LEGO Star Wars Spider Tank (75361) from The Mandalorian Has Arrived!

In case you missed it, LEGO.com has been updated to include yet another LEGO Star Wars set inspired by the latest season of Disney+’s The Mandalorian. The LEGO Star Wars Spider Tank (75361) features a brick-built version of the mechanical behemoth deep from the Mines of Mandalore.

LEGO Star Wars Spider Tank – What to Expect

The LEGO Star Wars Spider Tank clocks in at 526 pieces and features a mechanical, alien-like, spider build with highly articulated legs, a cockpit, and a hatch with stud shooters. Can You Guess This Cool, Custom LEGO Transformers?

We’re a few months away before Transformers: Rise of the Beasts hit theaters. And just in case you had a sudden longing to see your iconic G1 characters as custom LEGO Transformers builds, then you may want to see what this MOC has to offer

Can You Guess This Custom LEGO Transformers?

Those who grew up with trading cards and collecting posters from the 80s knew very well this unassuming transforming mech. If you said ‘Soundwave’, then your knowledge of G1 Transformers is impeccable. This very excellent rendition from master mech builder Joe Perez (aka MortalSwordsman) gives Megatron’s right-hand man a custom LEGO Transformers build worthy of this iconic Decepticon.

Custom LEGO Transformers

This is what Soundwave looks like in his classic 80s Transformers look. The mech at the right is Autobot Blaster – a boombox-changing cassette deck similar to Soundwave. As the Decepticon’s Communications Officer, Soundwave is capable of detecting and jamming radio transmissions which makes him very useful for Decepticon leader Megatron.

custom lego soundwave 6

Take a Look at the Details of Soundwave as Rendered to a Cool LEGO Transformers Custom Build

Since Moko’s transforming LEGO brick, this is perhaps the most excellent, and realistic classic custom LEGO Transformer that I have ever seen.

custom lego soundwave 8

Joe even went as far as building three of Soundwave’s most favored minions: Laserbeak, Ravage, and Frenzy.

Custom LEGO Transformers

These micro fighters can also easily transform to their cassette tape versions as seen in the classic Transformers TV series. They are usually used for intelligence gathering and reconnaissance missions and are very good at it. Fully transformable without the need to remove any pieces, Laserbeak, Ravage, and Frenzy all fit nicely into Soundwave’s chest and are ready to spring into action at the behest of their custom LEGO Transformer master.

custom lego soundwave 3

With such abilities and firepower at his disposal, no wonder Megatron gives much premium to his trusted Communications Officer. Be sure to check the rest of Joe Perez’s rendition of Soundwave over at his Flickr address. Can you think of any other great custom LEGO Transformers that you want us to feature? New LEGO Ninjago Summer 2023 Mech First Set Image Spotted Online

It seems that more information about the LEGO Ninjago Summer 2023 mech and sets will be out anytime soon as our first image from this upcoming wave has surfaced online. In a now-deleted Facebook post, LEGO’s Czechoslovakia presumably posted an image of a new LEGO Ninjago Mech that will be part of the theme’s Summer 2023 collection.

This upcoming set is rumored to be the LEGO Ninjago Lloyd & Arin’s Ninja Team Mechs (71794) and is expected to comprise of 764 pieces retailing for 80 Euros.  It features two mech builds, the larger one looking similar to 2018’s Oni Titan (70658) in terms of height and headgear. I like the more sleek appearance of this build, with the brick-built mech wielding a bladed staff instead of twin blades. The legs and feet were even designed to make it more similar to the gear worn by ancient Japanese warriors, with wooden clogs to accentuate its oriental origins. Check out the photo of this upcoming LEGO Ninjago Summer 2023 mech.

71794

The smaller yellow build follows a similar aesthetic and seems to function as a support mech for Lloyd’s battle-ready robot suit. From the looks of it, the set will feature five minifigures but it’s quite difficult to identify the other three characters from the quality of the photo.

As I’ve mentioned, the original Facebook post was removed by the author eventually. But thanks to other LEGO fan blogs like Jay’s Brick Blog, we are now able to catch a glimpse of what to expect from LEGO Ninjago’s Summer 2023 wave.

Additionally, Pricevortex managed to include the names of the sets included in this next series of LEGO Ninjago Summer 2023 mech sets which is expected to arrive in June. To be more accurate, these names have been floating on the Internet since late December of last year. Check out this list together with their expected number of pieces and retail price.

I’ll keep you posted once official images and product descriptions of these LEGO Ninjago Summer 2023 mech sets are in order.

LEGO Ideas Update: First Thirteen Qualifiers for the First LEGO Ideas 2023 Review Stage

Now that the LEGO Ideas Third 2022 Review Stage has been wrapped up, we are now seeing the initial batch of product ideas that managed to gather that needed 10K support to be included in the First 2023 LEGO Ideas Review Stage. Here’s a look at some of the product ideas that may turn out to be the next official LEGO Ideas set.

Right off the bat, I have to say that I am personally cheering for Ashnflash’s Shrek’s Swamp – 20th Anniversary set and the Retro Comic Store by LEGOverwatch. Ashnflash LEGO Ideas concept was an overnight success considering that an official LEGO set inspired by Dreamwork’s iconic green ogre can potentially become a tie-in set to celebrate this 2oth anniversary milestone. The recent box office success of the Shrek spin-off Puss in Boots: The Last Wish also catapulted this proposed set to 10K stardom.

Another product idea that I hope to see become a reality is the Retro Comic Store. It will be a great addition to any LEGO City MOC and other LEGO modular sets. It is also cool to see some vintage comic book titles rendered into printed LEGO titles, similar to our custom LEGO 2×2 printed tiles that we offer at our official storefront.

In any case, I hope for the success of all these product ideas as they enter this year’s LEGO Ideas First 2023 Review Stage. In no particular order, here are the initial batch of this year’s LEGO Ideas qualifiers. Click on their respective links below to learn more about these potential LEGO Ideas sets.

SDCC ’22 LEGO Panel: LEGO Ninjago Goes On

San Diego Comic Con 2022 is now behind us, and we congratulate them for pulling it off. It was definitely nice to see plenty of new upcoming media from a wide variety of sources. Of course, we include LEGO among them. Already we got a taste of some LEGO set tie-ins with “Avatar: The Way of Water” for example. But LEGO also has its own original content that’s been consistent hits with kids worldwide. They’ll never let us forget about their “Ninjago” animated series, which has been on for double-digit seasons already. SDCC gave the perfect opportunity to tell fans what’s in store later on.

As reported by The Brick Fan, new info on the continuation of current LEGO Ninjago season surfaced at SDCC22. “Ninjago: Crystalized” started just this past May, with 12 episodes premiered. The rest, according to the LEGO Entertainment panel, will premiere October. In the US, that comes by way of Netflix exclusively. Only Nickelodeon Denmark and Canada’s YTV and Teletoon still carry the series on good old TV channels. The only other hints given on plot points for “Crystalized” involve more screentime for Dareth and Harumi.

But that’s not all. “LEGO Ninjago” animation will not yet end anytime soon. Another season is in the works that’ll premiere in 2023. The series production team can only hint at the next part of the saga being “new” and “different”. That doesn’t mean a reboot however. More info might come to light when next year’s first LEGO Ninjago wave gets teased towards the Holidays. Aside from “Ninjago”, the LEGO panel at SDCC showcased some LEGO Star Wars shorts. They also had “LEGO Masters US” judges Jamie and Amy hype season 3. That one premieres on September 21 at FOX.
