMF looks like. Though they did not go to length to discuss how they acquired the minifigures, the photos that they posted seem to be legitimate. Here are some of the pics that we got from them:

[]

[]

[]

It is kind of surprising for LEGO to release the Disney CMF series a month earlier than the announced schedule on May 1. If they are capable of releasing the series early on, then fans all over the world will be definitely happier if LEGO have opted for a simultaneous global release instead.

For now, we just have to wait until May 1. But if you are raring to have these Disney CMFs, it will not take long until we see these collectibles listed on eBay.
