Australian LEGO Certified Store Bricks Megastore has recently revealed two new sets in celebration of Disney’s 100th anniversary, showcasing some of the less celebrated characters from our favorite Disney films. The 18+ set LEGO Disney Villain Icons (43227) and the 6+ set LEGO Disney Duos (43226) both offer something unique and exciting for Disney fans and LEGO enthusiasts alike. Let’s check these out.
LEGO Disney Villain Icons (43227)
The LEGO Disney Villain Icons sets focus on some of the most iconic villains from classic Disney films. And for Disney LEGO fans, this set offers an opportunity to collect the first LEGO minifigure versions of these memorable characters We have never-before-seen minifigure renditions of Gaston from Beauty and the Beast, the Evil Queen in her disguised form from Snow White, and our first-ever minifig version of Jafar Genie from Aladdin. There’s also a newer version of Maleficent as seen in Sleeping Beauty.
The set also features a bunch of Disney memorabilia that is easily recognizable for avid Disney fans. We have a brick-built version of the poisoned apple from Snow White, and several storybooks that bear the title of the other films mentioned. It’s also nice that the typical LEGO humor is also seen in this set with the addition of a LEGO VHS tape bearing the title of the 1989 classic animated film The Little Mermaid. There’s also a reference to the Red Queen from Alice in Wonderland in the likes of an actual brick card. Finally, it also includes Captain Hook’s brick-built pocket watch from the original 1953 film Peter Pan.
While it’s quite a challenge to narrow down all the ideal LEGO Disney Villain to include in this set, I’m personally happy with this selection. This set, villainous as it may seem, adds a nice touch and ties in well with the LEGO Disney theme.
LEGO Disney Duos (43226)
Like its villainous LEGO Disney Villain Icons counterpart, the LEGO Disney Duos set showcases some famous side character companions from various Disney films, from the older classics to newer releases.
The buildable figures include Pua and Hei Hei from Moana, Squirt and Nemo from Finding Nemo, Meeko and Percy from Pocahontas, and the classic pair of Lumiere and Cogsworth from Beauty and the Beast.
This set is perfect for younger children, aged 6+, who are just starting to get into LEGO and Disney. The buildable figures are not just loaded with fun play features, but they also make great collectibles and display for LEGO Disney fans of all ages.
Pricing and Release Date
While both sets are yet to make their official appearance at LEGO.com, Bricks Megastore marks both the LEGO Disney Villain Icons and LEGO Disney Duos sets for a July 1st release date. The latter is expected to retail for 209.99 AUD (or roughly 140 USD) and the former for 72.99 AUD (48 to 50 USD) as seen from the Australian LEGO certified store website. There’s also an option to pre-order these if you live anywhere near their stores.
And since this is already listed at LEGO partner stores, then I guess it’s just a matter of days before we see these sets make their official debut at LEGO’s official online shopping portal.
Overall, the LEGO Disney Villain Icons and Disney Duos sets are perfect for fans of Disney and LEGO alike. They offer unique and exciting collectibles that are sure to impress and delight forever Disney fans. Just be on the lookout for these sets and let us know if you spot them near your local LEGO Store. And as always, bookmark our website for the latest updates on these upcoming sets.

LEGO Star Wars May the 4th 2023: Freebies with Purchases
This year’s LEGO Star Wars May the 4th promotions will run from May 1 to 7, 2023 as mentioned over at the LEGO online shop campaign page. However, many deals at individual retailers will remain unknown until the actual event kicks off on May 4th.
The LEGO online shop usually has the most important promotions for LEGO Star Wars fans during this event, even if the discounts are traditionally the lowest there. This is due to the often attractive new releases in the past, but above all, to the free gifts which can be yours for certain qualifying purchases. And these freebies can become quite expensive on reselling sites as we’ve seen in the past.
For this year, there will be a lot of LEGO Star Wars May the 4th free gifts that will be up for grabs or while supplies last. Now is the great time to be a LEGO VIP member since many of these freebies will be unlocked along with your VIP perks. As of to date, there are three Gift with Purchase (GWP) items that are already confirmed.
The big freebie for this year’s May the 4th event is the LEGO Star Wars Death Star II (40591). This set is a miniature version of the 2nd Death Star and comes complete with a Return of the Jedi 40th Anniversary plaque. The set comes with LEGO 18+ branding in an exclusive black box and consists of 289 parts. However, there is no LEGO Star Wars minifigure to watch out for from this one. The minimum qualifying purchase to bag this set has dropped slightly compared to last year. This LEGO Star Wars May the 4th promo will be available for all LEGO Star Wars purchases of $150 or more. This gift-with-purchase set is scheduled to be available from May 1st to May 7th, 2023, while supplies last.
As an additional free gift, there will be a Return of the Jedi 40th Anniversary Collectible in the form of an exquisite medal, available for a minimum qualifying purchase of $85. This shiny collectible silver medal is engraved with the Death Star II on one side and the LEGO Star Wars wording on the other. It comes packaged in a matching box and covered with a transparent blue hologram of the Death Star, shaped to resemble the data cartridge containing the plans for the Death Star.
From a minimum purchase value of $40 or more, LEGO Star Wars fans will receive the LEGO Star Wars X-Wing Starfighter polybag which has been available since January. This free gift has a value of $3.99 and can already be found in various shops as well.

LEGO and Nintendo fans can expect more exciting sets as the LEGO Super Mario theme expands. LEGO recently gave us a peek of more LEGO Donkey Kong characters to come, adding to the first set revealed last MAR10 celebrations. As it turns out, more LEGO Donkey Kong sets will arrive this summer, and we can expect to see not just Donkey Kong but also other popular characters from the franchise.
Here’s the sneak peek LEGO shared over social media:
We can’t wait to show you the new additions to the world of LEGO Super Mario™! 🤩 pic.twitter.com/sa5XF0LdCo
From the get-go, we can see that the following iconic DK characters will be given the LEGO treatment.
More LEGO Donkey Kong Characters To Be Expected
Diddy Kong
Joining Donkey Kong is his loyal sidekick, Diddy Kong. The character has been a fan favorite since its debut in the game Donkey Kong Country in 1994. The LEGO version of Diddy Kong is sure to be a hit among collectors and gamers alike.
Dixie Kong
Another character to join the DK crew is Dixie Kong, who first appeared in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest. Dixie Kong is known for her unique abilities, including using her ponytail to float and fly.
Cranky Kong
Cranky Kong, the elder Kong and original Donkey Kong from the 1981 arcade game, is also part of the new LEGO set. In Donkey Kong Country, he serves as the player’s guide and shares his wisdom and humor throughout the game.
Funky Kong
Last but not least, Funky Kong, the cool surfer dude and owner of Funky’s Flights, will also be part of the LEGO set. Funky Kong has appeared in several Donkey Kong games and is known for providing transportation to the other characters.
Pricing and Availability
Although no release date has been announced yet, LEGO has teased fans with a brief clip on Twitter featuring the upcoming DK figures. It’s safe to say that fans are eagerly anticipating the release of these figures and cannot wait to add them to their collections.
LEGO’s latest announcement of the Donkey Kong figures is exciting news for both LEGO and Donkey Kong fans. With the addition of Diddy, Dixie, Cranky, and Funky, the DK crew is now complete in LEGO form. Though it will be much cooler to see actual minifigures or bigfigs of these beloved characters, I’m still pretty sure that LEGO Nintendo fans will love to add these brick-built characters to their collection. Expect more LEGO Donkey Kong reveals in the next few weeks.

A purported image of the rumored LEGO Icons Pac-Man Arcade Machine set has been making rounds online, and it’s creating plenty of buzz among the LEGO fan community. This image, posted by reliable LEGO insider @Falconbricks via Twitter shows a miniaturized version of the iconic arcade machine. While the images are a bit blurry, it shows a classic cabinet arcade with three mini-builds of Pac-Man, Blinky, and Clyde.
First look at the new LEGO Pac-Man Arcade Machine set!
The LEGO Icons Pac-Man Arcade Machine set is said to be part of the LEGO Icons portfolio and is rumored to clock in at 2,651 pieces with a price tag of $269.99 making it another pricier LEGO set that appeals to adult LEGO fans. It’s unclear whether this brick-built arcade machine will be functional, but with that price point, it is certainly expected to come up with plenty of play features and interactivity.
It is interesting to note that the price point of the LEGO Icons Pac-Man Arcade Machine is somewhat within the same price range as another brick-built classic, the LEGO Icons Atari 2600 (10306) from last year. I can just imagine how good it will look to see these classic gaming superstars displayed alongside one another.
LEGO Icons Pac-Man Arcade Machine Release Date and Availability
This brick-built classic set is expected to be officially released on June 1, 2023. And though LEGO is yet to make an official announcement, we can be sure that an official reveal may happen anytime within the next couple of weeks. We’ll see if LEGO will also offer this as a pre-order deal which the company is fond of doing lately.
LEGO Icons Pac-Man Arcade Machine and Other Video Games Inspired Builds
LEGO has been making sets based on popular video games for a while now. Just last week, they announced a series of LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog sets in collaboration with Sega. And as of to date, LEGO video gamers can also expand their collection with Nintendo-inspired sets such as the highly interactive Super Mario series, and the brick-built Nintendo Entertainment System.
The Pac-Man Arcade Machine set is an exciting addition to Lego’s video game-themed sets. With its impressive piece count and interactive features, it is going to be a sure hit among LEGO and video gaming fans. Stay tuned for more updates as LEGO makes an official announcement about this set anytime soon.

The LEGO Friends Beach Adventure Park (41737) set was recently revealed by a LEGO Certified Store in Singapore and is slated to release in June. With 1,348 pieces, this set features a range of thrilling rides and attractions that will transport you to a fun-filled summer day at the beach.
Dive into the Details of the LEGO Friends Beach Adventure Park
Based on this image shared via the LEGO Certified Store’s Facebook page, here’s a breakdown of some of the key features that make the LEGO Friends Beach Adventure Park set a must-have for LEGO amusement park enthusiasts:
The Wave Rider – Includes an exciting watercraft, a minidoll, and a small camera for those Instagrammable selfies.
The Fun Bay – Features a spinning ride, a classic amusement park attraction that swings riders through the air aboard several brick-built sea creatures: a dolphin, sea horse, and sea tortoise. It also includes an actual spinning function via a turning mechanism located at the base of the ride.
Refreshment Stand – It’s kind of clever to see how those angled studs, first used in LEGO Collectible Minifigures DC Superheroes 71026, were used here as drinking straws. The stand offers hotdogs, pizzas, and an assortment of drinks for our local Heartlake City residents.
Pirate-Themed Shooting Gallery – There are plenty of prizes up for grabs in this pirate-inspired shooting gallery. It’s also nice to see that LEGO threw in some exclusive elements for the prizes in this portion of the set, such as the trans-green balloon dog (previously an exclusive minifigure accessory to the Party Clown from CMF Series 18), and the tan rabbit stuff toy (first included in large, more expensive sets such as the LEGO Icons Holiday Main Street 10308, LEGO Ideas 123 Sesame Street 21324, and LEGO Friends Heartlake City Shopping Mall 41450). The rabbit stuff toy element also made its debut as a minifig accessory to the Pyjama Girl from LEGO CMF Series 20.
LEGO Friends Beach Adventure Park Set Minidolls
This set includes four mini-doll figures – Zac, Nova, Charli, and Dia – who are all dressed for a day of fun in the sun.
LEGO.com has not yet listed this latest LEGO Friends summer offering. But we can expect an official reveal anytime soon and a launch date sometime in June. This set is expected to retail for around $100 given its piece count and minidolls included.
LEGO has released a series of videos on their YouTube channel that offers a sneak peek of the upcoming LEGO Dreamzzz theme. These LEGO Dreamzzz teaser videos are creating quite a buzz among the LEGO fan community who are eagerly waiting for the launch of the new sets.
If you recall, the idea of having this new LEGO theme surfaced back in July last year when LEGO registered the LEGO Dreamzzz brand under the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). Then last February, we had an idea of the possible characters that will be included in this upcoming theme. Now that the cat is out of the bag, LEGO opted to release a series of LEGO Dreamzzz teaser videos alongside our LEGO Ninjago heroes.
Let’s take a closer look at the different dreams that are teased in this series of videos.
In Kai’s dream, we get a glimpse of some exciting larger-than-life characters. The bunny, crocodile car, and robot are some of the characters that we see in the teaser. If the rumors turn out to be true, then the robot that is seen in Kai’s dream sequence is the AI robot teacher named Z-Blob. Joining the AI-powered mechatron are Mateo and Izzie.
These fascinating characters could potentially become the next sets in the LEGO Dreamzzz theme. My bet is on that Blue Bunny and Crocodile Car. The possibilities are endless, and we’re just thrilled to see what new and exciting sets will be unveiled soon.
LEGO Dreamzzz Teaser: Nya’s Dream of Mushroom Men and Colorful Deer
Nya’s dream sequence showcases some unique and colorful characters such as mushroom men and vibrant deer. These characters could offer a fresh and creative twist to the LEGO Dreamzzz theme. Fans are excited to see how these characters will be incorporated into the sets.
LEGO Dreamzzz Teaser: Zane’s Flying Bus, Shark Ship, and a Black Horse
Zane’s dream features some exciting action scenes with a flying bus driven by a monkey astronaut, a mechanized shark ship, and a black horse chasing him. These thrilling scenes could inspire some epic LEGO sets that are sure to impress kids and AFOLs alike.
LEGO Dreamzzz Teaser: Sensei Wu’s Turtle Van and Crocodile Car
Finally, Sensei Wu’s dream offers a glimpse of a turtle van walking by and the crocodile car from Kai’s dream. These vehicles could become exciting new sets that will undoubtedly be a hit among LEGO collectors.
Countdown to the Official Reveal
If these LEGO Dreamzzz teaser videos weren’t enough to pique your interest, then LEGO.com has a Coming Soon page that also gives another teaser on the day of the grand reveal. You’ll find a countdown timer that currently has 27 days left (as of this posting) until the official reveal of the LEGO Dreamzzz theme. The anticipation is building, and fans can hardly wait to get their hands on these new sets. What is interesting is that there are also elements in this dedicated page that may perhaps give clues to what to expect from the LEGO Dreamzzz theme. As Jay’s Brick Blog pointed out, the page contains a blurred image referred to as “Realm 1” looking at its source code. It also has another reference to Blue Bunny featured in one of the LEGO Dreamzzz teaser videos. It’s interesting to see how all of these clues are connected somehow, and we can only guess until the official reveal is made next month.
The new LEGO Dreamzzz teaser videos have sparked a lot of excitement among LEGO fans. With larger-than-life characters, unique creatures, thrilling action scenes, and exciting vehicles, this theme promises to be a huge hit among LEGO fans. The countdown to the official reveal has begun and be sure to stay tuned for more updates.
