The LEGO Batman Movie 2018 Box Art Images Revealed!

Last week, LEGO finally gave us our first look at 2018’s collection of LEGO Batman Movie sets featuring a pretty nice collection of TLBM rogue minifigures and sets. Slated to be released in January, Swiss toy store World of Games has just updated its listing to include the box art images of this latest TLBM sets. We don’t have the details on each set’s piece count or costing in US dollars, but by looking at the box sizes we could probably have an idea on how big the sets will be as noted by The Brick Fan. Check out these images.

Jurassic World 2: Fallen Kingdom Trailer To Be Out Soon!

A new teaser trailer has been released online hinting on that the first complete trailer for the sequel Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom may be out soon. The teaser, released by film writer Colin Trevorrow via his Twitter page shows Chris Pratt’s Owen Grady making friends with what seems to be a juvenile dinosaur. The teaser shared by Trevorrow suggests that Fallen Kingdom’s first official trailer may also coincide with the debut of Star Wars: The Last Jedi in cinemas. Check the video clip below.

I’m not a dino expert, but I can’t help but notice that the young dinosaur in the clip bears a noticeable resemblance with Owen’s lead Raptor, Blue, in the first film. If so, it looks like will be seeing a lot Raptors again in this sequel, or it could also be a flashback of sorts. As Owen Grady explains in the previous film, it takes a lot of time and effort before earning the trust of Raptors, and these will likely begin with an imprinting of sorts from a very young age. Raptors have been, well, a main staple of Jurassic World and its predecessors. It will not come as a surprise then, if we will be seeing plenty of these agile predators in upcoming LEGO tie-in sets.

jurassic world lego 1024x683

As we reported last month, we will be seeing plenty of LEGO Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom sets as early as April before the film debuts on June 22. Based on insider info, it is said that we will be seeing plenty of Raptors again on at least two of these sets. The film will also have tie-in sets under the Juniors and Duplo themes as well. Personally, though I would like to see some variety in the choices of LEGO dinosaurs in these upcoming sets, it will be nice if LEGO can throw in a baby Raptor or dino, just as we see from the above clip.

We’ll keep you posted on this, and we are very much excited how these upcoming LEGO Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom sets will turn out, so be sure to hit that Subscribe button below for the latest LEGO news updates. Thanks to Screen Rant for the heads up.

LEGO Disney 2018 Official Images Released!

This has been a very busy day of reveals from LEGO especially with the latest Star Wars, Creator and Ninjago sets, and this time, World of Games opted to list a handful of sets that caters to the Disney fan inside us. Previously named as Disney Princess, LEGO rebranded the theme and simply called it LEGO Disney. It is kind of similar to the LEGO Friends theme primarily because of its use of minidolls instead of the standard minifigure.

These latest LEGO Disney sets also stand out because of the inclusion of several unique LEGO pieces. I was thrilled to see Sebastian finally getting the LEGO treatment with a minifigure of his own. Some of these sets also highlight a modular kind of Build and Swap play feature, similar to what we see from modular LEGO Creator sets. Another appealing set from this theme is the Cinderella Dream Castle which looks like a nice, smaller version of the LEGO Disney Castle (71040). It will be neat to have these two Disney castles placed side by side and see how designers managed to scale these sets in their respective proportions.

2018 LEGO Star Wars Sets Revealed!

We now have official images pouring in from the LEGO Star Wars front, courtesy of Swiss online toy retailer, World of Games. Slated for 2018, these handful of images reveals additional sets from The Last Jedi, Microfighters, Ultrabuilds and other Star Wars subthemes, and are expected to be on store shelves towards the end of this year. A few days ago, a Russian online store managed to post set descriptions for some of these sets, but later on removed them. Thanks to Brickfinder, we managed to retain some of these descriptions and translated them roughly from Russian. I added these descriptions to some of these sets whenever possible.

First off, we have the latest Microfighters to watch out for in 2018. I find it amusing to see how the latest 7541-piece set, UCS Millennium Falcon (75192) is immediately followed by a microfighter, or a microscaled version of itself (75193). We also have our first look at the official name and LEGO version of the Resistance Ski Speeder, which we saw in the first TLJ trailer as it heads on to battle the towering AT-M6 or Gorilla Walkers of the First Order. LEGO also opted to create a microscaled version of Kylo Ren’s sleek TIE Silencer as it goes for a space dog fight with the Resistance’s A-Wing.

Ski Speeder vs. First Order Walker Microfighters (75195)

75195 0001 75195 0002

Defeat the First Order’s Storm Walker with the help of a super-speeder equipped with skis! Plant the pilot of the resistance spider and the First Order troopers in their cabins, ready the guns and get set for an exciting adventure. The set also includes a small shelter with additional weapons and ammunition for even more exciting battles!

A-Wing vs. TIE Silencer Microfighters (75196)

75196 0001 75196 0002

Play out the space battle between the Kyle Ren TIE Fighter and the A-Wing Fighter of the Resistance! Plant the minifigures in the cabins of their ships, load rockets on board and start the fight. The set also includes a mini-station for repairing ships. Good luck, warrior!

We can also expect two LEGO Star Wars Battle Pack sets for 2018: one referencing to the upcoming sequel, Episode VIII – The Last Jedi, while the other is a throwback to the original Star Wars film, Episode IV – A New Hope.

First Order Specialists Battle Pack (75197)

75197 0001 75197 0002

Send reinforcements – it’s the combat set of First Order specialists! Let the First Order gunner take his place, then ready the gun and aim. Guard the weapons with the tough stormtroopers of the First Order, armed with laser axes. Can you defeat the Resistance? All in your hands!

Tatooine Battle Pack (75198)

75198 0001 75198 0002 75198 0003

Other than a call back to the animated series The Clone Wars, we also have two additional LEGO Star Wars The Last Jedi sets that may prove to be a little bit spoilery for some. We now have official LEGO sets to what we have previously predicted under TLJ: Rey’s Training in the Island of Ahch-To, and the Resistance Skimmer or Ski Speeder on the planet Crait. For most of us, the best part of these sets are simply having those cute and adorable Porgs, which were only previously available on the still elusive UCS Millennium Falcon 75192.  We also have our very first minifigure of old man Luke Skywalker which LEGO has been teasing on for quite some time in its promotional ads and magazines.

General Grievous’ Combat Speeder (75199)

75199 0001 75199 0002 75199 0003

Ahch-To Island Training (75200)

75200 0001 75200 0002

Go along with Rey in search of a hut on the mountainside on one of the islands of the planet Ahch-To! Teach her to use a lightsaber and try to destroy a stone boulder. Sit back by the fire and learn more about the Jedi Order, and then spend the night in order to sleep well before the new training day.

Defense of Crait (75202)

75202 0001 75202 0002

Prepare the Ski Speeder to battle for the Resistance base against the forces of the First Order! Send the soldier to the laser cannon and other tools installed in the trench, and carefully monitor the movements of the enemy from the command tower. Set the guns on the Ski Speeders and check the serviceability of the engine. When the enemy approaches the base, put Poe in the cockpit and send him to perform another difficult mission. Fight for victory to the last, brave Resistance soldiers!

Finally, we see that LEGO’s buildable figures are still going strong with the addition of two, new Star Wars ultrabuilds. We have a Technic-built version of the most iconic bounty hunter across the galaxy, and newer, more buff version of Darth Vader. Though we already have a previous, ultrabuild version of the famed Lord of the Sith, this latest rendition is better in many ways, especially the inclusion of a removable helmet that reveals the person, the Skywalker, underneath.

Boba Fett (75533)

75533 0001

75533 0002 75533 0003

Darth Vader (75534)

75534 0001 75534 0002 75534 0004 75534 0003

World of Games have listed a December 27 release date for all these sets, so we can expect more official images of these sets anytime soon. Thanks to The Brick Fan for the heads up.

Set Descriptions for LEGO Marvel Superheroes Avengers: Infinity War Revealed!

Thor: Ragnarok is done, so the next chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is the third team movie, Avengers: Infinity War. How exactly that’s going to work following the still-ongoing fallout of Captain America: Civil War is a question for dedicated MCU film buffs, but what is certain is one thing: it will have merchandise, and it will include LEGO sets.

News has been coming out from multiple sources from Europe and Russia, particularly from a Russian toy store, regarding some of the sets coming out from LEGO that will play out key scenes from the upcoming superhero film. Six set numbers with information on the price (in Euros) and included minifigures have been listed, although the numbering scheme hints that there are at least two more that haven’t been named.

!***********WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!***********

The following LEGO Marvel Avengers: Infinity War play set names are not finalized, but amply describe what’s supposed to be happening and therefore can spoil what will happen in the movie itself. If you’re not into spoilers, then read at your own discretion.

So with that out of the way, let’s get started. Please take note that most, if not all, of the set descriptions here, are from the Russian toy store, Exoforce.ru. These are rough Google translations so please take this with a pinch of salt. Special thanks to The Brick Fan for capturing these translations, since any references to these sets were already removed from Exoforce’s website as of this writing.

It seems that the brick police have already arrived.

You must stop the evil invaders before they blow up the wall of the Holy of Holies Dr. Strange and get the stone of infinity of time. After defeating your enemies, order pizza and celebrate it with Peter Parker!

As you can see, there’s no word of any sets numbered either 76105 or 76106, but you never know. And the list of included minifigures can give away a lot about the characters involved in Avengers: Infinity War. Now the question is whether LEGO Captain America will be sporting a fine beard as he does in the revealed poster art thus far. We will find out soon enough.

Disney’s Incredibles 2 Trailer Has Been Released: What LEGO Sets Would You Like to See From the Sequel?

The much-awaited and long overdue sequel to Disney Pixar’s superhero family has been finally announced with a teaser trailer during the weekend. It has been more than a decade since we saw the Parr family in action, and now, we are given an idea on how things will be like for the family of supers once The Incredibles 2 hits the big screen June next year. In case you missed it, here’s the teaser trailer.

We can also be sure that LEGO has something in store, in fact, Brickset has already listed three LEGO Junior tie-in sets: 10759, 10760, and 10761. Though we only have these three sets as of this writing, it will be nice if LEGO can come up with regular sets to celebrate the release of the film, and there are quite a handful of sets that we can think of based on what we know about the film.

Underminer Battle

The underminer the incredibles

Since it was said that Incredibles 2 will begin immediately right after the events of the first film, we can probably have a set that features the Underminer. The last events of the first film didn’t give us many scenes regarding this super hero battle against the Underminer, so it will be cool to see that scene continued in Incredibles 2, plus a LEGO set to go along with it.

Jack-Jack’s Powers Unleashed

jackjack

If you recall, Pixar released a short film entitled Jack Jack Attack in 2005 a year after the original film was released. In the film, we can see Jack Jack unveiling his powers as Syndrome tries to abduct him. It was that moment that Disney fans got the impression that the youngest member of the Parr family could in fact, be the strongest of them all. Since the trailer alluded to that scene again with its recent trailer, then it will be nice to see Jack Jack in an official LEGO with all his powers fully awakened.

Mrs. Incredible Superhero Battle

incredibles elastigirl

Hollywood also reports that Elastigirl aka Mrs. Incredible will be taking on the film’s bad guys most of the time while her husband literally becomes a stay-home dad. It will be nice to have a set that is dedicated to Mrs. Incredible and I reckon that it will not be too hard for LEGO since we already Ms. Marvel’s minifigure in Captain America Jet Pursuit (76076) to modify. Perhaps thrown in Frozone in to the mix and you have a LEGO playset that will surely bring back memories.

Do take note that these are just suggestions for LEGO sets that we like to see alongside the latest Incredibles 2 film. We just have to wait and see if LEGO has something similar in the works. So what do you think brick fans? Do you think LEGO will come up with regular sets based on the upcoming film? What LEGO Incredibles 2 sets do you want to see later on? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

This Custom LEGO Stitch MOC Needs Your Support on LEGO Ideas!

It is a no-brainer to figure out why LEGO Disney’s Stitch is the gravatar of my choice here in the Brick Show and anywhere else in the web. The little guy is simply adorable, and ever since the film was released way back 15 years ago, his childlike, mischievous appeal still attracts generations of Disney fans all over the world even until today. Needless to say, Stitch is a Disney icon himself so much so that LEGO didn’t have second thoughts on including him as one of LEGO Disney’s collectible minifigures.

LEGO’s partnership with Disney saw the release of many impressive sets and collectibles such as the LEGO Disney Castle (71040), LEGO Disney CMF (71012), and one of my favorite LEGO Ideas sets, Wall-E (21303). This time, Tyler has given us another impressive MOC that, with your support, has the potential of being an official LEGO set. Tyler’s rendition of Experiment #626 has never looked so good in brick-built form, and it needs your support over at LEGO Ideas.

From Disney’s Lilo and Stitch, its everyone’s favorite genetic experiment, Stitch!

Stitch highly poseable. With 13 points of articulation he can truly capture the character and personality of Lilo’s lovable blue ‘dog’. He would make a great addition to anyone’s ohana with all the cuteness and charm and absolutely no destruction and mayhem. The overall design is quite simple making it perfect for kids and adult to build. At 7 inches tall he’d be right at home on a desk at the office or in a kid’s room. The ball joints and hinged elements make him easy to change from one pose to another. The design is also ready for adaptations like adding Stitch’s extra set of arms and antennas.

Ohana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind, or forgotten. So don’t forget to vote and make Stitch a part of the LEGO ohana.

Tyler’s rendition of Stitch is very posabale, featuring several points of articulations that capture the little blue guy’s expressive body language and facial gestures. Its head uses a lot of joints to allow it to move at varying angles. Both the top and bottom part of its mouth are hinged so it can be posed in many ways, given that Stitch is a very expressive character.

One of the things that I like about Disney’s characterization of Stitch is his very expressive ears, and Tyler did a very good job capturing them using several pink LEGO pieces. The big, floppy brick-built ears are mounted on the head using ball joints to give the set a more realistic, organic feel.

His arms and legs are jointed as well except for its hands and fingers. However, there is still a lot of range of motion that you can experiment on with this project, especially that it’s pretty stable given its wide base.

What could be the best part of Tyler’s custom LEGO Ideas Stitch is the fact that it comes in two variants. As we all know from the film, he is not all blue and fluffy at the beginning but more like a menacing four-armed alien creature armed with laser blasters as he runs away from his genetic designers. Tyler designed his LEGO Ideas project in such a way that you can add a pair of antenna, spines, and an extra pair of limbs.

Stitch 2

Stitch is not just an expressive character, but also has a knack for disguises as well. Tyler added some variety in this project by dressing up Stitch in his little red, space uniform as seen where he crash landed on earth. He also comes in an Elvis outfit, sporting a guitar and a surfer version complete with a surfboard, lei, and a traditional grass skirt.

Stitch 3

Stitch 4

Stitch 5

Here’s Tyler with more on his LEGO Ideas Project Stitch. As of this posting, the project still needs 1,500 votes of approval from the LEGO community to qualify for the review period. So if you like to see Stitch as our second Disney-inspired LEGO Ideas set following the likes of Wall-E, please do support this project over at LEGO Ideas, and make this LEGO fan boy’s dream come true.

2018 LEGO BrickHeadz Justice League Sets Official Images Revealed!

Warner Bros’ Justice League may not be receiving very good reviews lately, now that it is out in theaters. However, LEGO has something in store to somehow turn things around. After the reveal of the LEGO BrickHeadz Rey and Kylo Ren (41489) Target store exclusive, we now have official images of DCEU’s brick-built superheroes. Shared via social media, LEGO has unveiled four LEGO DC Comics Justice League BrickHeadz to its roster of 2018 collectibles consisting of the Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Cyborg. No sign of Superman or Batman just yet, but I do hope LEGO has something in the works to complete the JL ensemble.

The LEGO DC Comics Justice League BrickHeadz will be available for purchase in stores and online beginning January 2018. In the meantime, check out these crystal clear images.

Brickset has tagged set 41597 as a Justice League character so it’s kind of interesting who this will be. I hope it is the Man of Steel himself since we only saw him as an SDCC exclusive last year. So what do you think of these LEGO Justice League BrickHeadz? Which will you likely pick up once they appear on toy stores? Let us know in the comments below.
