LEGO Seasonal Penguin (40498) Coming Soon Just in Time for the Holidays

Just recently, LEGO has revealed a wave of seasonal sets that we can expect this August. And on top of that, just in time for the holidays, we will also have the LEGO Seasonal Penguin (40498).

40498 1

To be precise, this set is not yet listed at LEGO Shop@Home as of this writing. But the arrival of the LEGO Seasonal Penguin is confirmed by this year’s LEGO Seasonal Halloween Owl (40497) box art. As far as I recall, this is the first time that LEGO has offered a seasonal set following this usual holiday symbol. The penguin was usually a staple of LEGO’s Monthly Mini Builds, and it’s great to see that a seasonal set has been designed that is focused entirely on this cute, arctic creature. The LEGO Seasonal Penguin (40498) also seems to incorporate the same display stand as its seasonal predecessors, and most likely stands between 11-12 cm like that of the Halloween Owl.

We do not have further details as of today with regards to its piece count and availability, but the retail price is definitely expected to be $15 as well. This may likewise be the last seasonal set to be offered for this year following this theme and design.

If you’re a LEGO completionist and are looking forward to adding this set to your brick-built seasonal collection, then be sure to check with LEGO Shop@Home. Or you can also bookmark our blog site to receive future updates with regards to this set.

Add Some Spooky Fun With the LEGO Spider & Haunted House Pack (40493)

Alongside this year’s LEGO Seasonal Halloween Owl (40497) set, LEGO also introduces another spooky fun way to celebrate this year’s Halloween. The LEGO Spider & Haunted House Pack (40493) is a great way to add some fun to your Halloween decors, giving it that magical LEGO touch.

This pair of ornaments come in at 132 pieces and will retail for $10 when the set becomes available in August. It follows the same home decor concept as that from last year’s LEGO Seasonal Pumpkin & Bat Duo (854049). I practically love how the spider turned out, and I have to say that it is more on the cuter side of the spectrum rather than being horrific. The mini haunted house is also a great addition especially given its use of masonry bricks and teal-colored elements.

Similarly, you may add this to your LEGO wishlist if you want to be reminded of this set once it becomes available next month. Just click on the following affiliate link below.

The LEGO Seasonal Halloween Owl (40497) stands at around 11 cm tall, on top of a display stand and flanked by brick-built pumpkins and several flower elements. This Year’s LEGO City Advent Calendar (60303) Has Been Revealed

Following the reveal of this year’s new advent calendars coming from the LEGO Marvel and LEGO Friends themes, the now available Japanese online LEGO Catalog also gives us our first look at the LEGO City Advent Calendar (60303).

LEGO City Advent Calendar

A usual staple of LEGO Advent Calendars, this year’s LEGO City offering includes the familiar minifigure characters from LEGO City Adventures such as Big Betty, Shirley Keeper, Officer Sam Grizzled, Fire Fighter Bob, Top Hat Tom, and Fendrich. It also comes with mini builds that add some fun holiday activities – it has a mini copter, monster truck, train, snow-covered tree, lamp post, and many more.

This year’s LEGO City Advent Calendar (60303) is expected to arrive on September 1st and will retail for around $30 similar to last year’s offering. I will update this post once it makes its appearance over at LEGO Shop@Home.

Here’s a First Look at the LEGO Friends Advent Calendar (41690)

If you recall several weeks ago, LEGO servers somewhat accidentally uploaded an early digital copy of the Japanese LEGO Catalog for the 2nd half of 2021. By doing so, it gave us an early look at some of the sets (from LEGO Star Wars, City Stuntz, and Technic themes for example) that are slated to arrive this summer. Needless to say, the catalog was removed right away perhaps as part of TLG’s damage control with regards to accidental reveals. But now that most of the sets in that product listing are now up at LEGO Shop@Home, then the said digital catalog in question is once again uploaded. And this time around, giving us our first look at this year’s LEGO Friends Advent Calendar (41690).

41690 lego friends advent calendar

Right off the bat, we can notice that this set features a good number of micro-dolls, similar to what LEGO offered in last year’s LEGO Friends Advent Calendar (41420) with the inclusion of two elves. For this year’s holiday offering, LEGO opted to render our Friends characters in similar micro-doll form.

41690 02 lego friends advent calendar

And of course, aside from these new micro-dolls, this year’s LEGO Friends Advent Calendar will feature the usual staple of miniature, buildable holiday ornaments such as a fireplace, a doghouse, tree stockings, mailbox, lampost, and much more. It is scheduled to be available to the public starting September 9 just in time for the holidays and alongside the now listed LEGO Harry Potter Advent Calendar (76390).

ICYMI: LEGO Harry Potter Advent Calendar (76390)

In case you missed it, LEGO Shop@Home has now listed this year’s LEGO Harry Potter Advent Calendar (76390), with a release date slated for September 1, 2021. This set also features six minifigures and plenty of magical micro-builds to celebrate the holidays.

It is also nice to see that LEGO is now introducing additional licensed themes in its advent calendar series. You may want to check the recently revealed LEGO Marvel Advent Calendar (76196) and this year’s LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar (75307) if you wish to add more brick-building fun during your family’s holiday festivities.

First Look at the LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar (75307)

After having a glimpse of the LEGO Marvel Advent Calendar (76196), we can now also confirm what to expect from this year’s LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar, courtesy of an inadvertently released online Japanese LEGO catalog. Similar to the LEGO Star Wars summer 2021 sets, the LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar (75307) follows a Star Wars: The Mandalorian theme, given that unique LEGO holiday humor.

75307

We can expect Grogu and Din Jarin to be included in this set in their holiday festive costumes. We also see a Storm Trooper, a Scout Trooper, and a Tusken Raider joining the fun as well. For the micro builds, it’s nice to see that Grogu’s floating baby basket is included as well, together with a couple of starships such as the usual TIE Fighter and Moff Gideon’s Light Cruiser. And since this set is specifically made to give some light-hearted LEGO humor during the holiday season, even the usual brick-built weapons in this set were modified for some winter fun.

We can expect this set to be released in September, and I’ll keep you posted once this set makes its debut at LEGO Shop@Home.

LEGO Marvel Advent Calendar 2021 (76196) Confirmed!

Here’s another first. The now-deleted Japanese online LEGO catalog has shown that we can expect the arrival of the LEGO Marvel Advent Calendar 2021 (76196) just in time for the holidays. It seems that the said catalog was released a bit too early, but not without the LEGO fan community taking notice right away.

76196

The LEGO Advent Calendar series usually feature themes from LEGO City, Friends, Harry Potter, and Star Wars. The inclusion of another licensed theme for this holiday surprise set is a welcomed development. And looking at its respective catalog page suggests that we can expect holiday minifigure versions of Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Thor. We can also expect Black Widow and Thanos to join the festivities, plus micro build versions of the Avengers’ Quinjet, Tony Stark’s robot lab assistant Dum-E, and a cute Iron Snowman. I assume that this is just a sampling of the brick surprises included in the LEGO Marvel Advent Calendar 2021, and we just have to wait and see for its official listing over at LEGO Shop@Home.
