2017’s Star Wars Force Friday Now Confirmed.

Now that Star Wars’ first anthology film Rogue One has already proven its mettle in the cinemas last year, legion of fans are now setting their eyes on this year’s next big Star Wars film – Episode VIII The Last Jedi. But before we march into theaters on December 15, the month of September will showcase several new Star Wars toys and product lines that will pay help propel the marketing of the film. September’s Force Friday is sure to attract throngs of Star Wars fans, and LEGO will be at the heat of action with sets that are dedicated to the 8th film instalment from the Disney and Lucas Films.

Brickset has already listed seven LEGO Star Wars The Last Jedi sets, and now, we have an idea on how the branding of these box arts will look like as you can see from the image below.

The Last Jedi box art

The box art reveals Rey sporting a new hairstyle that gives her a somewhat more sober look. The fact that she seems to be confidently wielding Luke Skywalker’s blue lightsaber also presents a very interesting angle to how events will unfold in The Last Jedi. There has been little change in how Poe and Finn were portrayed, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that they are not significantly affected by how things will turn out in the film.

We have very little information as of this time regarding the details of The Last Jedi, nor the sets that LEGO has in store for Episode VIII. September is still a bit far off and until then, we will excitingly wait for what Disney and LEGO has in store for us.

What LEGO Star Wars The Last Jedi sets are you eager to see? Any ideas for what these sets could be? Let us know in the comments below or join in the discussion on our Facebook page. Thanks to Brickset for the heads up.

Here Are More Details About the LEGO Batman Movie Ultimate Batmobile 70917.

A few days ago, we reported that the LEGO Batman Movie theme gets a new set that is the perfect ride for the Bat Family. The LEGO Batman Movie Ultimate Batmobile (70917) is certainly a must have for the serious TLBM collector. Though the image first posted by Market Watch is pretty neat in itself, especially considering the various minifigures that go along with it, the question in everyone’s mind is how the individual vehicles look like.

A recent post on Reddit has revealed how the set looks like when Batman’s Batmobile, Robin’s Batcycle, Batgirl’s Batwing and Alfred’s Bat-Tank are all built individually. The image seems to have been taken from a book or catalogue of some kind. Take a look.

Batmobile and Batcycle 32743531631 892f8b58b8 b

If you will notice, it seems that the set requires each of the four vehicles to be built first before combining them in a Megazord-type like of combination. The Batwing can be folded and be placed on top of the Batmobile while the Bat-Tank and Batcycle is placed at the back, giving the set an impressive length of 14 inches. The individual vehicles are cool on their own, especially Alfred’s Bat-Tank with its firepower and ammunitions. This version of the Batmobile is in a league of its own with its prominent black and red (and yellow) color scheme. What I found humorous is how Robin’s TLBM minifig version looks so goofy (perhaps because of his goggles) riding on his tough-looking Batcycle. It’s not a big issue though, since this is how The LEGO Batman Movie is supposed to be with all of LEGO’s brand of awesome humor written all over it.

The Ultimate Batmobile (70917) is expected to retail at $129 and will be released on the first week of June.

The LEGO Batman Movie Batgirl Polybag 30612 Is A Target Exclusive.

The LEGO Batman Movie is still going strong in theaters both in the US and across the globe, and that means we can still expect some bit of treats and surprises from LEGO in the form of another polybag promotion. Brickset has posted a rather grainy image of the Batgirl minifigure polybag (30612) and now we might have an idea on how to get it.

If you noticed, Rosario Dawson’s crime-fighting femme fatale in minifig form is available in three TLBM different sets: Catwoman Catcyle Chase (70902), The Joker Notorious Lowrider (70906), and The Ultimate Batmobile (70917). LEGO’s latest polybag offering under the theme is virtually identical with all these minifigure version of the Batgirl.

So what makes the polybag exceptional in its own right? As pointed out by Minifigure Price Guide, the LEGO Batman Movie Batgirl polybag features a headpiece with a different facial expression. Though it’s hard to notice it based on the polybag image above, the set itself is already listed under LEGO’s replacement service.

I know for most of you, this promotional may be a bit underwhelming if you have already fancied yourself of buying any of the sets that were mentioned above, but if you have a bad case of TLBM fever specially after seeing the film, then you will be glad to know that this Batgirl polybag may come as a freebie bundled with the Blu-Ray/DVD/HD home version of The LEGO Batman Movie, which will be exclusively offered at Target stores as reported by The Brick Fan. The site posted an image to support that gives a hint on the promotional.

We don’t know yet when the film will be out in DVD and Blu-ray (perhaps sometime in June?), but a listing on Target’s website already offers The LEGO Batman Movie for pre-order, while Best Buy offers it at $19.99 for the DVD and $24.99 for Blu-ray and Digital HD. Since most of us will probably add TLBM in our video collection, it is surely nice if LEGO will reconsider throwing in the Batgirl minifigure polybag along with other retailers.

The LEGO Batman Movie Ultimate Batmobile 70917 Revealed!

Everything is awesome today for LEGO fans with the release of The LEGO Batman Movie in theaters all across the globe. When you thought things couldn’t get better, Market Watch has exclusively revealed the Bat Team’s most imposing ride yet. We already have a hint before on what this set will be like, and this time, we finally have our first official image of the LEGO Batman Movie Ultimate Batmobile (70917).

[]

According to Market Watch, the Ultimate Batmobile is a sort of 4 vehicles in 1. The jaw-dropping ride divides into four different vehicles – the Batmobile, Batwing, Bat-Tank, and Batcycle and even comes with a rotating Bat-Signal equipped with a LEGO light brick for added realism.

The set also comes with never-before-seen minifigures of Alfred in his very own superhero getup, 2 Flying Monkeys, and what could be a highly collectible minifig, Polka Dot Man. Other than these, the set also comes with the rest of the Bat-Team: Batman, Robin, Batgirl, and alongside the baddies, the Wicked Witch. The set measures a whopping 14 inches long, 4 inches high, and 6 inches wide.

The set will be released on June 1 with a retail price of $129.99. Thanks to Brickset for the image.

The LEGO Batman Movie Kiss Kiss Tuxedo Batman Keychain (5004928) Now Up For Grabs at Cinemark Connections.

The LEGO Batman Movie has arrived in theaters in the US and in other parts of the globe, and thanks to a tip from The Brick Fan, we now have an idea of how to possibly grab hold of the elusive LEGO Batman Movie Kiss Kiss Tuxedo Batman Keychain (5004928). Previously, we know that it was offered as a free promotional by Dutch toy store Brickshop, and recently it is now offered as a freebie by Cinemark Connections, as you can see from the flyer above, if you get to see the film in 3D.

Now if you’re a in for a ride to collect all TLBM minifigures that there are, including this one, then this is something that you may want to check out. I’m not quite sure if this is an exclusive only for Cinemark Connection members. One bit of a challenge is the fact that Cinemark theaters are specific to certain regions only and locations are quite scant. However, if you happen to live nearby any of Cinemark’s theater houses and is planning to see TLBM, then be sure to get this freebie as soon as you can since supplies are expected to be limited.

On a side note, in case you are minifig purist who finds the unsightly keychain a little bit too much to bare, and would rather have the Kiss Kiss Tuxedo Batman on display on your TLBM minifig wall, then theBrickBlogger has a nifty article on the various methods that you can use in removing the keychain that bounds your faved minifig. Here’s a brief tutorial/video demonstration on how to do it.

Hold On To Your Katanas! The LEGO Ninjago Movie Trailer Is Here (Almost)!

Warner Bros has kicked off a slew of teasers to promote its latest film The LEGO Ninjago Movie. Hot off the heels of the release of The LEGO Batman Movie, this next brick-built film collaboration between Warner Bros and LEGO highlights a sort of an alternative storyline for the young heroes of Ninjago. With a new look and a daunting nemesis to beat (who happens to be Lloyd’s dad by the way), our new heroes must eventually come into terms with their own fears and egos in order for them to tap into their full potential.

TLNM 03

In this big-screen Ninjago adventure, the battle for Ninjago City calls to action young Lloyd, aka the Green Ninja, along with his friends, who are all secret warriors and LEGO Master Builders. Led by kung fu master Wu, as wise-cracking as he is wise, they must defeat evil warlord Garmadon, the Worst Guy Ever, who also happens to be Lloyd’s dad. Pitting mech against mech and father against son, the epic showdown will test this fierce but undisciplined team of modern-day ninjas who must learn to check their egos and pull together to unleash their true power.

TLNM 01

Earlier today, Warner Bros. has released a teaser trailer for the upcoming debut of its first full-length trailer for The LEGO Ninjago Movie. The teaser begins with Master Wu (voiced by Jackie Chan), showing his intention to gather the young ninja heroes. Watch this.

We assume that the full-length trailer will be released just in time before The LEGO Batman Movie hits theaters. We’ve received a lot of mixed reactions on how the characters of Ninjago are portrayed in this stand-alone film, ranging from uber excited to downright disappointing because of its steep departure from the animated series. Hopefully, will  get more details once the full trailer of The LEGO Ninjago Movie hits online tomorrow.

Batman Just Can’t Stop Singing In This Latest Clip from The LEGO Batman Movie.

We know already how big a film The LEGO Batman Movie is, with all the references and hints that it gives  on the entire spectrum of DC’s Dark Knight. Early reviews of the film were all but praises for this fresh, new take on director’s Chris McKay entertaining spoof centered on a minifig version of the brooding Batman and his fears for any sort of ‘human’ connection, and just going around on his everyday business of crime-fighting and saving Gotham city.

Just a few moments ago, Warner Bros. released a new, fast-paced, edge-of-your-seat, action/comedy sequence that shows Batman fending off the bad guys while rocking out his new theme song. Thanks to Screen Rant, we can view this video clip in its entirety, as you can see below.

The video is so full of details that I have to play it four times! Batman is just a handful for Joker’s band of high-powered misfits such as Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, The Riddler, Katana, Orca, Kiteman, Mutant Leader and the rest of the baddies. The best part is, the Batman still managed to pull out a tune, making Joker ‘look bad’ in front of his endearing nemesis. It’s hilarious how the film managed to show all of these and yet delivers it in a barrage of funny one-liners delivered in such a rapid pace.  Talk about singing your way out in any situation.

Early Reviews Are In: Everything is Awesome With The LEGO Batman Movie!

The LEGO Batman Movie already made its debut in many parts of the globe, and with it comes its first slew of film reviews that all point to one thing: everything is simply awesome about this film! Screen Rant was quick to step up into the action to share a (partial) list of reviews from major news and media outlet. We’re reposting these spoiler-free reviews right here to whet our appetites, as we eagerly wait for the film’s worldwide launch this Friday. Check these out.

the lego batman movie characters image

“Don’t tell Ben Affleck – he seems sad enough already – but the actor has just been made surplus to requirements by one and a half inches of moulded plastic.”

Robbie Collin (Daily Telegraph (UK))

“The movie is chock-full of meta-references, one-liners and in-jokes (a cinema in the background is playing Two Shades of Grey, for example).”

Steve Rose (The Guardian)

“Boasting more pop-culture references than plastic bricks – everything from The Matrix to King Kong gets a nod – the film isn’t above ripping on other previous superhero failures, with Suicide Squad coming in for a bashing.”

James Mottram (South China Morning Post)

LEGO Batman Movie 01

“This is a Batman who isn’t battling the demons of his deceased parents – instead he just misses them. (And, thank heavens, we aren’t subjected to yet another depiction of poor Thomas and Martha Wayne being murdered.)”

Mike Ryan (Uproxx)

“Just when it appeared we’d reached peak superhero, those wily folks at Warner Bros. find another way to re-package the Caped Crusader and the other denizens of the DC Comics stable – one that also manages to ally them to the world’s most popular toy brand.”

Neil Smith (Games Radar)

“Will Arnett’s plastic vigilante delivers more entertainment in the first ten seconds of this Lego spoof than Affleck managed in the entirety of the dour Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.”

Andy Lea (Daily Star)

legobatmanmovie batman batwing crowded

“Yet, in quite remarkable fashion, away from the consistent stream of gags – as a film that takes something of a scattergun approach – this is actually, and arguably, the most intimate study of the eponymous role in the character’s existence.”

Stefan Pape (HeyUGuys)

“As with the first film, it’s the little details and character moments that stay with you. Scenes of Batman alone in his giant super-cave, hunched in front of his microwave and eating dinner alone on a little Rosebud Bat Boat unexpectedly move you in ways LEGO mini figures really shouldn’t.”

Michael Coldwell (Starbust)

LEGO Batman Movie 02

As mentioned, this is just a partial list as we expect more reviews to come in once TLBM is in full swing. Are you ready to go Bat-crazy at the cinemas this Friday? Count as in! Thanks to Screen Rant for sharing these pretty neat reviews.
