LEGO Ideas Foosball Table Will Be The Next Official LEGO Ideas Set

Last March, the LEGO Ideas We Love Sports! Contest has been concluded with 10 fan-chosen entries now vying to become the next LEGO Ideas set. And this time around, the LEGO Ideas Review Team has finally come up with a decision, revealing to us our next official LEGO Ideas set. A huge congratulations to fan builder Donát Fehérvári aka Constructions by Donat for his successful LEGO Ideas Foosball Table.

WE LOVE SPORTS CONTEST – REVIEW RESULTS

Following the live announcement on LEGO CON, we’re happy to share the results of the review of the We Love Sports contest.

Firstly, we just want to say thank you to all the participants of the contest who showed us all the different ways that LEGO fans interpret the theme of sports. It was really fascinating to see all that creativity.

Secondly, we’re excited to share that our review board did manage to find one design that convinced them to make a selection!

A massive congratulations to Donát Fehérvári aka Constructions by Donat, the 16-year-old Hungarian fan designer whose Foosball Table submission wowed both the fans through the fan vote but also our review board.

We look forward to bringing his concept to life as an official LEGO Ideas set for its timeless design, its joyful celebration of the game, and its ability to bring families and friends together for quality game-time!

We’re still working out the final product design, pricing, and availability for this set. We’ll share more on the LEGO Ideas blog when we get closer to launch.

The LEGO Ideas Foosball Table is the second fan-designed set to be accorded with this honor. Its predecessor, the LEGO Ideas Legendary Stratocaster, is still in the works and we hope to receive some updates about this upcoming set anytime soon.

The LEGO Ideas Third 2020 Review Results Announced

After going through 25 product ideas, the LEGO Ideas Review Team has finally made its selection with the announcement of the LEGO Ideas Third 2020 Review Stage results. Among 25 product ideas that reached 10,000 supporters over at the LEGO Ideas website from September 2020 to January 2021, the review board is finally ready to share their decision.

The title and honor of becoming the next official LEGO Ideas set goes to the original creation of LEGO fan designer Sandro Quattrini (aka Roses Must Build), the LEGO Ideas Motorized Lighthouse. You may watch the official announcement by LEGO Ideas Engagement Manager, Hasan Jensen, and LEGO Ideas Design Manager, Samuel Johnson right here.

Though this is not the first time that LEGO offered a brick-built lighthouse, the LEGO Ideas Motorized Lighthouse will be the first to be featured on such a large scale with automated functionalities. Sandro’s original concept is to create the lighthouse up to 47 cm. tall, making it up to scale with nanofigures. It also includes Power Functions to make the base of the light brick rotate on top of the lighthouse. Watch the video demonstration below to have a better look.

As a LEGO Ideas fan, I am truly supportive of LEGO fan designers who took the time and effort of designing and promoting their original creations. Love it or hate it, the LEGO Ideas Motorized Lighthouse is no doubt a work of art and a testament to the ingenuity and skills of LEGO fan designers. It’s impractical to expect that everyone will be happy with the decision of the LEGO Ideas Review Board, but at the end of the day, the LEGO Ideas platform is a celebration of the talent and skills of LEGO fan builders and the overwhelming support that they receive from the community. So again, a huge congratulations to Sandro for this original creation.

Looking forward, the First 2021 LEGO Ideas Review Stage is about to be wrapped up, with a record-breaking total of 57 entries being currently in review. The results of this review cycle are slated to be announced sometime this fall, and I’m pretty excited at what original creation or creations, will eventually be selected to become the next LEGO Ideas set(s).

And while waiting for these results, and if you haven’t done so yet, I suggest that you take a closer look at the recently offered LEGO Ideas Typewriter (21327). Heads Up! LEGO Ideas Third 2020 Review Stage Results Coming Soon

The LEGO Ideas blog has given us a pretty exciting update. Because we might as well count the hours before the LEGO Ideas Third 2020 Review Stage results are finally rolled out. The reveal is scheduled for June 22, 2021, at 3PM CEST.

If you recall at the start of this year, the LEGO Ideas platform kicked off 2021 with 25 qualifiers that managed to enter the LEGO Ideas Third 2020 Review Stage. And now after six months of careful consideration, the results of these careful deliberations are ready to be announced in public.

To make the announcement even more exciting, the LEGO Ideas Team is also giving away a LEGO Ideas FRIENDS Central Perk (21319) set signed by its fan designer Aymeric Fievet. You simply need to comment and share on the LEGO Ideas blog site on what product idea do you think will have the honor of being the next official LEGO Ideas set. One random winner will then be selected from those who guessed correctly. The deadline for sending in your comments will also be on June 22, 3PM CEST right before the program starts.

LEGO Product Idea Brick Walk Achieves 10,000 Votes

Here’s another qualifier for the Second LEGO Ideas 2021 Review Stage. From the creative mind of LEGO fan builder Lepralego, our next LEGO product idea to achieve 10K support is the Brick Walk.

Inspired by the New Walk in the Leicester, UK, this original creation clocks in at 2,400 pieces and include five minifigures. The building itself also follows a Georgian architectural style according to the description provided by its fan designer.

If in case the name sounds familiar to you, it’s because Lepralego is a 10K member who also has another LEGO product idea currently in review by the LEGO Ideas Review Team. His first qualifying creation, The House of Chocolate, managed to qualify together with other 56 entries in the First 2021 LEGO Ideas Review Stage.

The LEGO product idea Brick Walk is now the 13th custom set to make it to this year’s Second Review Stage. Click on the following link below if you wish to know more about this potential LEGO Ideas set.

The Brick Walk

Welcome to Brick Walk, an ancient promenade completed with a fully-furnished Georgian-style building. A large tree adds the touch of nature that is so characteristic of this pedestrian walk.

Inside the house, you can enjoy a cup of tea with friends or have an elegant dinner in a stylish living room with high ceilings and a traditional fireplace. On the upper floor, a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom completes the mansion.

The Brick Walk scene is inspired by New Walk in the UK city of Leicester, a beautiful Georgian pedestrian promenade that is more than 200 years old. It is also a tribute to all the historic promenades that are still part of many English cities. These are places where you can enjoy the pleasure of walking and sharing moments with family and friends, often surrounded by trees and beautiful period houses.

The building on Brick Walk is not a reference to any specific building, but rather includes details from and references to many buildings in the Georgian architectural style, common to many English cities.

The set would have approx. 2400 pieces and include 5 minifigures. Some printed/sticker pieces are suggested.

Since the Second LEGO Ideas 2021 Review Stage is yet to be concluded in September, we can still expect a lot of product ideas to reach the necessary 10,000 votes during the next months. Recently, the LEGO Ideas platform has seen a surprising increase in fan/member engagement as evidenced by the exponential growth of product ideas that qualify for the Review Stage. The First 2021 LEGO Ideas Review Stage, for example, managed to gather a record-breaking 57 product ideas last month. I can just imagine how busy the LEGO Ideas review team considering the sheer volume of these original creations that needed to be evaluated. And we can somewhat expect that this trend will continue throughout the next review cycles.

Here’s A Look at Our Next Future LEGO Ideas GWP Set

The LEGO Ideas Review Team has announced its next fan-designed, LEGO Ideas GWP or Gift-With-Purchase set. Supported and voted for by fellow LEGO fans and builders, the grand prize winner of the now concluded Do You Want To Go The Seaside Building Contest has been selected by the LEGO fan community. Take a look.

Created by LEGO fan designers DadiTwins, their original creation Ray the Castaway managed to gather 969 votes making it the Grand Prize winner of this contest. Other than the bragging rights of becoming the next LEGO Ideas gift-with-purchase set, DadiTwins also gets to bring home the following sweet LEGO prizes: LEGO Ideas NASA Apollo Saturn V (92176), LEGO Ideas Pirates of Barracuda Bay (21322), LEGO Ideas Winnie the Pooh (21326), and another similar previously released GWP set the LEGO Ideas Vintage Car (40448).

Other than the Grand Prize Winner, five Runner-Ups were selected as well. Though the honor of being the next LEGO Ideas GWP set is reserved for the Grand Prize winner, these Runner-Ups will also bring home the abovementioned LEGO sets except for the Pirates of Barracuda Bay. Check Out the Winners of the 2021 LEGO Ideas Your Creations in the World-Famous LEGO House Building Contest

Earlier this week, the LEGO Ideas Team has announced the winner of this year’s Your Creations in the World-Famous LEGO House Building Contest. If you recall, a similar contest has been launched last year where LEGO fan builders may have the chance of having their original brick creations be displayed at the LEGO House in Billund.

A Grand Prize winner and several Runner-Ups were eventually chosen across three different categories: Architecture, Minifigure, and Nature. All of these winning entries, plus the rest of the other sixty-six (66) winners of the fan vote will have the opportunity to be also placed on display at the House Brick.

LEGO Ideas Launches Your Friendly Neighborhood Comic Book Hero Building Contest

To celebrate the release of LEGO’s tallest Marvel set, the LEGO Ideas fan submission platform has launched the new Your Friendly Neighborhood Comic Book Hero building contest. Inspired by the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Daily Bugle (76178) set, this new contest challenges LEGO fan builders to come up with their best creative vision of a Spider-Man inspired brick-built comic book cover (Brick Category), or a drawn/graphic (Art Category) with that distinct LEGO humor and flavor.

Fan submission has already started last May 19 and will close on June 22. And like other LEGO Ideas building contests, LEGO is certainly generous of its prizes. There will be two winners per Brick and Art Category, with the Grand Prize Winner guaranteed to take home the following:

A Runner-Up will also be proclaimed, with the opportunity to bag the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Daily Bugle set.

Fan Vote for the LEGO Ideas Your Creations in the World-Famous LEGO House Contest Now Open

In March, LEGO Ideas has launched another contest that gives the chance to have the winning entry displayed at the LEGO House in Billund. The submission and review phase for the LEGO Ideas Your Creations in the World-Famous LEGO House Building Contest has been concluded. And this time, fans can now vote for their most favorite entry to give it a chance to be featured at the LEGO House for an entire year.

The contest itself has three categories: Nature Builds, Minifigure Builds, and Architecture Builds. And from May 5 to 13, fans can vote for their favorite build to give it a chance to be displayed at the famous House of the Brick. Other than having the bragging rights of having their creation put on display in the famous House of the Brick, the Grand Prize Winners from each of the three categories will get the following sweet prizes:

Check Out the First Qualifiers for the Second 2021 LEGO Ideas Review Stage

The First 2021 LEGO Ideas Review Stage started on a high note with the announcement of yet another record-breaking 57 product ideas. And hot on the heels of this batch of qualifiers are the first product ideas that managed to enter the Second 2021 LEGO Ideas Review Stage.

The Movie Set by Castor-Troy, and Imperial Island Fort by 10K Club Member BrickHammer, are the two initial product ideas that gained the support of more than 10,000 LEGO enthusiasts, qualifying them to enter the Second 2021 LEGO Ideas Review Stage. The former features 8 facades and movie props that give your favorite movie that funny LEGO twist; while the latter takes its inspiration from the classic LEGO Pirates Eldorado Fortress (6276) from 1989.

The Movie Set product idea is a cool way to bring your minifigure filming up to a new level with its diverse selection of brick-built background props. And fans of the classic LEGO Pirates theme will certainly appreciate the Imperial Island Fort if perchance this MOC qualifies to become an official LEGO Ideas set, similar to its predecessor the LEGO Ideas Pirates of Barracuda Bay (21322).

Movie Set by Castor-Troy

The set includes 8 facades, movie props, and figurines, for a total of 2900 pieces. This creation is not based on any license. We made some visuals to suggest ideas of presentation and playability. The facades are 16 studs wide and include supports at the back that allows them to stand on their own, and to be combined at will. We focused on the aesthetics and design of the facades while making sure that the set offers a lot of possibilities and playability for the AFOLs :

For those who like to display their LEGO set, the Movie Set will be an optimal choice, as it makes optimal use of pieces for that purpose
The set can be used to reproduce scenes from cult movies by combining the different facades,
For those who like to take pictures or make brickfilms, the set would make a great background scenery
You can make a tracking shot with your smartphone over 1 meter long, thanks to a cart specially designed for that purpose,
For those who have a LEGO city, the Movie Set would make a very nice background
Finally, for those who like big LEGO buildings, all facades can be put together to form a single building that would fit well together with other modular buildings.

Imperial Island Fort by BrickHammer

The Idea

Since I was a child I have been a big fan of pirates and the old pirate Lego theme! Now as an adult I am still an avid fan of history! This small island fortress is therefore supposed to be a blend of nostalgic classic Lego red coat fortresses like the Eldorado Fortress and actual real-life Caribbean architecture!

The Build

The island consists of a big main castle on top of a rocky cliff and a pier beneath it. The castle contains a gatehouse tower and the governor’s house!

The pier beneath the castle is fortified with 2 cannon bastions to guard the island from incoming pirate ships or Armada attacks!

About 1500 pieces.
