The start of a new month usually means one thing on a LEGO news site. It’s LEGO set launch recap time! We’ve covered a wide selection of sets coming out this August 1 and it’s time to take a look back. You surely won’t be lacking in choices with these:
All items above were featured by us here on The Brick Show. And there are still more LEGO sets coming out later this month. We’ll do further mini-recaps of these when the right time comes.
MCU fans knew plans for a “Black Panther” sequel would be significantly affected by the death of star Chadwick Boseman. When Marvel Studios decided not to recast his lead role as T’Challa, the character’s plotline death became certain.
And the first trailer for “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” at San Diego Comic Con nailed that reality hard. Not even the reveal of classic comic super-character Namor could dampen the shadow of T’Challa’s/Boseman’s death. Well now, days after SDCC 2022 Marvel will try to add cheer to promoting “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”. How? By having LEGO tease the expected movie tie-in sets.
Granted, these aren’t full-on LEGO.com product listings yet. But thanks to Brickset we now have our first look at LEGO Marvel’s “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” releases. So far, the film tie-ins consist of three sets. These images popped up in the LEGO.com Building Instructions page. This has become a usual occurrence for some anticipated LEGO sets without online listings yet on the site. The “Wakanda Forever” sets feature sweet minifigs of MCU “Black Panther” characters both established and new. Shuri, Nakia and the Black Panther (suit?) are joined by antagonists Namor, Attuma and new heroine Riri Williams/Ironheart. Check out the sweet initial images as follows:
Shuri’s Sunbird (76211)
Shuri’s Lab (76212)
King Namor’s Throne Room (76213)
It may be a while before LEGO lists the official full details on their Online Shop. But already we estimate these LEGO Marvel tie-ins to launch this coming October. “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” itself premieres the following month on November 11, so it’s fitting.
You know the drill. Many LEGO sets teased over the past weeks and months finally appeared in LEGO Con 2022. Now all collectors have to do is wait out the remaining days until their official release. One of the biggest expected launches is definitely for LEGO Marvel. Indeed, the LEGO Marvel Doctor Strange Sanctum Sanctorum set of old (76108) has been given a massive makeover. This new set, numbered 76218, will arrive in the wake of MCU film “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”. True, the movie came out back in May. But the title’s in the box so that’s that.
Anyway, Promobricks tells us that like other LEGO Con reveals, the new Sanctum Sanctorum set (76218) is coming this August. This definitely is multitudes more awesome than the original 2018 version. Key characters from “Multiverse of Madness” are joined by other MCU regulars in this epic building/battle set. Our Doctor Strange must team up with Wong, Iron Man and Spider-Man against multiple threats to the Sanctum. Several alternates of Strange are just the tip of the iceberg. Mordo, Ebony Maw and a now-villainous Scarlet Witch will really make our heroes work for victory. And with that, here’s the product info:
Age 18+ | 2,708 pieces | 9 minifigures | $249.99 | Coming August 1
Capture the magic of Doctor Strange with the stunning LEGO® Marvel Sanctum Sanctorum (76218).
A celebration of Doctor Strange – LEGO® Marvel Sanctum Sanctorum (76218) is a 3-story, 360-degree, modular construction project for adult fans of the Marvel Universe
Iconic Marvel characters – The set includes Doctor Strange, Wong, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Ebony Maw, Master Mordo, Sinister Strange, Dead Strange and The Scarlet Witch minifigures
Realistic details – The model is filled with familiar features and authentic accessories from the Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness movies
Two Saturdays from now, LEGO will be kicking off its second ever LEGO Con. LEGO House in Billund will play host to a major live show event this coming June 18. As expected of cons, LEGO plans to make epic reveals of many upcoming products and sets. Some of these have been teased repeatedly over the past few months too. To give an example, LEGO Marvel collectors would still be waiting for the reported Sanctum Sanctorum revamp set (76218). While not mentioned specifically, this may be the subject of a new LEGO Con 2022 teaser.
The Brick Fan reports the official LEGO Twitter page posted a LEGO Con 2022 teaser this past Monday, June 6. Like we mentioned, it involves an upcoming LEGO Marvel set. And if you’ve no idea which Marvel franchise is involved, the preview graphics make it very obvious. The Marvel Studios logo and sling ring effects confirm the new LEGO Marvel set as for “Doctor Strange”.
Spoiler alert. LEGO® Marvel™ fans, keep this to yourself. Something exciting is coming your way at LEGO® CON 2022.
Moving on to speculation territory, it can only be the aforementioned Sanctum Sanctorum, magical home/HQ to Doctor Strange. Already done once in LEGO form (LEGO Marvel #76108), the new #76218 is believed to be bigger. We’re talking similar scale to the epic Daily Bugle (76178).
Sure, less than two weeks’ wait for LEGO to just reveal the thing can be trying for collectors’ patience. But at least we’ll be getting a definitive deadline for knowing more about LEGO Marvel Sanctum Sanctorium (76218). It all comes down to LEGO Con 2022, happening June 18. Live-streaming is available (for US, 12PM New York and 9AM Los Angeles). We’re sure more teasers are in store for the event so we’ll keep an eye out for more Con-related stuff.
The start of a new year and the holiday season are both primetime launch periods for LEGO sets. It’s the same deal for the beginning of summer, which falls smack-dab in the middle of the year. Specifically, that would be anytime from May to August if dividing a year into three. Already this week we’ve been getting word of the many LEGO sets making their debut on June 1. The reveals have been for all ages as expected. Speaking of ages, that rating would apply to the youngest builders too. So of course we’re getting new LEGO Duplo 2022 products headed our way.
Promobricks would have it that no less than nine Duplo sets are due to launch in mid-2022. According to them, this wave of new LEGO Duplo 2022 products also boasts a new color scheme for their box packaging. Now the new primary coloring has changed from green to white. In our opinion, the color change works great as it gives a “clean” look. One can also notice a common theme in the upcoming Duplo. Save for one set from early-age Marvel animation “Spidey and his Amazing Friends,” the rest feature animals. Duplo really rocks at depicting brick-buildable animals, as these LEGO.com listings show:
Age 2+| 41 pieces | 4 Duplo figures | $59.99 | Coming August 1

Just as LEGO looks towards the future with all-new sets, it continues to look back at the past too. Plenty of “new” sets announced by LEGO every year might be remakes of previous ones. How many LEGO Star Wars sets from years ago received a UCS revision already? And for LEGO Marvel, how many times did they reinterpret Tony Stark’s Iron Man armory across different sets? Around 2019-20 we got the Iron Man Hall of Armor (776125) and Iron Man Armory (76167), now both retired. And this 2022 LEGO’s giving that MCU locale yet another spin with the LEGO Iron Man Armory, as reported by Brickset.
Here we go again with a LEGO Marvel Iron Man Armory set, only this time numbered 76216. If you thought the armor slots from previous sets were limited due to being one level, try this version. It has two stacked rows for eight Iron Man armors, plus a workstation, tools, assembly pedestal, and sportscar. This set packs a Tony Stark/Iron Man minifig, accompanied by Pepper Potts, Nick Fury, War Machine, and “IM2” baddie Whiplash. The new Iron Man Armory (76216) is themed to the LEGO Marvel Infinity Saga line for set-piece compatibility. Here’s the official listing:
Age 7+ | 496 pieces | 8 minifigures | $89.99 | Coming June 1
Iron Man headquarters – Celebrate Marvel Studios’ Infinity Saga with the LEGO® Marvel Iron Man Armory (76216), packed with authentic details, features and minifigures
Marvel characters – Includes 8 minifigures: MK3, MK25 and MK85 Iron Man suits, Tony Stark, Pepper Potts, Nick Fury, War Machine and Whiplash
Realistic details – Familiar items from the movies include a sports car with Stark Expo model-map, a robot assistant arm, a work area with tools and loads of authentic accessories
It’s funny that LEGO revealed this set early this May, only to launch it next month. Still, which LEGO and MCU fan could say no to a new brick-built armor gallery for Tony Stark?
Hey there Brick Fans! Its great to be back here at TBS. Its been a rather long hiatus from my end, but hey I hope everyone’s doing well after all the craziness of this pandemic. Its also great to see that our love for the brick is still as strong as ever, and with the latest wave of LEGO Creator and City sets slated to be released very soon, there’s more reason to be excited. But while waiting for these latest LEGO releases, let’s dive in and see what Amazon LEGO deals are out there to keep us building through out the weekend.
I’ve compiled some of the most recently available Amazon LEGO deals that you can take advantage of today. So if you’re looking to add a few LEGO sets to your collection, or just want to pick up some badly needed bricks and accessories, then be sure to check out these deals! In no particular order, these sets are now available over at Amazon for up to 25% discount.
Just a quick note. By clicking on these affiliate links and making a purchase, TBS will earn a commission that helps support the site, and keep it running.
Better hurry if you want to have these sets added to your cart, since we don’t exactly know until when these Amazon LEGO deals will exactly last. Of course, you can still get them over at LEGO.com but if you want to save on your LEGO purchases and then you need to take advantage of these discounts.
Through thick and thin, LEGO strives to maintain a regular product release schedule year in and out. And while the best source on set launches would be LEGO themselves, sometimes retailers would jump the gun. These early announcements can contain the most exciting LEGO set notices, which we must wait for until confirmed or debunked. Last February we caught wind of a LEGO set for a mega-franchise from fellow toy giant Hasbro. Who could imagine a LEGO-Hasbro collaboration to make LEGO Transformers? That rumor, plus other LEGO items, just got their advance product reveal courtesy of an online German retailer.
The Brick Fan tells us that some upcoming LEGO sets now grace the online listings of Wagner’s in Germany. This listing includes the aforementioned long-rumored LEGO Optimus Prime (10302), from Hasbro’s “Transformers.” Not your thing? How about tie-ins for James Cameron’s “Avatar” particularly the sequel arriving late this year? We also have early mentions of the expected 2022 Advent Calendars, if you collect those. Here’s a rundown of what to expect from several major LEGO themes all through the year.
Architecture
Great Pyramid of Giza (21058) – 1,476 pieces | €139.99
If you’re an MCU fan and keep up to date, the start of this week must’ve been awesome for you. After all, the first big teaser for “Thor: Love and Thunder” just came out. At last the promise of Jane Foster becoming Thor like in Marvel Comics during the 2010s is being fulfilled. And to sweeten the deal especially for LEGO collectors, the tie-in sets have been hyped recently. They’ve also been a nice source of spoilers for the upcoming MCU movie’s plot. One of them, Attack on New Asgard, has been around in certain outlets since March. Now, LEGO’s got a listing for it.
As told by Brick Fanatics, there’s now an official LEGO.com product listing for Attack on New Asgard (76207). This is one of the upcoming LEGO Marvel tie-ins for “Thor: Love and Thunder.” Much like several other LEGO sets lately, it’s shown up in other stores before LEGO’s official reveal. Fortunately, the official launch date is within this month at least. Attack on New Asgard (76207) is a battle-scene set giving us good looks at the film characters. Thor and his one-time GF Jane Foster, now the Mighty Thor, both look good. Main baddie Gorr the God-Butcher and that buildable monster come across as menacing too.
And now, we have the official listing details right here:
Age 7+ | 159 pieces | 3 minifigures | $19.99 | Coming April 26
Super-Hero monster battles – With LEGO® Marvel Attack on New Asgard (76207), kids can be part of the Marvel Studios’ Thor: Love and Thunder movie action
Iconic Marvel characters – Includes Thor, Mighty Thor and Gorr minifigures, plus a buildable Shadow Monster with jointed arms and claws for imaginative play and display
Endless play possibilities – Kids recreate movie scenes and play out adventures of their own as they battle the twisting, turning, grabbing, nipping Shadow Monster
Just so you know, “Thor: Love and Thunder” stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Christian Bale. They play Thor, Jane/Mighty Thor and Gorr respectively, as depicted in the set above. This MCU blockbuster premieres on July 8.
It’s a new month today, four months now into 2022. That makes it the first of April, but we’re not pulling any April Fools gag here. After all, the first day of every month is LEGO set launch day. Thanks to The Brick Fan, we’ve got this recap of April 1 new LEGO set releases for easy reference. It’s not exactly expansive, but that means we’ll go over them quickly. You can also check the links for our features on some of the sets below:
The April 1st launch window isn’t quite beefy product-wise, like we already said. Still, there are enough new sets available now to purchase and get the seasonal promotions on top. In the run-up to the Easter holidays LEGO has your choice of cute bunnies or cute hatchling chicks:
Creator Easter Bunny (30583) – minimum LEGO purchase of $40
Both these Easter seasonal sets are available for promotion until, anticlimactically, April 16. That’s because Easter Sunday April 17 serves as the mid-month LEGO launch date for April 2022. We’ll touch upon the sets scheduled to come out then, when the time comes.
