Nathaniel (The /rchitect) has created a highly detailed American Indian. He uses a really nice combination of system, Bionicle/Hero factory, and even Duplo parts!
Here’s a closer shot so you can see the high level of attention he has put into this. From the Duplo bear rug, to the ultra tiny slices of teal flex tubing woven together into jewelry; everything comes together to bring this character to life.
And even Chirrut Imwe’s head from Rogue One is incorporated well. Those prefabricated heads are so hard to use as anything other than Lego intended, so its especially nice when it’s done this well. My personal favorite details are the woven rope uniting the headdress, and the purposeful use of the frayed strings like in the tip of the spear.
I haven’t written much about LEGO Worlds lately, probably because I’m not really a big fan of the game. However, when TT Games and Warner Bros. Interactive previously announced the game’s expansion, which includes a paid Classic Space DLC, I felt that the folks behind the development of LEGO Worlds are onto something. Now this feeling has been confirmed when, a few days ago, TT Games have announced yet another DLC pack just in time for Halloween. The LEGO Worlds Monsters Pack is now available as a paid download across various gaming consoles and platforms. I couldn’t help but think that TT Games and Warner Bros. Interactive has their sights on adding plenty of elements coming from some of LEGO’s highly popular retired themes.
Whether it is from the Classic Space theme, or that from the Monster Fighters, seeing your favorite sets from the yesteryears come to life inside LEGO Worlds is really exciting.
Check out the LEGO Worlds Monsters Pack official trailer below, followed by its full press release as announced last Thursday.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games and The LEGO Group announced that Monsters, a new downloadable themed content pack for LEGO Worlds, is available today for $3.99. The Monsters Pack adds Monster Town, a peculiar place full of scary quests, terrifying creatures, haunted houses and ghastly vehicles, where Halloween is celebrated every day! But delinquent zombies are taking their trick-or-treating a bit too seriously. Players must use their LEGO brick building skills to repair the damage and scare away the zombies with tricks of their own.
Players that purchase a physical version LEGO Worlds for Nintendo Switch, priced at $39.99, will also get the Monsters Pack, plus the Classic Space Pack which was released in July. The digital version, priced at $29.99, includes the base game with the DLC available separately on the eShop. Both premium DLC packs will be available on all other platforms.
Also available is a free game update which adds a host of exciting new features to make building and exploring easier and more fun. Aspiring directors can now create their own thrilling action sequences with the Camera Car, a vehicle that can be utilized by either one or two players. It is everything a player would need to set up epic action sequences or possibly re-create favorite movie scenes.
The game update adds new tools such as The Planner designed to build LEGO structures faster. Players can use the various materials and pre-built wall types to get their new buildings underway with ease. Existing tools have also received significant upgrades to maximize players enjoyment within the game. The Discovery Menu has revised search functionality making it easier for players to find what they are looking for, while new shapes in the Landscape Tool improve how players edit their Worlds. There are also major updates to the Copy Tool, Galaxy Map, Waypoints and other features enhancing the overall LEGO Worlds experience.
LEGO Worlds, a galaxy of imaginative worlds made of digital LEGO bricks where players can explore, discover and create together, is currently available for PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, STEAM, and Nintendo Switch.
This is something that fell off my radar during the past weekend. After the successful launch of this year’s LEGO TRU Bricktober Minifigures, Toys R Us officially concluded this year’s Bricktober promotions with a build and take home event last Saturday at all local TRU stores in the US. KFOLS had the chance to build and bring home a brick-built mini version of one of Star Wars favorite droids, none other than BB-8.
If you missed out this event, and wish to try your own mini BB-8, then you’ll be glad to know that the instructions to build this miniature droid is now available online courtesy of The Brick Fan. You may download the building instructions directly as a PDF file and see if you have the necessary parts to build it, or you may just click on the images below.
Frankly, this particular build is not really that impressive. Pardon me, but I can’t help but think that it actually ended up looking like a roll-on… lol! I feel that BB-8’s head section can be improved even with very limited parts. Here’s how the final build looks like, with photo credits to Rebel Scum.
But who am I to complain, it’s free LEGO after all – and any free LEGO is always a good catch.
If you’re living in the UK and you’re holding on to those LEGO purchases over at shop.LEGO.com, then today might be the best time to hit that add Checkout button. As Brickset noted, there are currently three LEGO freebies (with qualifying purchases) up for grabs right now at LEGO’s UK online shop.
LEGO Juniors Racer (30473)
This polybag comes free with any purchase of LEGO Juniors set until November 12. The LEGO Juniors Racer (30473) polybag comes in 30 pieces and a racer minifigure.
LEGO Seasonal Christmas Build-Up (40253)
This year’s 24-in-1 seasonal set comes free for any LEGO purchase of £60 until November 22. Coming in at 254 pieces, the LEGO Seasonal Christmas Build-Up (40253)offers 24 different mini-builds, though not all of them can be built simultaneously.
LEGO Exclusive VIP Set (40178)
Perhaps this is the best freebie of all, currently offered to all LEGO VIP members. But you have to hurry, because this offer is valid only until today. As of this posting, the LEGO Exclusive VIP set (40178) is still available via shop.LEGO.com for every minimum purchase of any LEGO products worth £100 and above. The LEGO Exclusive VIP set is a rehash of 2014’s similar promotional, the LEGO Brand Retail Store (40145). However, I must say that I like the most recent one better in terms of design and aesthetics. If you’re a LEGO VIP member and wish to bring this one home, today is the last day for you to catch this one.
It’s always an inspiring moment whenever a toy line decides to honor a real person by having a toy crafted in his or her image. In fact, LEGO is one of the leading toy brands in giving out these tributes for some of the pioneering figures of our history.
LEGO has been offering sets that seeks to inspire young minds to pursue careers in science and technology based on the accomplishments made by the most brilliant minds in science. The latest LEGO Ideas set seems to be a shoutout to previously released ones under the same theme: the first being the NASA Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity Rover (21104), and the other as a tribute to women in the STEM careers which is the Research Institute (21110). This time around, the LEGO Ideas: Women of NASA (21312) is the next building set in the LEGO Ideas line that pays tribute to the invaluable contributions made by the most outstanding female scientists in the field of space exploration.
The Women of NASA (21312) set is the brainchild of science writer AFOL Maia Weinstock (aka 20tauri over at the LEGO Ideas website). After gaining the much coveted fan support and approval of the LEGO Review and Design Teams, this set is now a reality and is slated to be released to the public on November 1st.
The Women of NASA concept was Weinstock’s second attempt to submit an original project for LEGO Ideas that depicts women empowerment, the first being a fan submission that shows real-life women Supreme Court Justices which she aptly titled Legal Justice League – Women of the Supreme Court in LEGO. However, the LEGO Ideas Review Team declined to give it the green light for reasons that it is against LEGO’s policy of depicting any person in the government, or of politics, political symbols, campaigns or movements.
Though Maia’s first original fan submission was turned down, the approval of her second one is in itself a source of inspiration. The LEGO Ideas Women of NASA (21312) is perhaps a step further in shattering the age-old stereotype that building bricks and careers in STEM are simply just for boys. True, LEGO has delved with ideas of offering sets primarily for girls such as the Friends and Elves themes, but having the LEGO Ideas Women of NASA is a step further in teaching young, aspiring female scientists that being exceptional in the field of sciences is not determined by one’s gender.
Included in the LEGO Ideas: Women of NASA (21312) set are minifigures of software engineer Margaret Hamilton, who designed the Apollo spacecraft computer software, Hubble Space Telescope head planner Nancy Roman, and astronauts Sally Ride and Mae Jemison.
Their respective display cases show props such as Hamilton’s pile of Apollo computer source code books, a model of the Hubble Telescope for Roman, and a scale space shuttle for Ride and Jemison.
Set 21312 comes in a sturdy box while the building manual also includes biographies of the famous NASA women. All minifigures have detailed clothing detail and dual printed heads. It’s a must-buy and build for history-buff LEGO collectors.
The LEGO Ideas Women of NASA (21312) is a 231-piece set retailing for $25, and will be available to all by November 1st at all LEGO Brand stores and via shop.LEGO.com.
So what do you think brick fans, will you pick this one up once it hit shelves on November 1? Let us know in the comments below.
This is a very unexpected announcement from LEGO. A few moments, LEGO’s official social media accounts (via Facebook and Twitter to be exact) uploaded a teaser video that announces the return one of the largest LEGO set ever created. In the video, you can see LEGO Designer Jamie Berard doing a heist inside the recently opened LEGO House in Billund. His goal: to nab the brick-built version of the Taj Mahal and bring it to the masses once again. Here’s the video in case you haven’t seen it yet.
Having dethroned by this year’s UCS Millenium Falcon (75192) from its top spot as the largest LEGO set ever produced, does not necessarily mean that the brick-built architectural wonder is no longer popular. As mentioned, the LEGO Creator Expert Taj Mahal (10256) is a relaunch of 2008’s original model (the LEGO Creator Taj Mahal 10189) coming in at 5,923 pieces. It is expected to retail for $369.99 ($70 more as compared to the original 2008 version) and will be available on Nov. 27 just in time for Cyber Monday. Basically, since it is a re-release, it is expected to be the exact same copy of that from 2008, save for its rehashed box art. Here’s the rest of the set’s official images followed by its product description.

After the official announcement that LEGO will launch a handful of tie-in sets for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom due to be released on April, 2018, we now have pieces of info that may suggest how this highly anticipated theme will take shape.
A quick browse over at Brickset’s database will show how LEGO intends to package the entire theme, which is expected to be represented across the Juniors and Duplo lines as well. As it seems, we have three (3) Juniors sets, two (2) Duplo sets, and five (5) regular LEGO sets that will be tied-in with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

A few days ago, Dutch LEGO fan site, Bouwsteentjes shared some insider info on how the regular LEGO Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom sets may look like. Without being much of a spoiler, these initial descriptions gives us a glimpse of how these sets will fare, and what new figures and features we can expect. Here’s some rough translation as provided Jurassic World fan site, Jurassic Outpost. Take note that this only include set numbers 75926 to 75929, and may change anytime depending on LEGO’s fine-tuning.
LEGO Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (75926); priced @ 24.99 EUR A set containing a blue-grey 4×4 vehicle with a Pteranodon. There is one minifigure in the set.
LEGO Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (75927); priced @ 39.99 EUR Looks like the Jurassic World Raptor Escape (75920). The difference is that the set looks more like a residence instead of a cage. The walls are high and there’s some kind of stage on which a minifigure can stand. Looks like it only contains one raptor and two minifigures in the set.
LEGOJurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (75928); priced 59.99 EUR A set with a helicopter, which, from what we can take from the picture, can capture a dinosaur from the air. The dino most likely being a raptor. Also a small vehicle is included, probably a quad. Number of minifigures, unknown.
LEGOJurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (75929); priced 79.99 EUR This is a more expensive set, containing a big transport truck, like seen in Jurassic World: Raptor Rampage (75917), a gyrosphere, a tower with grapple hook and a T-Rex. The number of minifigures is uncertain, but it looks to be 4.
So what do you think about these sets? Honestly, it seems that LEGO’s choice of dinos in these sets sounds more like a rehash of previous ones. However, if you’re a fan of raptors, these sets will certainly not disappoint. We just have to wait and see until the big reveal sometime in April 2018.
Markus Rollbühler creates an absolutely stunning medieval school which is jam-packed with loads of detail and unusual parts usages. The ‘Royal Academy’ is part of a forum based RPG world called ‘The Nine Kingdoms.’
But even without knowing the characters and history, this building has a visual story unto itself. I would be hard pressed to point out all of the imaginative connections and NPU (Nice Parts Usage), but note a couple of them like the hockey sticks and baseball bats.
Even the color blocking grants this temple of knowledge a warm cozy vibe. This is the kind of place you could spend long late hours reading scrolls by candle light.
I wrote about the LEGO promotions outlined in Target’s 2017 Toy Book Ada few days ago, so it’s quite well known that certain LEGO giveaways are free to snag on certain days of late October and most of November.
The first wave of these freebies, available from October 29 to November 4, is a particularly uncommon item off the merchandising of The LEGO Batman Movie. I am, of course, talking about the Kiss Kiss Tuxedo Batman (5004928) keychain, something of an elusive find for LEGO fans of both the superhero and the film.
It’s so easy to like the Kiss Kiss Tuxedo Batman. After all, it’s pretty much Bruce Wayne in a white tux who just slapped on his Bat cowl while forgoing the rest of the costume, and the lipstick marks all over his clothes are a send-up of sorts to the various female characters in his universe who have fallen for him. In the present DC Comics run, he and Catwoman are planning to marry (again). But I digress.
When The LEGO Batman Movie came out, this LEGO keychain was an exclusiveon Cinemark Theaters that showed the film, and nowhere else. It’s therefore a big balm to dedicated collectors that Target is taking a turn in giving them out. Guests need only a minimum $30 purchase of any LEGO Batman Movie merchandise to have their very own Kiss Kiss Tuxedo Batman keychain. It’s as simple as that. The best part of it is that Target shoppers can also simply buy the item directly on Target online without the qualifying $30 purchase.
Please take note that as of this writing, Target’s webpage referring to the Kiss Kiss Tuxedo Batman is currently unavailable. We don’t know exactly what are the reasons for its unavailability, or if it was posted by accident and therefore taken down, but the obvious thing is, there is a dedicated page for it and we as well hit that refresh button every now and then. We just have to see in the next few days if this page will be updated.
For now, it’s nice to know that this elusive TLBM minifigure keychain is still available for latecomers, and is something that LEGO has made available for everyone.
In our last leg of new 2018 LEGO sets to be officially revealed today, and hot on the heels of the latest 2018 City and Creator sets that were unveiled earlier, we now have five (5) more sets added to the roster of the LEGO Technictheme. I’m not an avid fan of the Technic line, especially with its oversaturated vehicle builds. However, I have to say that I am impressed with the Racing Yacht (42074) and the mechanics of its steering mechanism.
I’m also curious how the WHACK! (42072) and BASH! (42073) are designed since they seem to complement each other. Here’s the rest of the images. We’ll update you as soon as more official images are uploaded via LEGO’s servers.
