LEGO Botanical Collection 2023 Officially Announced

Following their appearance at third-party resellers a couple of days ago, LEGO’s fine collection of flora-inspired sets for 2023 is now finally given the red carpet. Via an official press release, the LEGO Group now formally introduces its LEGO Botanical Collection 2023 collection.

Since its launch in 2021, the Wildflower Bouquet (10313) and the Dried Flower Centerpiece (10314) sets are the latest addition to the LEGO Icons Botanical Collection subtheme, with a total of 8 sets to beautifully adorn any LEGO-loving home. More so, the intention behind these new sets is to bring families closer with a one-of-a-kind gift for any occasion.

Jamie Berard, Senior Design Manager at the LEGO Group says,

“We want the two new sets we’re launching today to help people ‘grow closer’. Whether that’s buying the set for a loved one for an occasion such as Mother’s Day or Valentine’s Day, or at any other point in the year just as a little thank you. Why not give a longer-lasting LEGO plant and get to spend some valuable time building it together? We know the joy that plants can bring to people and our growing LEGO Botanical Collection has been created with that in mind. Plants are a great way to bring people together, and show our appreciation for one another.”

These 2 new LEGO Botanical Collection 2023 sets will be available in LEGO stores and online starting February 1 just in time for Valentine’s and Mother’s Day. Take a look at their official photos below, and you may click on their respective LEGO store affiliate links to know more.

More Images of the LEGO Icons Botanical Collection 2023 Sets Revealed

If you recall from last month, we caught a glimpse of one of the first LEGO Icons Botanical Collection 2023 sets that we can expect this quarter. And now thanks to Dutch toystore Intertoys, we can now have a better look at the beautiful intricacies of these sets.

We came to know about the arrival of the Wildflower Bouquet (10313) and Dried Flower Centerpiece (10314) sets, and it’s great to see that we can now have a better appreciation of what they have to offer courtesy of these clearer images.

Based on these images, we can expect a number of cool and colorful new pieces. These new interesting elements offer plenty of building possibilities not just to create stunningly realistic ornamental builds, but also in other MOCs and alternate builds.

These sets are yet to appear over at LEGO.com as of this posting, but since most of the March 2023 sets have already made their appearance, we can expect that these LEGO Icons Botanical Collection 2023 sets will make their official debut at LEGO’s shopping portal anytime soon.

Thanks to Brickset for the tip.

Look: First Images of the LEGO Botanical Collection 2023 Sets Surfaces Online

Fans of LEGO’s brick-built floral collection will be glad to know that there will be two gorgeous addition to this LEGO Icons subtheme. The LEGO Botanical Collection 2023 sets will feature two bold and colorful designs that LEGO fans will be proud to build and display.

After the official reveal of the LEGO Botanical Collection Daffodils (40646) set several days ago, new information about its contemporaries surfaced online courtesy of Promobricks. In fact, we can look forward to having a Wildflower Bouquet and an exquisitely looking Dried Flower Centerpiece, with both sets designed by LEGO master builder Chris McVeigh.

Though LEGO is still mum about these sets’ details, Promobricks provides more than enough info for us to appreciate the beauty of these lovely brick centerpieces. Check out these details below.

Both sets offer plenty of new and recolored pieces that will be pretty handy for MOCs and other modified creations. Though I am not a big fan of the theme, I have to say that these upcoming LEGO Botanical Collection 2023 sets are both stunning in their own rights. The Dried Flower Centerpiece is spot on, with the ingenious use of gears and textured elements to create that dried and dusty look. Additionally, you can connect 3 of these sets to create a larger, circular bouquet for a more magnificent design. Just don’t mistake it for a coffin spray and we’re all good.

I’ll update this post once LEGO.com has officially listed these beautiful creations online. Special thanks once more to Robert from Promobricks for sharing these images.

Two New LEGO Botanical Collection Sets Coming February Next Year

Plenty of praise must go to LEGO for trying to appeal to as many hobby niches as possible. Tie-in sets of major licensed IPs are simple enough in attracting fans of said big-name franchises. But LEGO has also delved into themes and subjects you usually don’t expect to see plastic building bricks involved. Model trains? Check. Pop artworks? Check too. How about botany or floral design, which normally involves plants? Check three. LEGO Botanical Collection covers this particular topic well with some impressive sets released over the years. And we can rest assured there will be more coming next year.

German LEGO news source Promobricks gives us word of at least two new LEGO Botanical Collection sets in 2023. One looks to be a new take on a previously-released item. The other is a nice change from the free-standing plant displays we’ve gotten from this theme line. By February next year we can expect a new Wild Flower Bouquet (10313) contrasting 2021’s (conventional) Flower Bouquet (10280). The second release that month will be the Dried Flower Decoration (10314). As the name implies, this set could depict pressed blooms in a flat display. It’s reminiscent of many sets from LEGO Art.

LEGO’s Botanical Collection currently falls under the wider LEGO Icons umbrella, and as expected they’re mostly rated Age 18+. Wild Flower Bouquet (10313) could have 939 pieces for the price of €59.99. Dried Flower Decoration (10314) meanwhile could be priced at €49.99 for 812 pieces. In possible US$ conversion the possible prices might be roughly the same. Then again, these LEGO Botanical sets are still far off from launch, so we’ll be waiting for details.

LEGO Japan Showcases Two-Set Fusions of Sets Available on Amazon.JP

The key concept of LEGO has always been that, with any given number of bricks, one can build anything. True, most packaged LEGO sets are to build a specific building/vehicle/etc. They even have instruction manuals so that builders can assemble the pieces exactly as pictured. But ultimately, building with LEGO bricks can be one of the best outlets for creative freedom. LEGO Japan two Saturdays ago demonstrated that fact in partnership with Amazon Japan. The results of that promotional activity on social media would grab attention and ignite builder creativity.

Brick Fanatics brings us this interesting social media activity made possible by the Japanese divisions of LEGO and Amazon. The challenge: How would you combine two different LEGO set builds into a unified creation? LEGO JP’s original Twitter post (November 13, 2021) even provides an example.

The “Before” photo showcases the completed LEGO Technic Off-Road Buggy (42124) and LEGO Monkie Kid Lion Guardian (80021). The “After” photo reveals the Buggy revamped to have the Lion Guardian as a motif. LEGO Japan invites viewers to visit Amazon JP’s page, and post their own two-set fusions in the comments. Let’s go over to Amazon’s Japanese page now.

In the page, we see two LEGO Friends sets, Friendship Bus (41395) and Heartlake City Organic Café (41444). They get fused into a curious double-decker food truck.

lego amazon jp ninjago

Two Ninjago sets – Jungle Dragon (71746) and Zane’s Titan Mech (71738) – fuse into a dragon robot. It looks similar to mecha plastic models by Bandai.

lego amazon jp ideas botanical

The real Japanese essence of this LEGO-Amazon team-up lies in this particular build. LEGO Ideas Tree House (21318) plus Botanical Collection Bonsai Tree (10281) equals Sakura Tree House. The featured LEGO sets are mostly available on Amazon.jp, or you can just go LEGO.com. They’re very inspiring fusions, right?
