LEGO Marvel Hulkbuster (76210) Officially Revealed

Earlier this week, an Indonesian-certified LEGO store put doubts to rest regarding a big LEGO Marvel set. Teased as early as last year, the rumored set would be a more extensive take on Iron Man’s Hulkbuster mecha armor. Keeping with this reissue, the new Hulkbuster would be marketed under the LEGO Marvel Infinity Saga sub-theme. We could think of this as the LEGO Marvel counterpart to LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series (UCS). With the reveal, it seemed a matter of time before LEGO officially chimed in on LEGO Marvel Hulkbuster (76210). And indeed, we didn’t need to wait.

As told us by Promobricks.de, LEGO Marvel’s Infinity Saga Hulkbuster (76210) now has a LEGO Shop online product listing. This veritable age 18+ LEGO set is a love letter to the Infinity Saga of the MCU film franchise. With its impressive piece count, collectors can expect plenty of action-posing fun accented by three light-up pieces. The IS Hulkbuster even comes with a Tony Stark minifig and specs plate, well worth the $549.99 asking price. LEGO Marvel 76210 is a must-have ahead of the Holiday season rush, thanks to its November 9 launch date. Without further ado, the product blurb:

LEGO Marvel Hulkbuster (76210)

LEGO® Marvel Hulkbuster (76210) captures the scale and power of the Hulkbuster MK44 from Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Age of Ultron. Standing over 20.5 in. (52 cm) tall and containing 4,049 pieces, this challenging and rewarding construction project is designed with adult enthusiasts in mind.

  • Collectible movie colossus – This 4,049-piece LEGO® Marvel Hulkbuster (76210) captures the scale and power of the Hulkbuster MK44 from Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Age of Ultron
  • Authentic details – The model incorporates 3 light-up arc reactors (1 in the chest and 1 in each hand), a fully jointed upper body and a spacious, opening cockpit
  • Combine with an Iron Man pilot – The cockpit is designed to hold the LEGO® Marvel Iron Man Figure (76206) – sold separately
  • A surefire conversation-starter – This display piece also includes an information plate that holds a Tony Stark minifigure carrying tools

Here’s a First Look at the New LEGO Marvel Hulkbuster (76210)

It can be surprising how long some LEGO-related speculative news and rumors could linger until substantiated or debunked. Just as 2021 ended, we heard of a possible LEGO Marvel set for 2022. It was supposed to be another take on the Hulkbuster, the mecha-sized add-on to Tony Stark’s Iron Man armor. This sweet machine was already LEGO-fied in 2018 as Hulkbuster: Ultron Edition (76105). Other rumors regarding this set were that it was actually the alternate Hulkbuster from Avengers: Infinity War. Now, thanks to a leak from Indonesia, we finally know that this will be the new LEGO Marvel Hulkbuster (76210)

Brickset tells us that a Certified LEGO Store in Indonesia just teased the box image for LEGO Marvel Hulkbuster (76210). Apparently, it’s indeed a new take on the earlier Hulkbuster (76105). Both are based on the add-on armor’s appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron from 2015. At age 18+, this set is massive at 4,049 pieces and 52cm tall when assembled. Since Infinity Saga is LEGO Marvel’s counterpart to LEGO Star Wars UCS, expect some sweet detail and features. Light bricks for the arc reactor and palm repulsors are just the beginning of it.

Like many huge mechanical LEGO sets, this latest brick iteration of the Hulkbuster comes with a specs plate and a Tony Stark minifig. While the Indonesian LEGO Store keeps mum on further product info, the latest rumors claim a $549.99 set price. The likeliest launch period would be the 2022 holiday season, but we have plenty of time to wait.

LEGO Sweeps Five Category Nominations for Toy of the Year Awards 2022

Many awards ceremonies follow the standard of holding themselves on an annual basis. This is reasonable considering that trends change year after year, and companies on average roll out different new products annually. But sometimes, there can be so many products worthy of nominations in a year for certain awards. In that case, why not hold more than one ceremony annually? That’s precisely what the Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards has done this 2022. There was one earlier this year, and a second awards program this month. As expected, LEGO has its own nominations, and won in multiple categories.

According to The Brick Fan, the second 2022 Toy of the Year Awards was held Tuesday, September 20. In this edition, LEGO secured nominations to five toy categories and won every single time. True, this is less than the nominations for the earlier 2022 Awards (that had eight). But who can say anything bad about a nomination sweep? Congratulations to LEGO for their triumph. We can probably count on the winning products to get a sales bump going into the Holiday season. Let’s review them:

Collectible of the Year

The Muppets CMF (71033)

71033 13

Construction Toy of the Year

LEGO Marvel I Am Groot (76217)

76217 1

Grown-Up Toy of the Year

Ideas The Office (21336)

21336 1

Playset Toy of the Year

Super Mario Adventures with Peach Starter Course (71403)

71403 1

Vehicle Toy of the Year

Technic McLaren Formula 1 Race Car (42141)

42141 1alt

In the earlier TOTY Awards 2022, LEGO won these same categories plus Preschool Toy, Specialty Toy and STEAM Toy. We can’t help but wonder if Toy of the Year will make this twice-a-year awarding schedule their new norm. If so, LEGO has twice the opportunities annually to impress the global toy community.

LEGO Marvel Black Panther (76215) “Wakanda Forever” Tie-In Now Listed

If you’ve been following our LEGO Marvel-related news, you’re aware that “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” is coming this November. You’d also know that this MCU film has some tie-in sets due to launch next month in October. It’s really the least that can be done to hype this movie. After all, it doubles as a tribute to the late Chadwick “T’Challa” Boseman. Now granted, the upcoming LEGO Black Panther tie-ins are a bit on the early-ages side. The same goes for the minifigure keychain. Fortunately, LEGO does have sets for Marvel-collecting AFOLs, as revealed just this week on LEGO Shop.

The Brick Fan true to form has the lowdown on this new “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” tie-in set. What can be a more epic tribute than a bust of T’Challa in costume, as depicted in Black Panther (76215)? The build even features his forearms in the now-iconic “Wakanda Forever” salute. Or alternatively, the arms are detachable so you can display only T’Challa’s head as a traditional (brick-built) bust. This is a magnificent 18+ addition to LEGO’s “BP:WF” merch, so mark your calendars for October 1. That should give collectors a month of building while waiting for the movie itself. And now, the LEGO.com product listing:

76215 alt3 76215 alt2

Adult fans of the Marvel Avengers can immerse themselves in a creative model-making project with LEGO® Marvel Black Panther (76215). This collectible celebration of Marvel Studios’ Infinity Saga will be a guaranteed conversation starter, wherever it is placed.

  • Black Panther display piece – Celebrate Marvel Studios’ Infinity Saga with this almost life-size LEGO® Marvel Black Panther (76215) build-and-display model for adults
  • Realistic details – The model rests securely on a stand with an information plate attached. The hands include articulated fingers and detach from the main model to increase display possibilities
  • Escape the everyday – As this construction project comes together piece by piece, it brings the style and spirit of the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the real world

Subtle Design Change in LEGO Marvel Black Panther Key Chain (854189)

MCU fans were saddened when actor Chadwick Boseman, start of “Black Panther”, died from cancer complications in 2020. It was a shock given that he kept his condition secret while starring in the film. And that doesn’t even include “Captain America: Civil War” plus “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Endgame”. The planned sequel, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, needed significant retooling in the wake of Boseman’s passing. It’s due to premiere next month, and with it are the expected merchandise tie-ins including from LEGO. One notable piece of merch is a minifigure keychain portraying the Black Panther. Close observation reveals some changes in this minifig’s design compared to previous LEGO Marvel versions.

As Brick Fanatics tells it, the upcoming LEGO Marvel Black Panther Key Chain (854189) has a seeming design alteration. All minifigs of King T’Challa of Wakanda have a masked head topped off with cat-like ears, In the previous versions the ears were swept back. One might see this in Black Panther Mech Armor (76204) and Shuri’s Lab (76212). The keychain minifigure however has the cat ears pointing forward. In fact, the ears might be mistaken for horns, particularly those worn by LEGO Daredevil. He’s one of the minifigures in the Daily Bugle (76178) last 2021.

Black Panther Key Chain (8514189)

Age 6+ | $5.99 | Coming October 1

Was this an assembly mistake or a deliberate choice? The former feels like a possibility. After all, both Black Panther Key Chain (854189) and Shuri’s Lab (76212) are coming October 1. They’re tying into the November release of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” after all. The discrepancy of the BP costume makes for a curious puzzle. It’s like the question regarding the identity of the new wearer of the suit in the film. Hopefully we’ll get some explanation for this mystery.

This week we got a sneak peek at the next new LEGO Marvel sets launching very soon. These three items take after the early-2022 Iron Man (76206) buildable figure, but focused on the “Spider-Man” character line. We have Germany’s JB Spielwaren retailer to thank for early images and info on the Spidey LEGO buildable figures. It still wouldn’t beat the official feel of LEGO.com putting up a product listing on their website though. And good thing they didn’t keep us waiting for much longer. Promobricks got the scoop on these three sets and now we’ll take a closer look ourselves.

JB Spielwaren Reveals Upcoming LEGO Marvel Buildable Figures of Spider-Man and More

In late 2021, when LEGO was beginning to tease its upcoming 2022 sets, their Marvel line had a surprise entry. The Infinity Saga Iron Man figure (76206) stood out quite nicely. After all, it contrasted the cartoony Mech Armor sets that were simultaneously revealed with it. The brick construction made LEGO Iron Man fully poseable. Not to mention being battery-powered so his Arc Reactor can light up. As the year passed it felt like 76206 might be the only release of its sort for 2022. Then Brickset caught wind of new similar sets being listed on a German online retailer.

We’ve encountered JB Spielwaren before on The Brick Show. When they showcase upcoming LEGO sets before LEGO does, they really grab attention. There are more LEGO Marvel buildable figures on the way, and this time they’re of a Spidey variety. That’s right; Spider-Man and Friends (well, a friend and frenemy) are getting the Iron Man (76206) treatment. Check out these dynamic figures. They’re perfect for rendering in LEGO’s buildable-figure system.

Miles Morales (76225)

Spider-Man (76226)

76226 1

Venom (76230)

76230 1

These LEGO Marvel Spider-Man figures look to be releasing in time to celebrate Spider-Man’s 60th Anniversary. Yep, our Friendly Neighborhood wall-crawler’s been protecting Marvel Comics New York for six decades. Marvel itself is hyping that milestone with the theme “Beyond Amazing”. And it shows in these LEGO tie-ins; they’re amazing like the comic-book legend they’re based on. Anyway, JB Spielwaren pegs these sets to release September. Now we wait for LEGO to confirm and show their product listings.

LEGO Marvel “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” Sets Now Listed Online

Marvel Studios had a heck of a challenge producing a sequel to “Black Panther” following lead star Chadwick Boseman’s death. Judging from the first trailer to “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” shown in SDCC 2022, they show great promise. And just as promising are the merchandise tying into this upcoming MCU blockbuster. LEGO as expected is not slouching on their tie-in sets. We got a glimpse of them from the LEGO.com Building Instructions page. Now, the LEGO.com Shop has got the official product listings up according to The Brick Fan, so let’s have a look now.
