ICYMI: New LEGO BrickHeadz Minecraft Sets to be Released this April

In case you missed it, LEGO.com has been updated to include three new LEGO BrickHeadz Minecraft sets that you can add to your collection. Following the release of the new LEGO BrickHeadz Disney sets this March, it looks like fans of the BrickHeadz theme have more sets to expect this April.

This wave of new LEGO BrickHeadz Minecraft sets is quite overdue in my opinion. The last similar set that we have was way back in 2018 when we had our Steve and Creeper (41612) dual-pack. So it’s a very much welcomed decision from LEGO to now include not one, but three additional Minecraft characters added to the BrickHeadz roster.

It’s also nice to see that we finally have a brick-built version of Alex to complement our early version of Steve, plus a very colorful Llama as well. LEGO also seems to give this Minecraft Llama a very distinguished place in the collection considering that this is the 200th character given the BrickHeadz treatment. I do hope that these new LEGO BrickHeadz Minecraft sets come with a special commemorative brick or something.

Check out the official images of these new LEGO BrickHeadz Minecraft sets, together with their respective product descriptions. Each of these will retail for $10 and will be available in all LEGO Stores and online starting April 1, 2023.

LEGO Teases a LEGO Donkey Kong Set for MAR10 Day!

Following the unintended reveal of the LEGO Super Mario Dry Bowser Castle Battle (71423), it looks like LEGO is continuously building on the hype and excitement. Because as it turns out, it seems that LEGO is teasing a LEGO Donkey Kong reveal just in time for Nintendo’s MAR10 Day celebrations.

Shared by LEGO’s social media team via Instagram, LEGO is hinting that we might be seeing our very first LEGO Donkey Kong set just in time for MAR10 Day. Take a look.

LEGO Donkey Kong teaser

Along with a countdown timer, the imposing silhouette DK’s brick-built figure adds to the excitement of the MAR10 celebrations. Though I am excited about this first-ever LEGO Donkey Kong set, I have to say right off the bat that this may not be the usual LEGO 18+ set that adult LEGO collectors are looking forward to. There were confirmations already that there will be no LEGO 18+ sets to be revealed in conjunction with this year’s MAR10 Day celebrations. Furthermore, this brick-built rendition of Nintendo’s iconic video game character is a bit small given the LEGO elements and pieces that were used.

Whatever the case, as an avid Super Mario fan, I’m still excited to see what LEGO has in store for MAR10 Day. It’s just a matter of hours before the show begins over at LEGO’s official YouTube channel, so be sure to keep tabs on this and here on our blog site as well.

Here’s a First Look at the LEGO Super Mario Dry Bowser Castle Battle (71423)

Last week, Nintendo’s social media team was quite busy promoting this year’s grandest Super Mario celebration. Included in the announcement is a brief mention of yet another collaboration with LEGO. And this time around, we now have a visual confirmation of what this first collaboration is in the likes of the just recently revealed LEGO Super Mario Dry Bowser Castle Battle (71423)

Here’s a Look at the LEGO Dry Bowser Castle Battle 71423 Set

Coming in at 1,321 pieces this LEGO Dry Bowser Castle Battle set is expected to retail for $100 once it arrives in LEGO stores this month. Though it is a sizeable set as shared by Dylan Chow over Instagram, this is still not considered an 18+ set. Just a couple of days ago, The Brick Fan mentioned that this upcoming LEGO MAR10 celebratory set is not an 18+ or D2C set which usually appeals to adult LEGO fans in a similar vein to that of The Mighty Bowser (71411) from last year, the Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block (71395) from 2021, or the Nintendo Entertainment System (71374) from 2020.

Based on what we see from Dylan’s post, the Dry Bowser Castle Battle (71423), seems to be another expansion set that ties up with previous LEGO Super Mario sets in terms of functionality and course features. We even get to see a similar Purple Toad found in LEGO Super Mario Character Packs Series 5 (71410), a Bone Goomba from LEGO Super Mario Character Packs Series 2 (71386), and a new Bone Piranha Plant and Lava Blargg build as well. I also love the aesthetics of the castle’s chain while giving it the same vibe as that of Bowser’s Castle Boss Battle (71369).

The LEGO Super Mario Dry Bowser Castle Battle is expected to make its official debut any time soon once MAR10 Day celebrations are in full swing. As a final note, just2good over his YouTube channel also reports of another LEGO Super Mario that will happen alongside the reveal of the Dry Bowser Castle. It is anticipated that this will be our first LEGO Donkey Kong set and it’s exciting to see how LEGO will pull this out.

Be sure to keep in touch here on our blog site for more updates on these upcoming LEGO Super Mario sets.

What LEGO Super Mario Reveal is Waiting for Us on MAR10 Day?

March 10 is fast approaching, and if you’re an avid LEGO and Nintendo fan, then you’re most probably ready for MAR10 day fun this Friday. Because as it turns out, a LEGO Super Mario reveal may be on its way in conjunction with the most exciting Nintendo Day of the year.

Nintendo has just announced that there are going to be a ton of awesome activities and reveals happening during the much-anticipated MAR10 day. And according to Nintendo’s press release, LEGO is going to drop a special announcement on their YouTube channel on March 10 at 8 am PT. You may find a mention of this anticipated LEGO Super Mario reveal towards the end of Nintendo’s announcement.

For a full list of MAR10 Day activities, including special announcements from Nintendo’s partners at LEGO, First 4 Figures and PDP Promotions, please visit http://mario.nintendo.com.

I can’t help but speculate what LEGO has up its sleeves. Could it be LEGO sets for the upcoming Super Mario Bros. Movie? Or perhaps more expansion sets for the current LEGO Super Mario theme? Rumor has it that it is a larger LEGO Super Mario set that will be released later this year. As of now, the current title of being the largest LEGO Super Mario set is from last year’s The Mighty Bowser (71411).

LEGO Super Mario reveal
Will the next LEGO Super Mario reveal be larger than the current holder which is the LEGO Super Mario The Mighty Bowser (71411)? We just have to wait and see.

Whatever it is, I’m sure it’s going to be epic. So be sure to mark your calendars for March 10, 8 am PT. And while you’re at it, why not bookmark our blog site as well? Stay tuned!

LEGO Indirectly Confirms a LEGO Zelda Is Now in the Works

For the past three years, Nintendo and LEGO have been teaming up to create amazing sets that resulted in the creation of the successful and prolific LEGO Super Mario theme. They’ve been wildly popular among LEGO and Nintendo fans, with new ones coming out each year. The thing is, they’ve never really strayed from the whole Mario theme. But this may eventually change as rumors, leaks, and possibly an indirect confirmation from LEGO itself finally gives credence to the possibility that a LEGO Zelda is now on its way.

To be frank, this news is not entirely new. Because since the day that a cryptic Eurobricks member shared publicly that LEGO has been doing some secretive surveys on how much money will people actually spend on what seems to be upcoming LEGO sets, then more info about this potential LEGO Zelda started to take form.

LEGO has supposedly conducted surveys in the past, but this is the first instance where they have hinted at their interest in creating a LEGO Zelda set. It is uncertain whether they have obtained the license from Nintendo to do so, even if the rumor is true. Additionally, there is no guarantee that the leaked design will be the final product, as it could undergo significant changes.

Normally, this is the part where I normally say that you ought to take these rumors with a pinch of salt. However, knowing how protective LEGO can be with regard to its confidential sets and brand name, most of the time, it is through their own doing that an upcoming set may be indirectly confirmed.

Because as it turns out, YouTube channel Nintendo Prime eventually learned it the hard way when his channel became the target of the LEGO Brick Police as it issued a copyright takedown notice. The video in question (which is obviously taken down already) did not publish any photos, but instead just went on to describe how the initial leaks turned out. This is Nintendo Prime’s first copyright strike and those on YouTube (us included) know very well how nerve-wracking this experience is.

And as Nintendo Prime aptly puts it, such strict policing on LEGO’s part simply means that an upcoming LEGO Zelda set is actually imminent.

At this point, the leaks for this upcoming LEGO Zelda set are now out there in the wild so I will not go on to the details of describing it. However, what we can confirm is that it is a pretty large set clocking at 1,920 pieces. We don’t have a tentative release date as of press time. But we can somewhat assume that this set will be a part of LEGO’s H2 2023 releases or their June to December 2023 product launches.

Whatever the case is, I’ll keep our brick radars open for more info on this highly-anticipated LEGO Zelda set. So be sure to keep tabs on our blog site as well.

7 New 2023 LEGO Minecraft Sets Officialy Revealed

LEGO Minecraft fans will surely love this next piece of news. Because in case you missed it, LEGO.com has officially revealed its line-up of new 2023 LEGO Minecraft sets, scheduled to arrive online and in-store in January next year, alongside other licensed themes to be released at the sound of the first bell of 2023.

Personally, I’m glad to see that these new seven 2023 LEGO Minecraft sets show LEGO’s effort to somewhat balance their pricing while leaving more room for playability and aesthetics. This is crucial in my opinion since Minecraft is mainly a world-building game catered to younger video game players. It’s nice to see that even more than a decade since Minecraft once introduced, LEGO is staying true to form with regard to these play features and design.

Take a look at the following images, and be sure to click on their respective affiliate links if you want to know more, or add these sets to your LEGO wishlist this 2023.

Forza Horizon LEGO Anniversary Update Name-Drops LEGO In Honor of Past DLC

When it comes to videogames, LEGO’s got a solid standalone representation all its own. Look no further than the numerous WB-TT Games releases plus several console and mobile apps from various developer-publisher tandems. LEGO also has its fingers in collaboration with other game franchises. The most notable example of this would be in the Microsoft Windows/Xbox-exclusive racing series “Forza Horizon”. 2018’s “Forza Horizon 4” featured DLC of LEGO’s Speed Champions theme. LEGO versions of several cars, a separate campaign area built from LEGO bricks, “Everything is Awesome”, the works. The “FH4”-LEGO team-up was a big hit. And while the collaboration doesn’t return for last year’s “Forza Horizon 5”, there was a recent easter egg mention.

According to Brick Fanatics, a recent online update to Microsoft’s “Forza Horizon 5” added a cheeky shout-out to LEGO. This update, celebrating the “FH” franchise’s 10th anniversary, adds racing challenges calling back to past entries of the series. With the LEGO license already lapsed, Microsoft Studios couldn’t recreate the LEGO-brick environment of their “FH4” DLC. That didn’t stop them from having a character on “Forza Horizon 5” name-drop the toy brand mid-race. This was caught by game streamer Lost Phoenix Gaming, and was thus posted on their official YouTube channel.

Having LEGO pop in on a “Forza Horizon” game as DLC may have been a one-off. Still, the developers understood that many of their player fans enjoyed the moment while it lasted. Thus, we have the brief mention in their fifth game where nothing else LEGO was present. It does fire up the imagination, if Microsoft can partner with LEGO on another, future “FH” outing.
