It looks like LEGO is pushing forward with its plans of furthering wooing the AFOL community. This recent wave of third-party retailer reveals shows that there are a couple of LEGO 18+ sets on the horizon, and these sets look promising. From the short-lived LEGO Forma series to more recent LEGO mosaic offerings, now comes another series that is marketed to be one ultimate brick zen experience: the LEGO Creator Expert Botanical Collection is expected to arrive soon sometime in January next year. These bonsai and bouquet inspired sets are both reminiscent of the creative works of Chris McVeigh and AC Pinlac. I love how the bonsai turned out, with its customizable leaf elements that can either be built as a typical green tree, or a beautiful brick rendition of cherry blossoms. Similarly, the bouquet may be modified in several ways and looks gorgeous arranged in a flower vase.
These sets are not yet listed over at LEGO Shop@Home, but we can expect a launch date of January 2021 alongside recently revealed LEGO 18+ 2021 sets such as next year’s modular, the LEGO Creator Expert Police Station (10278), and LEGO Art sets. The LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 21 seems to be comprised of only 12 characters, which is quite unusual considering that it usually has 16 figures to boast. Nevertheless, the current selection is pretty cool and comes packed with unique, first-for-2021 pieces and elements. Though LEGO is yet to announce their official names, we can obviously put our finger down on their most outstanding features. LEGO servers have been updated once more to include its first line of LEGO Star Wars 2021 sets slated to arrive in January. Other than its wide-array of homegrown non-licensed sets (City, Creator, Friends, DOTS, etc), LEGO’s partnership with Disney is still going strong with its introduction of new-for-January 2021 sets. LEGO online retailer Van der Meulen has now published four LEGO Disney 2021 sets expected to arrive in the first half of 2021.
These sets are yet to appear on LEGO Shop@Home, but looking at these product images published by Van der Meulen, we can now have a pretty good grasp of what to expect from them.
First off, it’s quite obvious that the winner in this initial selection is the brick-version of the elemental spirit, Bruni from Frozen 2. This rendition of Bruni the Salamander is so cute like his on-screen counterpart, that I wouldn’t mind adding him to my AFOL’s collection.
LEGO also intends to continue its brick storybook adventures with Elsa’s Storybook Adventures (43189) inspired by the first Frozen film, and two upcoming LEGO Disney 2021 sets that are a nod to the more classic Disney films of The Little Mermaid, and Cinderella.
Though it wasn’t listed yet, it is interesting to note that there are rumors that LEGO will be releasing 3 or 4 sets dedicated to Walt Disney Pictures’ upcoming Raya and the Last Dragon. Though the latest animated movie is scheduled to be released in cinemas in April 2021, we might get to see some of these LEGO sets anytime soon.

We’re just a few days shy before we enter the last month of the year, and as is customary for LEGO, we are now in for a treat this Black Friday as we are about to witness the reveal of the upcoming 2021 LEGO Creator Expert Modular set that fans have been waiting for.
The teaser announcement came via LEGO’s social media channel, alongside other things to expect this Black Friday such as the LEGO Creator Expert Colosseum (10276) and other LEGO sets that were popular this 2020.
Word on the brick street says that this might be a modular police station that somehow resembles a museum at the same time. It somehow follows a building design with a classic Venetian vibe. It is also said to have around 3,000 pieces, featuring three or four levels, and also a helipad. It includes five minifigures, three of which are police officers. I’m not at liberty to show any images because of obvious embargo reasons, but if you don’t mind the spoilers, here’s a link to that image courtesy of eagle-eyed fans over at Eurobricks. This image was supposedly taken from a third-party retailer who is all too eager to share the details of this new 2021 LEGO Creator Expert Modular Set.
The anticipated 2021 LEGO Creator Expert Modular set is said to be a police station. We’ll just have to wait and see if it is the case.
If such is the case, then having a police station is a nice addition to your sprawling LEGO City/Modular creation. I also like the fact that the LEGO designers behind this set opted for a classic Venetian-like approach (Brickset guesses that it is Chris McVeigh who is behind this set) for this next modular offering. This sets it apart from other LEGO City Police buildings that show a modern architectural design befitting of the LEGO City theme.
This upcoming 2021 LEGO Creator Expert Modular Set is slated to be revealed as part of LEGO’s Black Friday Showcase which will stream on Facebook at 10 AM EST/3 PM GMT/4 PM CET. Be sure to keep tabs on LEGO’s social media pages, and here at our blog site for more updates.
We’re just literally counting the hours on this side of the globe before LEGO Shop@Home’s Black Friday deals go live. However, you might have to add a healthy amount of patience as you go through LEGO’s online shopping portal. Because as it turns out, it seems that LEGO has implemented a sort of queuing system to manage the high volume of site visits that the portal is currently having.
And this queuing system seems to be global – Brickset also shares the same observation over at LEGO’s UK portal, and even in Australia. In some parts of the US, even though Black Friday deals have not gone live yet, the same thing can be observed. In fact, as I am writing this, I am visitor #1409 out of 2,560 people waiting online to visit the portal. It’s a good 10 minutes wait before the site refreshes again and I’m allowed access.
As far as I can recall, this is the first time that I have experienced this kind of site visitor management system over at LEGO Shop@Home. I’m not really sure if I’ll be happy about it or what, but I guess this is an expected consequence of the pandemic considering that many of us are now forced to shop for our Black Friday deals at the safety of our homes. Yeah, it’s a bit troublesome to experience this kind of virtual queuing, but in the long run, the safety that it provides in this time of pandemic is something that is welcomed.
If given the opportunity, I’ll try to make another post to share some of the hottest LEGO Black Friday deals out there, and other freebies that may follow. So be sure to stay tuned.

Introduced during the first quarter of this year, the LEGO DOTS theme has proven to be popular with young children, with its customizable wearables and decorative sets, plus lots of tile pieces!
