Next year, one of the most pioneering sci-fi films in terms of the use of CGI on live-action will be celebrating its Silver Anniversary: the 1993 Universal Pictures blockbuster, Jurassic Park, directed by Steven Spielberg based on the novel by Michael Crichton.
The studio is revving up to celebrate 25 years of fiction’s most famous dinosaur park by unleashing an avalanche of tie-in merchandising across multiple media platforms. This milestone celebration also comes alongside the worldwide premiere of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, the fifth film in the franchise and direct sequel to the hit comeback movie Jurassic World in 2015.
Now, it’s been known that LEGO is also once again in partnership with Universal in cranking out merchandising for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. As early as April this year, there has been news of the company is planning no less than five standard LEGO sets (75926, 75927, 75928, 75929, 75930), three Junior sets (10756, 10757, 10758) and two Duplo sets (10879, 10880) that will most definitely depict events from the upcoming sequel.
There would also be LEGO books – in paperback and digital format – based on the setting such as “Owen’s Survival Guide” from Scholastic and a LEGO Jurassic World “Reader with Stickers.” There’s no word yet, however, if they will also cook up new LEGO sets or merchandise tying to the original Jurassic Park on its anniversary. It should be recalled that LEGO released some play sets and a humorous CGI web short entitled Indominus Escape when Jurassic World came out two years ago.
The official “Jurassic Park” 25th Anniversary items that were confirmed include a commemorative silver-plated coin (with the logo as the head and a fossilized mosquito as the tail), which is slated to be released this November. Also coming are art print posters, a children’s adaptation from Little Golden Books, a junior novelization reissue in hardback, and more to be announced.
Universal plans to devote January to April 2018 for celebrating the silver anniversary of the original film, with the rest of the year being devoted to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. The sequel premieres on June 22, 2018.
After the official announcement that LEGO will launch a handful of tie-in sets for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom due to be released on April, 2018, we now have pieces of info that may suggest how this highly anticipated theme will take shape.
A quick browse over at Brickset’s database will show how LEGO intends to package the entire theme, which is expected to be represented across the Juniors and Duplo lines as well. As it seems, we have three (3) Juniors sets, two (2) Duplo sets, and five (5) regular LEGO sets that will be tied-in with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

A few days ago, Dutch LEGO fan site, Bouwsteentjes shared some insider info on how the regular LEGO Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom sets may look like. Without being much of a spoiler, these initial descriptions gives us a glimpse of how these sets will fare, and what new figures and features we can expect. Here’s some rough translation as provided Jurassic World fan site, Jurassic Outpost. Take note that this only include set numbers 75926 to 75929, and may change anytime depending on LEGO’s fine-tuning.
LEGO Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (75926); priced @ 24.99 EUR A set containing a blue-grey 4×4 vehicle with a Pteranodon. There is one minifigure in the set.
LEGO Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (75927); priced @ 39.99 EUR Looks like the Jurassic World Raptor Escape (75920). The difference is that the set looks more like a residence instead of a cage. The walls are high and there’s some kind of stage on which a minifigure can stand. Looks like it only contains one raptor and two minifigures in the set.
LEGOJurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (75928); priced 59.99 EUR A set with a helicopter, which, from what we can take from the picture, can capture a dinosaur from the air. The dino most likely being a raptor. Also a small vehicle is included, probably a quad. Number of minifigures, unknown.
LEGOJurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (75929); priced 79.99 EUR This is a more expensive set, containing a big transport truck, like seen in Jurassic World: Raptor Rampage (75917), a gyrosphere, a tower with grapple hook and a T-Rex. The number of minifigures is uncertain, but it looks to be 4.
So what do you think about these sets? Honestly, it seems that LEGO’s choice of dinos in these sets sounds more like a rehash of previous ones. However, if you’re a fan of raptors, these sets will certainly not disappoint. We just have to wait and see until the big reveal sometime in April 2018.
This year’s New York Comic Con is now on its last leg, and with it comes a reveal of a handful of new LEGO sets scheduled for release in January and April next year. The news surfaced when the good ‘ol folks from Jedi News were able to snap some photos of the LEGO BrickHeadz truck used to distribute the NYCC exclusive, LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz Boba Fett and Han Solo in Carbonite (41498). On display was a pretty neat poster hinting on 12 new BrickHeadz, all slated for release in 2018. Expected to be available in January and April, these new collectibles are all based on upcoming films such as the Justice League (#21-#24), Star Wars The Last Jedi and presumably from the Han Solo Anthology (#25, #26. #39, #40), and Avengers: Infinity War (#35-#38).
We don’t have any official word yet on what the DCEU and MCU-based BrickHeadz will be, but Brickset has updated its database to include Rey #25 (41602) and Kylo Ren #26 (41603) as they are seen from The Last Jedi. Rumor also has it that sets 41608 and 41609 will be that of Han Solo #39 and Chewbacca #49 respectively. Leaked images of the Rey and Kylo Ren BrickHeadz are now making their round online, and I trust you know the way if you really wanted to see these.
There are also some speculations floating around about what the rest of the 2018 BrickHeadz will be. Based on their silhouettes, it is not far-fetched to consider that the Justice Lague BrickHeadz will be that of The Flash (#21), Wonder Woman (#22), Aquaman (#23 – the trident is a no-brainer, giveaway), and Cyborg (#24). Those BrickHeadz from the Avengers: Infinity War series is a little bit tricky to decipher, save perhaps from Starlord (#36) and his signature laser blasters.
In similar news, the Force seems to be strong with shop.LEGO.com, now that it has unveiled two additional LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz under its belt, making the movie franchise as of this writing, the most represented license in the LEGO BrickHeadz line. Finn #19 (41485) and Captain Phasma #20 (41486) now both have their BrickHeadz counterpart, as seen in The Force Awakens. Here are their official images and a couple of product description from LEGO. Now that the hype surrounding the LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon (75192) has simmered down a bit, and that the Falcon is seemingly taking a break from the spotlight now that it is out of stock from virtually all LEGO stores and at shop.LEGO.com, let’s take a look at another wave of LEGO sets that were quietly released by LEGO during the past week.
If you are following the recent developments about the future of this last bastion of the toys-to-life genre, then the above headline will not come as much as a surprise to you. We’ve reported several months ago that Wave 9 of LEGO Dimensions is likely to be its very last, and that the whole theme is now probably slated to be cancelled. Considering all the telltale signs that appeared during the past months, we have reasons to believe that this is going to be the case.
Nevertheless, it doesn’t mean that LEGO Dimensions Wave 9 is less to be desired now that it is officially available, featuring the iconic characters of Beetlejuice, the Powerpuff Girls, Teen Titans Go! For those who are intending to add Wave 9 to their LEGO Dimensions collection, then you might be glad to hear that all of these characters are not exclusive to any retailer. LEGO has recently uploaded an image on their Twitter page on what could be a teaser on the next wave of LEGO Batman Movie sets. If you recall, a rumor has surfaced two months ago on what could comprise the third wave of TLBM sets slated to be released early in 2018, and now it seems that LEGO has given out the first clue on how some of these sets may look like. The talk in brick town suggests that we will be seeing five (5) TLBM sets in 2018 which includes unnumbered sets such as Justice League Anniversary Party, Egghead’s Food Fight, Harley Quinn’s Cannon Ball Attack, Bat-Buggy, and the Bat-Space Shuttle. Interestingly, some of these abovementioned sets, including that of a modified Bat Segway called the Whirly-Bat (which is one of the many actual bat vehicles that Batman and Robin used in the comics), can be seen in some of the pages of DK’s The LEGO Batman Movie: The Making of the Movie. According to DK, some of the vehicles and contraptions that were seen in the Batcave in TLBM were built as actual LEGO sets, and the book itself may be giving away clues on how these Wave 3 sets may actually look like.

The highly prized LEGO Ideas NASA Apollo Saturn V (21309) may probably still sit on the top of our must-have LEGO sets of the year, but unfortunately, in spite of the relative early shelf life of this set since its release last June, the availability of the Apollo Saturn V (21309) has been notoriously close to none. True, we have the reassuring words from the LEGO Ideas Team that the set will not be retired right away given that it has only been three months in circulation since its release on June 1st. There were also moments when the NASA Apollo Saturn V set has been available at LEGO shop@home on very seldom occasions. However, the obvious unavailability of the set for weeks has cast a shadow of a doubt on the truth behind the availability of this highly sought after set.
For weeks already, shop.LEGO.com has always returned a ‘Temporarily Out of Stock’ message each time a query has been made for this set. Similarly, LEGO Brand and Certified stores have been informing customers about the indefinite date of 21309’s arrival in their respective stores. In search for answers, our friends from Promo Bricks decided to dig deeper and was able to have a privileged conversation with an undisclosed LEGO Product Manager. This may sound very, very sad, but according to Promo Bricks, the said manager has revealed that LEGO no longer has plans of producing the highly prized set. In other words, they are now in the process of delivering and selling the last copies of 21309 that went into production.
From the LEGO Group’s business perspective, this somehow makes sense, especially considering what a LEGO Customer Service Rep told Promo Bricks. According to the said LEGO CSR, even before a set is released for sale, there is already a pre-determined number of copies that each set is expected to have. This number is not usually revealed to the public, and the sets are produced in batches. When the demand exceeds the pre-determined supply eventually, then better expect delivery delays and ultimately the set’s cancellation. Furthermore, given the long lead-times needed to produce such great sets like the LEGO Ideas NASA Apollo Saturn V (21309), it is very impractical to produce more sets just for a short-term supply. Simply put, the NASA Apollo Saturn V (21309) set is hugely popular and a solid success that LEGO could no longer supply the growing demand.
But then again, these are just assumptions that we have based on currently available information. Perhaps LEGO will still reconsider and we will still get to see this gorgeous set once again on store shelves. Let’s just hope for the best.

While most of the LEGO Star Wars faithful has now fixed their gaze on the grandest revealthat LEGO has slated this Force Friday II, it seems that we can expect more LEGO Star Wars 2018 sets to be unveiled towards the end of the year and even until the first quarter.
Our brick intel (courtesy once more of RebelScum) suggests that we’ll be seeing more battle packs, a new wave of microfighters, and another Ultimate Collectors Series in the works. Here’s a breakdown of what we know regarding their set numbers, titles, and brief descriptions whenever they’re available. If you’re looking for watermarked images, I trust that you’ll know your way around. Some of these names are not final and may be changed anytime at LEGO’s discretion.
Sets and Minifigures
Tatooine Battle Pack (75198)
Features a small tracked utility sled. Minifigures include two Jawas, a Tusken Raider and a blue-topped astromech apparently suspended on the utility sled.
Jedi and Clone Troopers Battle Pack (75206)
Includes a mini version of the Republic Dropship with two Clone Troopers, Coleman Trebor and Ki-Adi-Mundi minifigures.
General Grievous’s Combat Speeder (75199)
Coming straight from the Clone Wars, this set includes a repulsorcraftwith a pair of spring-loaded shooters and a movable column that serves as a steering mechanism as well. Minifigures include Mace Windu and General Grievous.
Yoda’s Hut (75208)
The set consists of the iconic retirement home of Yoda at the planet of Dagobah. It consists of a brick-built hut with some plant and foliage elements. Included are the minifigures of Yoda, Luke Skywalker and R2-D2. Yoda may also be placed on Luke’s back via another minifig accessory to recreate the latter’s Jedi training as seen in the Empire Strikes Back.
There’s also a next wave of The Last Jedi sets placed in four generic grey boxes all numbered 75197, 75200, 75201 and 75202 respectively. Rumor has it that one of these sets will include Rey’s training in planet Ahch-To, which means we’ll get to see the highly sought after Old Man Luke in his minifigure form.

Other than Darth Vader who already has a buildable figure of his own in 2015’s LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader (75111), it is a first for Boba Fett and Darth Maul to have ultrabuilds of their own. There are two more buildable figures (75535 and 75536) whose boxes have been blacked out, but our info suggests that these may be tied up with the Han Solo anthology, similar to what LEGO did when it introduced several Rogue One characters in their buildable figure versions.
As a last note, there are also rumors that may suggest that another LEGO Star Wars UCS is currently in the works, with all the signs pointing on what could be a remake of 2004’s Y-Wing Attack Starfighter (10134). If this is the case, then we can certainly see this UCS set probably released during the first half of 2018.
LEGO has finally releasedyesterday its presumably last teaser of the largest LEGO set ever, and we can somehow expect that within the next hours leading to the big reveal on September 1, we will be able to see plenty of sightings of this elusive LEGO UCS set. More information (aka leaks) are now slowly trickling its way via social media, and just a few moments ago, RebelScum stumbled upon some images from a particular Italian LEGO Catalog that clearly shows how the box of the LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon (75192) actually looks like. These images were first shared by Windyjago over at Twitter, which you can see below.
I guess these first images of the MF will finally put all doubts aside, that this next UCS is indeed the remake of the Falcon. We’re not sure if LEGO’s men-in-black enforcers will soon be standing on our doorsteps, demanding to take this article down, but as far as we are concerned these first images seem to have come from a legitimate LEGO Store catalog, as mentioned by Windyjago. If you will notice closely on the right side of the box, you will see the earlier leaked, Chinese version of the MF’s promotional poster/flyer showing the fine details of the set.
As a final note, other than seeing the set’s official images, I am very much interested on the description written on the side of the box. It will probably give us some idea (like they always do in certain commemorative sets) on what motivated LEGO to come up with another re-release, just as this.
We’re almost there! In roughly 48 hours, we’ll get to see what is in store in that large, bulky box that LEGO touted as their largest set ever created. For the whole month of August, LEGO was quite deliberate in releasing their scheduled teasers and earlier today, LEGO has revealed their last hint in this series of reveals. Released via their social media channels, LEGO gives fans an idea on how you’ll be able to carry this set if you prefer to purchase this from any LEGO store (that is, if there will be enough sets available for everyone).
Placed side by side with 2016’s LEGO Star Wars UCS Death Star (75159) which can easily fit inside LEGO’s largest yellow plastic bag, this 4,000-piece set just pales in comparison with the mammoth sized set known to most already as the much rumored LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon (75192). It is so huge at approximately 18.7 pounds (or 8.5 kilos) that no LEGO plastic bag can handle the weight. In LEGO’s latest tweet, set 75192 is so large that it will require wheels to be transported out of a LEGO store. Now, the only question is, will they give you a push cart if you have the cash to burn and you eventually decide to purchase two or more sets. Hmmm…
Since this is the very last teaser that we can expect from LEGO before the big, official reveal on Force Friday II, our Brick Show Brian has come up with a roundup of all the things that we know so far (see video above) about LEGO’s ‘worst kept secret in all of LEGO history’. Without a shadow of doubt, there are strong evidences to show that this super secret set is indeed an extremely large remake of the Millennium Falcon, which first appeared as a LEGO Ultimate Collector’s set ten years ago, tagged as the LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon (10179).
But perhaps the biggest concern in everyone’s mind at this point has little to do with how we will be able to carry it out from the store, but more of how we can even have access to it in the first place. Will it be a limited series release? Will there be pre-orders? Are there limited quantities? Will LEGO be able to catch up with the demands even before October 1 arrives when the set becomes available to the general public?
These are very real concerns, considering how the LEGO Ideas NASA Apollo Saturn V (21309) set still appears to be Out of Stock at shop.LEGO.com. Moreover, we don’t have any official word yet from LEGO if there will be limited quantities around say 5,000 or so. If that will be the case, then we can definitely expect retailers to run like mad and grab all these ‘gold’ plastics and we may not even see them on store shelves anymore.
We certainly hope that LEGO has a back-up plan of some sorts for this re-release of the UCS Millennium Falcon to ensure that this set will remain in shelves for the next few years. Because even though it has a hefty tag price of around $700 or more and not all people will be able to afford it, the reality is, there are still a good number of people who is willing to spend such an insane amount of money for this extraordinary LEGO set.

LEGO’s most recent tweet has already confirmed that this is the largest LEGO Star Wars set ever made, in fact THE largest LEGO set ever to be offered to the public dwarfing the current contender which is 2008’s Taj Mahal (10189). At a whopping 7,541 pieces, this mystery set is estimated to retail anywhere between $600 to $700 USD as calculated by Brickset.
In related news, LEGO is now giving away flyers pointing to the set’s debut on September 1 at all LEGO Stores worldwide. If we understand correctly what the LEGO September Store Calendar says, this uber massive LEGO Star Wars mystery set will be available for early VIP access from September 14 to 30, and will be available to the general public starting October 1.
