LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Trouble in Wakanda is next LEGO animated special to watch out for.
It’s almost a week ever since Avengers: Infinity War arrived in cinemas last April, and plenty perhaps are still smarting over the developments. Spoilers ahead, but surely the loss of Wakanda’s King T’Challa, the Black Panther, weighs heavily on fans who watched his movie just this February. It’s so unfair.
Check Out the New LEGO Marvel Animated Short, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Trouble in Wakanda!
Well, until we get to see the resolution to Thanos’ victory next year on Avengers 4, we might settle for this little offering by LEGO to promote their Avengers: Infinity War tie-in sets and merchandise. It’s called LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Trouble in Wakanda, an animated special on Marvel HQ.
As the subtitle pretty much spells out, this series of animated shorts will star possibly the coolest Marvel hero on film today, Black Panther. The Mad Titan Thanos is again stirring some bad juju over Wakanda, and T’Challa means to get to the bottom of it.
Leading his hometown allies, and with outside help from the Avengers, the Black Panther aims to scratch up and beat down anybody who messes with his beloved kingdom. Whether they be Klaue the mercenary, Killmonger the usurper, or Thanos himself. We can rest assured the LEGO special is pure action-comedy.
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Trouble in Wakanda, brought to us by Marvel and Pure Imagination Studios, will run five episodes long on Marvel’s official YouTube channel, Marvel HQ, starting May 11. Eventually, the five LEGO Marvel episodes will be compiled into a special premiering on June 3 on Disney XD. Wakanda Forever!
Earlier this year, LEGO Ideas launched two particular contests where LEGO fans can submit their original creations with the hope of being selected as the platform’s official logo, and the next gift-with-purchase set following a classic space theme. Both competitions were warmly welcomed by the LEGO community, with the latter hitting a bit of a snag regarding the originality of its submitted project.
This time around, it looks like the LEGO Ideas Team intends to continually tap the vast resources and ideas of the LEGO fan community, particularly with its next competition that is expected to gather a following. The LEGO Ideas Design the Next FIRST LEGO League World Festival Trophy is currently on its Submission Phase throughout this month of May. The winning build which will be selected during the Judging Phase from May 31 to June 5 will be used as a basis for the trophy to be awarded to FLL winners. In a nutshell, this is how to join the contest:
Build your coolest, most display worthy LEGO trophy using LEGO pieces (no DUPLO elements). Submissions may be in either physical bricks or by using a digital building tool such as LEGO Digital Designer.
Take up to five photos of your creation and submit them to the contest. Make sure to show off your model from all angles and any particular features or functions of your trophy.
Add a title and short description.
Upload your entry to the contest using the blue Submit Your Entry button found on the contest’s web page.
Check out the image below to have an idea on what are the prescribed specifications for entries.
Similar to previous LEGO Ideas contests, the Design the Next FIRST LEGO League World Festival Trophy comes with an awesome set of prizes. The Grand Prize winner will receive:
A copy of the final trophy model (large version) with an exclusive printed 2×2 tile featuring the winning designer’s name.
One LEGO Ideas NASA Apollo Saturn V (21309) set.
A $400 USD shopping spree on shop.LEGO.com
Two Runner Ups will also receive: one copy of the Grand Prize Winning trophy in a small version, one LEGO Ideas NASA Apollo Saturn V (21309) set, and a $400 USD shopping spree on shop.LEGO.com.
Be sure to submit your entries on or before May 31, 2018 at 6AM, EST. For more information, refer to the contest’s rules and guidelines right here.

For quite some time after it was first introduced, the Star Wars-themed LEGO VIP Black Card was tied to one of the most impressive model sets ever rolled out by the company: the UCS Millennium Falcon (75192). Of all Star Wars promos since, this was most synonymous with the card.
Now however, LEGO is keen to remind their VIP members with the Black Card that they can get more out of it where Star Wars is concerned. For May the 4th, VIP cardholders might be able to avail of an official technical blueprint for their UCS Y-Wing Bomber (75181).
This information comes to us by way of French LEGO news source Hello Bricks. And the preview image of the Y-Wing (75181) blueprint is out of this world, showing how the Star Wars star-fighter’s mechanics were translated into LEGO bricks and building elements. It’s a LEGO Star Wars tech-geek’s dream.
And the nice part is, LEGO Black VIP members can get this sweet technical illustration during May the 4th with any LEGO Star Wars purchase, without minimum amounts. That’s…marginally better than the regular non-VIP shoppers who do get a minimum LEGO purchase amount. But at least everyone has a chance.
May the 4th be with you this coming Friday, as the precious blueprint of the UCS Y-Wing (75181) comes to The LEGO Store, for free especially if you have a Black VIP card. Other LEGO promos for Star Wars Day are: free BB-8 (40288) polybag with minimum $75 purchase; LEGO Store “Make & Take” Porg; twice the VIP points on many LEGO Star Wars products.

Following the reveal of the LEGO Ninjago Summer sets and the highly anticipated LEGO Ninjago Movie Ninjago City Docks (70657), it looks like we have another mech-type set under the Ninjago theme. Said to be spotted first at LEGOLAND Billund, the LEGO Ninjago Oni Titan (70658) borrows several aesthetic features from the Garma Mecha Man (70613), but with a more balanced look. However, I’m still kind of frustrated about why LEGO still insists on building those knees in such an uninspiring manner.
Anyways, the LEGO Ninjago Oni Titan is expected to be a part of the summer wave of sets that represents the upcoming Season 9 of the TV series which has dragons as one of its central themes. We don’t have a piece count yet, but based on its size in proportion to the four minifigures included with it, the build seems to stand around the same height as that of Garma Mecha Man, but relatively smaller as compared to the Fire Mech (70615).
Save for the legs and knees, the upper part of the build is pretty impressive. I like how intimidating the face of the Oni Titan looks, especially its purplish, sinister-looking eyes. Its dark bluish-gray colors also give it a nefarious feel, heightened by its overbearing katana and oversized knuckles.
Though the LEGO Ninjago Oni Titan (70658) was first spotted at LEGOLAND Billund, rumor has it that it will be a Walmart exclusive starting in May when the rest of the theme’s summer wave of sets are released. Will keep you posted once official images of this set are out. Thanks to Brickset forum members for sharing this image, with additional reporting from The Brick Fan.
Finally, after several months of waiting, the entire range of LEGO Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom sets are now available both online and in-store in the US, including a dedicated selection for the LEGO Juniors and Duplo lines, and a LEGO BrickHeadz Owen and Blue (41614) dual-pack as well. On top of that, LEGO has also released a commemorative Jurassic Park set, the Jurassic Park Velociraptor Chase (75932), which will definitely be popular among fans of the franchise. Currently at the moment, it seems to be only listed at shop.LEGO.com so so
This LEGO Jurassic World subtheme’s obvious selling points are the relatively new big fig dinos that goes with the sets, most noticeable is the sinister looking (and a bit film spoilery) hybrid Indoraptor. Click on the links below which will bring you to Amazon, Walmart or LEGO Shop@Home. Which is your Day 1 purchase among these? Let us know in the comments below.
A couple of days of ago, we reported on a recent LEGO Rebrick Contest that focuses on the most creative way of giving yourself a LEGO BrickHeadz treatment. The Your Brick Selfie Contestgives you the chance to render yourself in LEGO bricks and make your very own BrickHeadz version of yourself. Like similar Rebrick contests, the selling point of these brick-building competitions are the prizes at stake. According to LEGO Rebrick’s contest page, the Grand Prize Winner will bring home not just this year’s first round of BrickHeadz sets, but also those that are yet to be announced – all 23 of them to be exact, with 12 of these being retailer exclusives.
Earlier last March, we also manage to stumble upon a rumor that gives us a hint on what these future LEGO BrickHeadz sets might be. We managed to see some of these, and a recent Reddit post somehow gives credence to what these 23 upcoming BrickHeadz are. Here’s what we know so far, including their expected release dates, expected prices, and retailer availability. Some of these we have shared with you already.
Though LEGO has already confirmed 23 upcoming LEGO BrickHeadz sets, the abovementioned list should not be considered as final until LEGO makes an official reveal. But in any case, which do you think among these LEGO BrickHeadz are the most promising? What LEGO BrickHeadz set are you looking forward to? Drop us a comment below.
