More 2019 LEGO Ninjago Legacy Official Images Released – Ultra Dragon (70679) Revealed

After last week’s reveal of the 2019 LEGO Ninjago Legacy subtheme, we now have additional images of yet another redesigned Ninjago set based from Season 1’s Rise of the Snake. This time around, the fearsome four-headed Ultra Dragon is now included in the roster of Ninjago Legacy sets as revealed by DeToyz Shop. The LEGO Ninjago Legacy The Ultra Dragon (70679) comes in at 951 pieces and is based on a redesigned version of the first Ultra Dragon set as included in 2012’s Epic Dragon Battle (9450).  Check out its following box art.

As you may have noticed, this set is not entirely a re-release, but an improvement in terms of design and play features. Most noticeable is the new dragon heads which are completely brick-built equipped with stud shooters mounted on its jaws. Its wings are now also made of thin, membrane-like vinyl which LEGO included as wing accessories in Ninjago sets beginning with Attack of the Morro Dragon (70736)released in 2015. The Ultra Dragon (70679) also comes with six minifigures: Lloyd, Master Wu, Lord Garmadon, Pythor, and a couple of Serpentine Warriors.

Other than the Ultra Dragon, the Malaysian LEGO fan blogsite also shared box art images of the new Ninjago Legacy Spinjitzu series. We mentioned them before in our previous post, but we now have official images of these spinners as you can see below.

2019 LEGO Ninjago Legacy Sets Official Images Released

Here’s another batch of crisp, clear official images this time coming from the 2019 LEGO Ninjago Legacy subtheme. If you recall last July at SDCC 2018, we reported how the showrunners discussed their most memorable LEGO Ninjago scenes and sets since its launch in 2011. There was no new season of LEGO Ninjago that were announced during the fan convention, and since then, there were talks that hinted on the possibility of a revival of some of the earlier Ninjago sets that were introduced during the show’s pilot season. Now thanks to Promobricks, this rumor is finally set in stone with the announcement of the 2019 LEGO Ninjago Legacy sets. This selection of revived LEGO Ninjago sets, plus a couple of new ones, is now expected to be a part of LEGO’s 2019 offerings in the first half of 2019. They’re also expected to be tie-in sets for the Ninjago: Legacy feature-length animated film.

Check out these images, and let us know what you think about these sets in the comments below.

LEGO Toys R Us Bricktober 2017 Minifigures Have Started Appearing in TRU Stores in the US.

Though they have appeared earlier in some parts of the globe a few weeks ago, it seems that several Toys R Us stores in the US have already begun this year’s LEGO Bricktober promotions. With four, undoubtedly impressive sets to collect throughout the month of October, this year’s LEGO TRU Bricktober Minifigures includes a colorful collection of minifigures hailing from the LEGO Batman Movie, Ninjago, City Jungle Exploration, and Collectible Minifigures series.

As mentioned by The Brick Fan, some Toys R Us branches in the US have already started the said promotions. These exclusive minifigs are given for free, for every minimum single-receipt purchase of LEGO products worth $50 and above. Different TRU stores in various geographical regions have observed slightly different release dates throughout their Bricktober promotional, and in the US the following are the scheduled release dates to be followed.

October 1 to 7 – LEGO Ninjago Masters of Spinjitzu (5004938)

5004938 1

October 8 to 14 – LEGO Batman Movie (5004939)

5004939 1

October 15 to 21 – LEGO City Jungle Exploration (5004940)

5004940 1

October 22 to 28 – LEGO Collectible Minifigures (5004941)

5004941 1

It seems that the in-store announcements and activities came in first, and we should expect some updates from TRU’s official website any time soon. Similarly, Toys R Us has lined up a pretty interesting series of Bricktober weekend in-store events, with a handful of freebies up for grabs. Check TRU’s website for more details.

Here’s Our First Look at the Official Set Images of LEGO 70596 Ninjago Samurai X Cave Chaos

We had our first look at the official images of LEGO’s 2016 Summer Ninjago sets a few weeks ago. Missing from these if you have noticed, are the yet-to-be-revealed Titanium Ninja Tumbler (70588), Airjitzu Battlegrounds (70590), and Samurai X Cave Chaos (70596). Truth be told, several leaked images of these sets went online recently, particularly those of 70588 and 70596.

This time around, thanks once again to Amazon Japan, we now have our first official set of images for LEGO Ninjago Samurai X Cave Chaos 70596.  The set features eight minifigures namely Sensei Wu, Nya, Lloyd Garmadon, Jay Walker, General Cryptor, Pythor P. Chumsworth, Swordsman, and General Kozu.

There’s also a set image from the Titanium Ninja Tumbler (70588) posted on Amazon Japan, however, the one that they posted there appears to be the “confidential, not to be copied” type which is kind of odd actually. Wonder if this is just a mess up. Anyway, here’s one of the set images from 70588 without the ominous watermark.

Click here if you want to see the entire Amazon Japan listing for this one. As of this writing, we don’t have any news yet for the Airjutzu Battlegrounds set (70590), but we’re pretty sure that will be seeing some news about this set a few days from now.
