LEGO Disney Magical Treehouse (43215) Coming in June!

It looks like we can expect more LEGO Disney sets along the way as we count down the months before the titular House of Mouse celebrates its 100th year anniversary. Other than a lovely collection of LEGO Disney Collectible Minifigures and LEGO Disney 100 sets, it looks like LEGO is now putting the spotlight on its renowned Disney Princesses. Arriving in June, the upcoming LEGO Disney Magical Treehouse (43215) set is expected to be a hit to all LEGO Disney minidoll collectors.

43215 6

Though LEGO is still quite mum about it, South Korea’s search platform and online store Naver, has already listed this upcoming set. And what perhaps makes this set stand out is the fact that it is jam-packed with 13 minidolls of all the Disney Princess to date. As far as I recall, there is no other LEGO set that contains as much as minidolls in one go. Coming in at 1,016 pieces, you’ll get to bring home the LEGO mini-doll versions of Elsa, Anna, Alice in Wonderland, Belle, Wendy, Tinkerbell, Mirabel, Moana, Mulan, Pocahontas, Raya, Tiana, and Jasmine.

43215 7

The LEGO Disney Magical Treehouse (43215) set is yet to appear at US LEGO.com. But my guess is that LEGO’s home shopping portal will be updated any time soon, especially since this latest offering will be part of LEGO’s product line-up for the month of June. Once listed, it is expected to retail for around $150. In the meantime, check out some of these images and take a look. Please take note that the product description mentioned here is from a raw Google translation from Korean, so pardon me if this is not quite perfect. I’ll update this post once additional information comes in.

Here’s a First Look at the LEGO Friends Advent Calendar (41690)

If you recall several weeks ago, LEGO servers somewhat accidentally uploaded an early digital copy of the Japanese LEGO Catalog for the 2nd half of 2021. By doing so, it gave us an early look at some of the sets (from LEGO Star Wars, City Stuntz, and Technic themes for example) that are slated to arrive this summer. Needless to say, the catalog was removed right away perhaps as part of TLG’s damage control with regards to accidental reveals. But now that most of the sets in that product listing are now up at LEGO Shop@Home, then the said digital catalog in question is once again uploaded. And this time around, giving us our first look at this year’s LEGO Friends Advent Calendar (41690).

41690 lego friends advent calendar

Right off the bat, we can notice that this set features a good number of micro-dolls, similar to what LEGO offered in last year’s LEGO Friends Advent Calendar (41420) with the inclusion of two elves. For this year’s holiday offering, LEGO opted to render our Friends characters in similar micro-doll form.

41690 02 lego friends advent calendar

And of course, aside from these new micro-dolls, this year’s LEGO Friends Advent Calendar will feature the usual staple of miniature, buildable holiday ornaments such as a fireplace, a doghouse, tree stockings, mailbox, lampost, and much more. It is scheduled to be available to the public starting September 9 just in time for the holidays and alongside the now listed LEGO Harry Potter Advent Calendar (76390).

First Images of LEGO Friends Summer 2020 Sets Appear

Back in January, LEGO gave us some early hints on what we can expect from the LEGO Friends summer 2020 sets, and now more info is starting to pour in. Thanks to third-party LEGO retailer Lucky Bricks, we now get to see what some of these sets have to offer.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B-AmqjkohjI/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet

Two sets, in particular, might be of interest to most LEGO fans and builders considering the new elements and pieces that go with them.

LEGO Friends Summer 2020
Check out the new transparent tube elements included in the LEGO Friends Summer Fun Water Park (41430), scheduled to arrive in June.

The LEGO Friends Summer Fun Water Park (41430) is said to come in at 1,001 pieces and will retail for €99.99 making it the largest set in this series. As I’ve mentioned in one of my reports of the Nuremberg Toy Fair, LEGO will be introducing some pretty interesting new pieces together with this new line of LEGO Friends Summer 2020 sets. Most prominent in this set is the use of new transparent tube elements used for the water slide. There’s a lot of potential for this new piece especially considering that it is large enough to have a minifigure or even a minidoll fit inside of it.

LEGO Friends Summer 2020
There’s a new elephant in town, and it looks awesome in this LEGO Friends Jungle Rescue Base (41424) building set.

The LEGO Friends Jungle Rescue Base (41424) also boasts of new molds and pieces, coming in at 648 pieces with an expected retail price of €79.99. Perhaps the obvious selling point of this set will be the new mother and child elephant figures that go along with it. Both of these figures seem to be made of a single, solid figure usually found in many LEGO Duplo sets. It’s a great addition, in my opinion, to mashup such Duplo-like figures with standard LEGO sets.

Both of these LEGO Friends Summer 2020 sets are expected to arrive in LEGO Stores and at LEGO Shop@Home starting in June. We’re still looking forward to more LEGO set reveals in the next few weeks, so stay tuned, stay home, and be safe! Thanks to Promobricks for more info.

More LEGO Disney Princess 2020 Sets Revealed

LEGO servers have been updated once again to include official images of additional LEGO Disney Princess 2020 sets that are slated to be available in January next year. If you recall from last month, the first wave of these sets was revealed by third-party retailers abroad, including some new sets that offer a new pop-up book design similar to what we’ve seen with LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book (21315).  This time around, these previously revealed sets are now listed at LEGO Shop@Home, with three, new additional sets whose official images are now unveiled for us to see.

As it seems, we will be getting four (4) new Storybook Adventure sets including one that is inspired by the Frozen 2 sequel. Mulan will also have another set dedicated to her, particularly one that shows her in a rehashed set that took inspiration from last year’s Mulan’s Training Day (41151). This is the second LEGO set that features a new minidoll version of the Disney heroine that also comes with new printings. If you’re a fan of Mulan, then this is will be a nice incentive to get this set in January.

Moana also gets another 2020 set which shows a more accurate rendition of her travel companion, Hei Hei the Rooster. I like this newer version of this spaced-out fowl as compared to how he is seen from 2017’s Moana’s Ocean Voyage (41150). His recent microfig version offers a larger eye print and a more movie-accurate color scheme.

I’ve updated this listing here to include the links to these LEGO Disney Princess 2020 sets to their respective LEGO Shop@Home pages whenever applicable. Check these out.

New LEGO Disney Princess Storybook Collection Revealed

New LEGO Disney sets were also revealed by third-party retailers that introduces a new collection of minidolls that are quite different from what LEGO has released before.  These notable ‘microdolls’ are included in LEGO’s new line of LEGO Disney Princess Storybook collection alongside other new sets that will arrive in January next year.  These new offerings include one 4+ set and five regular sets intended for kids 5 years and above.

Similar to the LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book (21315), these new LEGO Disney Princess Storybook sets features buildable scenes from some of the Disney classic films that can be neatly tucked in or folded like a typical book. And perhaps to make this play feature possible, LEGO opted to modify its current version of existing minidolls and give it a new twist. These ‘microdolls’ are obviously shorter in height and come with larger eye prints.

Read on and check out for more images of these new LEGO Disney Princess Storybook sets, together with other regular sets that will be released come January 1st. I’ve also included their expected retail price in Euros and will update this post once more info comes in.

LEGO Disney Frozen 2 Olaf’s Traveling Sleigh (40361) Gift-With-Purchase Set Revealed

As you may have known already, the LEGO Disney Frozen 2 sets are currently available at LEGO Shop@Home alongside the release of the new LEGO Star Wars merchandise for Triple Force Friday.  If you’re a LEGO Disney fan, then you’ll be glad to know that LEGO has thrown in a new gift-with-purchase (GWP) set for qualifying purchases of these new LEGO Disney sets. LEGO’s online store has added to its image cache the LEGO Disney Frozen 2 Olaf’s Traveling Sleigh (40361) which you can find below.

Olaf's Traveling Sleigh (40361)

For those familiar with this LEGO Disney subtheme, the first thing that is noticeable about this GWP set is the inclusion of the newer minidoll version of Olaf that only comes in two particular LEGO Disney Frozen 2 sets: Enchanted Tree House (41164) and Anna’s Canoe Expedition (41165). So if you’re a fan of the comical snowman, then having this freebie added to your cart is a great incentive to get this new LEGO Disney sets.

Olaf's Traveling Sleigh (40361) Olaf's Traveling Sleigh (40361) Olaf's Traveling Sleigh (40361) 40361 alt3

Olaf’s Traveling Sleigh (40361) comes in at 97 pieces and also includes a mini sleigh, a small buildable Christmas tree and gift, lamp, and a storage box to place Olaf’s skiing accessories.  I don’t see it yet on my shopping cart via LEGO Shop@Home, but since the set’s images have already been added to the online store’s database, then I guess it will just be a matter of time before you see this freebie listed. For now, you may want to delay your purchases a bit if you wish to get this free gift. Word on brick street has it that this free gift will be available from October 7 to 31 or until supplies last so I’ll keep a close eye on this one.

UPDATE: This promo is now currently live at LEGO Shop@Home, confirming our earlier announcement of its availability. You’ll get the Olaf’s Traveling Sleigh (40361) set for qualifying LEGO Disney Frozen purchases worth $50 and above starting today, October 7, until October 20 or when supplies last.

“LEGO Movie 2” Pods – Emmet (853874) and Sweet Mayhem (853875) Now Available Online at Shop@Home

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part” is now set to complete its first week in the box office, While its opening weekend saw a number 1 debut despite being markedly less than the premiere of the first film in 2014, LEGO and Warner Bros. are still positive thanks to good critic reviews.

In the meantime, a good number of new LEGO sets tying in to the animated blockbuster sequel have been available on retail and online. Among them are character pods for the film’s characters such as Emmet (853874) and Sweet Mayhem (853875), previewed only last month but are now available on LEGO Shop@Home.

853874 (6)

Both LEGO Movie 2 pods are expectedly similar to all products of this theme, containing a character minifigure (or mini-doll figure in case of Sweet Mayhem) plus plenty of accessories that can be held in the character’s hands, attached to their body, or assembled with the pods themselves to create a crane for 853874 and DJ station for 853875, respectively.

These pods also have on their front lids some lenticular images that alternate between showing the faces of Emmet or Mayhem, and the “LEGO Movie 2” logo. It’s plain to see that these LEGO Movie 2 Pods can easily cater to sectors of the general LEGO fan base, with minifigure Emmet geared towards “traditional” LEGO designs and mini-doll figure Sweet Mayhem for the LEGO Friends market due to similar aesthetics.

Both the Emmet (853874) and Mayhem (853875) “Lego Movie 2” character pods are priced at $8.99 on Shop@Home. Several other movie tie-ins are already either similarly available to these two, or will be so by late February or early March.

The LEGO Movie 2 Sweet Mayhem’s Pod (853875) Revealed

Hot on the heels of the LEGO Movie 2 Emmet’s Pod (853874), the same Promobricks reader who shared images of this newest collectible set, has also revealed that the LEGO Movie 2 theme will not have one, but two LEGO pods as well. Thanks again to Promobricks, we now have our first look at the LEGO Movie 2 Sweet Mayhem’s Pod (853875).

853875 1

853875 2

853875 3

Coming in at 28 pieces, the LEGO Movie 2 Sweet Mayhem’s Pod (853875) comes in a white-colored pod with, of course, Sweet Mayhem herself. The pod also sports a lenticular front panel showing the LEGO Movie 2 title and an image of Sweet Mayhem with her helmet on. I’m curious though on why LEGO did not opt to include Mayhem’s helmet in this particular pod, choosing instead to include her pony-tailed hair accessory.

853875 4

853875 5

853875 6

The special parts included in the pod itself are quite interesting: from the heart-shaped plate to several clips and hinges. I’m not really sure what the pod is trying to replicate with these very limited parts – it may be like a mini-cockpit of some sorts, but I’ll leave this to your imagination on trying to figure this one out.

853875 7

Similar to the Emmet’s Pod, the LEGO Movie 2 Sweet Mayhem’s Pod (853875) was accidentally released earlier than expected, with several displayed sets immediately returned to the storeroom until their official release date sometime in February. Unlike Emmet’s minifigure which you can practically get from almost all LEGO sets, the Sweet Mayhem’s Pod (853875) offers a good opportunity to get this particular minidoll version without breaking the bank. An alternate version of Sweet Mayhem, where she particularly wears a helmet, can be found in the following sets: Introducing Queen Watevra Wa’Nabi (70824); Sweet Mayhem’s Systar Starship! (70830); and MetalBeard’s Heavy Metal Motor Trike! (70834).

Once again, a big thanks to Promobricks for sharing these images.
