LEGO Online Shop UK’s Black Friday Deals.

It’s Black Friday, people, and the deals are out in full force. LEGO of course is no exception, and their online shop over at the UK is offering some hefty discounts on some of their pricier sets in stock. And when we say pricy we mean, obviously expensive.

Thus far, the best set deals that can be gotten from LEGO Shop UK’s Black Friday bash would have to be the LEGO Creator Expert Brick Bank (10251), a modular marvel filled with minifigures and other stuff. Usually priced at £129.99, LEGO UK is bumping it down to £103.99 for just this Friday.

Then there is the uber-techy LEGO Mindstorms EV3 (31313), one of the most advanced model sets ever to come out from LEGO. Even the Black Friday deal can’t reduce its price under £200 for one; you’ll need to really have some big savings to get it for £239.99 (down from £299.99).

The following are other marked-down LEGO sets of note that British buyers can avail of this November 24:

  • LEGO Star Wars First Order Heavy Assault Walker (75189 ) – £129.99 £103.99
  • LEGO Creator Expert Volkswagen Beetle (10252 ) – £74.99 £59.99

The LEGO Batman Movie The Joker Manor (70922) Now Up at shop.LEGO.com!

We’re just counting the minutes away before LEGO opens its Brick Friday doors to its eagerly waiting fans, and one set that we have our eyes on is the technically crazy, eye candy of a set, the LEGO Batman Movie The Joker Manor (70922). First revealed last September, LEGO impressed TLBM fans with Joker’s wacky rendition of the Wayne Mansion, especially with the inclusion of a functional roller coaster ride. The best part of it, The Joker Manor does not come with any VIP early access privilege so when the clock strikes at 11:59PM EST on November 23, you should be ready with that keyboard.

So far, The Joker Manor has received plenty of positive reviews already, with many AFOLs even tinkering with the set’s train or railing system by including power functions to make the roller coaster move on its own. The Brothers Brick has ingeniously found a way on how to do this, and you can check it out right here.

Lastly, LEGO is throwing in another freebie to add to your TLBM collection. The rare LEGO Batman Movie Disco Batman and Tears of Batman (30607) minifigure polybag comes as a free item if you purchase The Joker Manor from November 24 until December 31, or until supplies last (which I sincerely believe will be out in a matter of hours).

Official Reveal of New LEGO Architecture Shanghai (21039) Set.

A few months after LEGO released a scale model of their new attraction in Billund, the LEGO House (21037) or Home of the Brick, LEGO has revealed another addition to their latest Skyline subtheme. Coming in at 597 pieces, the upcoming LEGO Architectecture Shanghai (21039) replicates five distinctively tall structures in Shanghai, China.

21039 shanghai 1

These buildings span centuries of architectural design, with one classical edifice and four modern locations, three of which are veritable skyscrapers, namely:

  • Longhua Temple
  • Radisson Hotel Shanghai New World and the Bund
  • Oriental Pearl TV Tower
  • Shanghai World Financial Center
  • Shanghai Center Building

Word of the LEGO Architecture Shanghai (21039) skyline set was first revealed by official sources in China, where the LEGO Group has maintained its most recent factory operating in Jiaxing since 2015, geared towards the Asian market. The global release for this set is on the first day of the New Year, 2018.

If that’s still something of a long wait for you, then you might consider making plans to travel to Shanghai, specifically Shanghai Disneyland, on December 2. That’s when the Shanghai (21309) set will become available in advance at the theme park’s LEGO Store.

What’s more, there will even be a special guest appearance of Master Builder Jamie Berard during the first day of the set’s launch. By then he would be fresh from his hosting stint at the special Airbnb accommodation promo at the LEGO House in late November (promo joining period is over now, by the way), ready to sign the boxes of 21309 as they are sold.

Many thanks to The Brick Fan for sharing the news.

The LEGO Batman Movie 2018 Box Art Images Revealed!

Last week, LEGO finally gave us our first look at 2018’s collection of LEGO Batman Movie sets featuring a pretty nice collection of TLBM rogue minifigures and sets. Slated to be released in January, Swiss toy store World of Games has just updated its listing to include the box art images of this latest TLBM sets. We don’t have the details on each set’s piece count or costing in US dollars, but by looking at the box sizes we could probably have an idea on how big the sets will be as noted by The Brick Fan. Jurassic World 2: Fallen Kingdom Trailer To Be Out Soon!

A new teaser trailer has been released online hinting on that the first complete trailer for the sequel Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom may be out soon. The teaser, released by film writer Colin Trevorrow via his Twitter page shows Chris Pratt’s Owen Grady making friends with what seems to be a juvenile dinosaur. The teaser shared by Trevorrow suggests that Fallen Kingdom’s first official trailer may also coincide with the debut of Star Wars: The Last Jedi in cinemas. Check the video clip below.

I’m not a dino expert, but I can’t help but notice that the young dinosaur in the clip bears a noticeable resemblance with Owen’s lead Raptor, Blue, in the first film. If so, it looks like will be seeing a lot Raptors again in this sequel, or it could also be a flashback of sorts. As Owen Grady explains in the previous film, it takes a lot of time and effort before earning the trust of Raptors, and these will likely begin with an imprinting of sorts from a very young age. Raptors have been, well, a main staple of Jurassic World and its predecessors. It will not come as a surprise then, if we will be seeing plenty of these agile predators in upcoming LEGO tie-in sets.

jurassic world lego 1024x683

As we reported last month, we will be seeing plenty of LEGO Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom sets as early as April before the film debuts on June 22. Based on insider info, it is said that we will be seeing plenty of Raptors again on at least two of these sets. The film will also have tie-in sets under the Juniors and Duplo themes as well. Personally, though I would like to see some variety in the choices of LEGO dinosaurs in these upcoming sets, it will be nice if LEGO can throw in a baby Raptor or dino, just as we see from the above clip.

We’ll keep you posted on this, and we are very much excited how these upcoming LEGO Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom sets will turn out, so be sure to hit that Subscribe button below for the latest LEGO news updates. Thanks to Screen Rant for the heads up.

LEGO 60th Anniversary “Building Bigger Thinking” Sets Revealed for 2018.

LEGO is turning 60 years old in 2018 (reckoning from the patent date of the LEGO brick), and it’s already a sure bet that they would have some very special treats in store for when that time comes.

Back in August came the earliest hints of what LEGO plans to release in order to mark their anniversary; the answer finally comes in the form of special sets thematically called “Building Bigger Thinking.”

At first glance from the box pictures, they seem to be a motley collection of blocks and minifigures that could be assembled to form creatures, vehicles, and other brick-built figures following a theme as on the set name. The recommended age bracket gets quite the laughs too with the 5-99 range.

This information is courtesy of Hungary’s kockashop.hu and via The Brick Fan. Five sets for the “Building Bigger Thinking” anniversary sets have been confirmed thus far:

Each of them includes a commemorative LEGO brick with “60 Years” printed on them. All in all, these sound like a great way to celebrate six decades of the most well-known toy brand in the world. Many thanks to LEGO.
