LEGO Architecture Great Wall of China (21041) Official Images Released

Other than the recently revealed LEGO Architecture Statue of Liberty (21042) set, we now have another engineering wonder of the world perfectly captured in LEGO bricks. The LEGO Architecture Great Wall of China (21041) has now been listed at the German online retailer Alternate.de. Like the Statue of Liberty, the Great Wall of China is part of LEGO Architecture summer 2018 releases slated to be released in June and will retail for 49.99 Euros. This latest LEGO Architecture set comes in predominantly dark green and beige pieces, assembled on a black base plate, with the set’s name printed on a decorative 1×8 plate, written in English and Chinese. This set clocks in at 550 pieces and will be available early this summer.

On a personal note, this is perhaps the only LEGO Architecture set I have seen that has a very natural and ‘organic’ feel in terms of design and choice of colors. I like how the brick-built segment of the wall and its towers seem to rise and fall together with the ridges and mountains. One cool feature of this set is that you can connect separate models, much like a modular, to come up with a longer build to add more realism, as you can see from the image below.

Read on for the set’s official images and product description courtesy of Alternate.

LEGO Architecture Great Wall of China

Build an architectural masterpiece of LEGO bricks with the LEGO Architecture Set “The Great Wall of China”. The Great Wall of China in the north of China stretches for thousands of kilometers and is the longest man-made structure ever built. At one point in history, more than a million guards were serving there. Today, the Wall is a World Heritage Site and is a popular tourist destination. It was built between the 5th century BC and the 16th century AD according to our chronology, as well as converted and rebuilt to protect the northern boundary of the Chinese Empire. This detailed model features 2 towers connected by a segment of a wall that winds its way through a dark green mountain landscape with lush valleys, trees and lakes. In addition, it is provided with decorative nameplates in English and Chinese. Discover the clever building techniques that allow the wall to drape the landscape, meandering over ridges and winding around mountains and rolling terrain. By combining several models, this great showpiece can be expanded.

LEGO Architecture Statue of Liberty (21042) Official Images Released

After several months of waiting, we finally have our first look at the official images of this year’s next batch of LEGO Architecture sets. If you recall at the Nuremberg Toy Fair last January, LEGO announced that two, new LEGO Architecture sets will be released this summer: the Statue of Liberty (21042) and Great Wall of China (21041).

Thanks to German retailer, Alternate.de, we now have our first official images of this newest LEGO Architecture set which is LEGO’s 6th tribute to the city that never sleeps following the likes of Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum (21035), Flatiron Building (21023), United Nations Headquarters (21018), Rockefeller Center (21007), and the Empire State Building (21002). The LEGO Architecture Statue of Liberty (21042) comes in at 1,685 pieces and is expected to retail for 99.99 Euros. The excellent use of sand green and beige pieces, assembled in an evenly proportioned set bespeaks of the degree of thoughtful craftsmanship exhibited by LEGO’s top class designers. The Statue of Liberty (21042) set is part of the Architecture line’s summer offerings.

Check out these official images and product description as posted by Alternate. Thanks to Promobricks for the heads up.

The LEGO Architecture Statue “Statue of Liberty” recreates one of the world’s most famous national monuments in LEGO bricks. The 93-meter Statue of Liberty stands on Liberty Island in the New York City Harbor and welcomes sailors from all over the world. This symbol of freedom was a gift of the French people to the citizens of the United States and was officially inaugurated on 28 October 1886 before a large crowd. This detailed model captures the harmonious blend of architecture and sculpture that characterizes this building. The model includes an elaborate pedestal with shields and stones and pillared balconies. The beautifully crafted statue nicknamed “Lady Liberty” wears a flowing robe, broken chains, a seven-pointed crown, a legendary tablet and a golden torch in the raised arm. This elegant LEGO Architecture model in the authentic colors of sand green and beige is completed by a decorative name tag.

First Look At The LEGO Creator Expert Roller Coaster (10261)

We now have our very first look at the latest LEGO Creator Expert set that follows a similar theme park vibe such as the Fairground Mixer (10244), Ferris Wheel (10247), and Carousel (10257). Thanks to a recent eBay post, we now have our very first look at this year’s insanely awesome LEGO Creator Expert set, the Roller Coaster (10261) coming in at a whopping 4,124 pieces. The said eBay listing has ended already which saw the LEGO Creator Expert Roller Coaster (10261) selling for $500. This set has been rumored and talked about across various LEGO forums recently and it’s cool to be seeing it here for the first time.

Though we only have a box art image as snapped and shared by eBay user kitepunks, it is enough to give us an idea how complex this set will be. The set makes use of LEGO’s newest train track elements rendered in vibrant red colors, making it the very first, large-scale, fully functional LEGO roller coaster set overshadowing the likes of the LEGO Batman Movie The Joker Manor (70922), Amusement Park Roller Coaster (41130), and the soon-to-be released Pirate Roller Coaster (31084).  The LEGO Creator Expert Roller Coaster is expected to be released in June, with early LEGO VIP access in mid-May similar to previous Creator Expert sets. The price point is said to be around the $380 mark, so this is another reason for our wallets to cry foul this year. I might as well look for a third job if I want to bag this one.

Anyways, this reveal gives more credence to the rumor that this might be the second exclusive direct-to-consumer LEGO set that will be released starting May 15 (as mentioned in the LEGO Store May Calendar), alongside the sophisticated and stylish LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron (42083).

The LEGO Creator Expert Roller Coaster (10261) comes with a bunch of new pieces, in different color schemes and shapes. Noticeable are the new parasol element which you can find in the cotton candy cart and the new beehive element coming in a new pink variant.

I’m not really sure on what to make out with the Coaster’s supporting beams because at first glance, it feels like a bit flimsy considering that it used lots of 2×2 round bricks instead of larger ones. Truth be told, I’m a little bit skeptical about this set’s stability so I guess I’ll be waiting for official images to come out, much more if LEGO will opt for a designer video.  But in any case, it is one very cool set to have specially if you can have this motorized and equipped with Power Functions as well.

For those into LEGO theme park sets, this is definitely a must have to bring to life any of your LEGO City MOCs and builds. We’ll keep you posted anytime soon, considering that official images of the LEGO Creator Expert Roller Coaster (10261) may come out anytime soon.

Thanks to Minifigure Price Guide for the heads up.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie Ninjago City Docks (70657) Spotted at LEGOLAND Billund

It seems that it’s not just third-party retailers like Radio Kontrol have listed the Ninjago City Docks (70657), but also LEGOLAND Billund have also put them on display in their store shelves ahead of the set’s worldwide release. This is a good indication, suggesting that we might have an official press release and clear, crisp images anytime soon. The set was first announced at the Nuremberg Toy Fair last January, with a tag price of 299.99 Euros. It comes as a sort of an expansion set for the LEGO Ninjago City (70620), though it may well pass for a standalone set.

Italian retailer site Radio Kontrol managed to list a box art image of the Ninjago City Docks (70657) giving us our very first clear image of the sizeable set.  But this time, thanks to Zusammengebaut, we now have a closer look at the set’s box art which gives us a better view of its modular functions plus the minifigures included with it. The following images were captured at LEGOLAND Billund, and were shared by one of the site’s followers.

front 70657 1

As we can see from the back of the set’s box, the LEGO Ninjago City Docks (70657) comes with six interchangeable modules which you can mix and match in many ways. What I find particularly interesting is the way the base of the set is made, which seems to rest on a sort of translucent blue baseplate which is very, very cool. It’s kind of difficult to tell at this point, which makes me even more excited to see the set’s official images. The level of detail on this set is at par with the LEGO Ninjago City (70620), with the dockyards consisting of a harbor equipped with a working crane, 3 floors that represents both the old and the new in the world of LEGO Ninjago. I can just imagine how humungous these combined sets will be if they are joined together as the box art suggests.

70657 3

The Ninjago City Docks comes with a huge amount of minifigs – 13 to be exact: Lloyd in his green ninja suit, Cole in his casual wear, Garmadon, Private Puffer, Runje, Chan Kong-Sang, Runme, Runde, Dareth, Lil’ Nelson, Mystake, Chad and Betsy with a baby figure. The minifigs themselves does not disappoint, particularly the way that fish rack was made and ingeniously hitched on Runje’s shoulders. Each minifigure comes with its own set of accessories, even Lil’ Nelson’s rare arm cast piece.

70657 2

I’m really all hyped to see the official images and see the many ways in which you can build the Ninjago City Docks together with its larger counterpart. So what do you think brick fans? Drop a comment below if you’re also looking forward to having this set. Thanks once again to Zusammengebaut for sharing these images.

New 2018 LEGO Juniors Summer Sets Revealed

It looks like Radio Kontrol is not yet over with the reveals, and this time around, they’re giving us better images of this year’s summer LEGO Juniors sets. We already know that there are two, new LEGO Juniors sets to be released sometime this summer as printed at the back of the building instructions for the collectible LEGO Incredibles 2 Edna minifigure. It was revealed that additional Junior sets will be listed under the LEGO Disney theme, particularly Belle’s Story Time (10762) and Ariel’s Underwater Concert (10765). Though the latter is still not listed at Radio Kontrol, the former plus two additional LEGO Juniors sets have just been revealed following both the City and Friends themes.

Though LEGO Juniors is designed primarily for kids who just started with the LEGO hobby, some sets come with rare parts and minifigs that LEGO fans find very tempting to collect. For example, Stephanie’s Lakeside House (10763) has a mini guitar piece that is quite rare, which can only be found in the LEGO CMF Series 16 Mariachi Guy (71013), LEGO Friends Andrea’s Speedboat Transporter (41316), and last year’s modular LEGO Creator Assembly Square (10255).

These latest LEGO Juniors sets are expected to be available early this summer. Check out their respective box arts courtesy again of Radio Kontrol.

Additional 2018 LEGO Elves Sets Revealed

I’m not really that familiar with the LEGO Elves theme, but judging from the positive reception that it received during the New York Toy Fair, it looks like the LEGO Group is keeping tabs with this mini-doll, fantasy-themed sets and has plans to add more to its roster. Last December, we reported on this year’s first batch of LEGO Elves that is now currently available at shop.LEGO.com and Amazon.

This time, the battle between the elves and the forces of darkness continues with the inclusion of two additional sets highlighting additional elemental creatures in the series. Check out their official box art below, with more information which be found at Radio Kontrol’s Italian site.

These two new LEGO Elves sets are expected to hit stores starting early this Summer.

A Look At the LEGO Ninjago Dieselnaut (70654)

A couple of days ago, images of the next wave of LEGO Ninjago sets made its way online via Amazon France. Apparently, one particular set has been left out by the site which can now be found (yes, you guessed it right) at Italian toy and hobby retailer shop, Radio Kontrol.

The LEGO Ninjago Dieselnaut (70654) is a tank-like build that seems to have come from a LEGO movie version of Mad Max. It comes equipped with a minifig-scaled cockpit, and a platform that can be used to mount additional minifigs. It also has 2 revolving turrets equipped with spring-loaded shooters, a holding area for captured enemies, a crane function and a hidden compartment to stack up weapons. The set also comes with a buildable statue where the Dragon Armor resides.

70654 70654 1

The set comes with a rather interesting set of minifigures that gives us a hint that there might be some sort of a time skip/travel involved in LEGO Ninjago’s Season 9 storyline.  There are a total of 7 minifigures included in this set which includes a teenage version of Master Wu, Jay, Zane, and a host of scary-sounding villains such as the Iron Baron, Heavy Metal, Muzzle, and Skullbreaker.

Here’s a brief description of the set as Google-translated from Italian.

LEGO Ninjago Dieselnaut (70654)

Warning! Iron Baron, Heavy Metal, Skullbreaker and Muzzle have launched an attack aboard their mighty LEGO® NINJAGO® 70654 Dieselnaut! Take your weapons and join the fight with Young Wu, Jay and Zane. Avoid the Dieselnaut’s spring-loaded shooter and crane. You absolutely must not be caught in the prison of this monstrous vehicle! Stop the evil dragon master and grab the entire Dragon Armor!

These 2018 LEGO Disney Summer Sets Images Highlights “Build and Swap” Features

It’s amazing at times just how many product lines and labels that LEGO has under its brand that they must make new sets for. And yet they’re able to do just that, judging from how many new sets were announced with accompanying previews of the LEGO Unikitty and LEGO City Arctic themes over the weekend alone.

Among those announcements, care of Italy’s Radio Kontrol, were two new LEGO Disney sets of the “Build and Swap” sub-series. Both sets feature long-haired Disney Princess Rapunzel as seen in Disney Channel’s Tangled: The Series. Build and Swap maximizes the modularity of LEGO sets to mix and match with others.

First up is the Rapunzel’s Castle Bedroom set (41156), featuring Rapunzel and her pet chameleon Pascal on their cozy little chamber with a well-appointed bed, a bookshelf with assorted knick-knacks, a painting easel and a nook for Pascal to rest on. Her bookshelf also has a secret compartment to it.

41156

Next we have Rapunzel’s Travelling Caravan (41157), a well-appointed wagon house that’s Rapunzel’s home away from home at Corona. Accompanied by her best friend and bodyguard Cassandra (and borrowing Flynn’s faithful steed Maximus), Rapunzel has all the necessary comforts at hand, including an archery target (and those weird black rocks).

As early as January, we already mentioned that the new LEGO City-themed sets will go north to for one awesome brick-built, icy adventure. I am particularly interested in the new animal molds, particularly on the mammoth bigfig from Arctic Mobile Exploration Base (60195) and the saber-tooth tiger. All in all, I am pretty positive that these new LEGO City Arctic sets will go well with fans once they appear on toy shelves in June.
