First Product Listing and Release Date for LEGO Harry Potter Minifigure Series (71022) Found in Germany

With a new cinematic installment of the Wizarding World franchise by J.K. Rowling and Warner Bros. coming towards the end of the year, the marketing has been building up to full steam these past months. Bits and pieces of news have been given throughout that time like many puzzle pieces.

For instance, the June-December 2018 LEGO Catalog (US version) dropped little hints of what could well be a new series of LEGO Harry Potter collectible minifigures, set number 71022. That does dovetail into the impending release of the LEGO Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts sets, coming much earlier in July.

At last however, we have more information, thanks to happenings over in the European LEGO markets that have been caught by Promo Bricks. While there’s no official announcement from the manufacturer yet, the LEGO Harry Potter Minifigure Series 1 (71022) has been listed on online LEGO stock store JB Spielwaren.

Said online listing of 71022 also includes a release date (at least for the German market): they’re getting it on September 28, with JB Spielwaren discounting the €3.99 retail price to €3.39 (that’s $4.63, then $3.94). As denoted by the “Series 1” tag, minifigure set 71022 is the first of a set, with its 22 minifigures later to be added up to 60 in total.

While we wait to see how the US LEGO market follows up with its German counterpart, we can be assured that the other LEGO Harry Potter sets are coming early on July 1; others will arrive on August 1. Finally, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald will continue the early-20^th Century adventures of wizard magi-zoologist Newt Scamander on November 16.

Los Angeles Angels’ Shohei Ohtani Gets An OYO Sports Minifigure

If you’re no stranger to LEGO-compatible collectible minifigures, then it’s most likely that you have come across the name and brand, OYO Sports. Similar to LEGO CMFs, OYO Sports, as the name suggests, produces LEGO compatible minifigs that showcases the most famous names in sports. The appeal behind the OYO brand lies in their extensive and exclusive tie-ups with major sports leagues such as the Major League Baseball. The LEGO US Catalog (June-December 2018) Teases on a New Minifigure Series

Not only does the recently released online LEGO US Catalog 2H 2018 teased on two upcoming LEGO BrickHeadz sets, but it seems that we’ll be seeing the next Collectible Minifigure Series sooner than expected. We’re still swooning with delight on LEGO’s party-themed, commemorative 40^th Anniversary CMF Series 18 (71021) minifigs, and it looks like we’re about to get another wave roughly two months from now.

The announcement came in almost as a side note on that particular page in the LEGO US Catalog, and on the rest of its foreign counterparts. The said ‘surprise’ has been rumored to be, within LEGO community and fan forums, to be the LEGO Harry Potter Minifigure Series (71022), which also coincides with the release of the rest of the Wizarding World sets.

If you recall way back in 2002, LEGO released four series of collectible Harry Potter minifigure that comes free with qualifying purchases of LEGO Harry Potter sets at that time. New LEGO Star Wars Collectible Minifigures: Kessel Mine Worker (40299) and Han Solo Mudtrooper (40300) Surfaced

This piece of news have been floating around for quite some time, but I’m a bit surprised that it has not been receiving much attention as compared to other LEGO Star Wars collectible minifigs before, such as from The Last Jedi’s DJ (40298) minifigure, and Rogue One’s Scarif Stormtrooper (40176) and R3-M2 (40268).

Thanks to a tip from Hoth Bricks, we now know what will be the next LEGO Star Wars collectible minifigs from the Han Solo spin-off. And similar to Rogue One, we have two minifigures lined up as the next promotional polybags: the LEGO Star Wars Solo Kessel Mine Worker (40299) and Han Solo Mudtrooper (40300).

The above images of these polybags were spotted over at Bricklink, with sellers located somewhere in Europe. However, what is puzzling about these polybags and those that came before them, was that they were previously Toys R Us exclusives when they were first offered as promotional freebies. Now considering TRU’s eventual demise, we’re not quite sure on how LEGO will distribute them later on. This situation echoes the same concern of the recently rumored Toys R Us 2018 Bricktober minifigures that Brian recently reported on, which includes a highly wanted collection of never-before-seen Infinity War and Harry Potter figures.

In any case, we’re still hopeful that LEGO will find a way for these collectible LEGO Star Wars minifigures to hit the market, and we may even have the Kessel Mine Worker and Han Solo in Mudtrooper uniform available in some LEGO stores, just like what happened with the LEGO Star Wars DJ (40298) minifigure. I guess for now, we just have to wait.

LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader Pod (5005376) Is Back At LEGO Shop@Home

LEGO Store at Disney Springs, Walt Disney World to Hold “Star Wars” Building Event with Millennium Falcon (Plus Freebies)

This Friday, finally this Friday, Solo: A Star Wars Story will arrive in cinemas and then people can see for themselves whether or not this franchise spinoff, described as a “space western”, was well-put together despite its production history of directorial changes and similar troubles.

On that day, the LEGO Store in Walt Disney World’s shopping complex Disney Springs will be hosting a building event that will carry on over the weekend. It’s necessary to have it go for that many days, because unlike recent building events in Europe and Canada, this is a giant undertaking needing lots of people.

For those thinking this is another “Make a micro Millennium Falcon and Take it home” stunt, it’s not. Rather, Disney Springs’ LEGO Store is inviting all interested comers to assist a team of Master Builders over the weekend to build a giant Falcon instead, measuring 15ft length x 12ft width.

It’s almost a sure bet that this big Millennium Falcon brick model will be in the same colors as the one in Solo, whites and blues. That’d be sweet and will definitely sell that this is a promotion for the long-awaited Star Wars spinoff starring Alden Ehrenreich as young Han.

The Falcon-building exercise at LEGO Store Disney Springs will be from May 25 to May 28, from 12 noon to 8 PM each of those four days. In addition, there will be free minifigures from the store with every minimum $35 total purchase, a different character for each promo day.

First Look At the LEGO Unikitty! Collectible Figures Series 1 (41775) Blind Bags

Brickset has uploaded our first images of the contents of the upcoming LEGO Unikitty! Collectible Figures Series 1 (41775), which were first announced by LEGO last April. Found over at a LEGO Certified Store in Zagreb, Croatia, Brickset reader Alan K was kind enough to share these images. The flyer itself follows the typical collector sheet format similar to LEGO CMFs. The sheet and blindbag itself is marked with the Series 1 logo, which suggests that LEGO intends to follow-up with another wave later on.

What I find particularly interesting is the use of new parts to make the Unikitty! Collectible Figures more stable, especially at the neck area. Unlike Unikitty’s first iteration, this later version is sturdier thanks to the introduction of a new 1×3 inverted tile with hole in the middle as you can see below. This allows a 1×1 round plate with shaft to be inserted snugly underneath. It’s surely an improvement both functionally and aesthetically. The cloud baseplate is also an excellent piece with lots of potential.

However, it should still be noted that feeling your way through these LEGO Unikitty blindbags is practically impossible. So if you’re planning to collect all 12 of them, then your best shot is to purchase the whole box and share some to your Unikitty-minded friends. Are you planning to get all of the LEGO Unikitty! LEGO Unikitty Collectible Figures Series 1 (41775) Revealed!

Boy, oh boy! This weekend is jam-packed with a ton of reveals from LEGO that it’s kind of hard to focus where to begin. Better start the ball rolling, and let’s begin with the multifaceted (read: bipolar?), brick-built kitty sensation from the highly successful LEGO Movie.

Now that she has her own TV show, LEGO opted to push through a dedicated theme for her and the rest of her gang. We already reported back in January during the Nuremberg Toy Fair that the sensational Unikitty will be having her own line of collectible figures, or more specifically LEGO Unikitty Collectible Figure series (41775). For one, this is definitely not your typical CMF series due to the very feature of Unikitty herself being made roughly of 14, mostly printed, standard LEGO pieces set on a cloud shape baseplate.

Now thanks to Italian toy and hobby store, Radio Kontrol, we no longer need to guess how this Unikitty collectible figure series will turn out. Now if you’re looking forward to this one, then a word of caution: it is virtually impossible for you to feel your way through most of the characters in this series because as you can see, each blind bag basically has the same kind of pieces save for their own unique printings. Check Out These Latest LEGO Training Manuals From Scholastic

It seems that there are still plenty of LEGO themed books to watch out for this second half of the year. Other than the impressive collection offered by DK that comes with exclusive, free LEGO sets and minifigures, children’s book publisher, Scholastic, also has something to offer worth looking into.

It may not really fall under that ‘exclusive’ category such as those offered by DK, but still, any free LEGO is something worth catching. In this case, for those who are still missing the DC Comics version of Aquaman as found in Arctic Batman vs Mr. Freeze: Aquaman on Ice (76000), Black Manta Deep Sea Strike (76027), and LEGO Dimensions Aquaman Fun Pack (71237), then this is your chance to add him to your collection without breaking the bank. Both are now listed for pre-order at Amazon so better take advantage of their relatively low price as it is currently available.
