Gameplay Trophies for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 on Sony PS4 Revealed.

There’s only a week left now before LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 from Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment and Traveller’s Tales makes its highly-anticipated grand entrance across the “Big Four” game consoles and platforms. Once again, there will be plenty of excitement and funny shenanigans as minifigure versions of the most popular heroes and villains of Marvel Comics embark on a brand-new action-adventure.

 LMSH2

Now, owing to the format of past LEGO Marvel games, there are bound to be oodles of gameplay trophies to be earned in LMSH2 for online bragging rights and stuff. Thanks to some diligent work, achievements for the PS4 version of the game have been discovered and shared.

PSN Profiles has done marvelous work in tracking down ad documenting all trophies that can be earned in the Sony PlayStation 4 version of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2. Thus far, the PS4 take has about 46 trophies in total, ranked in four classes from Bronze to Platinum.

Some trophies are rather quickly earned through normal gameplay while others might require some hunting and collecting. Compared to the first LMSH, the requirements don’t seem to be altogether intimidating, which is either a big bonus or a letdown, depending on player.

Here’s a quick rundown of the achievements: there are 37 Bronze trophies, 4 in silver, 4 gold ones, and one colored in platinum. If you haven’t guess, the platinum trophy is the “collect all the others” achievement, and PSN Profiles considers it “Ultra Rare.” Here’s some of the trophies to watch out for once you have your hands on the game. For the rest of the trophies, be sure to visit PSN Profiles’ web page. Be warned though – these trophies may pose a potential spoiler for the game so click with care.

As for the plot, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 takes place 4 years after its predecessor, and the heroes and villains of the LEGO Marvel Universe find themselves taking sides in the time-space-shattering plans of Kang the Conqueror. It also references the recently-premiered Thor: Ragnarok. The game comes out on November 14 for Windows PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Here again is the PS4 Trophy List, not listed here to avoid spoilers.

LEGO MOC Spotlight: World of Warcraft’s Theramore by Mark Erickson.

It’s sure to be awe-inspiring whenever a LEGO builder shows off his custom build of a structure that reaches monumental proportions. It could be that of a real historical edifice like the Duomo of Florence. Or it could be a scale version of something symbolic, like a wind turbine built by The LEGO Company itself to celebrate its renewable energy policy’s early completion.

Then there are those set builds that exist only in fiction, from licensed properties like the World of Warcraft MMORPG from Blizzard Entertainment. Builder Mark Erickson for instance, replicated a key location from the game, Theramore Castle.

24248492068 421340c7f7 z

Erickson, known as Mark of Falworth on Flickr, shared his brick-built replica of the island citadel of Theramore, home of a faction of Human Alliance refugees from Lordaeron.

As World of Warcraft lore tells it, Theramore was initially established as a sanctuary and trading port which eventually expanded into a military fortress – no thanks to the  war between the Alliance and the Orcish Horde Theramore would later be destroyed by the Blood Elves of the Horde.

38047730406 15cf925dc2 z

Mark has a keen eye for detail, and has managed to capture each key building in Theramore with uncanny accuracy. He ended up using 55,000 LEGO bricks set upon a mat area measuring 80 x 80 inches. This places his Theramore model in between Giancinto Consiglio’s scale Duomo (20,000 bricks) and LEGO’s own wind turbine (146,000 bricks, a Guinness World Record too).

For the curious, the building-block franchise license for Blizzard’s World of Warcraft has been held by Mega Bloks, so a custom build is the best alternative with LEGO. Congratulations to Mark for this superb MOC.

LEGO Rebrick Winter Wonderland Worlds Contest Now Open.

LEGO doesn’t look like it could be running out of promotional ideas anytime soon. And the next big event on their schedule is just right for the holidays. “Winter is coming”, as a popular TV series says, so LEGO Rebrick is holding a building contest to get everybody in the spirit of the season.

The LEGO Rebrick Winter Wonderland Worlds contest takes it cue from the sandbox videogame LEGO Worlds from Warner Brothers Interactive and Traveller’s Tales, which was released just this September on multiple consoles. Aspiring skilled builders with big imaginations are being invited to wow LEGO with their creativity.

Lego Worlds main image

The objective of Winter Wonderland Worlds is simple: contestants need to design the best winter wonderland scene they could out of LEGO shapes and minifigures. They have multiple options on how the diorama or vignette can be set up. The primary tool is the LEGO Worlds game title, with players constructing a winter landscape populated by wonders and minifigure people.

Alternatively, builders can try to realize their vision with actual LEGO bricks and minifigures, or using computer software like LEGO Digital Designer. Once contestants have finished their design, they can submit five snapshots of their creation, along with a description of the scene and their personal details to the Rebrick section on the LEGO website.

The grand winner of the Winter Wonderland Worlds contest will receive a Sony PlayStation 4, a PS4 copy of LEGO Worlds, along with the Classic Space and Monsters DLC Packs, and two LEGO sets from LEGO Ninjago Movie theme: Green Ninja Mech Dragon (70612) and Fire Mech (70615). They might also see their diorama being adapted in one LEGO Worlds’ future DLC updates. How’s that for bragging rights?

Eleven runners-up will receive only the PS4 “LEGO Worlds” game with expansion and the Ninjago kits. The deadline for entries is on November 28, so better hurry and start building!

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 Hypes Thor: Ragnarok Tie-In Content in Latest Video Game Trailer.

Marvel fans all over are falling all over themselves getting ready to catch the latest part of the MCU with the impending release of Thor: Ragnarok. A major film release like that is bound to have tons of tie-in merchandise related to it.

LMSHThor

Other than the two previously released LEGO Marvel Super Heroes sets dedicated to the film – The Ultimate Battle for Asgard (76084) and Thor VS Hulk: Arena Clash (76088) – LEGO is now in the final preparations for the release of the highly anticipated video game sequel, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2. Scheduled to be released across all major gaming consoles and PC starting November 14, the sequel also gives a nod to the Norse god of thunder in its latest video game trailer.  What better way to hype the title and show that it also have elements of the latest MCU movie!

LMSHThor 05

The trailers for Thor: Ragnarok have done a serviceable job of getting the gist of the film across. The prophesied downfall of Asgard is getting closer with the threat of the Fire Giant Surtur, and it is being accelerated by the Goddess of Death Hela making her own play for the throne of Odin.

LMSHThor 02

The king of Asgard is actually somewhere on Earth while his adopted son Loki rules in his name and image. And after he gets lost somewhere in the galaxy trying to stop Hela, Thor must now escape the clutches of the game-obsessed Grandmaster and return home.

LMSHThor 03

All this, and much more, can now be seen in the latest video game trailer released by WB Games. As it is intended to be, this latest trailer features a mashup of all the familiar characters, both in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and their comic book counterparts. It also highlights the many versions of Thor only seen in the comics.  Among them are Frog-Thor, the alien Beta Ray Bill and the present comics female Thor (actually Jane Foster). Check out the trailer below.

The Ragnarok action sequences are played up in the trailer with its trademark blend of exciting Marvel action, and LEGO’s brand of humor. Just imagine Heimdall leaving a mark on Broadway.

LMSHThor 04

Thor: Ragnarok comes out in cinemas stateside this Friday, November 3. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 with all of its cool stuff from Ragnarok, will be released on November 14 across major gaming platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Steam (PC) and the Nintendo Switch. Add Some Spooky, LEGO Worlds Fun This Halloween With the LEGO Worlds Monsters Pack DLC.

I haven’t written much about LEGO Worlds lately, probably because I’m not really a big fan of the game. However, when TT Games and Warner Bros. Interactive previously announced the game’s expansion, which includes a paid Classic Space DLC, I felt that the folks behind the development of LEGO Worlds are onto something. Now this feeling has been confirmed when, a few days ago, TT Games have announced yet another DLC pack just in time for Halloween. The LEGO Worlds Monsters Pack is now available as a paid download across various gaming consoles and platforms. I couldn’t help but think that TT Games and Warner Bros. Interactive has their sights on adding plenty of elements coming from some of LEGO’s highly popular retired themes.

Whether it is from the Classic Space theme, or that from the Monster Fighters, seeing your favorite sets from the yesteryears come to life inside LEGO Worlds is really exciting.

LEGO Worlds Monster DLC

Check out the LEGO Worlds Monsters Pack official trailer below, followed by its full press release as announced last Thursday.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games and The LEGO Group announced that Monsters, a new downloadable themed content pack for LEGO Worlds, is available today for $3.99. The Monsters Pack adds Monster Town, a peculiar place full of scary quests, terrifying creatures, haunted houses and ghastly vehicles, where Halloween is celebrated every day! But delinquent zombies are taking their trick-or-treating a bit too seriously. Players must use their LEGO brick building skills to repair the damage and scare away the zombies with tricks of their own.

Players that purchase a physical version LEGO Worlds for Nintendo Switch, priced at $39.99, will also get the Monsters Pack, plus the Classic Space Pack which was released in July. The digital version, priced at $29.99, includes the base game with the DLC available separately on the eShop. Both premium DLC packs will be available on all other platforms.

Also available is a free game update which adds a host of exciting new features to make building and exploring easier and more fun. Aspiring directors can now create their own thrilling action sequences with the Camera Car, a vehicle that can be utilized by either one or two players. It is everything a player would need to set up epic action sequences or possibly re-create favorite movie scenes.

The game update adds new tools such as The Planner designed to build LEGO structures faster. Players can use the various materials and pre-built wall types to get their new buildings underway with ease. Existing tools have also received significant upgrades to maximize players enjoyment within the game. The Discovery Menu has revised search functionality making it easier for players to find what they are looking for, while new shapes in the Landscape Tool improve how players edit their Worlds. There are also major updates to the Copy Tool, Galaxy Map, Waypoints and other features enhancing the overall LEGO Worlds experience.

LEGO Worlds, a galaxy of imaginative worlds made of digital LEGO bricks where players can explore, discover and create together, is currently available for PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, STEAM, and Nintendo Switch.

Warner Bros. Interactive Announces That LEGO Dimensions Is Canceled

Earlier this year, we ran an article discussing the facts surrounding the rumored cancellation of LEGO Dimensions. However, it seems that these rumors are now set in stone and that the curtain has finally drawn to a close to another awesome LEGO theme. It is with a sad note that we need to share with everyone that LEGO Dimensions is canceled.

If you recall back in 2015, LEGO tried its hand at the toys-to-life video game genre, alongside Disney Infinity and Skylanders, capitalizing on its minifigures depicting various licensed characters from Warner Bros. and other well known IPs. In partnership with game developer Traveller’s Tales, LEGO Dimensions brought to life a total of 64 sets and an impressive line of collectible minifigures, some of which you can never find in any existing LEGO sets. Some of these are the more recent ones including the Teen Titans GO! Team Pack (71255), the Goonies Level Pack (71267), and the Beetlejuice Fun Pack (71349) just to name a few.

While LEGO promised a line of regular set releases for three years, Warner Bros. just announced this week that they will be wrapping things up a year sooner. So it was Monday, October 23, that the sad news broke out via LEGO Dimensions’ official Twitter page.

Sadly as it turns out, the recent batch of LEGO Dimensions sets that were released last September 12 will be the very last for the video game franchise, thus formally ending the golden age of toys-to-life gaming.

Though we can expect that LEGO will no longer release additional Dimensions sets after Wave 9, they assured fans that they haven’t completely pulled out the plug on LD. The game’s servers will continue to run and provide the necessary game updates and support for still active gamers.

This development may be disappointing to fans of the video game, but understandable given that LEGO Dimensions is the last bastion of the now dying toys-to-life segment (perhaps except for Nintendo’s line of Amiibo figures), and was unwittingly competing with consumers for other LEGO branded Traveller’s Tales and WB Interactive game titles. It also means that planned expansions for Year 3, such as for The Flash and Minecraft, will remain unrealized.

Meanwhile, as LEGO Dimensions’ game servers remain active, its Starter and Expansion Packs will continue to be sold, and might even be discounted when the Holidays come, perhaps except for those highly collectible sets.

So what do you think about this piece of news from LEGO Dimensions? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 Full Gaming Experience Will Come Unaltered in Nintendo Switch.

Good news for all Nintendo Switch owners! If you’re looking forward to having a copy of the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 for the Nintendo Switch, then you’ll be pleased to know that you’ll get the whole nine yards in the Switch, as much as in any other consoles. This is the promise given by Arthur Parsons, TT Games’ Head of Design during one of his interviews at last week’s New York Comic Con.

LMSH2 all

Speaking about the game’s availability via the Nintendo Switch platform, Parsons gave the assurance that the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 gaming experience and content will all be the same regardless of gaming platform or console. Most, if not all, of LEGO’s previous video games are known for being noticeably reduced in content for Nintendo releases – whether it be less characters, the absence of DLCs, or a shorter story mode. However, this time around, Parson emphasized that the Switch’s version will never miss a heartbeat in delivering the game’s vast open world and massive collection of playable Marvel characters. In fact, the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 co-op experience will be quite unique in the Nintendo Switch due to its split screen Joy-Con play. Here’s Fansided with their interview with Parsons.

LMSH2 Switch box art

Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 is a game entirely for the fans. Parsons spoke a bit about what the game will look like on Switch. Previous Lego titles were often heavily altered before releasing on a Nintendo console. This manifested in different ways: possibly fewer characters, a lack of DLC, or even an abbreviated campaign mode. Luckily, none of those will be the case this time around. Parsons assured me when Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 releases on Switch, it will be the exact same game as what’s released on PS4 and Xbox One. Absolutely no changes will be made, and the season pass will be available in its entirety.  The game will also feature split Joy-Con support throughout the game, including the arena and story modes.

LMSH2 promo

The game’s newest story trailer has been released already, with the promise of more exclusive content when you pre-order its Deluxe Edition. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 will be released on November 14 and will be available across major gaming platforms such as the Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 Story Trailer Reveals Cosmo’s Call to Arms.

Warner Bros Interactive has just released some interesting back story behind the highly anticipated LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2. The newest story trailer has just rolled out a few moments ago and in typical LEGO wackiness, shows how Knowhere’s canine Head of Security – Cosmo the Spacedog – telepathically rallied Marvel’s superheroes to unite against the schemes of the game’s time-traveling villain, Kang the Conqueror.

Cosmo

First shown to audiences at last week’s New York Comic Con, the trailer also highlights an interesting storyline that hints on how Kang may eventually defeated. It mentions several powerful crystals (much like to the idea behind the Infinity Stones) that can be found all over Chronopolis. The story trailer seems to suggest that in order to defeat Kang, players will go through several missions to gather the crystals and to use them against him to thwart his evil plans. Here’s the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 official story trailer with additional info on what to expect from the game once it becomes available on November 14.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today released a NEW trailer for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2, diving deeper into the original branching storyline featured in this all-new LEGO adventure. Recently debuted at New York Comic Con, the video stars lovable canine, Cosmo the Spacedog – telepathic Soviet cosmonaut, Knowhere’s chief of security and ally to the Guardians of the Galaxy – who is tasked with alerting and assembling an elite team of Super Heroes to take on the time-travelling Super Villain, Kang the Conqueror. Kang has stolen numerous Marvel cities and locations from across time and space to form the expansive Open Hub World of Chronopolis, in hopes to take over the universe. As a result, Cosmo’s call to action brings together a diverse group of Marvel Super Heroes from different time periods and realities – including Star-Lord, Thor, Spider-Man, Spider-Gwen, Hulk, She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, Rocket Raccoon, Iron Man, Cowboy Captain America, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Groot and many more – who must all band together to foil Kang’s diabolical plans.

LMSH2 box art

If you’re excited as much as we are in trying this game, then you may want to pre-order its Deluxe Edition which gives you access to the game’s Season Pass, loaded with additional content and characters lifted from upcoming MCU films and series such as the Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and many more.

LMSH2 promo

Other than the Classic GOTG Character Packs, pre-ordering the Deluxe edition of the game also entitles you to additional content coming from some of Marvel’s comic book series such as Agents of Atlas, Out of Time, and Champions boosting its roster of playable characters to as many as 260+ characters. It will also include several exclusives such as a comic art poster and a free Giant Man minifigure. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 is slated to hit stores on November 14, 2017.

More LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 Characters Plus Season Pass Revealed!

TT Games and Warner Bros. Interactive took to the NYCC stage their latest reveal of Marvel characters getting the LEGO treatment in the much awaited video game sequel, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2. Not missing on this annual comic book fan convention, TT Games’ Arthur Parsons and Marvel’s Bill Rosemann took the opportunity of announcing a ton of new Marvel characters that will make their debut as playable, LEGO minifigures in the highly anticipated video game. The New York Comic Con panel presentation also placed the spotlight on what LEGO Marvel fans can expect from the game’s Season Pass.

It is interesting to note that the game’s Season Pass pays homage to new and upcoming MCU films and series through its six (6) Level Packs which include Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and soon to be released Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and upcoming series Cloak and Dagger and Runaways. The schedule of release for these DLCs is still yet to be announced and it’s interesting to see how this additional content will tie up with the Marvel Cinematic Universe storyline.

LMSH2 Season Pass

The Season Pass also offers four (4) Character Packs, including Agents of Atlas, Out of Time, Champions, and the Classic Guardians of the Galaxy, giving LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 a whooping 260+ Marvel comic book and MCU characters all at your disposal. The folks over at TT Games went the extra mile when they painstakingly included nice background info (such as their profiles and first comic book appearance) on each of these 260+ characters which players can access during the game.

Character Cards

Speaking of characters, Parsons and Rosemann also took the opportunity to tease a handful of new LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 characters that will make their way into the game once it’s released to the public on November 14. Check out the screen grabs below. Thanks to Collider for providing the live stream with these awesome people of TT Games and Marvel, and to Brick Fanz for polishing the screen grabs.
