21 Largest LEGO Mech Builds That You Can Add to Your Collection Today

If you’re a fan of LEGO and mechs, then you may notice that LEGO mechs have been around for a long time and have always been popular among fans. But if you’re looking for the largest LEGO mech builds, then stay tuned because I’ve compiled a list of 21 of the biggest and most impressive ones you can add to your collection today. These builds range from towering titans from LEGO Monkie Kid to agile combat machines from LEGO Ninjago, each with its own unique style and design.

Tracing back the roots of these largest LEGO mech builds or sets goes way back to the time of LEGO classic themes. When LEGO launched its LEGO Space theme and introduced our very first Cybernaut (6951: Robot Command Center) made of LEGO in 1984, brick-built robots became a staple across LEGO themes and sets.  And if you’re a fan of LEGO mechs, then you have probably noticed that the past 5-7 years have seen a steady increase in the number of these largest LEGO mech sets. Simply put, there are a ton of amazing mech builds out there that you can add to your collection today.

LEGO bricks have always been associated with wonder and creativity, and the introduction of this largest LEGO mech sets into the mix (as far as minifigures are concerned) has taken it to a whole new level. With the ability to create complex, articulated figures with hundreds of LEGO pieces, the possibilities are virtually endless.

And in case you’re wondering where we are right now in terms of LEGO mechs, you may also notice that the majority of these official LEGO mech sets are coming from homegrown themes such as LEGO Ninjago and LEGO Monkie Kid, and licensed ones such as LEGO Marvel Superheroes.  As a rule of thumb, I only considered those sets with more than a 700-piece count in this listing of the largest LEGO mech builds around. Most of these are still available at LEGO.com and Amazon, so if you’re interested to add them to your LEGO mech collection, then you may also click on their respective affiliate links below.

With that out of the way, let’s dive in and check this out.

However, I believe that these changes may not be that significant to change the ranking of these sets.

LEGO Marvel Superheroes Miles Morales vs. Morbius (76244)

76244 alt1

Frankly speaking, this is a cool mix of sets that shows how diverse the interests of our LEGO fan community are. Love them or hate them (I know most of us find it difficult to appreciate that Morbius film, but hey, we still get to see our first minifigure of our vampire superhero probably because of that), these sets are quite attractive not just because of the themes that they represent but also the new parts and elements that they introduce. This is particularly true, especially in the case of LEGO City sets 60384 and 60394 where we get to see a new minifigure costume and otter element. Additionally, in the case of licensed LEGO themes such as Star Wars, LSW fans are certainly hyped for the much-awaited 501st Clone Trooper minifigures (75345) and a new and aptly sized TIE Bomber (75347).

And since a large chunk of LEGO’s market is geared towards the AFOL community, it is somewhat expected to see the first modular set of 2023 make it at the top of this list. The LEGO Icons  Jazz Club (10312) is the king of the hill for the majority of Brickset members even if it means shelling out $230 for this 2,800-piece set.

In the final analysis, consider this list as a guide to knowing what is hot and not for 2023 among LEGO fans. But in the end, you decide on which among these most wanted LEGO sets will it to your final “add-to-cart” list. So what do you think? Are there other LEGO 2023 sets that you want to see in this top 15 list? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

Last Wednesday, one lucky winner managed to bag a rare LEGO Star Wars Kashyyyk Trooper from 2005’s Clone Turbo Tank (7261) set. And for today’s raffle, Stephen will be raffling away a unique, 2004 Spider-Man minifigure valued at $100. LEGO and Spider-Man fans will immediately recognize this particular minifigure as part of the LEGO tie-in sets that were released together with 2004’s Spider-Man 2 starring Tobey Maguire.

“LEGO Marvel Super Heroes” Nintendo Switch Port Has Launched

In 2013, Traveller’s Tales and WB Interactive released the latest title in their LEGO-themed videogames. “LEGO Marvel Super Heroes” was the first Marvel-licensed LEGO videogame made in the wake of the MCU’s cinematic rise. True to form with its sister titles, “LEGO MSH” went with a wide multiplatform release on PC and consoles. It would even get a direct sequel in 2017 (and an MCU Avengers spinoff a year earlier). Back in August LEGO, WB Games and TT hyped old fans with the announcement of a Nintendo Switch port. The wait is over and that promised release has finally come.

The Brick Fan reports that “LEGO Marvel Super Heroes” is now available for the Nintendo Switch as of October 5. From the official WB Games press release, the title brings back the 2013 game and its two DLC updates. Players can once again control up to over 100 Marvel characters in their LEGO-fied comic-book iterations. From the Avengers to the X-Men, Fantastic Four to solo heroes, these Marvels come together in an original adventure. Cosmic-level threats converge on the LEGO Marvel world, from Doctor Doom and Loki to Galactus. The various heroes must unite to protect Earth from impending brick-destruction.

“LEGO MSH” on the Switch already comes with DLCs “Super Pack” and “Asgard Pack.” The latter would bring relevant characters closer to their MCU designs. This aesthetic shift would carry over to “LEGO Avengers” (2016) and “LEGO MSH 2” (2017). The latter would also get a first release on the then-new Nintendo Switch hybrid system. If you missed the original and have a Switch, pick up “LEGO Marvel Super Heroes” now. It’ll tide you over until “LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga” arrives in 2022.
