LEGO Worlds Have Finally Come To An End

Since its launch in 2016, the LEGO open-world video game LEGO Worlds, have so much potential to become the next sandbox game to contend against Minecraft. However, after three years and a failed a Survivor DLC update, it seems that the end is finally near with LEGO Worlds. The announcement has been made via the game’s official YouTube channel when the final collection of free LEGO Worlds downloadable content has been released. Here’s the video announcement earlier in July.

The final collection of LEGO Worlds content is finally here for you to download and it’s absolutely FREE! As a thank you to all our Master Builders we’ve amassed a humongous bundle of minifigures, brick builds, props and more for you to craft even more lavish LEGO creations and continue your exciting adventures. The Showcase Collection Pack 2 is available to download right now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.

Get all the AWESOMELY FREE content we released on the showcase in 2018! Download your favorite characters, builds, props and more from ALL of the amazing sets we released, including original models featuring Pirates, the Wild West, and Ancient Egypt.

This final free DLC features an array of expansion packs such as Cloud Castles, Treasure Islands, City Life, Ancient Egypt, The Wild West, Ninjago City, Carnival Fun Fair and much more. Though some fans were clearly upset about this announcement, LEGO Worlds really didn’t take flight as compared to other LEGO video games such as LEGO Marvel Superheroes and its sequel, and LEGO DC Super-Villains. The game clearly has potential, but I guess it failed to click with some gamers and fans.

So what do you think went wrong with LEGO Worlds? What improvements could have been made in order for it to be a top-LEGO video game? Share us what you think in the comments below.

Warner Bros and TT Games To Announce a New LEGO Video Game at E3 2019

It’s kind of hard to miss the fact that LEGO is on a roll as far as developing video games are concerned. After the announcement of two LEGO mobile games namely the LEGO Legacy: Heroes Unboxed and LEGO Tower, it seems that a new LEGO video game is about to make its debut by next month. To be launched across multiple gaming platforms, the news was announced by long-time partner Warner Bros and TT Games, and the timing of the reveal couldn’t be better – the new mystery video game will be revealed just in time with this year’s E3 which will happen in Los Angeles, California from June 11 to 13, 2019.

The news was shared by Playstation fan site, Pure Playstation. Though the gaming titans made it clear that they will be a launching a new LEGO-inspired video game at E3, WB and TT Games are still mum on what this will be. There are likely candidates though, and the signs seem to point to a new LEGO Star Wars game since it has been almost three years since we had the LEGO Star Wars The Force Awakens video game. And now that the Skywalker saga is about to come to an end with the final Star Wars installment, Rise of Skywalker, perhaps now is the best time to finish this gaming installment as well.

New LEGO Video Game

If you recall, TLG tends to gravitate towards completing its licensed video game sagas, similar to the movies and franchises they were based on. We have a LEGO Incredibles video game that features content based on the first and second films. The LEGO Marvel Collection likewise features all three previously released LEGO Marvel video games: LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, LEGO Marvel Avengers, and LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2. And of course, we can’t leave out the LEGO Harry Potter Collection combining all seven years of Potterlore in two convenient discs. Needless to say, now is the time for that long overdue LEGO Star Wars video game follow-up. Come to think of it, it was also in the month of June when the LEGO Star Wars The Force Awakens video game was released, and it was in 2016’s E3 when the game was first introduced.

As much as I would like to see a LEGO Star Wars Video Game Collection, I have to say that all of this is just speculation from my part until such time that we actually hear from LEGO during next month’s  Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). For the meantime, we just have to patiently wait for the next two weeks. Thanks to Brick Fanatics for the tip.

New LEGO DC Super-Villains DLC Features Young Justice Characters

In terms of LEGO-related news, most LEGO DC Super-Villains might already qualify as “old.” However, WB Interactive and Traveller’s Tales have done their best to keep the videogame both diverse and relevant. All it takes is a periodical release of new DLC updates for the title. And their latest one’s a beauty. The year 2010 had DC fans enthralled when DC Entertainment released the Young Justice animated series on Cartoon Network. Unfortunately, its unprofitable toy-line with Mattel led to cancellation after only two seasons. Fan support led to creators Brandon Vietti and Greg Weisman to continue the series on DC Universe streaming. It premiered last January.

History lesson over; as if it weren’t obvious, Young Justice is the theme for the new “LDCSV” DLC. Interestingly, the new LEGO characters are the titular heroes as they appeared in the original CN show. Superboy, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Miss Martian, and Artemis are the pack’s playable starters, with new additional villain Black Beetle being unlocked after he gets beaten.

Young Justice

LEGO DC Super-Villains, if you need reminding, remains available on PS4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, and Nintendo Switch. The Young Justice DLC is automatically available for downloading by Season Pass-holders and Delux Edition owners. Otherwise, it’s worth $2.99 to download.

Star Wars Celebration Hints at New LEGO Star Wars Video Game for 2019

By now, the heady daze that was the 2019 Star Wars Celebration has ended with lots of fun memories. Previews to upcoming shows, video games and the long-awaited “Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker” were presented and thoroughly enjoyed. But amazingly those weren’t all to be expected on the future of the galaxy far away. While we didn’t get an actual preview, a new LEGO Star Wars video game was somewhat announced during Star Wars Celebration. It was sort of mentioned in passing by sound designer Matthew Wood, Supervising Sound Editor for Skywalker Sound. As if it wasn’t obvious, the title will again be developed by WB Interactive and Traveller’s Tales.

Just to be clear, we’re still waiting for an official announcement from these game giants that will hopefully shed light on the content of this next LEGO Star Wars game. However, video game insider Eurogamer claims that this next video game instalment will be hailed as the ultimate LEGO Star Wars video game which will encompass all nine films and three trilogies comprising the Skywalker family saga.

The hugely successful Lego Star Wars series has so far adapted the space opera’s prequel trilogy, original trilogy, Clone Wars TV show and devoted an entire game to Episode 7: The Force Awakens.

Excitingly, I’ve heard this next game is more than just an adaptation of the saga’s remaining two episodes, The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. While these episodes will be included, the project is designed to tell the story of the entire saga and I’ve heard it described as the “ultimate” Lego Star Wars game. Expect to see it announced later this year.

It will also include elements from the “Star Wars” Extended Universe. These are the official side-materials of the new Disney-Lucasfilm canon, displacing the original Expanded Universe/Legends continuity.

One notable feature previous LEGO Star Wars games would be the use of procedural generation for the in-game environment. Traveller’s Tales has already used that graphical mechanic in their 2017 sandbox title LEGO Worlds.

Aside from references to a space exploration mechanic between worlds and the uber-load of characters from the films, there’s no further info on this ultimate LEGO Star Wars video game, which would be the sixth in the WBI-TT series excluding re-masters. Perhaps the 2019 San Diego Comic Con in July will shed more light on it.

Batman: The Animated Series DLC Pack Now Available for LEGO DC Super-Villains

This year marks the 80th Anniversary of the Caped Crusader, or the Dark Knight depending on your preference. Or you can just call him Batman, sales-wise the top character of DC Comics and one of their superhero pillars. Among the many celebratory gestures by DC and Warner for Bob Kane and Bill Finger’s iconic creation, is a LEGO video game DLC. Finally made available alongside all downloadable content for WB Interactive and Traveller’s Tales’ LEGO DC Super-Villains is a level and character pack based on the seminal animated series popular in the nineties. The Batman: The Animated Series DLC Pack adds a new free-roam level depicting Gotham City as in the hit cartoon show, plus character versions of Batman and several rogues as depicted in that same show.

In addition to the Dark Knight himself, the Batman: The Animated Series DLC Pack classic renditions of villains Man-Bat (the bad guy of the series’ premiere episode), Joker, Mad Hatter, Captain Clown (Joker’s android hit-man), the Phantasm (an ex-girlfriend of Bruce Wayne’s and antagonist in the Mask of the Phantasm film), and of course, the character that debuted in the animated series and became a DC household word herself: Joker’s ax-crazy “girlfriend” Harley Quinn.

btaschardlc

Naturally, the Batman: The Animated Series DLC Pack is only playable with the LEGO DC Super-Villains video game as a regular download (for $2.99) or via the Deluxe Edition with Season Pass. For a LEGO gamer and animated DC fan, there seems no better way to celebrate eight decades of Batman than this.

The LEGO Marvel Collection Brings Together All of Your Favorite Marvel Heroes Under One Title

After the release of the LEGO Harry Potter Collection last October, Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment and TT Games have just announced that it will also offer three of its awesome Marvel-inspired video game titles into one convenient bundle. Dubbed as The LEGO Marvel Collection, brings together LEGO Marvel Superheroes 1, LEGO Marvel Avengers, and LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2 into a single game compilation. The best part of this is that all of each game’s Season Passes or DLCs are likewise included. It’s a huge treasure trove of LEGO Marvel video game goodness that’s hard to resist.

The LEGO Marvel Collection will be available beginning March 12 for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. It looks like Nintendo Switch and PC users must wait a bit if ever this bundle will arrive in their choice of platform. Here’s the full press release from Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment.

WATCH: The LEGO Movie 2 Video Game Footage Released

YouTuber and gaming guru AbdallahSmash026 shares an exclusive, LEGO Movie 2 video game footage over his channel. We’re still a few weeks to go before the tie-in video game is officially released, but WB Games was kind enough to share the first chapter of the video game, giving us a first look at how things are significantly different as compared to the first LEGO Movie video game.

Similar to the film, the LEGO Movie 2 video game begins with a retelling of the events of Taco Tuesday where the towering Duplon invaders caused havoc in the city of Bricksburg. The story is told from the usual, brooding perspective of Lucy. You start the game by playing Emmet, and later on as Lucy when you complete certain challenges, and helping other minifig citizens search for particular bricks.

Untitled 4

A new a pair of Scanner Binoculars is also introduced where players can scan any surrounding areas for building instructions to be added to their Builder Page. The binoculars are also useful in searching and revealing hidden LEGO objects.

Untitled 2

We are also introduced to the game’s Vehicle Library which is accessible via the Builder Page. While you’re in Build Mode, you can choose from the available vehicles in the database to work your way around the place faster. You can even build Ultrakatty for that extra speed boost!

Untitled 3

The first chapter of the video game goes on to introduce familiar characters such as Sweet Mayhem and Queen Watevra Wa’Nabi. Perhaps the only deviation I see from the actual LEGO Movie 2 film is that Lucy stays with Emmet even after Mayhem manages to capture almost all of our brick heroes. But generally speaking, it’s a whole new LEGO video game that you may want to try where new mechanics are introduced which are different and unique on their own.

The LEGO Movie 2 video game is now available for pre-order via Amazon US, with Amazon UK and Gamestop offering a free Star-Stuck Emmet polybag. The LEGO Movie 2 video game will be available for Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC starting February 26, and on Nintendo Switch on March 26, 2019.

Go Beyond the Movie with The LEGO Movie 2 Video Game – New Trailer Released

Since its announcement last November, WB and TT Games have been busy in promoting The LEGO Movie 2 video game. And as we inch closer to the film’s debut in theaters, WB Games UK has released its first trailer for the tie-up video game that retells the adventure and Emmet and Lucy across the Systar System and as they fight formidable Duplo invaders.

With over 100 playable characters to unlock, the LEGO Movie 2 video game features several worlds to explore based on the film. Not much has been said regarding game play and the various levels that players can explore, but its sure to have several key elements that are distinct to other LEGO video game titles. We can expect a certain degree of co-op play using almost all characters that will appear in the film. We might as well speculate that some of these playable characters might end to be an actual minifigure later on. It will also be nice to see if these characters will somehow find their way to become the next series of TLM2 collectible minifigures. Players also get to explore the various levels and worlds that will also be shown in the film.

You may pre-order your copy of the game via Amazon US or if you wish to avail of the free LEGO Movie 2 Star-Stuck Emmet polybag, then you might want to check out with Amazon UK or EB Games in Australia.
