Bricks & Blooms Qualifies for the First 2020 LEGO Ideas Review Stage

Bricks & Blooms

We need a bit of sunshine and good vibes don’t you think especially during these trying times. And though the LEGO House will be closed for the time being in response to Denmark’s lockdown due to COVID-19, I’m glad that there are brick creations such as Bricked1980′s LEGO Ideas Bricks & Blooms that has now entered the roster of 10K qualifiers for the First 2020 LEGO Ideas Review Stage.

Bricks & Blooms

Following the success of the Indiana Jones Trilogy product idea, this modular building managed to gather the necessary 10,000 fan support needed to move on to the next level of the LEGO Ideas process cycle. The LEGO Ideas Bricks & Blooms is a 3-level garden-inspired building, complete with a cafe, a fruit and vegetable stand, and many more.

Bricks & Blooms

Though I like the calm and relaxing look that the Bricks & Blooms MOC offers, I’m not quite sure how it will hurdle the rules set by the LEGO Ideas Review Team, specifically regarding product proposals that are based on already existing LEGO themes. We’ll just have to see how things turn out when the review cycle begins in May. Bricks & Blooms is the 10th LEGO product idea to qualify for this year’s first Review Stage, joining the ranks of other cool entries such as the Mary Poppins, Cherry Tree LaneTesla CybertruckUntitled Goose GameUCS Chitty Chitty Bang BangThe Train Station: StudgateSpaceX Falcon 9Mini-fig Scale Project Gemini, Retro Bowling Alley, and Indiana Jones Trilogy.

Here’s what Bricked1980 has to say about his/her LEGO Ideas creation.

LEGO Ideas Bricks & Blooms

Bricks & Blooms

Bricks & Blooms is a LEGO modular, high street garden center. It is designed to be compatible with existing LEGO modular buildings and is constructed on a 32 x 32 base plate from 2587 pieces.

The model is made up of 3 modular levels featuring a garden center with fruit and veg stall, a cafe/restaurant and an aquatics department.

 Level 1 – Garden Centre

On the ground level is a bustling street scene including a tree, lots of plants, and a bench. The main entrance leads into the garden center itself and there is also a fruit and veg stall selling produce to customers passing by on the street. Inside the building, there are plants and gardening tools for sale. At the back of the building is the main outdoor garden center area selling plants and other gardening products.

Level 2 – Cafe/Restaurant

No garden center would be complete without a cafe! Level 2 is accessed by steps at the back of the building and includes a detailed kitchen and seating for the minifigures. There is also a small balcony that looks out on to the street below.

Level 3 – Aquatics Department

On level 3 is an Aquatics store with fish, aquariums and a cashier desk. A door at the side of the room leads out on to a small roof terrace area.

Flower Cart, Minifigures, and Other Details

The set also includes a flower cart, lawnmower, 6 minifigures, and a cat.
