It’s no secret that LEGO always had a strong presence during the yearly San Diego Comic-Con, and for this year, it looks like Comic-Con attendees have another wave of exclusive LEGO merchandise to watch out for. The SDCC 2018 Exclusives Portal is now live and we can now have a glimpse of what cool, exclusive merchandise will be up for grabs at the LEGO Booth.
As we can see from the screenshot image above courtesy of The Brick Fan, LEGO will have the following collectibles on sale at SDCC 2018 during the following time slots.
July 20, 2018 (10AM-12PM PDT) – LEGO DC Exclusive Minifigure (4 pieces)
July 21, 2018 (1:30PM-3:30 PM PDT) – LEGO Marvel Exclusive Set (218 pieces)
July 22, 2018 (10AM-12PM PDT) – LEGO Movie 2 Minifigure Exclusive
LEGO SDCC exclusive minifigures are standard fare during this yearly convention, but what interest me the most is the exclusive 218-piece LEGO Marvel SDCC set, and the still to be revealed LEGO Movie 2 minifigure. I’m also thinking on how LEGO will manage to sell the limited quantities of the uber cool LEGO Ideas Voltron (21311) set which I’m pretty sure will be sold out in a very, very short time. Stay tuned for more updates on these LEGO SDCC 2018 exclusive. These are exciting times indeed.
British LEGO fan site Brick Fanatics was present during the UK launch of the LEGO Wizarding World Harry Potter sets earlier today, to have a firsthand look at what these exciting sets have to offer. Other than the awesome sets on display, one piece of surprise that LEGO also revealed during the launch event is a new polybag which is reported to be an upcoming promotional tie-in with the Wizarding World sets. The LEGO Harry Potter Harry’s Journey to Hogwarts (30407) polybag is a little set that shows Harry as he begins his wizarding adventures aboard Platform 9 ¾ as seen in the first film of the franchise, The Sorcerer’s Stone.
This polybag features Harry in his Hogwarts uniform (though I feel this is not entirely accurate if you will consider the timeline of the events in the film – he is not yet wearing his uniform in that particular scene), some of his luggage and including his trusted owl, Hedwig. This is a great and cheap way to have Harry and Hedwig’s minifigures either on their own, or as an additional set to add to the Hogwarts Express (75955) set.
There’s no exact date on when this promotional LEGO Harry Potter Harry’s Journey to Hogwarts (30407) polybag will be offered, but it safe to guess that it will also launch sometime in July once the LEGO Wizarding World Harry Potter sets go live.
Thanks to Brick Fanatics once again for sharing this image.

I ‘m not really an avid Harry Potter fan, but I have to say that the way this latest LEGO CMF turned out is absolutely beautiful. Their prints are entirely different as compared to the ones released way back almost 10 years ago. I’m sure going to feel my way towards that Niffler minifig. What’s your favorite LEGO Wizarding World Harry Potter CMF? Share your picks in the comments below.
Though leaked images of this upcoming LEGO Star Wars set has been making rounds over the internet for quite some time, it’s good to see that we now finally have our first confirmed, third-party retailer listing of the LEGO Star Wars Porg (75230) set. Speculations have been around since late March that we will soon have a brick-built LEGO Star Wars Porg set similar to that of 2017’s LEGO Star Wars BB-8 (75187). And now it seems that we will be seeing this soon.
As it is, we now have our first official listing of the LEGO Star Wars Porg (75230) set coming from Dutch website Brickshop. This avian-inspired set from The Last Jedi is expected to come in at 811 pieces. The leaked image of this set gives an impression that this is a fairly large build, being almost identical to the size of last year’s UCS-style BB-8. This listing from the Brickshop also shows a price tag of 80 Euros, or probably $95 if offered in the US. It will be available to the general public in October just in time for the holidays. Check out this screenshot from Brickshop.nl.
I hope that this listing is not just another third-party slip-up. Taken as it is, we can probably expect an official announcement from LEGO anytime next month or early August. We can also expect a corresponding listing at shop.LEGO.com by then.
There’s not stopping the hype now. Only last week, LEGO sent its fans and those of a certain spy movie franchise into a mutual frenzy with their announcement of an upcoming set based on James Bond of all things. Concerns that the product may not jive with the family-friendly image of most LEGO items from licensed franchises were assuaged by the hint that the set will be a vehicle model, particularly a LEGO Aston Martin DB5 set.
Now that’s more like it. If you know the franchise even slightly, you can’t imagine James Bond without his latest tricked-out spy car. And now LEGO’s confirming the rumors somewhat.
Here we have teasers of what LEGO’s got in mind from the official Twitter pages of James Bond and Aston Martin, the most iconic automaker to provide cars for Q Branch of Her Majesty’s Secret Service to pimp. The lines are from the film Goldfinger, debut of the immortal DB5.
One might recall the little conversation between Sean Connery’s Bond and Desmond Llewellyn’s Q during the introduction of the Aston Martin DB5 and its various features: rotating multiple license plate display, machine guns, ejector seat. That car set the benchmark for what all future Bond cars could carry or do.
That’s another round of promotional hints dropped by LEGO and their licensing partners for this endeavor. Again, time will have to tell on when the companies will provide a specific date for when a LEGO Aston Martin DB5 will finally be showcased, much less when it’ll become available.
LEGO has another round of reveals this morning via its Twitter account, and this time around, we now have our first official look at the latest addition of Marvel Superheroes given the blocky, BrickHeads treatment. The LEGO BrickHeadz Marvel SuperheroesGroot and Rocket (41626) dual set features our favorite GOTG tag-team duo, with their signature looks that are made even more fun by their cute, chibi versions.
Similar to previously released dual-sets, it is expected that this one will retail for $14.99, and will be released sometime in October together with several new Star Wars inspired BrickHeadz and the Jack Skellington and Sally (41630) set. And I’m just wondering what Groot could be holding on his left hand. Really can’t make sense out of it for now. Any thoughts about this?
Following the reveal of one of the LEGO Wizarding World Harry Potter Aragog’s Lair (75950) last week, LEGO has also pulled the veil from another impressive set, this time under the Fantastic Beasts subtheme. This also comes as a direct follow-up to the previously announced Grindelwald’s Escape (75951) set last March. Featuring Newt and his mischievous Niffler among other things, we now have their official images in LEGO form, together with the rest of the LEGO Wizarding World Fantastic Beasts Newt’s Case of Magical Creatures (75952) set. LEGO has made the announcement via its social media channels (via Facebook and Twitter) where we can glimpse at the said set.
The fact that the set ingeniously housed some of the creatures that we see in the first film is pretty impressive. The play features and opportunities of this set leave plenty for one’s imagination. The designer who came up with this idea of having an ordinary-looking, brick-built suitcase filled with magical creatures from the film (the Thunderbird, Erumpent, and Occamy) and in near minifigure scale really deserves a pat on the back. If there is one mid-priced LEGO Wizarding World set that I want to have first, then this is got to be it. Not to mention the fact that Niffler is also included in this set. Minifigures in this set includes: Queenie Goldstein, Tina Goldstein, Newt Scamander and Jacob Kowalski.
Check out 75952’s official images below, together with its respective product description. Newt’s Case of Magical Creatures (75952) will be available beginning August 1st. Thanks to Hoth Bricks and The Brothers Brick for the heads-up.

Earlier this week, we reported on the possibility that LEGO Harry Potter fans might be getting their hands busy anytime soon. Rumor has been circulating around lately among LEGO fan forums that the new LEGO Harry Potter sets will have an earlier release date. It was said that these much-awaited LEGO HP sets will be available as early as July instead of August. Now the rumor can finally be placed to rest since shop.LEGO.com has made it official that the new LEGO Wizarding World Harry Potter sets will be available beginning July 1. LEGO Shop@Home even updated its site by adding several new images and their respective official product descriptions on some of these sets.
This is a very much welcomed move from LEGO, and fans are really eager to have their try on these sets. As of to date, we only have sets 75953 to 75956 currently listed on LEGO’s online store and we are still waiting to see the rest of the Wizarding World sets. I guess it will not take long from now since LEGO has already uploaded to their servers the official, high resolution images of some these sets like those from Aragog in the Forbidden Forest (75950) and Grindelwald’s Escape (75951).
In any case, July 1st is just around the corner, and like the rest of you guys, I’m equally excited to see and build these sets. Check out these images and their corresponding descriptions, whenever available.

LEGO has finally lifted the lid off its much awaited San Diego Comic Con 2018 exclusive. Announced via LEGO’s Facebook page, the LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon Cockpit (75512) comes in at 203 pieces and features a cut-out portion of the Falcon’s cockpit, with the minifigure versions of Han Solo and Chewbacca on board.
From the looks of it, it seems that this year’s LEGO SDCC exclusive does not contain any notable printed parts – the cockpit itself is relatively easy to build using any existing parts that you may have, or you may easily order them via Bricklink. Even the Han and Chewie minifigs are not that all exclusive to this set since they are exact same copies of the ones found in the Kessel Run Millennium Falcon (75212). However, what collectors will probably watch out for is the uniquely designed VHS-styled packaging of the set.
It is not clear yet if the Millennium Falcon Cockpit (75512) will be available as a special purchase or via lottery, like what LEGO previously does with its exclusive minifigures. We are also still on the lookout on the new sets that LEGO will opt to reveal anytime soon such as the long overdue LEGO Ideas Voltron (21311) which was earlier reported to be released in South Korea in August.
