This newest LEGO Star Wars X-Wing Starfighter iteration clocks in at 1,949 pieces and is the largest brick-built model of the legendary Rebel starship, second only to the LEGO Star Wars X-wing Fighter (7191) from 2000. This latest offering also includes a Luke Skywalker minifigure in his Red Five Squadron outfit and R2-D2 inside the support cockpit.

LEGO The Majestic Horse (010423) April Fool’s Set Released

Well, this is something out of the ordinary. Though the infamous prankster’s day has already passed, I’m still amazed at the length LEGO will go through to make things a bit more fun. Because as it turned out, LEGO was kind enough to officially distribute its LEGO The Majestic Horse (010423) set to select LEGO fan media outlets as part of its April 1st joke.

Just to be clear, this is an actual set and I opted to share this a few days after April 1 to save this news from being brushed off as another April Fool’s prank. As mentioned in its box, the LEGO The Majestic Horse (010423) is an 18+ set and clocks in at 475 pieces. It’s hilarious how LEGO gave a hint of things to come with the set number itself being a play on the date of April 1st.

But the fun happens when you finally happen to finish the build. Because instead of having a galloping horse, you are instead greeted by the iconic doge meme of the Internet. Instead of a horse, you’ll have a vignette of a Shiba Inu wearing a pair of Sonic’s red shoes and one that doesn’t mind pooping on the racing track.

Unfortunately, there are only 10 of these sets in existence according to The Brick Fan. These sets were given to select recognized LEGO fan media outlets for review (Brickset did a great one on this set), and I’m not sure if LEGO will be releasing the building instructions for its LEGO The Majestic Horse (010423) set anytime soon. I sure hope they do since it’s a fun and healthy way to prank someone even if it’s not April Fool’s Day.

In case you missed it, LEGO.com has been updated to include its latest LEGO 18+ set inspired by Lucasfilms’ Return of the Jedi. The LEGO Star Wars Executor Super Star Destroyer (75356) is now available at LEGO’s online shop, with a release date of May 1st.

LEGO Icons The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell (10316) Makes a Grand Entrance

It looks like LEGO pulled out the One Set to Rule Them All. In an official press statement, the LEGO Group has just unveiled its long overdue LEGO Icons The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell (10316) set.

There are plenty of discussions within the LEGO community that points out the possibility of LEGO reviving this 2012 licensed theme, especially when a collection of LEGO BrickHeadz Lord of the Rings theme was introduced last December. And this time, the largest LOTR LEGO set – at 6,167 pieces – will vividly bring us back to Middle-Earth where the journey of the Fellowship of the Ring all began.

The LEGO Icons The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell will retail for a whopping $500 and will be available starting March 8, 2023. Read LEGO’s official press release below. More details to follow.

LEGO® ICONS The Lord Of The Rings: Rivendell™, The one Lego Set to rule them all

7th February 2023: The LEGO Group, in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, today announced the much-anticipated LEGO® Icons The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell™ set, inspired by the award-winning film adaptations. This highly detailed, 6,167-piece set features the iconic Elven stronghold from Middle-earth and comes complete with 15 minifigures.

Home to the house of Elrond, Rivendell is a key location in Middle–earth and events of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, as the place where the Fellowship was formed and the quest to destroy the One Ring began.

The LEGO The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell set is packed with fan favorite moments and Easter eggs, and can be built in three sections including;

Section one, featuring:
• The Council Ring – complete with a semicircular ring of chairs for the council and the plinth where the ring is first revealed and the Fellowship discuss how to destroy it
• Frodo’s Bedroom – with a desk and chest where the young hobbit recovers following his rescue by Arwen from the hands of the Nazgûl, before being reunited with Bilbo
• Elrond’s study – with famous paintings from the history of Middle–earth

Section two, featuring:
• An elven tower – featuring five Elven statues of unnamed famous warriors from the past

Section three, featuring:
• Gazebo, river, and bridge – to recreate the scene where the Fellowship departs Rivendell.

The set also comes with 15 minifigures – including all nine members of the Fellowship; Gandalf the Grey, all four hobbits (Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee, Merriadoc “Merry” Brandybuck and Peregrin “Pippin” Took), Legolas, Gimli, Boromir and Aragorn. They are joined by minifigures of Elrond, Arwen, Bilbo Baggins plus additional elves and a dwarf (Gloin) are also included.

LEGO and The Lord of the Rings fans alike will also receive several new LEGO elements from the world of Middle–earth, including: Bilbo’s sword, Sting, the broken shards of Narsil, Aragorn’s ranger sword, Boromir’s sword, as well as numerous dwarven axes and elvish blades to ensure the Fellowship are well armed for their quest ahead.

Talking about the set, LEGO Design Master, Mike Psaiki said, “We know many of our fans have been anticipating a set like this for a long-time – but a great LEGO The Lord of the Rings set is never late, it arrives precisely when it means to! It was important to us that we created something really special in this recreation of Rivendell. After giving a teaser over its social media channel, the LEGO Group has officially announced its next collaboration with streaming giant Netflix. The LEGO Creator Expert Queer Eye – The Fab 5 Loft (10291) is now listed over at LEGO Shop@Home and is expected to be released in October.

Fans of the life-changing series will surely be glad to see the iconic team of makeover experts now given the official LEGO treatment. For those unfamiliar with the show, The Queer Eye features the colorful cast of lifestyle and fashion experts collectively known as the Fab 5. The show originally aired back in 2003 and was eventually given a reboot by Netflix last 2018.

The LEGO Creator Expert Santa’s Visit (10293) is now up at LEGO Shop@Home in the US, slated to be available beginning next month, with early VIP access on September 16.

Coming in at 1,445 pieces this year’s winter village set puts the spotlight once again on the lengths that Santa will go through to add that holiday cheer to all that is expecting his visit. It was 2014 since we last saw him added to a LEGO Creator Expert winter village set in the form of Santa’s Workshop (10245), so it’s great to see a LEGO model that is built around his character.

And of course, the model itself is perfect for a seasonal display piece and will look great with other winter village sets that you might have. The angled build is really clever since it gives the model a sort of depth and a certain degree of realism. I love the combination of white and light royal blue for its exterior, and the tons of holiday details in the interior. The set comes with four minifigures featuring Dad, Mom, a little girl, and Santa.

You and your buddies’ speculations offer multiple possibilities on what that product actually is. We offered our own guesses as to what the set is. And technically it was all of the above. Well, I guess the guessing game finally ends here with the official reveal of the LEGO Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block (71395).

So yes, that LEGO Super Mario set numbered 71395 is officially revealed. It wasn’t a Princess Peach Castle, although that’s part of it. The Mushroom Kingdom setting is there, but it was only a part of it as well. It was aesthetically based on the legendary Nintendo 64 title “Super Mario 64,” but again, it’s not just that. The set is the Question Mark block from the teaser, but it’s the container for everything else in there. We tip our hats to LEGO for their LEGO Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block set (71395). Our surprise was well-generated.
