One of the few things that caught my attention when the LEGO Catalog for the 2nd half of this year came out was one particular LEGO Speed Champion set that is slated to be released in August. And this time around, LEGO finally gave us a closer look at its new LEGO Speed Champions 1974 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.0 (75895) set. Check out these images, and read on for the set’s official description.
You may immediately notice that the new 1974 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.0 (75895) set is basically a rehash of last year’s Porsche 911 RSR and 911 Turbo 3.0 (75888), with the latter coming in at a cool, lime green color. Both of these models come in as exact replicas, with the newer version featuring an all-white build. It also features a new minifigure driver character that sports a leather jacket on top of a shirt that predominantly features the Porsche logo.
This latest LEGO Speed Champions set is expected to be available to the public beginning August 1, retailing for $14.99 USD. For the rest of the current LEGO Speed Champions sets, be sure to check back with LEGO Shop@Home and Amazon. Thanks to The Brothers Brick for the tip.

Barnes & Noble stores will be running a Make and Take building event on July 13 as promoted over at their website. LEGO fans who missed out on Indigo/Chapters Bookstore’s LEGO promotional building event in Canada last October will be glad to know that B&N will be running their own promo with a slightly upgraded LEGO Harry Potter Golden Snitch freebie.
Expect more info will come in as we approach the end of this month, especially if this event requires pre-registration. While waiting, you may want to check out Rebrickable’s version of this LEGO Harry Potter Golden Snitch and see if you have the parts needed to build it. There are no building instructions included but I guess its relatively easy considering that it only comes in at 35 pieces. Take note that this version was the one given away in Indigo Bookstores in Canada.
Giveaway on October 13, 2018 at Indigo/Chapters bookstores for launch of new Fantastic Beasts movie.
Be sure to check out the rest of LEGO Harry Potter summer 2019 sets that are both available at Barnes & Noble and at LEGO Shop@Home in July. Just click on the following links below to bring you at LEGO’s online shopping portal for each particular set. Thanks to The Brick Fan for the heads up.
During this month’s Father’s Day celebration, Toys R Us stores across Canada made this day extra special for AFOL dads through a LEGO Make and Take promotional. The freebie is an impressive 52-piece microscaled model of the iconic LEGO Star Wars X-Wing Trench Run.
However, if you’re not living in the Canadian region and you wish to try making your own remarkable microscaled model of this famous Star Wars scene, then fret not. Thanks to Instagram user officejedi who shared some images of this build’s parts and finished build, we now have an idea on how this can be built using the LEGO pieces that may just be lying at our home.
But in case you find it hard to make sense out of this chaos of LEGO pieces, then you’ll be glad to know that the good ‘ol builders over at Rebrickablehave reversed engineered this set and has now provided the building instructions and parts list in creating this LEGO Star Wars X-Wing Trench Run microscale build. You may access and download the pdf file for these instructions right here. Alternatively, you may view these instructions below. These parts are pretty common so you can easily build this classic, micro X-Wing with parts that you may already have.

We’re still several months away before we finally see on toy shelves the latest LEGO Technic sets slated for summer. And if in case these impressive sets are not enough to fill your LEGO Technic collection, then LEGO still has a huge surprise in store for us this year. Thanks to online toy retailer Smyths Toys, we now have a glimpse of the LEGO Technic Land Rover Defender (42110) building set. As tipped by Brickset, this massive Technic set takes it cue from the still to be revealed, next-generation Land Rover Defender.
Perhaps similar to its marketing approach with the Bugatti Chiron, LEGO is expanding its partnership with Land Rover to translate in LEGO form the latter’s next-gen models. However, the reveal seems to be unintended since Smyths Toys have taken down their LEGO Technic listing prior to this post.
The LEGO Technic Land Rover Defender (42110) comes in at 2,573 pieces and measures at 42cm long and 22cm high. It is expected to retail for 159.99 USD once it arrives in LEGO Stores locally presumably in August or September. Here’s the set’s unofficial product description as lifted from Smyths’ online portal.
This collectible model of the Land Rover Defender really captures the vehicle’s level of refinement with its clean, modern lines and sculpted surfaces, making it a great display piece for the home or office. Developed in partnership with Land Rover, this building toy has working steering, 4-speed sequential gearbox, All Wheel Drive with 3 differentials, independent suspension, detailed in-line 6-cylinder engine and a working winch.
For the rest of the LEGO Technic sets that are currently available, be sure to visit shop.LEGO.com for more details.

If you recall earlier this month, gaming giants Activision and Blizzard confirmed that they intend to continue their collaboration with LEGO to come up with new LEGO Overwatch sets for 2019. The reveal was made during this year’s Nuremberg Toy Fair back in January, with these new LEGO Overwatch building sets labeled as sets 75976 and 75977 respectively. Thanks to a report from Promobricks, we now have an idea on when these sets will be released.
Promobricks was able to snap a photo of a physical LEGO 2HY 2019 Catalog, particularly on the page where the current LEGO Overwatch sets are located. What is interesting is that this physical copy of the German LEGO catalog indicates specifically an October release date, whereas this information is particularly omitted on its online catalog counterparts. More peculiar is the fact that the German online version was pulled out from LEGO’s servers which gives the impression that LEGO does not intend to reveal it yet.
We don’t have definitive info as of this posting on what these 2 new sets will be. But rumors circulating across LEGO fan communities suggests that sets 75976 and 75977 will be featuring brick-built versions of Wrecking Ball and the Junkertown Bike respectively. I guess its safe to assume that if in case these rumors turn out to be true, then we can expect to see minifig versions of Hammond (aka Wrecking Ball) and Junkrat, plus a bigfig counterpart of Roadhog.
Rumor has it that LEGO Overwatch set 75976 will feature a brick-built Wrecking Ball.LEGO Overwatch set 75977 is rumored to feature Junkrat and Roadhog in their Junkertown Bike.
We just probably have to wait until August to see our first official images of these new LEGO Overwatch sets. And for the meantime, if you haven’t added these to your LEGO collection yet, be sure to check out the full range of LEGO Overwatch sets at LEGO Shop@Homeor via Amazon.
Thanks to LEGO’s international catalog for the 2nd half of this year released online a few days ago, we had a glimpse of the three, new LEGO Minecraft sets slated to be released for August. Now thanks to Promobricks, we now have a closer look at these LEGO Minecraft summer 2019 official set images.
Read on for more details and visit LEGO Shop@Home for more updates about these sets. These LEGO Minecraft summer 2019 sets are not listed yet on LEGO’s online shopping portal, but we can assume that their database will include them very soon.

Following the reveal of probably the last LEGO Movie 2 summer 2019 sets through the online LEGO Catalog for the 2nd half of this year, we now have official images of these tie-in sets, courtesy of LEGO fan site StoneWars. Let’s take a closer look at these official set images. Please take note that these are the official names of these sets, while those that we initially posted are based on a rough Google translation.
The LEGO Movie 2 Good Morning, Sparkle Babies! (70847)
As I mentioned in a related post, we can fairly expect that the main selling point of this set are the two adorable Sparkle Babies. In contrast to their alter ego (aka Sewer Babies) as found in The LEGO Movie 2 Accessory Pack (853865), these Sparkle Babies are definitely a win for LEGO Movie 2 minifigure completionists. This set comes in at 50 pieces and is expected to retail for $10 USD.
The LEGO Movie 2 Systar Party Crew (70848)
Another expected must have is this party version of Benny which was initially spotted inside the LEGO House as a prototype in the development phase of The LEGO Movie 2. LEGO fans instantly fell in love with this party version of Benny, and the good thing is LEGO actually came up with this official set including this hip version of the beloved LEGO character. Coming in at 196 pieces, expect this to retail for 19.99 Euros or probably $20 USD locally.
The LEGO Movie 2 Wyld-Mayhem Star Fighter (70849)
Other than having a recolored version of Lucy’s minifig hair, this particular set also features Emmet with a new torso print is similar to that of Rex. If for some reason you haven’t seen the film yet, you are aware that Rex didn’t turn out to be the nice hero after all. The Wyld-Mayhem Star Fighter set sees the team-up between Lucy and Mayhem to thwart the selfish plans of Rex. This set comes in at 405 pieces and will retail for $50 USD.
Though these LEGO Movie 2 summer 2019 official set images are now circulating online, we still yet to see them at shop.LEGO.com. However, these sets are expected to be out in August so we can be sure that LEGO’s online shopping portal will be listing them soon.
