“A movie so big, it needs two videos.” That’s how LEGO’s YouTube channel describes Trailer #2 of the Caped Crusader’s latest iteration in LEGO brick form. Hot on the trails of the LEGO Batman Movie’s first trailer a couple of days ago, another one was just released for all the ‘uber nerd fans’ of the Dark Knight. As Batman puts it, “When the rest of you are as super as me, you don’t just get one trailer, you get two trailers – in ONE WEEK.”

The video gives us a peek inside the Dark Knight’s grandiose crib, in a scene that shows Batman being in a reflective mood in front of his old family pictures. In its usual LEGO fashion, the film points out what is obvious already about Batman’s past – with a little bit of healthy sarcasm on the part of Batman’s loyal butler, Alfred. The ever-loyal confidant knows Batman too well, so much so that he can emphatically say to him, “I’ve seen you go through similar phases in 2016, 2012, 2008, 2005, 1997, 1995, 1992, 1989 and that weird one in 1966.”, coupled with some video snippets from those years.

Of course, the Dark Knight doesn’t want to be ‘touchy’ on the matter. He feels much better blowing off steam through his breakdancing and beatbox music. Unfortunately, Alfred forgot the basic rules of ABR – “Always Be Recording”, and was not able to capture that very seldom moment of Batman dancing (except for that weird, Egyptian dance routine in 1966).

As a bonus and perhaps the most awaited part of the trailer, is when all the villains of the film were featured in one cool shot.

Here’s what the entire gang looks like in their LEGO minifigure versions.
Earlier this year, we reported that LEGO confirmed a new line of Collectible Minifigure (CMF) that focuses exclusively on Germany’s football team the DFB, Die Mannschaft (simply dubbed as ‘The Team’) set to be released on May 14th. Announced during the Nuremberg Toy Fair last January, the said CMF will feature 16 collectible minifigures though it wasn’t mentioned who among the Team’s players will be included to enjoy the distinct recognition of being LEGOlized in minifigure form. Watch the Nuremberg announcement below.
German LEGO fan site Promo Bricks just reported a ‘Save-The-Date’ invitation for the CMF’s great reveal scheduled for April 12. The Team’s minifigures (71014) will be introduced via live streaming along with one of the members of Germany’s DFB. With the much-awaited reveal of LEGO’s official Disney CMF, this latest minifigure series is sure to be another hit among minifigure collectors. Though it was already announced that the Team’s minifigures will only be available in Germany, we’re still hoping that these minifigures will find their way here in the US and that LEGO will eventually expand this offering to all football fans around the world.

Mnifigure Price Guide spotted not one, but 10 exclusive Finn (FN-2187) minifigure believed to be from Mexico. This was discovered through an eBay post made by a certain zephyr-sama hailing from Mexico and has been an eBay member since 2010. According to Minifigure Price Guide, such offers may be legit since Mexico is one of the countries where LEGO is manufactured. Of course, such individual sales are not officially sanctioned by LEGO since the way we see how the polybags were printed, there is a unique code printed on the left, front side of each that may be later used in unlocking certain game features in LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awaken video game.
The rogue Stormtrooper’s minifigure is one of the latest minifigs that are closely being followed in the CMF scene, including the recently announced LEGO Disney Collectible Minifigures, the exclusive Blue Nightwing minifigure that comes together with the upcoming Direct-to-DVD film LEGO Justice League Gotham City Breakout due for release tentatively on the first week of July, and another DVD film exclusive which is the Scooby Doo minifigure that comes along with LEGO Scooby-Doo Haunted Hollywood scheduled to be released on May 3.

Enthusiasts of 1950s Disney stories will appreciate the inclusion of Alice and the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan and Captain Hook from Peter Pan, and the evil witch Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty. This year’s Easter Sunday may have already passed, but the great Easter Egg hunt is really hard to let go of. True to its purpose of giving delightful surprises, these custom LEGO easter eggs by Dutch builder Koen (aka Swan Dutchman) is more than just a pretty sight (and they ARE really beautiful).
With themes such as Spring, Love, and Ice, these extravagantly adorned custom LEGO easter eggs can easily pass for a LEGO jewelry collection. Koen delights his audience through his aesthetic and technical expertise with clever use of unassuming parts and sparkling metallic effects. As you can see, the delightful surprise doesn’t end with the exquisitely beautiful exterior. Koen does keep the best things for last.

Minifig Price Guide gave us some updates on LEGO’s newest Direct-to-DVD offerings. If you recall last February, we shared with you several details on our favorite LEGO Great Dane and his latest Haunted Hollywood DVD movie. As we mentioned before, this Scooby Doo Haunted Hollywood will come with an exclusive, limited edition Scooby Doo minifigure. Amazon already listed and updated their site to include some photos of the DVD’s gorgeous box art. It also updated its release date which is on May 10 – a week later compared to what we have mentioned before which is May 3.

On a similar note, Finnish retailer Cdon.com already listed LEGO’s Justice League Gotham City Breakout in its website. We mentioned beforethatAmazon UK announced the release of this movie – bearing a slightly different title – on July 4. If Cdon.com’s release date will be considered, it seems that we might see an earlier release of Gotham City Breakout which is a week earlier on June 27. It is known already that this Blu-ray/DVD release will also come with the exclusive Blue Nightwing minifigure which has so far received a lot of positive reviews recently.

Hailed as the biggest comic book and pop culture convention in the Pacific Northwest, Emerald City Comicon (ECCC) will showcase once again some of the greatest fan-oriented and comics-focused exhibits this year from April 7 to 10, 2016 at Washington State Convention Center in Seattle, Washington. Last 2015’s ECCC convention saw a legion of 80,000 fans who attended its exhibits, programs, and panel discussions by the country’s most creative artists and writers.
Unfortunately, as of this writing, ECCC’s website already shows that tickets for this year’s convention are already sold outsave for Thursday or the first day of the convention which is April 7. So if you’re planning to head off to this annual event, better visit their site right now and purchase the Thursday ticket while it is still available. They only sell tickets online by the way.
However, if you happen to be one of those who are fortunate to have bought their tickets earlier, be sure to drop by at one of the most awaited exhibits at the ECCC. One particular fan favorite in the convention is the Brick Nation Exhibit – a 700-square-foot area devoted to LEGO Builders. Various LEGO User Groups (LUGS) will be showcasing their exhibits at Brick Nation and among them are the very talented builders from SEALUG or the Seattle LEGO Users Group, SquatchLUG which is organized by adult LEGO builders from the parts of northwest Washington State, with members from Whatcom, Skagit, Snohomish, and King counties; and the ArchLUG that focuses on architectural and Castle-themed buildings.

As they say, a journey begins with a single step – and that step leads to a sure and steady stride that embarks you on an adventure of a lifetime. This is probably how Adam Reed Tucker will describe his journey toward his love for the LEGO brick and the eventual influence that it has on his life’s enduring legacy.
Like other LEGO Certified Professionals, Adam may have not initially thought of bearing the title, much more than working with LEGO on his architectural projects. Unlike most AFOL or Adult Fans Of LEGO, Adam discovered his passion for the brick later than he expected – while he was already working as an architect in Kansas and Chicago. Before this, he studied architecture and design at Kansas State University, earning his degree in 1996. Though he remembers vividly receiving one of his first LEGO sets gifted to him by his aunt when he was 6 years old while visiting the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, the hobby didn’t catch up to him until he was a professional already.

When the tragic events of 9/11 unfolded back in 2001, Adam thought of honoring the majestic twin towers of the World Trade Center by finding a way to express the complexity of the mammoth skyscrapers in a way that is most familiar and welcomed by anyone, even by children. What better way to do that than through the use of the LEGO brick? Then in 2002, he’s ideas were eventually confirmed when he stumbled upon a book by Henry Wiencek entitled “The World of LEGO Toys” published in 1987. Adam immediately noticed one particular adaptation where LEGO bricks were used as an architectural medium. In one of his interviews, Adam says. “As an artist’s medium, the [LEGO] brick is not initially thought of as a material typically used in creating art. But as an architectural artist, it lends itself perfectly to my applications just as paint to a painter or metal to a blacksmith. My medium of choice is plastic bricks that happen to be called LEGO.”

‘The World of LEGO Toys’ by Henry WiencekWhen Adam decided to come up with his own company called Brick Structures, from then on, he knew that there is no turning back from this newfound passion. “Deciding to leave a job that I did enjoy was a matter of refining what it was I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Working with my hands, creating art and sculpture, the freedom to create and explore my vision of design without computer reliance, and to share architecture with the world all made this a natural move for me,” Adam says as he shares his thoughts in an interview at the National Building Museum. Adam believes that his designs are reflective of his interests in the arts, so much so that his creations are ‘scratch-built’ which means he does not use computer modeling, pencil, and paper, or written directions in his work. Adam builds and re-builds certain parts of his buildings five or six times until he feels they are right.

A confessed AFOL in 2006, he went on to be one of the founders of Chicago’s first LEGO fan convention called BrickWorld. It didn’t take long before LEGO noticed his work, and in 2007 Adam’s Brick Structures partnered with the LEGO Group to develop a new line of LEGO sets aptly named LEGO Architecture.

On being awarded the status of a LEGO Certified Professional, Adam says in an interview with the Henry Ford Museum, “Really, all you have to have is an existing brick-based business. You have to use the LEGO brick in a way that is unique and innovative.” As an afterthought, he adds, “I’m consumed with exploring and pushing the envelope of where the LEGO® brick can go,” says Tucker, speaking by telephone from his home in suburban Chicago. “I’m enamored by all of the usefulness that LEGO harnesses within itself — education, philosophy, team-building, therapy, art, science.”
His recent venture on promoting the usefulness of the LEGO brick in inspiring others to appreciate architecture is now showcased at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago in an exhibit aptly titled, ‘Brick by Brick’. Watch this video as Adam explains his LEGO Golden Gate Bridge in an interview with Beyond the Brick correspondent Joshua Hanlon. The Golden Gate Bridge is just one of the 13 recreations of architectural landmarks that Adam came up with for the exhibit.

As the creator of the LEGO Architecture series, and through his contribution to such grand masterpieces as exhibited at Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry, Adam realizes that his enduring legacy is to inspire the next generation of designers who will wow the world with future architectural wonders; and to help them bridge the gap using the versatility of the LEGO brick. LEGO’s newest book in this genre – LEGO Architecture: The Visual Guide – may likewise capture the essence of what Adam wants to teach to the world’s future architectural designers.
Adam says with conviction, “I hope that people looking at my work will also appreciate and learn about each architectural wonder and the creativity and imagination that’s possible with the LEGO brick.”
Last February, we featured that LEGO has already assigned set numbers for the LEGO Star Wars: Rogue One. The film focuses on the Resistance Rebels that stole the plans for the original Death Star. Their storyline happened between the events of Episode III – Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV – A New Hope.
According to German site Promobricks, some German online toy retailers have started to update their databases to include pricing and piece count for these LEGO Star Wars: Rogue One set and buildable figures. No images or names were included, but only the set numbers that were previously predicted, their piece count, pricing, weight, and other technical details. Here they are:

Again, we don’t have any details yet on what these will look like or what will they focus on. A pretty good guess can be found from the photo above from the Nuremberg Toy Fair last January where LEGO showed off some of their upcoming Star Wars-themed sets. It was noted by the Star Wars fan community to be an ‘unintended’ leak on some of the major plot points of Rogue One.As you can see, Boba Fett’s famous Slave I ship is prominently seen in the background. It is kind of interesting to consider what prompted LEGO to choose that iconic Firespray-31 Class patrol and attack ship to be the centerpiece of its Rogue One sets. As such, it started a wave of speculations that the legendary bounty hunter will make his way back to the Star Wars fold.
Another highly possible candidate for a set may include the Dark Lord of the Sith himself, Darth Vader.It is a reasonable conclusion, considering that Vader was hot on the trail of the Rebels who stole the plans for the first Death Star as seen in the initial scenes of Episode IV, A New Hope. He is also expected to have a “larger role than originally thought” in Rogue One. It was also hinted that we might be seeing new designs for the Empire’s TIE fighters and its mammoth AT-ATs. Knowing how Star Wars builds on the characters of its droids, a new droid will also be featured in the movie. We’re unsure yet what is the name or function of this droid, but we are told that it will be of great help for the Rebels in securing the Death Star’s blueprints and will be a “scene stealer’ in the film.
