LEGO is now warming up for its annual Black Friday deals with the official reveal of the new seasonal LEGO Charles Dickens Tribute (40410) set. LEGO Shop@Home has been updated to now include its holiday-inspired LEGO VIP freebie that honors the legacy of the master storyteller in the person of Charles Dickens. Check out the images below.
LEGO Charles Dickens Tribute (40410)
333 pieces | valued at $22.99 | to be given away for free to LEGO VIP members from November 21-22, 2020 with a qualifying purchase, and while supplies last.
Coming in at 333 pieces, this set is scheduled to be offered to all LEGO VIP members that will make their next LEGO purchase during the abovementioned weekend, both online and in LEGO brand stores. For a single receipt purchase of any LEGO products worth $150 and above, you’ll have this freebie automatically added to your cart. Additionally, you’ll get double LEGO VIP points for your purchases during these dates as well.
As a fan of seasonal brick-built vignettes such as 2018’s LEGO Christmas Gift Box (40292), I love the concept of these seemingly 2-in-1 builds that also doubles as a popular holiday symbol. The build itself depicts the author’s famous novel A Christmas Carol and features three minifigures: Tiny Tim, Bob Cratchet, and Ebenezer Scrooge. As Brickset’s review has pointed out, it seems that LEGO has taken an extra mile in offering these minifigures in a promotional item. We have a new printed minifig face used for Mr. Scrooge, while the printed torso used for Bob is a relatively new one. Being a freebie as it is, and though as much as I would prefer that printed parts were used for the book’s title and decorations, I guess I have no qualms over the set’s abundance of stickers.
Again if you want to bag this VIP promotional LEGO Charles Dickens Tribute (40410) considering that its availability is very much limited, be sure to schedule your next LEGO purchase from November 21-22. I’ll be updating this post once the LEGO Customer Service portal has uploaded the building instructions for this set.
Earlier today, the LEGO Group has officially announced its second wave of Nintendo-inspired interactive building sets. Its new LEGO Super Mario 2021 sets will launch on January 1, 2021, and will be consisting of a new Maker Set, three Expansion Packs, two, Power-Up packs and an entirely new line of Character Packs to collect.
I like the concept behind the LEGO Super Mario Master Your Adventure maker set. It functions as a sort of creative toolbox, together with its Customization Machine. It allows children (and adult fans alike) to include additional responses to the main LEGO Super Mario figure, thanks to the Maker Set’s new special bricks and Start Pipe.
The new expansion and character packs also include additional brick-built Super Mario characters not seen before in its first wave LEGO Super Mario offerings. I love how the Tanooki Mario costume turned out, while the second wave of Character Packs from this offering will surely pass as a great collectible in this series.
The relatively new LEGO Super Mario theme has expanded significantly since its introduction early this year. As of to date, the theme already has more than 25 sets under its belt and still counting.
For more info, you may check out LEGO’s official press release right here. I’ll update this post once their respective links go live over at LEGO Shop@Home. In the meantime, check out the following product images below for these new LEGO Super Mario 2021 sets, and let me know what you think of them in the comments below. These sets and much more are expected to be available globally across all LEGO brand stores, selected retailers, and online on January 1, 2021.
Shortly after announcing its largest LEGO set to date, LEGO has published an accompanying designer video for the mammoth-sized LEGO Creator Expert Colesseum (10276). LEGO Senior Designer Rok Kobe shows the creative process and intricate details behind the largest LEGO set of all time. Watch this.
Coming in at 9,036 pieces, the LEGO Creator Expert Colesseum (10276) is now the largest LEGO set ever created even taking away the title from the LEGO Star Wars Millenium Falcon (75192) in terms of piece count. Retailing for $550, the set will be available worldwide starting November 27, 2020, in all LEGO brand stores and online at LEGO Shop@Home. Here’s the official press release from The LEGO Group in case you want to take a look.
BEHOLD THE MAJESTY OF THE ROMAN COLOSSEUM, NOW IN YOUR LIVING ROOM
The largest LEGO® brick set created to date will be available from LEGO Retail Stores and LEGO.com from 27th November
Billund, November 13th, 2020: This Black Friday, LEGO® fans can take home a piece of history and re-create Rome’s most iconic landmark, with the awe-inspiring new LEGO Colosseum set. Made up of 9,036 pieces, this is not only the largest LEGO brick set launched to date (taking the title from the LEGO® Star Wars™ Millennium Falcon) it’s also been expertly designed to mimic the incredible architecture of the original Roman amphitheater, making it a building project to savor and a set to marvel at.
Both LEGO fans and History buffs need to look no further than their living room to experience a taste of Italian history, as this LEGO brick model is a truly authentic LEGO brick recreation of the mighty Colosseum – featuring many true-to-life details to help builders accurately bring this famous building to life. This epic LEGO model features a recreation of the three distinct stories from the Colosseum, with each of these stories adorned with the columns of the Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian orders. These columns have been faithfully recreated in LEGO brick form using a variety of creative building techniques, including decorative volutes that have been created using a recolored LEGO roller skate element that has been turned upside down to create an authentic look.
Every detail of the set has been meticulously crafted to stay true to the real-life Colosseum – including having 80 ‘ribs’ in the spectator stands (the same number as the original) and having three different shades of brick to replicate the different columns and aging of the almost 2,000-year-old landmark. The build experience has even been expertly created to match the same process as the original, with the “wooden” LEGO arena being the last build to be placed on the LEGO model, as it has been in the 1990s. As well as being a challenging build, this model is truly a breath-taking focal point for any room. The LEGO Colosseum rests on an oval base, allowing this phenomenal 360-degree display piece to be shown off from any angle. Builders can then choose which side of this magnificent LEGO Brick recreation of one of Rome’s most visited landmarks they display – whether that’s the southern side of the building, which has been destroyed by various earthquakes and natural disasters over the years, or the more complete northern wall. Colosseum features arches, that have been recreated with LEGO brick detailing, allowing a view into the center of the Colosseum from the outside, just like its real-life counterpart.
The set was designed by Rok Zgalin Kobe who commented:
” One of the biggest challenges and one of the most important things was to convey the Colosseum’s monumentality in the LEGO form. I felt that the LEGO model should display a special architectural feature of the original – the rows of columns flanking the arches in different styles. To achieve that, the model is constructed using the effect of vertical exaggeration. The cross-section is therefore far steeper than on the real structure. Hopefully, people will be inspired to learn more about the original through the experience of building the LEGO model.”
The LEGO Colosseum measures over 10.5” (27cm) high, 20.5” (52cm) wide, and 23.5” (59cm) deep making this a spectacular centerpiece for any LEGO brick collection.
The set will launch on 27th November, on Black Friday, as part of the LEGO Stores and LEGO.com Black Friday offerings. LEGO VIP members who purchase the exclusive model during the Black Friday Cyber Monday weekend will receive a limited-edition gift with purchase, a Roman Chariot, which can be displayed alongside the Colosseum. Shoppers can sign up for the VIP Program free either in-store or online. Included in the Black Friday promotions are a range of other deals including an exclusive Charles Dickens tribute gift with purchases over £150, a Holiday Tree gift with purchases over £40, discounts on selected items, a chance to win 1,000,000 VIP points, and exclusive VIP rewards launching throughout the weekend!
LEGO Colosseum will be available directly via LEGO.com and LEGO Stores from 27th November.
LEGO has released an accompanying designer video that shows us the many intricate details and cool, hidden features that comes with the now available, LEGO Batman 1989 Batwing (76161). Senior LEGO Designer Adam Grabowski gives us a closer look at what we can expect from this premium collectible set. Watch the video below.
Similar to last year’s LEGO Batman 1989 Batmobile (76139), the Batwing takes its cue from Tim Burton’s late 80s vision of the Dark Knight and gives it a LEGO twist that fans can clearly identify. Coming in at 2,363 pieces this accurate, centerpiece brick rendition of the 1989 Batwing is the first model to be capable of being displayed as a wall-mounted set. Thanks to a new wall hanger element that was first introduced in the LEGO Art theme, this version of the LEGO Batwing can be securely mounted on a wall despite its massive size and weight. According to Adam, this particular Technic piece is also quite concealed within the build which also prevents the set from accidentally slipping or dropping from its mount giving it an impressive, seamless display.
This new Technic piece, a wall hanger element 6302094, allows the LEGO Batman 1989 Batwing (76161) to be securely mounted on a wall.
The set also comes with an info plate and three limited-edition minifigures: Batman and his exclusive one-piece rubber cowl and cape, a mime version of the Joker, and Lawrence the Boombox Goon. Other than last year’s Batmobile (76139), this minifigure version of the Caped Crusader can only be found in this 18+ set, giving it a more exclusive feel.
The LEGO Batman 1989 Batwing (76161) is currently available for $199.99 over at LEGO Shop@Home and in your nearest LEGO brand store. Check out the set’s official product description below. A blue horse! A hotdog tree! A Hulkbuster in your living-room! Hold on –what did grandma say just now!? It’s the 2020 LEGO holiday season ad 🎄#RebuildTheWorldpic.twitter.com/4tzoRLEwj2
Set to the tone of Louis Armstrong’s iconic song, What a Wonderful World, this latest LEGO #RebuildTheWorld campaign, becomes even more relevant today considering that most of the world is now confined indoors due to the coronavirus pandemic. New LEGO® campaign sees children from around the world rebuild the Holidays
Billund, November 2nd, 2020: A new playful Holiday campaign from the LEGO Group celebrates the magic of the everyday as experienced by children through LEGO® play. The campaign showcases families coming together and experiencing the joyful, humorous adventures that children create and explore as they build, unbuild, and rebuild with LEGO products.
The LEGO system has long been the ultimate platform for creative expression and creative problem-solving. Children can build anything they can imagine, before taking it apart and building a new story, developing creative confidence and resilience that 9 in 10 parents say will help their child be successful in later life(1).
The new creative is part of the company’s Rebuild the World brand campaign. It journeys through a whimsical adventure created by families building and playing together in a world that only LEGO play could create. Every story, animal, and vehicle in the fun-filled celebration of children’s creativity is based on existing LEGO products; princess knights calm dragons, astronauts celebrate their marriage with dinosaurs and giant chicken, and a Star Wars™ AT-AT™ takes a nap mid-crusade.
The playful storyline is set to a bespoke reimagining of ‘What a Wonderful World’ remastered to celebrate the optimistic outlook of children. The instrumental was recorded with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.
Families will also be able to listen to Spotify-curated playlists inspired by some of their favorite hobbies, interests, and themes from the campaign as they explore LEGO building together. Examples include a galaxy-transporting LEGO Star Wars™ playlist, an adrenaline-fueled list inspired by vehicles, and a collection of music for animal lovers.
The holiday campaign was created by the LEGO Group’s internal agency, the LEGO Agency. The fully integrated global campaign will run across a variety of channels including TV, digital, Spotify, out of home, e-commerce channels, and in LEGO stores.
The film was created by a multi-award-winning team including direction by The Bobbsey Twins from Homicide, production by BLINK, and post-production by Framestore London. Shoppable formats will be used to help parents easily purchase LEGO products that inspire children in the advert.
LEGO servers are now updated to include the November 2020 LEGO Store Calendar, giving us a glimpse of things to come in your nearest LEGO brand store. As the LEGO Group gradually resumes operations of all of its stores, we can still notice the lack of in-store building activities that the stores used to have. Despite these limitations, there are still plenty of reasons to visit (following health safety protocols in your area, of course) your fave LEGO Store and to check out the freebies that they have in store for next month. Take a look at next month’s LEGO Store promotional calendar below. You may also download a PDF copy of this LEGO promotional calendar right here.
The LEGO 1989 Batwing (76161) Takes Center Stage

This rare minifig first appeared back in 2016 as a raffle prize during the grand opening of the LEGO Leicester Square brand store in London. Back then, only a total of 275 pieces were given away to walk-in customers who visited the store in its opening. Fast-forward to 2020, you may use your 50 VIP points if you wish to try your luck in bagging this exclusive, starting November 9 until 29. Remember, no purchases necessary to join the LEGO VIP minifigure sweepstakes.
Other things worth noticing in the November 2020 LEGO Store Calendar is the official announcement of this year’s LEGO Black Friday Sale. The highly anticipated annual LEGO sale event will happen from November 27 to 30. Stay tuned for more updates on the hottest LEGO sets that will go on sale during this promo period.
Finally, you may also mark your calendars on November 17 for the official launch of the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special, which will begin streaming over at Disney+ starting on this date. This animated Holiday Special directly follows the events in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. We find Rey embarking on a time-spanning adventure that will allow her to meet some of the iconic characters in the entire Star Wars saga. It will be an interesting mash-up of all LEGO Star Wars characters wrapped around that LEGO holiday humor.

Build the LEGO® Elf Club House and Bring the Magic of Christmas Into Your Home
The latest set in the LEGO® Holiday collection the Elf Clubhouse is a delightful addition to any holiday display, available from LEGO Retail Stores and LEGO.com from the 23rd of September
BILLUND, September 21, 2020: Experience the magic of Christmas this holiday season and discover the quaint cottage that is home to Santa’s Elves, with the latest LEGO holiday set – the LEGO® Elf Clubhouse. Jam-packed with seasonal touches, the LEGO® Elf Club House allows families to escape the chaos of the holiday season, immerse themselves in the fantasy world of the holiday season and create a new festive building tradition.
The LEGO Elf Clubhouse is a truly magical set, with festive features which offer a glimpse into the everyday lives of Santa’s little helpers – including a waffle machine to help them refuel after a long day of toy making, a brick-built repositionable chimney, and even a ‘sleigh port’ to park the elf’s sleigh in, ready to load up with presents for adults and children alike.
This brand-new holiday set is the perfect festive family tradition and a way for families (naughty or nice) to enjoy the magic of the Holiday season and build together to bring their ultimate Christmas fantasy to life. Deck the halls with the LEGO® Elf Clubhouse Christmas Tree, which is brimming with colorful baubles, sneak under the Christmas tree a selection of toys and small gifts the elves have prepared for each other and watch Santa’s sleigh take off into the night sky with the telescope. You can even use the computer to track who has been naughty and who’s nice!
Once you’ve finished your DIY project, The LEGO® Elf Clubhouse, which measures at 8.5” (22cm) high and 5” (13cm) deep, makes a stunning display piece – with a LEGO light brick included in the set to help illuminate the festive scene. Add it to other sets in the LEGO Holiday collection, including the LEGO Creator Expert Gingerbread House and the LEGO Creator Expert Winter Village Fire Station to create a decorative festive display.
The Elf Club House is the latest creation from LEGO fan turned official LEGO designer, Chris McVeigh, whose personal passion project ‘Brick Sketches’ is now an official LEGO theme. Talking about the LEGO Elf Club House, Chris commented:
“It’s amazing to be able to turn my hand to such an iconic set of LEGO models – Holiday season has always been a special time for me and my family, so getting into the festive spirit always come easily when I’m designing (and if I ever struggle, putting on Walking In A Winter Wonderland always helps put me in the right mindset!). For the LEGO® Elf Clubhouse, I wanted to explore the world of Santa’s Elves and work out what they do after they’ve had a long day making toys, giving a glimpse into their secret world, whilst also creating an iconic holiday set that reflects the architecture of alpine chalets. There are so many brilliant pieces within this set, but my favorite piece is the reindeer, which is a brand new addition to this set – I like to call it Brixen! “
LEGO Elf Club House™ will be available directly via LEGO.com and LEGO Stores from 23rd September
1197 pieces | $99.99 | Early VIP Access on September 23, with a general release on October 1, 2020.
