The Bricklink Designer Program is back this year, with its first round of crowdfunding slated to kick off this July. Formerly known as the AFOL Designer Program when it was introduced in 2018, the Bricklink Designer Program brings together some of the best original brick-built creations from the LEGO fan community and seeks to gather the needed crowdfunding support to be mass-produced and duly recognized.
This year, due to the limitations brought about by the pandemic, three crowdfunding rounds have been introduced with the 2nd and 3rd rounds to happen in September and November respectively. And for this first round, there will be 7 projects to support and choose from starting July 1 until August 10. You may head over to Bricklink’s pre-order page to have a better look at these 7 projects, or you may check out the following images below to have an initial look. In case you want to vote or support a particular project that you see, just click on their respective links below. My personal favorite is JK Brickwork’s Pursuit of Flight, which also managed to receive 10,000 fan votes qualifying it for the Second 2019 LEGO Ideas Review Stage.
A new LEGO Marvel set is also arriving this summer following the trail of what LEGO has dubbed as its Infinity Saga subtheme. Thanks to Lukas from Stone Wars, we now have our first image of the new LEGO Marvel Bro Thor’s New Asgard (76200).
Shared by an eagle-eyed LEGO fan in Germany, this image was reportedly taken from a physical copy of the German LEGO product catalog, which gives us pretty clear details of what to expect from this next LEGO Marvel offering. This minifigure vignette-styled set replicates one of the lighter moments of MCU’s Endgame where we see a ‘gamer’ version of Thor that Rocket bluntly points out to look like melted ice cream. Thor is joined in by his long-time pals Kork and Miek in a video game session of Fortnite, and some bit of ranting against NoobMaster69. And true to its film counterpart, the set also features a slice of life in Thor’s New Asgard after the cosmic consequences of Thanos’ infamous Infinity War snap. As a fan of these vignettes, I love how this set comes in with plenty of details that reflect the events in the film. We have several pizza boxes lying around, beer kegs, and several random stuff scattered in the room that Thor and the gang hardly care for. Save for the TV set and console controllers of course. The set also comes with a sign that welcomes visitors to New Asgard, similar to what we see from that scene when Bruce Banner (Smart Hulk) and Rocket decide to pay a visit to the God of Thunder.
The LEGO Marvel Bro Thor’s New Asgard (76200) clocks in at 265 pieces and is expected to retail for 29.99 Euros or $30 when it arrives in August. As always, I’ll give you more updates once this set makes its appearance over at LEGO Shop@Home.
This LEGO Technic version of one of Ford’s famous pickup trucks comes in at 1,379 pieces and is expected to retail at $100 when it is introduced sometime in August or early October. Though this set is not yet officially listed at LEGO Shop@Home, Walmart’s following product description and images give us a pretty good grasp of what to expect from this set. I’ll update this post once this set is up at LEGO’s online shopping portal

The LEGO Store July 2021 Promotional Calendar has now been uploaded, with plenty of exciting promotional items to be offered next month. Front and center of next month’s calendar feature the upcoming LEGO Adidas Originals Superstar (10282), slated to be released on July 1st. Let’s take a close look at these promotional items.
Free LEGO Mini Adidas Originals Superstar (40486)
Promo valid from July 1 to 14, 2021
It’s great to hear that a smaller, more adorable version of set 10282 will be available in the form of a free LEGO Mini Adidas Originals Superstar (40486). The good thing is, it is not strictly offered as a tie-in freebie together with its larger cousin, but will be added to your cart automatically when your single-receipt purchase of any LEGO products reaches $85 and more, or while supplies last. Just be sure to avail of this promo right away starting July 1st since it is expected that this item will be quite popular among LEGO fans.
Free LEGO Charles Dickens Tribute (40410)
Promo valid from July 12 to 18, 2021
In a rather puzzling move, LEGO opted to return one of its seasonal offerings from last year. From July 12 to 18, LEGO fans whose qualifying purchase equals $150 or more will get a free LEGO Charles Dickens Tribute (40410) set. So in case you missed out on this promo last November, now is the best time to get this set. And if you will plan your next LEGO purchases accordingly, you may even land a chance of getting this set plus the LEGO Mini Adidas Originals Superstar (40486) July 12 to 15 (while supplies last of course).
Free LEGO Friends Emma’s Magical Box (30414) or LEGO City Skater (30568)
Promo valid from July 16 to 25, 2021
LEGO is offering a choose your gift promo for those who will make their next LEGO purchase from July 16 to 25. Qualifying purchase of any LEGO products worth $40 or more will qualify you to select one promotional item, a choice between the LEGO Friends Emma’s Magical Box (30414) or LEGO City Skater (30568). Any of these polybags is a great way to expand your Friends or City collection. And with a relatively low price point of $40, it’s a freebie that’s not hard to miss.
Free LEGO VIP Blue Key Chain (854090)
Promo valid from June 1 to December 31, 2021
First-time LEGO VIP members will be treated with their first LEGO VIP gift in the form of the exclusive LEGO VIP Blue Key Chain (854090). This offer is valid when you sign-up to become a VIP member online at LEGO.com throughout the 2nd half of 2021.
It seems that LEGO has invested a lot of these promotional items for July. And this is somewhat expected since there are plenty of new LEGO sets that were currently released. We have the LEGO Ideas Typewriter (21327) to give an example and the latest wave of upcoming LEGO Monkie Kid sets slated to be released in July. What is on your LEGO wishlist for next month? Let us know in the comments below.
The LEGO Store July 2021 Store Calendar has already been released online, and with it comes an exciting announcement of how you can get the LEGO Mini Adidas Originals Superstar (40486). If you recall, this collectible gift-with-purchase set has been spotted in LEGO’s designer video for the larger LEGO Adidas Originals Superstar (10282) set. Brickset also managed to do an early review of this miniature counterpart in case you want to take a look.
Not only does LEGO made the promotional item official by including the details on its next LEGO Store Calendar, we also have official pictures of this set published online.
Another good thing that we can expect is that unlike what was initially speculated, this GWP will not be strictly tied in together with its larger counterpart. Instead, this gift-with-purchase set will be added to your cart once your single-receipt purchase of any LEGO products reaches $85 or more. Personally, I’m glad that LEGO opted for this direction since I am personally looking forward to this cute little collectible rather than the larger set.
This LEGO Mini Adidas Originals Superstar (40486) promotional will be available at LEGO brand stores and LEGO Shop@Home from July 1 to 14 or while supplies last. So be sure to plan your next LEGO purchase this July if you want to bag this one.
LEGO has now uploaded the entire LEGO CON 2021 video over its YouTube, making it more accessible to fans worldwide. Billed as the ultimate online experience for LEGO fans everywhere, this is the LEGO Group’s very first live online streaming event that highlights some of its latest products, and a chance to interact with LEGO designers and other master builders.
The original video is still uploaded on the LEGO.com website as to where it is first streamed, and having it available over at YouTube allows more LEGO fans to relive the excitement of the event.
In case you missed the live-streaming event over the weekend, LEGO CON 2021 officially showcased the new LEGO Star Wars The Mandalorian sets expected to arrive in August, plus a poll for fans to decide a new LEGO Minecraft minifigure. It was also the opportune time to reveal a new LEGO Ideas set, inspired by the winner of the LEGO Ideas We Love Sports Contest.
Though I have to admit that I was expecting more from one of LEGO’s grandest events (for some reason, I can sadly hear Thanos’ voice in my head over and over again whenever I think of LEGO Dimensions – “no resurrections this time”). But regardless of my personal feelings towards it, I have to agree that LEGO CON 2021 is a great platform for LEGO to highlight its next line of product offerings. It may not meet everyone’s expectations, but the new and creative opportunities for LEGO fans and builders to connect and interact is a breath of fresh air especially in this time of the pandemic.
So what do you think of this first-ever LEGO CON 2021? What are you’re favorite highlights of the program? What do you wish could have been done better? Let me know in the comments below.
Last March, the LEGO Ideas We Love Sports! Contest has been concluded with 10 fan-chosen entries now vying to become the next LEGO Ideas set. And this time around, the LEGO Ideas Review Team has finally come up with a decision, revealing to us our next official LEGO Ideas set. A huge congratulations to fan builder Donát Fehérvári aka Constructions by Donat for his successful LEGO Ideas Foosball Table.
Here’s the LEGO Ideas Review Team’s official press release.
WE LOVE SPORTS CONTEST – REVIEW RESULTS
Following the live announcement on LEGO CON, we’re happy to share the results of the review of the We Love Sports contest.
Firstly, we just want to say thank you to all the participants of the contest who showed us all the different ways that LEGO fans interpret the theme of sports. It was really fascinating to see all that creativity.
Secondly, we’re excited to share that our review board did manage to find one design that convinced them to make a selection!
A massive congratulations to Donát Fehérvári aka Constructions by Donat, the 16-year-old Hungarian fan designer whose Foosball Table submission wowed both the fans through the fan vote but also our review board.
We look forward to bringing his concept to life as an official LEGO Ideas set for its timeless design, its joyful celebration of the game, and its ability to bring families and friends together for quality game-time!
We’re still working out the final product design, pricing, and availability for this set. We’ll share more on the LEGO Ideas blog when we get closer to launch.
The LEGO Ideas Foosball Table is the second fan-designed set to be accorded with this honor. Its predecessor, the LEGO Ideas Legendary Stratocaster, is still in the works and we hope to receive some updates about this upcoming set anytime soon.
LEGO Shop@Home has been updated once again, and this time around, their latest LEGO Super Mario Wave 3 sets have been officially revealed! There’s also been news of more Power-Up costume packs to complement this latest wave of offers, plus several expansion sets including the recently spilled Bowser’s Airship (71391).
And thankfully, LEGO has now given us an official reveal of these upcoming sets, with a release date of August 1st. You may also add these new LEGO Super Mario Wave 3 sets to your LEGO wishlist if you wish to keep these under your radar.
After their accidental reveal over at LEGO’s Japanese online catalog several weeks ago, LEGO has finally listed these new LEGO Star Wars The Mandalorian summer 2021 sets over at LEGO Shop@Home. These three new sets are all slated to be released in August and feature some of the Season 2 highlights of Disney+’s first successful Star Wars live-action series.
As of date, these leaves with seven officially revealed LEGO sets under the Mandalorian flag, plus one brick-built statue of Grogu as one of the series pivotal characters. We are still yet to see an official listing of The Mandalorian Forge (75319) over LEGO’s online shopping portal, though I suspect that it may follow anytime soon.
Check out their product descriptions below, and the official images that go along with them. Click on the following affiliate links below to know more. You may also add them to your LEGO Star Wars summer 2021 wishlist if you want to be notified and reminded on the day of their availability.
