Promotional Item (Decorative Keychain) Also Coming for LEGO Creator Ford Mustang (10265) this March 1-10

Anybody claiming that the newly-revealed LEGO Creator Ford Mustang set (10265) sucks is either lying through his teeth, making an ill joke, or is a troll. Just looking at the official images would fire up any LEGO and automotive fan, and proves the Creator line is just as great as LEGO Technic in rendering detailed car models using LEGO pieces.

LEGO is also pretty sure that the Creator Mustang (10265) will be lapped up by collectors come March 1. So they’ve decided to spice up the fans’ anticipation frenzy with a new tie-in promotion. Like so many others, this is a “gift with purchase” thing.

The first LEGO market to make this promotional item known is the LEGO branded store in Shanghai, China. As can be seen in their promo image above, the special item is appropriately a keychain. The ornamentations are a spinner-disk fob with the Ford Mustang Logo on one side and the LEGO logo on the other.

A smaller rectangular fob is also included, it being a small metallic depiction of the LEGO VIP program membership card, with the reverse side showing where the keychain was manufactured (Zhongshan, China) plus date (December 2018). The key ring itself is a basic “circle cotter.”

While the promo item was first shown in China, it’ll be available in all markets, both LEGO stores and Shop@Home, starting March 1 to 10. All one needs to do is buy the LEGO Creator Ford Mustang (10265); that’s all. Keychain supplies will certainly sell out fast, so avid collectors will have to come early.

New LEGO City Promo on Shop@Home This Week: Choose Between 2 Polybags

Back in December last year, when LEGO began showing its latest additions to the City line for 2019 (early), we featured one polybag. It was a model for an ATV with fireman minifigure, one that fits right in with the fire-fighting theme of part of the new LEGO City sets.

While we initially surmised that the LEGO City Fire ATV (30361) was going to be conventionally available on its own, there was also the possibility that LEGO would use the polybag as part of a promo for the City lineup. The latter scenario came true with a new Shop@Home promotion.

In fact, there are two LEGO City polybags that are involved in this “free with purchase” promo for Shop@Home. The second polybag is the Road Worker (30357) which goes well with construction-themed City sets. It features the titular Road Worker minifig with radio and stoplight accessories, plus a buggy equipped with a multi-lighted roadwork sign.

As if it weren’t already obvious enough, this promotion entails getting one of these two LEGO City polybags free with a minimum LEGO purchase of $35. The purchase/s must be in City sets and done online in Shop@Home. Buyers need only enter a checkout code corresponding to their desired polybag.

For online checkout, the code for Road Worker (30357) is “CRW1” while the Fire ATV (30361) is “ATV1” (omit the quotes). This LEGO City promotion ends Thursday, February 28 (midnight).

Last 2018 Bricktober LEGO Minifigure Set (5005256) to Finally Hit US LEGO Stores and Shop@Home Next Month

Sometimes, even we who report on the latest LEGO-related news might be too hasty to make definitive statements on any development. Last year we ran several articles on the convoluted release of the 2018 LEGO Bricktober collectible minifigure sets in the US, as they were Toys R Us exclusives and needed to be carried by other retailers in that country.

One by one three of the 4-minifigure Bricktober sets – 5005254, 5005255 and 5005257 – had their chance to appear in either LEGO Stores or retail partners. The fourth, LEGO Marvel (5005256) was never announced for anything and was only ever available on TRU Canada, apparently as an exclusive. By December we had written off 5005256 ever being found normally in America.

That only shows what we know; when it comes to LEGO we should never count them out. According to our fellow LEGO news source and online set guide Brickset, the last piece of the 2018 Bricktober collectible minifigure puzzle is finally hitting the US, soon.

Apparently we have the MCU (obviously) to thank for LEGO Marvel Bricktober (5005256) getting its time in the stateside spotlight. Did you forget? “Captain Marvel” is premiering March 8, and “Avengers: Endgame” follows shortly on April 26. There’s still one, more but it’s these, particularly the second that matters here. There’s nothing like some nice synergy to bring the “prodigal” minifig set home at last.

Long story short, LEGO Stores and Shop@Home US will carry the 2018 Bricktober Marvel minifigure set (5005256) from March 1 to 7. It’ll be added free on any minimum LEGO purchase of $75; even better, it doesn’t have to be all LEGO Marvel products. Now borderline-impatient collectors can get their hands on War Machine, Wong, Tony Stark and Winter Soldier (three Thanos survivors and one victim) to complete the set.

LEGO Movie 2 Building Events To Be Held At Select Target Stores

It looks like the LEGO Movie 2 hype lingers on even after the film’s debut in theaters this Friday. Select Target stores will be having their LEGO Movie 2 building events next week, February 16 from 11AM to 2PM CST. This Target in-store event is intended for kids where they will build a ship using LEGO pieces, participate in some in-store games, and as a reward for participating they get to bring home an exclusive vest similar to that of Emmet.

target emmet mission

There’s no mention of what kind of ship will the children actually build, so it’s kind of interesting to see how it will look like. I’m not really sure if you need to pre-register for this, so if anyone has additional information regarding this, please do share in the comments below.

But before attending this event, be sure to catch the LEGO Movie 2 in cinemas on February 8, Friday and to check out the rest of the LEGO Movie 2 sets either in Target or at LEGO Shop@Home. Lastly for LEGO BrickHeadz fans out there, Walmart is exclusively offering the LEGO Movie 2 BrickHeadz Emmet (41634) and WyldStyle (41635) sets, and are now available for pre-order at their online store.

Reminder: Free LEGO Duplo Farm (30326) Promotional Polybag in US LEGO Stores

In case you missed it, this year marks the 50th anniversary of LEGO Duplo – those oversized large bricks designed specifically for younger, smaller hands. And to celebrate 50 creative years of nurturing future builders, LEGO offers a new promotional to accompany those big, building blocks that you plan to purchase for your tiny tot. The LEGO Duplo Farm (30326) polybag is yours free, for every single receipt purchase of LEGO Duplo sets worth $20 and above. This latest LEGO Duplo promotional began last January 29 and will end this Thursday February 7, so you still have a couple of days to avail of this promo.

This promotion is currently available in all US LEGO brand stores and at the US portal of shop.LEGO.com until this Thursday only. LEGO Stores in the UK and the rest of Europe all offers a similar promotional with the LEGO Duplo Numbers (40304) polybag.

Exclusive and Signed LEGO Movie 2 Minifigures Given Away At Select LEGO Stores

This next LEGO Movie 2 promotional seems to be so low-key that I never recall any mention of it among LEGO’s usual information channels. But considering how sparse they are, then it’s understandable why LEGO would like to keep it this way. Some LEGO fans and VIP members have taken to Twitter to share their find of what could be one of the rarest LEGO minifigure recently released. As it seems, several exclusive and signed LEGO Movie 2 minifigures were given away at selected LEGO Stores in celebration of the upcoming release of the film sequel.

LEGO VIP member Andrew tweeted yesterday that the LEGO Store in Garden State Plaza in Paramus, New Jersey gave away a signed a Wasteland Batman minifigure from the LEGO Movie 2. This rare and exclusive minifigure features LEGO Batman as he is seen in the Battle-Ready Batman and MetalBeard (70836) and Welcome to Apocalypseburg (70840) sets, and it comes with a one-of-a-kind signed minifigure baseplate.

According to the very fortunate LEGO fan, the exclusive minifigure was given away to the first customer of the day who bought a LEGO Movie 2 product (in his case three blind bags of the LEGO Movie 2 collectible minifigures) on February 2. Furthermore, it seems that a handful of these promotional and signed LEGO Movie 2 minifigures were also given away in other LEGO Stores in the country. Another Twitter user also posted another similar find when she bought several LEGO Movie 2 CMF blind bags at the LEGO Store in Chandler Fashion Center in Chandler, Arizona. What she received was an exclusively signed Tiffany Haddish minifigure, with the actress playing the role of Queen Watevra Wa’Nabi in the film. It’s nice if we can have a closer look at Haddish’s minifigure counterpart, considering that we don’t have any similar minifigure released together with the currently offered LEGO Movie 2 sets.

It’s interesting to see which other LEGO Movie 2 characters also received the same exclusive treatment. Will we see Emmet or Rex (both played by Chris Pratt), WyldStyle (Elizabeth Banks), Sweet Mayhem (Stephanie Beatriz) and other signed minifigures as well?

Let us know if you ever spot them in your local LEGO Stores.

The LEGO Year of the Pig (40186) Promotional Set Now Available

2019 is hailed as the Year of the Earth Pig in the Chinese calendar, and LEGO is now commemorating this in its newest promotional set, now live across LEGO brand stores and at shop.LEGO.com. The LEGO Year of the Pig (40186) set is the next promotional item that you can get for a minimum single receipt purchase of $88 and more of any LEGO set or products. This promo has already begun yesterday and will end on February 7 next week or until supplies last, so it’s promo duration is kind of relatively short-lived.

40186 1

The LEGO Year of the Pig (40186) comes in 152 pieces and is valued for approximately $9.99. Like previous Chinese New Year LEGO promotional, the LEGO Year of the Pig set features a comical, brick-built figure of a pig that comes with poseable ears, arms, and tail. The set also sports a unique 2×2 round, flat tile that represents a snout, which is a new for 2019 piece exclusive to this set. I also like the use of the 2×2 round, flat tiles for the pair of eyes which you can adjust for any kind of wacky expressions. The articulation on the arms adds a sense of humor and character to this build, though I’m not quite sure if the legs are jointed as well based on these images.

If you want to add this to your collection of LEGO Chinese New Year sets, then be sure to set your LEGO purchases throughout this week. LEGO has also released a collection of regional exclusive LEGO sets such as the Chinese New Year’s Eve Dinner (80101) and Dragon Dance (80102).

Happy building and a prosperous New Year to everyone!

Here’s A Closer Look at the LEGO Movie 2 McDonalds Happy Meal Toys

Last week, I reported that the next wave of Happy Meal toys will feature several characters from the LEGO Movie 2. We had an initial look at these oversized minifigure heads/storage space/key holders, thanks to a promotional ad that was initially released in Russia. Now thanks to some insider info from Fast Food Toys and Happy Meal Toys for Kids, we now have a closer look at these LEGO Movie 2 McDonalds Happy Meal toys and their expected date of arrival in US stores. Check out the video below, courtesy of Fast Food Toys.

As you can see from the video, each LEGO Movie 2 McDonalds Happy Meal toy comes with a simple play feature inside. Though we only get to see a sample based on how the Wonder Woman toy looks like from the inside, other promotional flyers suggest that each toy may actually contain a different activity or mini-game. Each toy also comes with a free LEGOLAND coupon where kids go for free together with a paying adult to all LEGOLAND Resorts and LEGOLAND Discovery Centers.

Furthermore, these toys are now currently available across Taiwan and other regions and will arrive in the US on January 29. So what do you think about these new LEGO Movie 2 McDonalds Happy Meal toys? Do you think it’s worth a trip to McDonalds? Let me know what you think in the comments below. Special thanks also to Candid Bricks for the heads up.

Here’s How To Get The LEGO Movie 2 Star-Stuck Emmet (30620) Polybag

The LEGO Movie 2 has its share of polybags to go around, with some of them already spotted at Walmart and Target stores. However, there are still some of these polybags that remains to be seen out there, particularly the LEGO Movie 2 Star-Stuck Emmet (30620) polybag. Just to be clear, the Star-Stuck Emmet (30620) polybag is a promotional item included with the upcoming LEGO Movie 2 video game set to be released on February 26 in the US, and March 1 in the UK.

From the looks of it, this is the only way to have the Star-Stuck Emmet (30620) polybag especially if you intend to purchase the LEGO Movie 2 video game. You can also opt to check with eBay, but bear in mind that even as of this posting, this particular polybag is nowhere to be found in the third-party seller platform.

Star-Stuck Emmet (30620) Polybag

If you’re into LEGO video games, then pre-ordering the LEGO Movie 2 video game is a no-brainer. As of now, EB Games in Australia and Amazon UK are offering this upcoming video game title for pre-order on their respective website, with an option of selecting the title’s Limited Edition Minifigure Edition. Though Amazon US also has a similar pre-order listing, it should be noted that the website has no specific mention of the Star-Stuck Emmet (30620) polybag as a free promotional bundled together with the video game title.

Here’s a quick rundown of the LEGO Movie 2 Video Game, including its free promotional. The LEGO Movie 2 video game is available across major video game platforms including Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
