LEGO Brickheadz Harry, Hermione, Ron & Hagrid (40495) Set Discovered

Just after sharing our first box art images of the LEGO Brickheadz Minions sets, Promobricks is back with another brick-built bobblehead reveal. We can confirm and expect that another LEGO Brickheadz set is about to join the ever-expanding Wizarding World of Harry Potter, thanks to Czech online store, Heureka. The LEGO Brickheadz Harry, Hermione, Ron & Hagrid (40495) set features the main protagonists of the Harry Potter franchise with the said offering being the largest Brickheadz set of to date in terms of the number of characters included. Unfortunately, we don’t have much information about this set as of this posting since the details on Heureka’s website are also scant in the meantime.

This latest LEGO Brickheadz set also renders Harry, Hermione, and Ron during their early years in Hogwarts. They also seem to be built on a smaller 3×3 base, as opposed to the standard 4×4. Each of them also sports a 1×3 printed tile for their uniform’s tie and shirt. I have to say that it’s interesting to see these little versions alongside their larger Brickheadz cousins such as those found in 2018’s Harry Potter and Hedwig (41615), Hermione Granger (41616), and Ron Weasley & Albus Dumbledore (41621). However, I have to say that this new mini Brickheadz version of Harry will take some time of getting used to.  Particularly because of those rather oversized eyeglasses. I feel that it does not sit well with the overall Brickheadz design.

40495

LEGO brickheadz hagrid

This latest set also seems to feature a new, LEGO Brickheadz version of Hagrid. It’s not a major kind of revision but it’s nice to see Hagrid coming in with a unique printed tile of his own to accentuate his fashion. His first LEGO Brickheadz version from last year in the form Hagrid & Buckbeak (40412) did not come with any printed part or accessory. So this most recent iteration is a bit of an improvement.

The LEGO Brickheadz Harry, Hermione, Ron & Hagrid (40495) is not yet posted over at LEGO Shop@Home. But we can safely assume that we will probably hear more about it in the coming weeks, with an anticipated release date of June 2021. So what do you think of this new Brickheadz set? Let me know what you think in the comments below.

LEGO Brickheadz Minions Sets Spotted in the Wild

It looks like LEGO fans in Australia may have the better end of the deal on this one, especially if you’re an avid collector of LEGO Brickheadz and Universal Pictures adorable little yellow guys. Promobricks has just shared our first look at some of the box arts of the upcoming LEGO Brickheadz Minions The Rise of Gru sets. Check this out.

According to a report from Promobricks, these box art images started circulating over the Australian LEGO fan community when a LEGO-certified store in the region somehow posted these sets quite earlier than expected. However, it seems that these newest LEGO Brickheadz entries were taken down already, with the sets no longer listed as of this posting.

These pair of LEGO Brickheadz Minions sets both features a three-character pack, giving the film’s humorous characters their first-ever Brickheadz treatment.  Set 40421 features Bob, Kevin, and Belle Bottom – a new villain in the Despicable Me franchise. A new Minion character is also introduced in the movie and is likewise given his first LEGO rendition. As such, set 40420 includes Bob, Stuart, and a new yellow cutie in town, Otto. And in case you missed it, you may want to check the film’s official trailer to have a glimpse of these new characters.

Though we don’t have any other information about these new LEGO Brickheadz other than their box art images, we can expect a steady stream of news in the coming weeks as we anticipate these sets to arrive sometime in June. And though these new Brickheadz sets are yet to appear via LEGO’s online shopping portal, LEGO has also dedicated new LEGO sets under the Minions theme. Be sure to check them out as well over at LEGO Shop@Home. In the meantime, let’s take a look at these. I’ll update this post once new info comes in.

And the 150th LEGO BrickHeadz Set Will Be…

Last month, the LEGO Ideas platform has launched another fan activity that celebrates the upcoming release of the 150th LEGO BrickHeadz set. Fans of the brick-built collectible theme were given a chance to vote for the next BrickHeadz, coming from four pre-determined candidate themes.

As of this writing, there are currently more than 100 BrickHeadz that were already released, and it will definitely take some time before we see the likes of the 150th LEGO BrickHeadz set. And to make the voting process even more fun, the LEGO Ideas Team has rolled out four likely candidates that will be given the honor to mark such an occasion: Lilo & Stitch, Minecraft, Jaws, and Star Wars.

150th lego brickheadz set

I have to say that I was excited about the idea of finally seeing an official, brick-built Stitch set (which somehow almost made it to the cut with Tyler’s LEGO Stitch product idea). But this being a majority vote among 13,000 LEGO fans who participated, the honor of being the 150th LEGO BrickHeadz set is now reserved for yet another LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz set. That’s how democracy works I presume, even if you don’t particularly like the outcome.

lego brickheadz star wars
The 150th LEGO BrickHeadz set will feature a Star Wars character.

Currently, the Stars Wars subtheme of the LEGO BrickHeadz series is by far the most represented theme in the said genre – with 16 LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz sets under its belt. I guess that’s a testament to how popular this LEGO subtheme is among the majority of the brick-loving masses.

It is also interesting to note that LEGO may also be continuing its trend of offering official brick renditions of some of the most popular pop-icons of our generation, similar to the likes of LEGO BrickHeadz pairs such as that of Marty MacFly and Doc Brown (41611), and Peter Venkman and Slimer (41622).  And bringing the possibility of having a LEGO Jaws set on the table is quite revealing on the part of LEGO. Does it mean that LEGO has something in the works coming from this direction? We just have to wait and see.

In the meantime, we might need to wait a little longer before we can see the 150th LEGO BrickHeadz set under the Star Wars theme. And with so many present and future Star Wars candidates to choose from, it will be quite a challenge for LEGO to zero-in on the best SW character to fill in the commemorative spot.

So who do you think from the galaxy far, far away will be honored as the 150th LEGO BrickHeadz set? Which Star Wars characters do you think will eventually win this title? Or are you even happy with the results? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Images of First LEGO BrickHeadz 2021 Sets Revealed

After giving us a glimpse of the first wave of LEGO Seasonal sets for 2021, Brickset has also shared a trio of LEGO BrickHeadz 2021 sets that we can expect in the first quarter of 2021. Similarly, LEGO made the reveal via its declaration of conformity as part of its legal process of declaring the safety of their products. The images below are also not at par with the high-res ones that we usually include in our posts, but they’re enough to give us an idea of what we can anticipate from them.

Like the LEGO Seasonal Year of the Ox (40417), this first LEGO BrickHeadz 2021 set celebrates the rich tradition and celebration of the Chinese Lunar New Year. The LEGO BrickHeadz Chinese New Year Pandas (40466) features three cute, brick-built pandas: two baby pandas and one adult panda, each with a distinct look and personality of its own. These adorable brick creatures are accentuated by a decorative tree with lanterns that are very much the same as what we can see from LEGO’s Chinese Spring Lantern Festival sets.

Further down the road, we have a couple of BrickHeadz sets added to its roster of animals and pet-inspired builds. The LEGO BrickHeadz German Shepherd (40440) and Shorthair Cats (40441) seem to be a part of a new Pets subtheme that focuses on our buddies at home.  Similar to the New Year Pandas, each of these LEGO BrickHeadz Pets feature two builds- that of a bigger, adult pet and a smaller, younger one.

The New Year Pandas are expected to retail for $19.99, while the LEGO BrickHeadz Pets may be offered within the usual $9.99 price range. They’re also expected to be available in January 2021 so be sure to keep an eye on them over at LEGO Shop@Home. I’ll update this post once better images are available, but for now, check these out.

A First Look at LEGO BrickHeadz Hagrid and Buckbeak (40412)

LEGO has a new surprise for its LEGO Harry Potter fans. Thanks to Hungarian online store Kockashop, we now have our first look at the upcoming LEGO BrickHeadz Hagrid and Buckbeak (40412). If you recall, we first mentioned this set back in January as part of LEGO’s repertoire of 2020 BrickHeadz offerings.

LEGO BrickHeadz Hagrid and Buckbeak

Coming in at 270 pieces, this latest BrickHeadz duo is LEGO’s 5th Harry Potter offering under this collectible theme. The set features a brick-built Hagrid with a lantern and umbrella accessory (which happens to Hagrid’s favorite umbrella by the way). Buckbeak, being the hippogrif as he is, comes in a four-legged brick version that cleverly retains all the features of a typical BrickHeadz build. I like how LEGO designers reimagined Hagrid’s look especially the way his hair was shaped in this set and the emphasis on Buckbeak’s signature white plumage and characteristic front legs.

Here’s a rough Google translation (with some editing) of Kockashop’s product description of this set.

LEGO BricHeadz Hagrid and Buckbeak (40412)

270 pieces | Expected retail price: $19.99

LEGO BrickHeadz Hagrid and Buckbeak 40412 2

The LEGO BrickHeadz  Hagrid and Buckbeak (40412) is a magical gift for fans of Harry Potter movies and collectors of BrickHeadz models. Hagrid is unmistakable with his big black hair, long brown coat, lantern in one hand, and his favorite pink umbrella in the other. Buckbeak has distinctive white plumage from the top of the head to the beak. Both collectible characters stand on a durable baseplate, making them perfect for both play and decoration.

This next Harry Potter themed BrickHeadz set is not yet listed at LEGO Shop@Home but I’ll update this post once they make their debut in LEGO’s online shopping portal. As I mentioned, this latest LEGO BrickHeadz Harry Potter offering follows other sets in the theme such as:

The abovementioned sets are now practically retired, and if in case you’ve still missed out on these sets, you may try clicking on these Amazon affiliate links if you still need to add them to your LEGO Harry Potter collection.

Special thanks to Bouwsteentjes for the heads up.
