LEGO Star Wars Nebulon-B Frigate (77904) Coming Soon to Amazon

After making its appearance via the LEGO Customer Service portal, it seems that the elusive LEGO Star Wars Nebulon-B Frigate (77904) will now be coming soon to Amazon as well. And though there was no mention of any particular release date whatsoever, the arrival of this set is now confirmed by Amazon considering how it is clearly advertised in the LEGO Star Wars section of Amazon’s LEGO Shop landing page.

LEGO Star Wars Nebulon-B

The LEGO Star Wars Nebulon-B Frigate (77904) is expected to be in high demand among LEGO fans considering that it was originally intended to be released as an SDCC 2020 exclusive. Coming in at 459 pieces, this brick version of the iconic rebel cruiser also bears the 40th-anniversary emblem of the Empire Strikes Back, celebrating the film’s first screening way back in 1980.

77904 boxart

As I’ve mentioned in my previous report, we still have no official word from LEGO on when the Nebulon-B Frigate will arrive in LEGO brand stores, but a cursory search over at eBay will tell us that some folks already have this in hand, with some posted images even suggesting that these sets may have been sourced from LEGO stores as well. It doesn’t come as a surprise though, since it is understandable that these stores may already have kept a very limited stock of these sets ahead of their soon-to-be-announced release date.

If you wish to give it a try in creating your own collectible  LEGO Star Wars Nebulon-B Frigate (77904), then you may want to take a look at its building instructions and see if you can create your own using the LEGO pieces that you have. There seems to be no particular part or piece that is exclusive to this set so you might want to take a look at your own LEGO collection and see if you have the required pieces. These pieces are also made up of mostly dark and medium stone gray colors, so it something that is also pretty common in most LEGO sets.

Again, considering that this set was meant to be a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive, better expect that this set will disappear quite quickly from store shelves and online. I’ll update this post once the Nebulon-B Frigate (77904) Amazon listing goes live, or you may also want to keep tabs with LEGO Shop@Home for more updates.

Thanks to Brickset for the heads up.

LEGO Harry Potter Book of Monsters (30628) Officially Revealed

It looks like we’ll be building the official brick version of this iconic Harry Potter creature (or thing, whichever you may want to call it) any time soon. This time around, LEGO has just revealed the LEGO Harry Potter Book of Monsters (30628), together with its official building instructions.

LEGO Harry Potter Book of Monsters

The reveal came via LEGO Shop@Home’s kids’ section where we get to see this long-overdue LEGO HP set. If you recall, news about this set came out mid-October, with the LEGO Harry Potter Book of Monsters initially spotted as a gift-with-purchase (GWP) set in a brochure found in a LEGO Discovery Center Store in Shanghai, China.

Details regarding its international release were scant during that time, and now, LEGO HP fans, in general, will be glad to know that we will be seeing this official brick-version of the Book of Monsters anytime soon. Other than these official images, we only have its published building instructions in the US as proof that this set is just around the corner, perhaps as a GWP set as well.

The LEGO Harry Potter Book of Monsters (30628) set comes in at 319 pieces and comes with a Draco Malfoy minifigure. It measures almost 5 inches in width and comes with a pair of wheels at the bottom that allows it to move around while making its jaw mechanism move up and down similar to how it is seen in the movies.

lego hp book of monsters 02

Again, there is not much info on LEGO’s website as of this time but I can bet my bricks that this will be a substantial GWP set, perhaps in line with a LEGO Harry Potter promotions that will launch as part of LEGO’s Black Friday sales. If you wish to give it a try and build your own version of this set, then you may download the LEGO Harry Potter Book of Monsters building instructions right here, and see if you have the parts needed to come up with this cute brick monstrosity. However, be advised that you have to settle for a sightless brick critter considering that the official version has stickers for its eyes and title.

Thanks to Brick Fanatics for the heads up, with additional info from the Brickfinder as well.  I’ll provide you with more updates as new info comes in, but in the meantime, you may also want to check some of the LEGO Harry Potter sets that are rumored to be released in 2021.

LEGO Launches Its #RebuildTheWorld Holiday 2020 Campaign

LEGO launched its holiday 2020 ad campaign earlier today, breathing new life to its #RebuildTheWorld play advocacy. This new LEGO holiday campaign ad focuses on the creative talents of children and how families and adults, in general, can learn a thing or two. Check out this latest advert, shared earlier today via LEGO’s social media channels.

Set to the tone of Louis Armstrong’s iconic song, What a Wonderful World, this latest LEGO #RebuildTheWorld campaign, becomes even more relevant today considering that most of the world is now confined indoors due to the coronavirus pandemic. And LEGO provides that kind of creative, indoor play opportunity that allows us to explore the bright side of life via LEGO’s various licensed and non-licensed themes. From galaxy-spanning adventures aboard an X-wing and a TIE Fighter to ninjas, castles, and dragons, there’s a LEGO brick-building inspiration for every member of the family.

#RebuildTheWorld

This year’s LEGO holiday #RebuildTheWorld ad campaign will be largely seen across various media platforms via TV and the internet, and of course in all LEGO brand stores starting today. New LEGO® campaign sees children from around the world rebuild the Holidays

LEGO Brand Holiday Main Still

Billund, November 2nd, 2020: A new playful Holiday campaign from the LEGO Group celebrates the magic of the everyday as experienced by children through LEGO® play. The campaign showcases families coming together and experiencing the joyful, humorous adventures that children create and explore as they build, unbuild, and rebuild with LEGO products.

The LEGO system has long been the ultimate platform for creative expression and creative problem-solving. Children can build anything they can imagine, before taking it apart and building a new story, developing creative confidence and resilience that 9 in 10 parents say will help their child be successful in later life(1).

The new creative is part of the company’s Rebuild the World brand campaign. It journeys through a whimsical adventure created by families building and playing together in a world that only LEGO play could create. Every story, animal, and vehicle in the fun-filled celebration of children’s creativity is based on existing LEGO products; princess knights calm dragons, astronauts celebrate their marriage with dinosaurs and giant chicken, and a Star Wars™ AT-AT™ takes a nap mid-crusade.

The playful storyline is set to a bespoke reimagining of ‘What a Wonderful World’ remastered to celebrate the optimistic outlook of children. The instrumental was recorded with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.

Families will also be able to listen to Spotify-curated playlists inspired by some of their favorite hobbies, interests, and themes from the campaign as they explore LEGO building together. Examples include a galaxy-transporting LEGO Star Wars™ playlist, an adrenaline-fueled list inspired by vehicles, and a collection of music for animal lovers.

The holiday campaign was created by the LEGO Group’s internal agency, the LEGO Agency. The fully integrated global campaign will run across a variety of channels including TV, digital, Spotify, out of home, e-commerce channels, and in LEGO stores.

The film was created by a multi-award-winning team including direction by The Bobbsey Twins from Homicide, production by BLINK, and post-production by Framestore London. Shoppable formats will be used to help parents easily purchase LEGO products that inspire children in the advert.

November 2020 LEGO Store Calendar Features the LEGO 1989 Batwing

LEGO servers are now updated to include the November 2020 LEGO Store Calendar, giving us a glimpse of things to come in your nearest LEGO brand store. As the LEGO Group gradually resumes operations of all of its stores, we can still notice the lack of in-store building activities that the stores used to have. Despite these limitations, there are still plenty of reasons to visit (following health safety protocols in your area, of course) your fave LEGO Store and to check out the freebies that they have in store for next month. Take a look at next month’s LEGO Store promotional calendar below. You may also download a PDF copy of this LEGO promotional calendar right here.

Fast-forward to 2020, you may use your 50 VIP points if you wish to try your luck in bagging this exclusive, starting November 9 until 29. Remember, no purchases necessary to join the LEGO VIP minifigure sweepstakes.

Other things worth noticing in the November 2020 LEGO Store Calendar is the official announcement of this year’s LEGO Black Friday Sale. The highly anticipated annual LEGO sale event will happen from November 27 to 30. Stay tuned for more updates on the hottest LEGO sets that will go on sale during this promo period.

Finally, you may also mark your calendars on November 17 for the official launch of the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special, which will begin streaming over at Disney+ starting on this date. This animated Holiday Special directly follows the events in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. We find Rey embarking on a time-spanning adventure that will allow her to meet some of the iconic characters in the entire Star Wars saga. It will be an interesting mash-up of all LEGO Star Wars characters wrapped around that LEGO holiday humor.

Step Up To The Brand-New LEGO® Ideas 123 Sesame Street

LEGO Ideas 123 Sesame Street (21324)

Imagined by a keen LEGO builder and seasoned Sesame Street fan, the first-ever Sesame Street product from the LEGO Group will be available from 1st November from LEGO.com and LEGO Stores.

Billund, October 22, 2020: Voted for by LEGO brick lovers all over the world, a wonderfully nostalgic new LEGO Ideas set has been brought to life after being envisioned by an avid builder. The brand-new LEGO® Ideas 123 Sesame Street set is the latest product from the LEGO Ideas collection, which conceptualizes and produces the creative wonders imagined and voted for by LEGO brick fans themselves.

Created with all the delightful elements of 123 Sesame Street, the new set is packed with authentic details from the famous New York City neighborhood. From Bert and Ernie’s apartment, in which Bert famously pleaded with Ernie to remove a banana from his ear so he could hear better, to Big Bird’s nest, where the grown-ups finally met Mr. Snuffleupagus in person – builders will marvel in Sesame Street’s most memorable moments.

As they embark on their immersive build journey of LEGO® Ideas 123 Sesame Street, seasoned LEGO fans and younger builders alike can take a trip down memory lane, passing by Hooper’s Store, Oscar the Grouch’s trash can, and many more quintessential Sesame Street locations, making it the perfect set to enjoy on your own or together as a family. Fans can even bring their favorite characters and show moments to life with the brand new and exclusive buildable minifigures which have been molded specifically for the set, including characters such as Cookie Monster, Elmo, and Big Bird.

LEGO Ideas 123 Sesame Street (21324)

The new LEGO Ideas 123 Sesame Street set is part of the LEGO Ideas collection, which offers fans the opportunity to submit their own brick creations with the chance to have their concept brought to life with the help of LEGO master designers and a share of the profits. Other recent LEGO Ideas sets inspired by LEGO fans, include the LEGO Ideas Grand Piano and the LEGO Ideas Friends Central Perk.

Created by Sesame Street fan and LEGO enthusiast Ivan Guerrero, this set brings together the magic of the iconic New York City street with the mindful and creative building experience of LEGO bricks to create an instant classic.

Speaking about the creative journey, Ivan Guerrero said: “As a long-time fan of the LEGO Group and Sesame Street, it has been a dream come true to be able to merge my two passions into a memorable set for fellow builders to enjoy. LEGO bricks and Sesame Street shaped both my childhood and adult years, and the opportunity to work with the LEGO Ideas team to bring this quintessential New York street to life has been thrilling.”

Federico Begher, VP of Global Marketing at The LEGO Group added: “We were instantly drawn to Ivan’s idea, as we had never created an official LEGO product with Sesame Street before. It was clear from the submission that Ivan is passionate about Sesame Street and he really brought it to life with a wide array of characters and bright, classic colors. For the first time in the history of LEGO Ideas, we also had the opportunity to create brand new minifigures for a set – bringing something new and exciting to our LEGO fans.

Knowing the impact Sesame Street has had on the world for decades, sharing similar values with generations past and present, this felt like an exciting way to blend novelty with nostalgia, and pay homage to the truly iconic 123 Sesame Street through LEGO Ideas.”

LEGO Ideas 123 Sesame Street (21324)

“Your imagination and creativity can take you places—and with the help of LEGO Ideas, it’s now transporting fans to Sesame Street where you’re never too old for a playdate,” said Gabriela Arenas, Sesame Workshop’s Vice President of Licensing, North America.

Once built, the 1,367-piece LEGO® 123 Sesame Street is sure to bring excitement and nostalgia into any space, measuring 9” (24cm) high, 13.5” (35cm) wide and 8.2” (21cm) deep.

The new LEGO® Ideas 123 Sesame Street set is the latest example of how the LEGO Group aims to inspire builders of all ages to build, rebuild and get excited by the process of creation.

LEGO® 123 Sesame Street will be available directly via LEGO.com and LEGO Stores from 1st November.

LEGO Ideas Team Teases on the Arrival of the LEGO Ideas 123 Sesame Street (21324)

I have to admit, I’m totally hyped for this one. Since its announcement as the next official LEGO Ideas set from last year’s LEGO Ideas First 2019 Review Stage, I’m absolutely looking forward to this brick version of one of my most endearing childhood memories. Inspired by my fellow Filipino LEGO fan builder Ivan Guerrero, this is something that I am raring to see displayed alongside my LEGO Ideas Voltron (21311) set. The long wait will finally pay off now that we are inching closer to the official reveal of the LEGO Ideas 123 Sesame Street (21324).

Though there ain’t much to see just yet, LEGO nevertheless gave us a teaser on what to expect from its next LEGO Ideas set. As we can see from their official social media channels, we can now glimpse at the very first Sesame Street Cookie Monster minifigure.

Based on this teaser video, we can see some of the LEGO elements that hint at the colorful minifigure characters that will most likely appear in this set. We have, of course, Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch together with his trash can, Elmo and his goldfish, Ernie with his all-time favorite rubber duckie, Bert with his box of paper clips, and of course Big Bird and his cuddly teddy bear.

Sesame Street
The LEGO fan submission that inspired the LEGO Ideas 123 Sesame Street (21324) set.

If you’re keeping pulse over at the LEGO fan community at Instagram, you may have already stumbled upon some leaked info regarding the LEGO Ideas 123 Sesame Street (21324) set. For one, the official brick rendition will be noticeably smaller than the fan design originally submitted by Ivan. Instead of opening sideways like a modular set, it seems that LEGO designers opted for two buildings that are joined together to create the impression of houses on Sesame Street. It is somewhat similar to the design concept to that of the LEGO Harry Potter Diagon Alley (75978). Frankly speaking, I was looking forward to the design team being faithful to Ivan’s original vision for the set. I will love to see 123 Sesame Street rendered into a modular set that can be opened to reveal the neat, subtle details of each room the way I remember them in the TV shows.

The official LEGO Ideas 123 Sesame Street (21324) set will come in at 1,760 pieces and will retail for 119.99 Euros once its debuts next month. Be sure to stay tuned for more updates on this set anytime soon.

Here’s a Look at Some of the First LEGO Minecraft 2021 Sets

Last week, we had a glimpse of what LEGO has in the works for 2021, particularly in the first half of the upcoming year. With plenty of these sets coming from its licensed themes, you may have noticed that there are still some particular themes that the rumor mill may have not covered. Thanks to another third-party toy retailer, we now have a look at some of the first LEGO Minecraft 2021 sets that we can expect anytime soon.

Dutch online toy store Planet Happy has listed two of these LEGO Minecraft sets, both slated to be released in January 2021. From the looks of things, LEGO still has building sets in store for its open-world, video game counterpart considering that the Minecraft franchise has also evolved. With the introduction of Minecraft Dungeons earlier in May, the wealth of brick inspirations for the LEGO design team has just leveled up as well.

As seen on Planet Happy’s website, we can expect three new LEGO Minecraft 2021 sets to be released, with two of these now seen online with their respective product images and descriptions. Do take note that the following descriptions were roughly translated from Google, and may not completely reflect LEGO’s official product info. I’ll keep you posted once these sets make their debut at LEGO Shop@Home.

Thanks to Brickset for the heads up.

The names of these upcoming LEGO sets under the Super Mario theme are understandably kept under wraps, but from the looks of it, we can expect a new Starter Course set, 3 Expansion Sets, 2 additional Super Mario costumes, or Power-Ups, and another series of Character Packs. The Starter Course Set 2 is quite interesting and we’ll have to see how this will turn out.

LEGO Harry Potter

Rumor has it that the LEGO Harry Potter theme will receive its Disney-like series of Storybook Adventures, but in this case, based on the various classrooms of the iconic Hogwarts Castle. 75307 18+ Helmet Series: ??? (??? pieces, €69.99)

This is an exhaustive list though since we can still expect plenty of new information to come in as we approach the last quarter of this year. However, since LEGO is quite mum about these things, for now, I highly suggest that we consider all of these things for the rumors that they really are for the time being. Unless we hear LEGO’s official press release and product reveal regarding its upcoming LEGO sets, then let’s take this piece of news with a healthy amount of salt.
