August-Released LEGO Marvel Sakaarian Iron Man (76194) Possibly Based on Unfinished “What If…?” Episode Now In Season 2

Back in August and September several LEGO Marvel products came out, based on the Disney+ streaming series “What If…?” The premise of this animated anthology centered on various alternate timelines created by divergent events from the canon MCU. This was reflected in the Minifigures Series (71031) plus the Captain Carter and HYDRA Stomper (76201). One set however stands out; more so now that “What If…?” has only one episode left. Tony Stark’s Sakaarian Iron Man (76194) doesn’t seem to fit with any of the alternate storylines featured. When in the series does it fit, then?

Again, Brick Fanatics has the possible answer: the Sakaarian Iron Man belongs to a “What If…?” episode that was moved to season 2. They cite an August interview with the series executive producer Brad Winderbaum on Collider. Winderbaum notes that the series would comprise of 10 episodes for its inaugural season. The pandemic however affected production so much that one episode got pushed back. “What If…?” premiered August 11 so this info didn’t seem too important. But now that episodes 8 and 9 turn out to be a connected story, it suddenly became relevant again.

Episode 8 “What If…Ultron Won?” ended in a cliffhanger this past September 29. It suddenly didn’t seem feasible that the series finale could feature a storyline on Sakaar with Tony Stark. Therefore, the Sakaarian Iron Man (76194) likely features in the episode that’s now in “What If…?” season 2. Tony Stark and Valkyrie’s minifigures being accompanied by series narrator the Watcher here did seem strange. We feel how unfortunate that is. The Hulkbuster-sized Iron Man armor that transforms into a racecar would have been cool to watch on streaming. “What If…?” concludes season 1 on Disney+ this coming October 6. No date’s confirmed yet for the premiere of season 2.

LEGO Marvel Eternals Sets Confirmed for October Release

The LEGO Marvel Eternals sets now have a confirmed released date, as confirmed by LEGO’s home shopping portal. LEGO Shop@Home has now officially listed these four tie-in sets, with a release date of October 1st.

Though images of these sets were well-circulated online several months ago, their official product descriptions now give us a better look at what to expect from them once they are made available next month. And the timing of the release couldn’t be better considering that MCU’s Eternals will finally arrive in theaters come November 5th.

LEGO Marvel The Avengers Advent Calendar (76196) Officially Revealed

Following the official reveal of our very first MCU-inspired LEGO CMF (71031), LEGO’s Malaysian online store has been updated to now include the LEGO Marvel The Avengers Advent Calendar (76196) slated to be available later this year.

First revealed via LEGO’s Japanese online catalog, the LEGO Marvel The Avengers Advent Calendar (76196) is expected to retail for $40. And since it is already listed on LEGO’s servers, we can assume that this first Marvel-inspired Advent Calendar will also appear in LEGO’s US online shopping portal any time soon.

Based on its official images, we can likewise expect the following minifigures to included be included in the said LEGO Advent Calendar: Iron Man (in holiday sweaters), Spider-Man (with mug and churros), Nick Fury, Captain Marvel, Thanos, Thor (with red scarf), Black Widow (with a stick of marshmallow). The mini builds do not disappoint as well. We have a miniaturized Quinjet, Helicarrier, Hall of Armor, Avengers Tower, and an Infinity Gauntlet complete with all six Infinity Stones. For what it’s worth, this Advent Calendar is the best and most cost-effective way to have this iconic minifigure cosmic weapon, complete with all the stones.

Here’s A Closer Look at the LEGO Minifigures Marvel Studios Series (71031)

Now that LEGO has made it official, LEGO Marvel fans can now have a closer look at the latest LEGO Minifigures Marvel Studios Series (71031) before they arrive in stores and online in September. Here are some close-up images of these 12 MCU characters in their LEGO minifigure forms. From what we can also read from the series’ official product description, it seems that LEGO has also revealed some of these characters’ official names especially those that will be featured in the upcoming Disney+ What If…? series. I’ll be referring to these official names in the list below.

I’ll try to keep my personal opinions at a minimum since I don’t want to make this sound like a lengthy review. But just to point out, and similar to what LEGO offered in the LEGO DC Comics CMF (71026), each LEGO Marvel minifigure will also include the angled bar element for a more dynamic minifigure pose.

LEGO Minifigures Marvel Studios Series (71031) Officially Revealed

After many teaser updates and rumors, LEGO has officially revealed its LEGO Minifigures Marvel Studios Series (71031). Scheduled to arrive in September, each collectible minifigure blind bag is expected to retail for $4.99.

Based on new MCU characters that were featured in recent and upcoming Disney+ series (WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, What If…?), this CMF series includes 12 Marvel superhero minifigs namely The Scarlet Witch, White Vision, Monica Rambeau, The Winter Soldier, Captain America, Loki, Sylvie, T’Challa Star-Lord, Captain Carter, Gamora with the Blade of Thanos, Zombie Hunter Spidey, and Zombie Captain America.

Obviously, LEGO is investing much of its tie-in sets in promoting these Disney+ series, and this time around, we have this particular CMF series to look forward to as well. Though I have to say that I do prefer the direction that LEGO took when it introduced its LEGO DC Comics CMF (71026) last year which is primarily based on their comic book counterparts. There is a lot of potential candidates coming from the source material in my opinion, and I am somewhat hoping that LEGO will still consider offering another set of LEGO Marvel CMF based on their comic book origins.

More Hints on the LEGO Marvel Collectible Minifigures Series (71031)

The full-length official trailer of the next MCU Disney+ series has already been released, and with it comes more hints on what we can expect from the upcoming LEGO Marvel Collectible Minifigures Series (71031). In case you missed it, you may watch it right here.

If you recall from last month, I published a list of these rumored MCU characters that are said to be included in the next LEGO CMF series. First off, it is clear by now that unlike last year’s DC Comics-inspired LEGO CMF (71026), the LEGO Marvel Collectible Minifigures Series (71031) source material will be entirely from the new MCU Disney+ offerings – from WandaVision up to the animated What If…? series. And now that we have seen the official trailer of the upcoming multiverse series, coupled with the exciting reveals of Loki’s episode 5, we can better fine-tune our list.

With more information coming from Brick Fanatics, here’s the latest rundown of what we can expect from our next licensed LEGO CMF.

  - Monica Rambeau (it was initially thought that it was Agatha Harkness, but the latest word from brick street shows that it will be the super-powered SWORD operative)
  - Captain America Sam Wilson (with shield and new wings)
  - Bucky Barnes (with new printed arm and knife)
  - Loki (in a trench coat with the word VARIANT printed at the back, and Throg as an accessory as seen in Loki Episode 5)
  - Sylvie (now that the Loki series has revealed Sylvie as the one trying to burn the TVA to the ground instead of Lady Loki, we can expect her to be in the LEGO CMF as well)
  - Captain Britain Peggy Carter (with shield and Tessaract)
  - Zombie Captain America
  - Star-Lord T’Challa (with a pair of blasters)
  - Spider Supreme (it was initially thought that this will be a Steve Rogers version of Spidey, but the latest official trailer of What If…? has shown this character to be a multiverse counterpart of Peter Parker with a penchant for a Doctor Strange-like capes)
  - Warlord Gamora (inspired by Thanos and wields a double blade similar to what the Mad Titan used

Though sources tell us that we can expect only 12 minifigures from this line-up, I’m still hoping they will throw in more minifigures coming from this Marvel and Disney+ collab. I guess we just have to wait for LEGO’s official word which I believe will be anytime soon.

Marvel Studios’ “What If…?” Official Trailer Now Up

Earlier today, Marvel Entertainment has released its official trailer for the upcoming animated series “What If…?” slated to stream over at Disney+ next month. In case you missed it, here’s a look at the 2-minute video.

The trailer begins with a very familiar scene from MCU’s initial film, Iron Man, where Tony Stark is faced with the mortal danger caused by his own company’s manufactured weapons. Then out of nowhere, Killmonger appears single-handedly throwing the rogue rocket out of the way and presumably making friends with the future Iron Man.

True to its title, the What If…? series explores the seemingly infinite possibilities of a Marvel cinematic multiverse, told from the perspective of the enigmatic Uatu the Watcher. And for the first time since the release of other MCU and Disney+ series such as WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki, LEGO has revealed its first sets inspired directly by an MCU Disney+ series. We can expect a couple of LEGO Marvel tie-in sets in the likes of the LEGO Marvel Captain Carter & The Hydra Stomper (76201) which is now available for pre-order over at LEGO Shop@Home. And the LEGO Marvel Tony Stark’s Sakaarian Iron Man (76194), slated to be released in August. On top of these sets, we can also expect the arrival of a new LEGO Marvel CMF Series directly inspired by this wave of Disney+ shows. These sets are both scheduled to be released on August 1, with the LEGO Marvel Collectible Minifigures (71031) expected to be officially revealed.

LEGO Marvel Bro Thor’s New Asgard (76200) Set Officially Revealed

Following an early sneak peek of LEGO MCU’s latest Infinity Saga set, LEGO Malaysia’s online store has now officially listed the LEGO Marvel Bro Thor’s New Asgard (76200). As part of its Infinity Saga LEGO Marvel subtheme, this is a direct tie-in to the events of Endgame where we can see Thor and his Ragnarok buddies having a video game blast at their humble abode.

The LEGO Marvel Bro Thor’s New Asgard (76200) comes in at 265 pieces and is expected to retail for $29.99 once it is made available in August. It is currently unavailable over at LEGO Shop@Home’s US portal but given that the set is now appearing at LEGO’s regional online stores, then chances are, it might be listed locally anytime soon.

The set features the Endgame version of Thor, or Bro Thor as he is referred to, Korg, and a buildable Miek. Read on for the set’s full product descriptions and official images. I will update this post once this set becomes available in the US.
