They were spotted in Target stores in the US last a couple of weeks along with the re-colored Sandspeeder (75204), and this time LEGO has finally unveiled its very first LEGO Star Wars The Last Jedi BrickHeadz with the official reveal of the Rey and Kylo Ren (41489) set. This limited edition Collector’s Pack is a Target store exclusive that has 249 pieces and retails for $19.99. The announcement was made via LEGO’s Facebook page as you can see below.
As mentioned by Brickset, these BrickHeadz versions of Rey and Kylo Ren may also be purchased separately as sets 41602 and 41603 respectively. If you only plan on getting only one of these Force-wielding, brick-built chibi-sized characters, then you may purchase them separately for $9.99. We’re still waiting for official images of these separate sets, and we’ll let you know as soon as we have official word of their availability. For now, if you happen to visit a Target store anytime soon, be sure to be on a look out for this limited edition, LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz bundle.
Since the launch of this year’s Target Toy Book a few weeks ago, some leery eyed collectors were closely eyeing on a relatively, unappealing piece of promotion, or so as we thought. For a minimum purchase of any LEGO Star Wars products worth $30 and above at any Target stores starting today and throughout the whole week, entitles you to a free LEGO Star Wars Micro Millennium Falcon Polybag. Alternately, you may also opt to purchase this polybag separately for $4.99.
The polybag promo comes with 20 LEGO grey pieces including a clear bar piece and a printed minifigure stand. If not for the printed plate and bar, I guess this one will be sitting on store shelves for a long, long, time. However, what happened next is quite the contrary. We’ve received reports that the said Micro MF polybags are now sold-out in some Target stores.

Apparently, the polybag was a hit for more unconventional reasons. LEGO Star Wars minifig collectors may have struck gold with these minifigure baseplates – a good way to flaunt their prized collection. However for a price point of $5 per polybag for a single LEGO piece, I think it is too much of a haul for me.
Well, I guess even LEGO collectors have different tastes and preferences. I just hope that this poly will not suffer the same fate as that of its way larger sibling, the UCS Millennium Falcon (75192). Be sure to check out with your local Target store first if they still have the LEGO Star Wars Micro Millennium Falcon polybag (DPCI# 204-00-0266) lying around in the LEGO section. Thanks to FBTB for sharing these images.
After the reveal of the Sandspeeder (75204) and the Target limited edition LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz Rey and Kylo (41489), we now have several images coming in that gives us a glimpse at other LEGO Star Wars sets included in this wave. Slated to be released in January next year, we have what it seems 13 new sets, 4 of which have images that are already circulating the Internet since two days ago via Reddit. Check these out.
Microfighters: Millenium Falcon (75193)
Microfighters: First Order TIE Fighter (75194)
Tatooine Battle Pack (75198)
General Grievous’ Combat Speeder (75199)
Other LEGO Star Wars sets that are said to be a part of the January 2018 release are as follows:
Microfighters
No mention of what minifigures are included in these sets as of this posting.
Ski Speeder vs. First Order Walker (75195)
A-Wing vs. TIE Silencer (75196)
Battle Packs
First Order Specialists Battle Pack (75197) – I assume that this set will include a selection of never before seen First Order troopers, both from The Force Awakens, and The Last Jedi not far away from what LEGO released last year with the First Order Battle Pack (75132) and First Order Transport Speeder Battle Pack (75166). Set 75197 is said to include 3 to 5 First Order Troopers.
Regular Sets
Ahch-To Island Training (75200) – if this is indeed an official LEGO set, then we might finally have an old man Luke minifigure that LEGO has been hinting on for quite some time already. Tyler also previously created a MOC around this scene, so be sure to check it out.
????? (75201) – described as a diorama looking set, I guess it has something to do with the set depicting a particular background similar to that of the Battle on Takodana (75139) and Battle on Scarif (75171) sets. 75201 is said to feature a redesigned Captain Phasma, and First Order disguised Finn and Rose. Images of these minifigures have been circulating via Instagram so its just a matter of clicks before you can find them.
Defense/Battle on Crait (75202) – similar to 75201, this set may also feature a diorama-like, outside battle scene but this time, on the crimson red sands of the planet Crait. If our predictions are correct, then this set might include the long overdue Resistance Skimmer that we are waiting to see. Tyler made a custom LEGO Resistance Skimmer MOC a few months ago, so it’s kind of interesting to see how the official LEGO set will turn out. The set includes four minifigures: Poe Dameron, Two Resistance Soldiers, and one mystery minifig.
Buildable Figures
We’re not sure if these are all rehash or re-releases, but most likely it could be the former.
Boba Fett (75533)
Darth Vader (75534)
We’ll keep our radar open for more LEGO Star Wars news and updates so be sure to stick around.
It has been customary for the Toy Industry Association Inc. to recognize certain toy manufacturers for their outstanding contribution to the toy industry, and LEGO is one of the industry leaders that have a legacy of being recognized time and again as a Toy of the Year (TOTY) awardee. Last year, we saw LEGO bagging not just one, but two awards with the beautiful and mechanically impressive LEGO Friends and Amusement Park Roller Coaster (41130) earning the title of Construction Toy of the Year Award, while the grand LEGO Disney Castle (71040) received the Specialty Toy of the Year.
As it seems, it looks like LEGO has earned a greater chance of bagging the same title again. Earlier this week, online voting for this year’s TOTY has officially begun, and LEGO once more dominated the nominees’ list with five sets under various categories. Nominated for Collectible of the Year, we have the LEGO Batman Movie Collectible Minifigures (71017). For Construction Toy of the Year it is everybody’s favorite droid in brick form, LEGO Star Wars BB-8 (75187) and Captain Salazar’s dreaded ghost ship, the LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean Silent Mary (71042) that has made it to the cut of being qualified as nominees. The still elusive, and hard-to-find, LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon (75192) also made it as a nominee for Specialty Toy of the Year, and the LEGO Boost Creative Toolbox (17101) was named as a candidate for Tech Toy of the Year.
It should be noted that a LEGO-compatible product also made it to the roster of TOTY finalists with the Mayka Toy Block Tape by Zulu. The concept behind a LEGO-tape is relatively new and has recently caught the fancy of builders both young and old.
The voting process officially began last November 3, and will end on January 5, 2018. The voting will include not just Association members, retailers, and journalists, but also the consumers. The winners will be announced in a formal presentation ceremony on February 16, 2018. You may refer to this link for the complete set of guidelines on how the Toy of the Year finalists were selected. Consumer voting is on-going, and if you wish to show your support for these LEGO sets, then head over to the voting page for the Toy of the Year Awards.
Do you agree with this year’s selection of nominees? Do you have another LEGO set that you wish were included in the nominees list? Drop us a comment below and tell us what you think.
Retail store chain, Target has been remarkably full of surprises lately when it comes to their offering of LEGO products. Quite recently, one of their stores in Texas surprised buyers by not just stocking LEGO Star Wars sets that were supposed to come to the market only towards the end of this year, but actually selling them now.
And then, after treating customers to a glimpse of the future, Target is bringing back one of their exclusive minifigure gift packs from two years ago. If you happened to miss this then now’s the time to get it since Target is making available once again their 2015 LEGO Minifigure Gift Set (5004077) exclusive. This pack contains four minifigures, one from DC Comics and the other three from LEGO’s own themes: Ninjago, Legends of Chima, and good old LEGO City.
For its original price of $9.99, fans can get minifigures of Lightning Lad from DC’s Legion of Superheroes, Ninjago’s Kai (voiced by Michael Peña in The LEGO Ninjago Movie), Sir Fangar from Legends of Chima, and a generic diver from LEGO City. All but Lightning Lad have either helmets or accessories, though it features a dual printed minifigure head.
The 2015 LEGO Target Minifigure Gift Set making a comeback is but one of the numerous surprises that the store chain has been springing on LEGO buyers lately. Remember that they already have a bunch of other promos lined up throughout November as outlined in the LEGO section of their 2017 Toy Book catalog.
As of this writing, their current giveaway is the LEGO Seasonal Christmas Ornament (5004934), that goes for free with a minimum $35 purchase of any LEGO products at Target. This lasts up until November 11, when a new giveaway will take its place.
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has just announced the release date for The LEGO Ninjago Movie in digital HD and Blu-ray formats. Garmadon seems to be in a good mood in announcing the home video release via the film’s official Facebook and Twitter accounts. Well, not until some of his goons messed up a bit. Watch Garmadon as he makes the announcement of the film’s home release, and well, the eventual conquest of your living rooms.
There’s been no official word yet if this home video packs will come with an exclusive minifigure. Though we haven’t seen the LEGO Movie and LEGO Batman Movie given such treatment, I do hope that LEGO will be generous with this one and throw in an exclusive minifigure bundle. Okay, so Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi is coming into cinemas this December 15, bringing us to the halfway point of the franchise’s Disney-produced sequel trilogy. As a long-standing partner when it comes to Star Wars merchandising, LEGO has been one of the most prominent tie-in product manufacturers for this sprawling space opera.
They already have certain LEGO Star Wars sets ready to hit the market the following year. But apparently some of these hotly anticipated merchandises have already been supplied to certain retail outlets. What’s more, they appear to already be being sold well before their supposed release date.
The first reported in-store sighting of LEGO Star Wars sets slated for 2018 was in a Target store over in Texas. Not only were they already on display, with the next year still a ways off, but apparently several units of the sets have already found their way in the hands of some lucky ultra-early buyers. Though we have seen these images floating around the Internet for quite some time already, we have to wait for confirmation if this was actually sold at a local retailer and not just another leaked image.
Two sets in particular were spotted in this early-bird sighting. The first is a new LEGO Star Wars Sandspeeder (75204). Or at least it’s a new recolor, it being almost identical in form with the Snowspeeder (75049) from 2014, save for the desert color scheme and being 1 brick less!
We mentioned about this latest BrickHeadz set a month ago (less the image you see below), and as it turned out, the set’s availability has been confirmed. The LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz Rey and Kylo Ren (41489) is a limited edition collector’s pack which, apparently, is only sold at Target stores.
Though this combo pack may be exclusive only to Target, you can still purchase them separately as LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz Rey (41602) and Kylo (41603) in all LEGO Stores and elsewhere. Both Target and LEGO have yet to say anything about this occurrence.
When a company has such a rich and vibrant history behind it, they can certainly put that to good use by inviting their loyal fans and followers to tour that history with them.
That’s pretty much the main deal with The LEGO Company and their LEGO Inside Tour, a wondrous excursion that the company describes as a once-in-a-lifetime experience. They’ve got several tour schedules set up for next year, and registration is open.
Yes, there’s already a LEGO Live event happening in New York in February next year, but for longtime and dedicated LEGO fans with some money saved up, the LEGO InsideTour 2018 could stand to be another pinnacle of their total lifetime experience with LEGO and their products.
Throughout the following year, The LEGO Group will be guiding five groups of about 80 or so attendees at a time through some of the most memorable locations in the company’s long history as one of the world’s major toy brands.
It all takes place in LEGO’s home, the town of Billund in Denmark, and will include tours of the house of LEGO founder Ole Kirk Kristiansen, exhibits of original 1930s LEGO sets and models, and an excursion through a modern factory with chances to meet personally meet LEGO personnel and set designers. Each tour session lasts 3 days, so groups will be staying at Billund’s Hotel LEGOLAND in between company visits.
At the end of the tour, participants will receive an exclusively numbered set produced specifically as a gift for the LEGO Inside Tour, and in close collaboration with Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen. This year, tour participants received the LEGO House Tree of Creativity (4000024), a shout-out to the grandiosity of the actual 15-meter, brick-built Tree of Creativity nestled right in the middle of LEGO Square.
2017’s LEGO Inside Tour Exclusive Gift Set – The Tree Of Creativity (4000024)
Here are the five LEGO Inside Tour schedules throughout next year, for your reference:
May 23-25
May 30-June 1
June 13-15
September 12-14
September 19-21
Note however, that the registration period to join one of these tour groups is really short. It starts November 6 2017 at 10 am until Friday November 10 2017 at 10 am. All dates and times are at Continental Europe Time.
Do note that participants will need to arrange their own travel to Billund, as the LEGO Inside Tour only kicks off from the starting point at Hotel LEGOLAND, not far from the town’s international airport. Visit LEGO.com for more information, and then sign up for registration here.

The last LEGO Store Calendar of the year is now officially out in the US. Though LEGO has its usual freebies lined up for the month, I have to say that I am not really looking forward to them except probably for the re-run of the LEGO Creator Mini London Bus (40220) offered from December 8-17, and the highlight of December’s promotionals which is the commemorative LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader Anniversary Pod (5005376). There’s also another round of Double VIP points from December 8-10 so that is something to look forward to as well.
However, there is still another reason to be excited about all things LEGO – and you don’t even have to wait until December. The second page of the December LEGO Store Calendar highlights some of the 2018 LEGO City, Creator, Ninjago and Technic sets that we featured a few days ago, and included in the calendar, quite unexpectedly, is one LEGO Nexo Knights set that is also slated to debut during the first half of next year. We had our first glimpse of Axl’s Rolling Arsenal (72006) from the recent issue of LEGO Life Magazine, and this time around, we get to see another LEGO Nexo Knights set together with a brief description of its play features. The LEGO Nexo Knights Berserker Bomber (72003) offers us a brief background on who or what the next evil baddies that our heroes will be faced with. On a personal note, I find next year’s line-up of LEGO Creator sets more appealing exciting. I’m looking forward to the Modular Skate House, together with the Quake Mech, and the Berserker Bomber. Check out these set descriptions below.
LEGO City Mountain Arrest (60173)
Hop in the police helicopter and search for the crooks in their mountain hideout! Load the net launcher while you hover over the hideout and your partner rappels down beside the surprised crook. Go a bit lower and aim the net at the other crook trying to escape in the buggy.
LEGO Creator Modular Skate House (31081)
Have an awesome day at the Modular Skate House, complete with ramp, monkey bars, climbing wall, scooter, skateboard and 2 minifigures. Rebuilds into a Games Arcade or a Skate Park.
LEGO Ninjago Movie Quake Mech (70632)
Rescue TV reporter Fred Finley from the shark army! Jump into the cockpit and wheel into action. Team up with Misako to protect Fred from Mike the Spike. Then unfold the Quake Mech’s massive shoulder loudspeakers and shoot soundwaves to defeat the evil shark army!
LEGO Nexo Knights Berserker Bomber (72003)
Prepare for high-flying action with the Berserker Bomber, featuring a detachable winged eye, dual 6-stud tech infection shooters and movable wings, plus a detachable Vyro Suit for the MechaByter. Attach the jet pack to Macy and send Berserker flying back to Monstrox!
LEGO Technic Racing Yacht (42074)
Celebrate maritime ingenuity with this cool Racing Yacht, featuring a sporty color scheme, sails with lines and winches, detailed hull and a working rudder with wheel and tiller steering. This sturdy 2-in-1 advanced building set can be rebuilt to create a highly detailed Catamaran.
